Update Service Pack 2 stops at 100%.
Hello there, my Windows Vista installation seems to update, but stops abruptly at 100%. It will not move and complete the update, it just stops. I keep the PC, and I had to preform a system reset cause it was still stuck on the "Configuring updates" screen No code error, not to try anything. I also tried the version of Microsoft Website, the same error. I need help. Thank you!

UPDATE: the actual plant, not the col 2/3 or 3/3. I'm talking when the OS is online.
Hello
You say that you reset Vista and then tried to install SP2 again with the same results.
I have always found the best way to install the SP2 after all these years, is to reset to original out of the box state > install SP1 if necessary if the original disc had no SP1 already as part of it > then install SP2.
It was always the advice that I gave to people to follow:
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you which SP you have installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.
Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30
Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299
Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468
Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything in the list below, in order, before connecting the machine to the internet or a local network (i.e. other computers) and before you plug in a flash, SD card, or any other external computer diskotherwise:
- Make sure that the Windows Firewall is enabled.
- Uninstall any moment invalid Norton, McAfee, etc., free version of test which was also reinstalled, run the appropriate removal tool (see below), and then install an application antivirus of your choice (for example, http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspxMicrosoft Security Essentials- free).
- Arrival to Windows Update & get the computer fully patched - see article below
- If you use other than MSE antivirus, consider making an application also antimalware as MalwareBytes AntiMalware.
TIP: Use another and negative computer to download programs for, for example, SP2 or SP3 installation, the installer for your new anti-virus application and or other removal tools cited below. Transfer these files to CD or DVD (not a flash drive) and then transfer the files of the CD or DVD on the desktop of the computer you are using.

Update Service Pack 2 is not installed, now my computer will not boot
Hello. I recently tried to install the service pack 2 update on my computer. It did not installed. My computer is slow, so I tried restarting. It came with the screen that shows the updates are being installed. I kept the computer until it stops. When I turned it back on it would go to this same screen but with a message saying that the service pack was not installed correctly and that the computer is reverting changes. It will turn on / off power permanently. In an attempt to fix it, I managed to get in the log on screen and put in my password, but the minute I hit enter my computer started and closed the loop on endless. Anyone know what I can do?

I already have Service Pack 1 on my computer and Vista. I'm trying to automatically upgrade to Service Pack 2 and the error code: 80093102. I'm not in a position to know what means this error code. When I try to manually install Service Pack 2, I said that I don't have Service Pack 1. So I try to install Service Pack 1, but tells me that it is already installed. I go back to try to install the Service Pack 2 but tells me once more that I don't have Service Pack 2. Sounds like a Catch 22. Any suggestions?
