Update my Windows 10 pc before I move to my mac

I'm about to migrate my PC to my Mac Pro 5.1.

Running Windows 7 (revenue of 8) on the PC and the OS x 10.9 (Maverick)

As I get a full copy of win 10 is it better to be upgraded before migrating to OSx or after?

When should I put my Mac OSx to El Cap?

I'm confused. Do you intend to run widows on Mac via Boot Camp?

Installation of Boot Camp requires the use of an ISO of windows

However, it seems that you can update to win 10 of Win 7, 8 or 8.1

  • Do I need to get all updates to windows on the new VISTA system before moving on to Windows 7?

Hi , I have a brand new 'Pavilion Elite m9300t PC with TV/PVR' always in the zone since the 2008-09-02 (don't ask why, long story). There "Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit)" on it.  I bought a software "Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade designed for Windows Vista" (box).  It seems clear that the system accepts the 64-bit Windows Update 7

My question is, when I turn firstly on this machine, I have to spend hours updating the Vista operating system with all the Windows updates until I put in the Windows 7 Upgrade?  Or can I just simply immediately install Windows 7 Premium on the new brand new OS Vista from HP?

I ask because I don't want to spend hours in Vista with Windows Update updates when I have not, before using Windows 7 Upgrade disks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA,-Paul

    Hello:

No, you don't have to do anything other than the upgrade to Vista.  If you are brave, you are better off getting a clean install and wiping out Vista anyway.  If not simply put in the drive of W7, let an automatic upgrade on place and you're ready to go. You will have enough updates W7 to treat once the PC is upgraded to W7.

  • UPDATES TO WINDOWS VISTA...

so I have no issues really with vista, but for about a month now, I can not install updates, or else they mess up my computer. for example they make my computer not work.  my yahoo Messenger has acted today & so I had to reboot, so I thought I would try to just update a few recent updates, it shows, and 1 had not, so he asked me to try the installation again and then he began to install the ones that I had clicked don't install. When he finished and told me to reboot I did, although the computer turns off.  then he immediately (when I had to manually activate the computer) that I need to run the Startup Repair tool and I had to try more than 3 times cuz he kept closing in on me when it would start to run that.  a system restore as well and finally got my computer to 'work '. THEN I get a message saying that my acoustic silencer of CD/DVD does not work. It was not a problem with it before you try to install the updates. I use it all the time to watch movies and such and never a problem.  the problem should not be that I something wrong on my computer since I run everyday my Trend anti-virus, seeking updates several times a day.

These are the 'codes' for the updates, with that I tried to install and have problems:

    Already-Rayne,
If you want to do a restore to factory on your PC and it did not come with a recovery disk, it must have a recovery partition.  You should consult the PC manufacturer to see how to get there to perform the restore.  Usually you press a button to start the computer (as F11 or Ctrl + F11, each OEM is different) and that will take you to a menu of recovery.

  • Cannot move files between Mac and Windows

I'm Fusion 8.1.1 and OS X 10.11.5. I can no longer move files back and forth between Mac and Windows (7 x 32 or 7 x 34) while in a single window. In addition, the unit is not available (grayed out). I did a Windows Update for virtual machines two days ago and also a recent update of OS X 10.11.4 to 10.11.5 so I don't know if that's the problem. Everything seems to work another Mac running Fusion 8.0.2 OS x 10.11.5. Do not remember if I've recently updated Windows because the dates are meaningless to me.

Advice as to why it happens? In the meantime, I'll try to recover a backup of virtual machine before my recent Windows upgrade.

    Tony

The fixed! I reinstalled VMware Tools on the W7x32 and W7x64 VMs and found unity and two-way drag and drop. I do not uninstall, just ran Virtual Machine > install VMware Tools in the menu bar. There was no option to reinstall VMware Tools, so I guess that the corrupted Windows VMware Tools update that was there before the update of Windows.

  • The update of Windows 10 1511 reboot loop Bootcamp BSOD ACPI. SYS

It is a copy of my thread to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/windows-10-update-1511-reboot-loop-bootcamp/8653... as I was asked to post here by the Microsoft Support Engineer.

    Hello

Friday night, I went to bed with a working machine. I had a late 2013 Mac Pro BootCamp running with a Windows 10 Pro installed, the Build version before 1511.

