Updates are not released every day... You think they are?
Usually you will get the updates on the second Tuesday (or almost) every month.
Is already being updated at least of your Windows XP SP3? If not - then this is a problem as well (actually, this would be your Windows XP would not be taken in charge and finding no updates for this.)

For the last month or more, I had the same two updates for my computer
original title: Windows updates
For the last month or more, I had the same two updates on my computer. Is anyone know why and what I can do to fix this? I am running Windows XP. Thank you very much.
Hello
the message "you have hidden the important updates" is normal, because you have hidden the high priority updates, but the updates are already installed, if that's OK.
Try to look again at the web page:
http://www.update.Microsoft.com/
and click on "Custom".
You should not see the updates (KB2518864 and KB2539631) in "review and install updates.
You should see only "Important - you have hidden the important updates..." and "high-priority - updates non-priority updates to update for your computer... ».
Then, try this (remove the content of the "'C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" ")
- Click Start, click run, type services.mscand click OK.
- In the Services (Local) pane, click automatic updates, and then click stop.
- Reduce the Services (local) window.
- Select all the contents of the Windows distribution folder, and then delete them.
Note By default, the Windows distribution folder is located in the drive: \Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder. This place is a placeholder for the drive where Windows is installed.
- Ensure that Windows distribution folder is emptyand enlarge the Services (local) window.
- In the Services (Local) pane, click automatic updates, and then click Start.
- Restart the computer.
I hope that we will achieve the goal, it will no longer still report the updates :-)

I'm trying to update the firmware on my HP Officejet Pro X451dw (CN463A), but the firmware update fails with the error "This Firmware Updater does not contain updates for your device." More precisely:
- With the help of EWS, I confirmed that my current firmware is very old (it lists the firmware version of BWP1CN1315FR, which means 1315FR, right?, dating almost the time I bought the printer about 3 years ago).
- I downloaded the firmware ("OJP_X451dw_R1640A_updated.dmg") was last updated, copied 'HP Firmware Updater' in /Applications and then he ran.
- It shows my printer in the Device Discovery list. I selected and clicked on continue.
- He thinks for a while, displaying "recovery information...". »
- After a wait of 30 seconds (approx.), it displays "EC Firmware Updater does not contain updates for your device."
Any suggestions?
You're welcome @justkwin.

I can't install any updates for my computer at all, even the window updates is one of the many error messages I receive, Error 1606 could access the location %APPDATA%\ network. How can I fix it?
Hello
This problem occurs because there is incorrect entries in the Shell folder of the user who is logged on to Microsoft Windows. When Windows Installer goes to the sale of Shell folder of the user who is logged on to the computer, Windows Installer cannot locate the correct entry. The solution is inhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/886549.
The steps to correct this problem involve editing the Windows registry.
WARNING:
Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk. I suggest that you first back up your registry as follows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Back-up-the-registry.
Here are the steps to fix it.
Step 1:
a. Click Start, click Run, type ""regedit ' in the Open box, and then click OK. "
b. find the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell dossiers\
c. remove the entries that show the path that is listed in the error message.
Step 2:
886549 KB http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/886549:
Open Regedit a. once again. In the left pane, click User Shell Folders, point to new, click expandable string value.
b. type the value name that you want to restore (AppData), and then press ENTER.
c. right-click on this value, click modify, type the value in the value data for the value name box and then click OK. The value data must be: % USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming.
Step 8 KB 886549 suggests that you also check the values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders. However, by fixing my problem, I had not to change values in the registry key. If this does not work, follow ALL the steps in the referenced article.

Hello!
For the life of me I can't figure out how to get my machine to boot successfully. Nothing changes when I choose Safe Mode, last known good Configuration, enable VGA Mode, booting, Directory Services Restore Mode or Debug Mode logging.
It's very stressful, because I'm right smack dab in the Middle a semester at the College. I have most of what I currently need access to supported illuminates... but not quite all :( It is also very reassuring to be able to take care of the school of work away from the library of the University. Yesterday, my computer was working fine... I think that Windows has completed an update, if I can't remember now. As I woke up this morning, I was not able to boot all the way to Windows only once.
My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6000 running XP Media Center, and I have not installed new hardware since I bought the machine about 3 years ago.
Here are more details, where they can help in the diagnosis of my problem:
- ID of the system board: 30BB
- Type of processor: Genuine Intel(r) CPU T2250
- Processor speed: 1730 MHz
- Total memory: 1024 MB
- Video memory up to: 128 MB
- BIOS version: F.06
Here's the entire message to the blue screen:

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Make sure you have enough disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video cards.
Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS. Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

Also, I never did much with computer problems beyond what could be repaired with the restoration of the system... so not being is not able to boot at all me has to stop. Please, I beg you! Help me?!
With great appreciation for your time,.

