From your description, I understand that the update of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB982168) cannot install. Please let me know if I misunderstood.

I understand the inconvenience you encountered. Rest assured that I will do my best to help you.

This problem may be caused by a damaged .NET Framework component. Based on its current state, I would suggest trying the following troubleshooting steps.

Step 1: Remove the .NET Framework using the removal tool

================================

1. download the tool from the following link:

http://CID-27e6a35d1a492af7.SkyDrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip

Please note: the third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding the performance or reliability of this product.

2. save the zip (dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip) file from the link above on the local desktop and extract it.

3. double-click on cleanup_tool.exe to run the tool.

4. follow the instructions given.

In the "cleaning product:", please select ".NET Framework - all versions.

5. click on 'clearing '.

After having removed the .NET Framework components, we will reinstall .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and update.

Step 2: Download and installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 manually

=======================================================

Please note: the size of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is a little big. Your patience to download the update is much appreciated.

1. click on the following link:

2. when the file download window appears, please click "Register" and follow the directions to save it to the desktop. After downloading the Setup file of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on your desktop, double-click it to install it manually.

However, if an error occurs during the installation of .NET Framework 3.5, please take a screenshot of the error message:

How to capture a screenshot:

======================

1. where the error is displayed, press the "Print Screen" (print screen) key on your keyboard.

2. click on 'Start', click 'Run', type MSPAINT and click on 'OK '.

3. in Paint, click on 'Paste' under the 'Edit' Menu, click 'Save' in the 'File' menu, type a file name for the screenshot, choose JPEG as "Save as type", click on "Desktop" in the left pane and click 'save '.

4. Please find the screenshot on the desktop and send it as an attachment to: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

Note: When you attach files to emails, the process will vary depending on the used e-mail application. While you compose the message, the most applications will provide you with a 'Join' button or paper clip icon click to attach a file. After clicking on this button/icon you need to navigate to the file you want to attach and select it by either double clicking on it or by clicking on it once, then clicking on the button "join".

If please try my suggestions and let me know the results soon. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know. It is my pleasure to be useful.

I look forward to hear from you.

Hello.  I just uninstalled LR 4.1 and reinstalled using the disc.  There is a 4.4 update I tried to install, but he failed both times I tried.  Message says 'Fail' but without code, etc.  It's 2016 and I use windows 7 64-bit.  Is there access to the 4.1 just uninstall and fresh install 4.4 from the site?  Is the problem 4.1 and 4.4 no longer supported?

You can download LR 4.4.1 including the latest update here:

Uninstall the current version of LR, you have it installed, download LR 4.4.1 installer and install it. I don't know what causes your problem with the update, but that a full installer for 4.4.1 can operate without any problems.

Friday morning I wasn't able to boot my computer more. When I start my computer it won't seek to set a parameter nr 3 of 3. And then it restarts again. My computer tried to install some windows update settings the day before with no success. I Don t remember what it was. I got Vista SP2

The same problem happends to my computer from friends four days, after she start a windows update installation. But it has solved its problem by using the Windows installation CD and use the repair tool.

For me, my Windows installation CD I got from Dell does not work. Not the tool repair or startreparation. And I have no reference system to return.

What should I do? I don't want to reinstall windows again, I have a lot of information on the computer I need to.

All the world has noticed this problem?

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

  • Windows update repeated says to install the same updates

    OS = vista.
    RE: new updates available
    selected for update.
Windows says it's installing the updates.
    check "installed updates".
    updates listed.
    These are the updates:
Update of security for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x 86 (KB2518870)
Update of security for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008 x 86 (KB2572078)

Updated for MICROSOFT.NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x 86 (KB2533523)

Says Windows usually updates installed and ready to turn it back on - it did not.
The new window updates, explains all the updates above are available and does not seem to recognize that they have already been "installed".
Suddendly machine may not be used, any open window says "not responding".
Tried to install the updates again, but same as above.
    Restart the computer.
I got Thunderbird open and does not and used Firefox to try to access this forum.
Firefox picked up trying to open on this forum and said not reponding.
Same as above, nothing had changed and unable to use what whatsoever.
Uninstalled all the above recent updates.
    The machine works again instantly.
Open Firefox to access forum, he reported problems with the last session on this site and so I started a new session.
    Everything works well and fast.

If I look at 'review your update history'
All the updates mentioned above are presented as successfully installed twice.
If I look at "the new updates are available," all the installed and then uninstalled updates are listed.

So before I try to install the updates listed above again, what known problems are there regarding their.
Why do you have the "check updates insist I had not installed?"
Why updates has not asked to restart the computer?
Why install the updates above make it impossible to use any programs?

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 64bits. A trial version of office 2007 has been pre-installed, but I removed it. Because something was wrong with deleting automatically I followed the instructions of a Microsoft Office site to manually remove. Although I followed all the steps, I still think that Windows Update sniffs a bit of the program, cause he mind keeps me with the security patch. Anyone an idea how to get rid of it?

    Thank you!

You can 'hide' any updates, but be aware that doing this cannot 'hide' all the new Office updates.

How to hide updates in Vista: click on view available updates (or Select the updates installed). Right-click on the update you want to hide. Click hide update | Confirm the UAC (User Account Control) prompt, as appropriate.

To restore/show updates for Vista: Start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step) | Windows Update | Restore hidden updates: Find and select the update you want to install | Restoration of. You can now select once again it and install through the normal process.
