Update keeps trying to install a former printer driver

I got a HP J6400 printer and now I have a new HP J6500 printer. Install the continuous update of trying to update the J6400 printer drivers. How can I remove this update all the time? I removed all the programs the J6400 printer but it keeps trying to install print "updated" drivers for this printer.

This problem is related to the MSI registration information inconsistancies.  I was able to fix by using a cmd "msiexec /i {C09FB3CD-3D0C-3F2D-899A-6A1D67F2073F} ADDLOCAL = ALL/l * v % temp%\repairLog.txt.  At the end of this process, the two installed normally KB and I have now no critical updates in the meantime.  I noticed that article 917964 described a situation where IE would not work if the repairs were made the xp without removal of IE8 or IE 7 first.  My IE 8 works fine.  By 917964, "before you perform a repair of Windows XP installation, you must uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Internet Explorer 8 of the Windows XP computer.". I had to reinstall Visual Studio 2005 and now the KB2584146, KB2598479, KB2603381, KB2631813, KB2646524 keep wanting to install and maintain otherwise. I tried to fix it and he repeats to me he needs repair installation and and the same thing again and again and it seems he's trying to install stuff for Server 2003 and it is not correct for my XP pro with service pack 3. Looks like you may have hidden a (security) update to SQL Server or one may have been 'stuck' in the queue of the update. Here again, she may have been related to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968749.

In any case, I suspect that MS support have been able to discover this, too - you had opened a free support incident.

Once again, good luck with the 14 Feb-12 updates.

  • Have no Microsoft Office installed, but Windows update keeps trying to install an "important security fix" for Office KB951944

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 64bits. A trial version of office 2007 has been pre-installed, but I removed it. Because something was wrong with deleting automatically I followed the instructions of a Microsoft Office site to manually remove. Although I followed all the steps, I still think that Windows Update sniffs a bit of the program, cause he mind keeps me with the security patch. Anyone an idea how to get rid of it?

    Thank you!

You can 'hide' any updates, but be aware that doing this cannot 'hide' all the new Office updates.

How to hide updates in Vista: click on view available updates (or Select the updates installed). Right-click on the update you want to hide. Click hide update | Confirm the UAC (User Account Control) prompt, as appropriate.

To restore/show updates for Vista: Start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step) | Windows Update | Restore hidden updates: Find and select the update you want to install | Restoration of. You can now select once again it and install through the normal process.

TIP: to avoid the downloading/installation, updates that you do not want to configure the automatic updates option second or third parameter in the Edit settings window. See picture here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/windowsupdate/learn/windowsvista.mspx

I am registered as an administrator and is the only user of this laptop. I did not have a password. I installed a few programs without having this problem.

    This is the error message:

Action required: click Cancel to exit this software installation. Sign out and then sign in as a user with administrator privileges. (Contact your system administrator for more information.) If there is no system administrator, ask the primary user of this computer installation software. Restart the installation by removing and re - insert the installation CD.
I tried to open a session as a different user, but it doesn't help either.

    Hello

This problem is caused by corrupted windows update system components.

    For Windows Update revived question follow this troubleshooting;

Power the computer in cleanboot to disable unnecessary services running on the background.

    Follow the instructions here: http://www.tech4windows.info/2013/09/make-your-windows-pc-boot-faster.html

Click Start - > in the search box type 'cmd'-> right click on CMD and "run as Administrator"... Press ENTER...

    Type the following command;

    net stop wuauserv

    CD %SystemRoot%\System32

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    net start wuauserv

    net stop cryptsvc

    Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2

    Original title: update

Windows Installer keeps trying to install an update for Paint Shop Photo Album, which is no longer available. How he remove without disabling the windows installer? I installed v4.5 installer that allows enabling or disabling updates. Paint Shop appears but the box is not checked, so the installer must ignore, right?

Using msconfig, I can find nothing in startup or services that will completely eliminate the problem, Evin with instaler disabled, Setup window will start to blink during boot computer has been scanned and cleaned with Security Essentials, SuperAntiSpy and Spybot. \

There is a key in registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\ referring to it.

What is no longer available - Paint Shop Photo Album or the update?

If you have uninstalled Paint Shop Photo Album, you might see if running free Revo Uninstaller is able to get rid of leftovers that could cause problems.

  • Windows Installer keeps trying to install msi.status but it will not install

Windows Installer keeps trying to install msi.status but it will not install and I think he got the other updates to the installation.  How difficult or get rid of it?

    Hello
In my view, that it is a software HP printer problem. Please, try the following:

If you have the HP software on your PC support (printers, etc.)
the disc when the pop-up window displays a location '1'. Click Browse
then open the HP disc in the CD drive. A named icon status should
appear. Click on this icon and load. This will get rid of the
    Status.msi loop.

If you do not have the original disc. Uninstall HP Photosmart all-in-One Driver software and HP update program - then only reinstall the HP Photosmart all-in-One Driver software. Do not update, just live with it. The web link for the full features of the software download is provided below.

  • I keep trying to install the latest version of firefox and it does not work

I am running firefox 3.something, I think, and I keep trying to install the latest version on my mac. I have through save, open, drag the icon to my apps file... and when I drag my apps file, it takes a few seconds to do * something *, pings to me and then nothing after that. I try to open it and it tells me that I have to close firefox first, so I didn't (restart even) and when it opens again it still opens to the old version.

Looks like you are trying to install the latest version by downloading it from the Mozilla site. What happens if you try and install by choosing Firefox > Firefox in the Menu bar? Yet you say that Firefox is not updated?

Also, have you tried to uninstall Firefox using CleanMyMac or AppCleaner, for example and then install again? Please do not do this until you are satisfied you have saved all the information that you want to keep, first (passwords, etc.).