Some HP partition the hard drive. have you tried to type F11 or F12 during startup (before that he go to the option mode start screen)? It might take you for a HP recovery program in that partition (because windows don't be loading not to use that recovery)Good luck -
Windows installation was not successful. Your previous version of Windows is being restored. Do not restart your computer during this time. I have a small Toshiba laptop which has installed Windows 7. I uninstalled my Norton (that I was instructed to do so by a friend); tried to reinstall Windows 8; and got the same message. Any suggestions?
Hi Dreah117,
Thanks for choosing Windows 8!
I understand that you get this error trying to upgrade to Windows 8. Its good that
you have removed your anti-virus software are there is a possiblity of it
causing problems with installationI have a few questions about your system
1. what operating system (OS) you upgrade?
2 what is a 32 or 64 bit OS?
3. you try to install a 32-bit or 64-bit of Windows 8?You can try these methods to see if it solves the problem
Method 1:
Run the upgrade wizard and check to see if your system is compliant with the minimum requuirements.http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/upgrade-to-Windows-8
Method 2:
Disable or uninstall a software such as CD/DVD burning utility or third-party disk utility to defragment programs such as perfect disk / Daemon Tools(a) in the notification area, next to the time looking for icons of software disk utility
(b) pass the mouse over it to check the name
(c) right-click on the icon and select "Exit/Disable" or a similar option.
Method 3:
Make sure your computer is updated through Windows Update.http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/Windows-Update
Method 4:
Disconnect all unnecessary external devices such as printers / joysticks etc.
Method 5:
Put the computer to boot is a way to solve problemshttp://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Please follow step 3 on the link if upgradation fails to return your system to a normal startup.

Get the Message After that recent Windows 7 update for this computer is not running Genuine Windows
I bought this directly from computer to DELL 9 months ago. After the last update of Windows 7, I get the Activation screen pop up:
"This computer is not current running Genuine Windows"
I tried some of the suggestions on the community forum - did not work.
I tried to re - activate Windows by phone - rejected
I tried to follow the directions on the error screen - unfortunately, I seem to get lost in an infinite loop, tried to contact MS Support by eMail... I can never get the screen to contact technical support by email. I'm trying this.

This is on a DELL computer. I contacted DELL support and they have a bulletin on the basis of their knowledge. The bulletin has a number of solutions for fixing this updates the BIOS including instructions, and updates the driver Intel. For me, the update of the BIOS seems to have solved the problem.

Windows Update has had the BAD update for my computer!
Windows Xp Pro 32 bit, ie8. There was an update of the optional equipment, Trendnet ethernet adapter. I installed it. I lost my internet connection. I reinstalled my ethernet realtek card and my internet back. I realize, it's an optional update, but I try to update everything always. Now that I have disabled the adapter trendnet update is back on my list of update in windows update. I have scored for don't show this update and will have this irritating msg to restore hidden updates whenever I'll update. How this erroneous update occurred? Thanks for any help.
It happened because you gave. Never install of optional hardware updates from MS Update. Usually, they will burn out your computer. Download the updates directly from the computer manufacturer site.

Update Windows 10 question about the music stored on your computer
My Media Player will still work when we update of Windows 10? We don't want to lose our music! We are musicians and have a lot of money invested in the songs that we bought and stored in Windows Media Player... Thanks much for any help you can offer!
Hallo Miki
In theory, your music should be affected by changing to 10 Windows, but it is wise to make sure that nothing is lost by creating full copies of all important personal files (music more documentation pictures and videos) away from your computer before the upgrade. The best bet is an external hard drive USB - sizes range from 250 GB upwards - a similar in size to your pc would be a good thing. Copy music to it and check that the drive is in good working order and if you are happy, start copying everything on. Prevention is better than cure, and there have been a lot of posts on these forums of people who have lost things because something was wrong when upgrading. Another tip... check with your pc manufacturer's support Web site to see if any of their components need update prepares first. This is often overlooked. -Ric.

Windows 7 stuck on update "restart your computer to install important updates"
Yesterday by mistake I upgraded Windows 7 to 10. After watching 10 hours, I returned to 7. System check updates to day and put some apparently and followed with "Restart your computer to install important updates" - which cannot be updated while the system is using them. All that seems fair enough. However, the same reboot message was received after several reboots (including cold boots). Cannot restore to last good config - probably due to their loss in the upgrade. FixIt MS and solving problems of updating has not solved the problem. Is there a switch somewhere that I can reset? Help please.
Is this the same computer - not necessarily the same problem - as in one or more of these previous threads of yours?...
