• Dell Inspiron 7559 10 Anniersary update Windows PROBLEM.

  My problem is... No, not quite so, my PROBLEM is of Windows 10 anniversary update gets downloaded, installed and does not again and again. When it passes through Windows Update Center everything is going well, but eventually, after a reboot, I get a notification that the system could not install the update. No other information or error codes provided. After Windows Update Center detects the same birthday update and everything is in the circle. I called Microsoft Support three times with different engineers but with the same end result - the problem still not solved. I used MediaCreationTool utility as well. With this utility, the whole process is going well, but eventually I get the popup window that says "an error occurred during the installation of update. When I tried to reinstall Windows 10 of the image created by MediaCreationTool I got the 0xd0000034 error code (finally! something that I can use to find a solution!), but searching through the Internet of this code did not help to resolve this problem.   Download the .iso image file, make a USB Bootable with Rufus (installation program by using the formatted GPT for UEFI BIOS and FAT32 partition scheme). Then try to clean install. Use own Diskpart if this fails (you have your system image to restore failure).

  Thought I would let you know that I've finally sorted this! :)

  In another forum I read a post from someone who had a similar problem and solved it by uninstalling the "failures" updated, restart the PC and then re-run the update. It worked! It had not occurred to me to try what I've assumed that 'impossible' meant that they had not installed at all, not that they didn't had simply not installed correctly and must have become corrupt.

  I hope this will help someone else who has the same problem, I've had!

The only solution is to turn it off by holding the power and then turning it back on, button which is obviously annoying because open files may be lost or corrupted.   Sounds like a driver problem.

  go to control panel and uninstall different drivers (sound, display, wireless, etc.), then let Windows update install the latest versions.

  I have a Satellite P10 304 to 2003 which has Windows XP, but I need to update for obvious reasons. I bought a copy of Windows 7 (32 bit) and installed without any installation problem, however I can't update Windows.

  I reinstalled, deleted the hard drive and reinstalled again. Tried the stop and start the Windows Update utility.
  Downloaded the stand-alone Windows Update.

  Updated the BIOS to V2.0 and downloaded the Toshiba Service Station application (who says no update is necessary).
  All this without success.

  My hopes were raised when I saw that the Station Service for Windows 7 32 bit software was available for the P10 304 but I am now at a loss.

  Anyone know if this laptop can be upgraded to Windows 7 and how to get updates of work?

  I'm sure that installation of Windows 7 update problems are not specific to Toshiba problems even if you use the Toshiba laptop.

  8.1 Microsoft Windows (although very good and big update ) is still in BETA (testing) phase and is not officially supported.

  Windows has features upgrade analysis and that it has detected that HP ProtectTools are not (yet) compatible with the new operating system (new update) - still in test.

  I downloaded, a couple of weeks, a registry clean program AdAware and ran it... It was probably the time that feature automatic updates Windows Update stopped working.

  Let us know the updates that need to be download.

  First go through all the steps and then start troubleshooting.

  Step 1: Check if Windows update-related services are set to automatic and started.

  Click Start, type services.msc in the start search box, right-click to services.msc, and then click Run as administrator.

  Check the above services below:
  (a) Background Intelligent Transfer Service
  (b) cryptographic service
  (c) Windows Update

  Step 2: Rename the Catroot2 folder

  To rename the Catroot2 folder, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box and right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
  2. at the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each line:

  net stop cryptsvc
  Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2
  net start cryptsvc
  output

  3 remove all tmp*.cat to the following folder:

  % systemroot%\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

  If any of the files that begin with tmp exist in this folder, do not remove any other files. Files .cat in this folder are necessary for installing hotfixes and service packs.

  Important: Do not rename the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot. The Catroot2 folder is automatically recreated by Windows, but the C:\windows\system32\catroot folder is not recreated if is renamed the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot.

  Restart the computer.

  Step 4: Empty the software distribution folder

  1. Click Start, type services.msc in the search box, click services.msc, and then click Run as administrator.
  2. in the Services (Local) pane, click Automatic updates and then click on stop.
  3. reduce the Services (local) window.
  4. Select all the contents of the Windows distribution folder, and then delete them.

  Note: by default, the Windows distribution folder is located in the drive: \Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder. At this location, the drive is a placeholder for the drive where Windows is installed.
  5. make sure that the Windows distribution folder is empty, and then enlarge the Services (local) window.
