Update Windows 10 download on PC Windows 7

I have a laptop that is currently under Win7 professional. I have the 'get 10 windows' icon on the lower right of my screen but whenever I select the option "update now" it starts to download the update and then closes just the application completely. I tried to do this many times and get the same results every time. I'm quite lost as to what I can do now. My computer is as up-to-date as possible according to the update of Windows. I had a USB with Windows 10 on it and I was wondering if I'm doing a new install of Windows 10 with USB can I use my product key for Windows 7 to activate 10?  If this is not the case, what can I do else? I'm going crazy trying to get this set PC to date.

There are 2 options here:

1. turn on your system, the use of media creation tool upgrade level, simply select this PC and fact.

2. make a clean note 10 - Please install Windows you need Windows 10 version 1511 for this to do a clean install and use the product key.

Earlier Windows 10, released in July 2015 would not activate with the key of Windows 7.

Download Windows 10 media creation tool

Simply select this option of PC/improvement.

    Question

I have another type of problem with Firefox

    Description

Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?

You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).

If it does not, see our KB article How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message - the section of 'last resort' can be useful, or or read this article from MozillaZine KB, software update.

  • Updates Windows will not download.

I'm loading to the top of page update on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 x system and it shows that I have updated security to install windows. I had about 11, but some of them downloaded and installed correctly as Security Essentials definitions etc, however; the security updates are not download. It showed 0% about 3 days now.

Is this a problem with the microsoft Server? I tried to download them directly from the site, but I had the same problem there. They will not download and install. I don't know how this has become a problem so I can't give the last update, I installed before that happens, but I can say that it's happened with other updates. Only once.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Updates, I am trying to download are:

East went to the Microsoft Update Web site, but got stock without ever generating the list of updates.  Restarted.

Went to link to FixIt for this type of problem and it just downloaded WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab and indicated that nothing was available to open this type of file.  Should a FixIt application be installed first?  He is yet to provide suggestions on how to proceed.

Aversion to disable the automatic updates if would like more information on how to have a greater mastery of the process that it hogs computer and interfere with the realization of planned work.

    Kind regards.

    Thanks for the reply.

I agree that it is not dust on the fan - read my response above.

As I said above, I have concluded that the solution to the problem of automatic updates are unruly must all just use to be notified when updates are available, but then go on the site of Microsoft Updates and make the download / installation of the updates from there.  Doing it this way is much less likely to cause problems and offer better control of the user.  Once Microsoft Updates ends the taskbar icon disappears until the next time updates are available.

  • Update Windows repeatedly asks me to download updates

Update Windows repeatedly asks me to download the updates on Office 2007 2 and 1 Excel 2003 update, although the update history shows these updates succeeded (properly installed).

    KB2760588, KB2810048, KB2760411

I've finally just marked them as hidden so updates it wouldn't keep bugging me, until I can find an answer or a revised update is published (already happened).