On Saturday morning, I woke up to my PC restart itself over and over again. It seems that Windows Update has decided to put a new version of Windows 10 on my machine without my knowledge. I discovered this after restoring an acronis backup (which took a few hours because of the number of incremental backups)

Occasionally (about 1 in 20 restarts) it would blue screen with an error:

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (ACPI.sys)

But the rest of the time he would just start, flash a window for a millisecond that says (I think) winlaunch.exe, then restart.

I tried a lot of things to sort it, including:

    (1) restore from a backup, acronis to Friday morning, running sfc/scannow, and then runs the update

    (2) the creation of a recovery USB, enter the console, change the boot to legacy method, so I can F8, then goes into all security modes and mode of illegal product, but I can find where windows 10 now puts the boot log

    (3) restored from acronis, switched to mac, created a new bootcamp drivers usb, switched to windows and run the option 'fix drivers' before performing the update.

Ntbtlog.txt is not anywhere on the partition. I ran a dir /s > a.txt then open this a.txt in Notepad and searched him.

I don't know where to go from here. I can acronis restore of a windows 10 work machine the morning before installing mandatory 1511. I don't know how to delay the update no more, I noted during a restore I had delay on updates that are why it has arisen just now.

I do not know how to find where this BSOD ACPI.sys will come (even if it happens so rarely) or this that its trying to load just before it crashes (so I can try to delete the driver etc. by the front restored windows to upgrade)

I guess the widowed causes 10 to do a restore, then the restore fails.

Overall, I get at the end of my wits with this, to go a completely Windows 10 installation work Friday to more than two wasted days, restore backups, try again, rinse and repeat. It's now Monday morning and I am posting this as a ditch last attempt to solve the problem, your help would be appreciated.

If you need more information please let me know the location of the files, etc, or their names and I will do my best to have copies available for you.

I will now restore the backup again, uninstall loading of drivers, and then try the update of windows for the 4th or 5th time.

    Thanks in advance,

    Julian

Woo Hoo, I've solved the problem!

I uninstalled the drivers of graphics from AMD (with AMD Driver Cleaner) and Arcronis True Image Home 2013 at the same time, then let Windows Update run its course. Now I have a machine with Windows Version 1511 10!

It took me 4 days of downtime...

I hope this helps someone else.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp63001-63500/sp63408.exe

  • HP EliteBook 850 G3: HP EliteBook 850 G3: its problems after the update of Windows 10 anniversary

    Hi people!

After the update of Windows 10 birthday I have problems with my sound card. There are two sound cards listed by Device Manager. The first is "Conexant Audio of ISST" and the second "Intel High Definition Audio". I know not weather it was the case before the update. I just recognized it after the update when I had sound problems.

In any case, on a sound start works on the other boot it does not work. It seems that Windows chooses the sound card, every time when it starts. Sometimes it takes the bad sound card.

I tried to uninstall maps its and their resettlement. On the HP site, there is a driver for the Conexant map bot no driver for Intel High Definition Audio card. 10 Windows itself is not find a driver for this sound card. I also tried to reinstall the other drivers, chipset drivers for example. But unfortunately it did not help. I also tried to disable the Intel High Definition Audio, but also without success.

What else can I try? I don't want to reinstall Windows. There must be a solution without this. Any ideas? Here's a screenshot of my device manager, perhaps it helps:

If you need more information, please let me know.

    Best regards

    Hi there @pavan_014.

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! I think the problem you are having is your sound and headphones since the Windows 10 upgrade.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

  • The PC HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15: Blurred and static Audio after update of Windows 10

I was using Windows 10 quite a few months now with no problems. My sound has been clear until this morning when my computer automatically updated itself. After the update, I noticed that my sound (which worked perfectly fine before the update) was blurred and subdued, with a noise static when the music I listened to hit a higher mark. This had not happened before. Not until I've updated. So far, I checked to see if I need to update something new for my audio device in Device Manager, but I was told that everything is up to date.

Previously, a few years ago I had a similar problem when updating from Windows 8, but rather my audio is completely out. Waiting to see if something like that happen again. I'm not sure what to do on my audio now, but I'm afraid to uninstall my sound card where I can bring him back despite says he's coming back. In addition, I don't know what to do for my specific product. I've read that many others have had similar problems, so if someone could help me I would be very grateful.
