  I m not the owner of a Qosmio so I m not sure but as far as I know it s not possible to update the graphics card on a Toshiba laptop. For the upgrade of the GPU, I can prefer this useful link:

  But why you want to upgrade? I mean the Qosmio F45 is the oldest not portable and the graphics performance should be good.

  I'm stuck with that laptop right now because when I did a scan for virus about 4 weeks ago we found 179 virus and endless malware, and since this analysis I can start is no longer a normal Windows Vista 32-bit area unless it is Safe Mode.

  When my mother bought the laptop it is a display model and that they did not provide a recovery disc witht the laptop. I am able to request one or if I am not not to get a disk how am I able to rectify the Please this problem? Also when you try to open a session in normal Windows, it accepts the password then sits there with happiness on the 'Welcome' screen and does not move further.

  Your Equium L40 comes with HARD drive recovery option.
  Recovery image is recorded on the second partition, and you should have HDDRecovery folder saved on the second partition.

  I had some problems with my lappie, checked if Toshiba support looking for updated drivers to slow down.
  They was a BIOS update with specified 2.00WIN an improvement in performance.

  My BIOS is v 1.60
  I'm running Vista and my model number is PSL49E

  There are warnings that this update is only for the models running Vista and PSL49x - so I thought that I was ok.

  The windows Flash update and I have a popup dialog told me that this was necessary.
  When the computer reboots, I pressed F2 and the version of the BIOS showed 2.00
  Then, I left the BIOS Setup and nada!
  Black screen, nothing else.
  The blue light is on power list, by nothing else the HARD disk light.

  It can be reflashed using FN + F and using the usb disk?
  If Yes, where can I download the BIOS original version 1.6

  It is very easy to do. There are a few Philips screws on the cards and you remove the media from the standard profile and install the CF ones.

  If you can take any Radeon 4350 at the best prices, it should work with your P/S.

  You are able to access the BIOS? Usually, you can access the BIOS by pressing F2 at the beginning.
  So if this is not possible, then it means that your card mother s cell phones likely to be affected. But also the defective RAM module might be possible

  The SATA drivers, you can download on the official website of Toshiba and the driver is called Intel Storage Manager.
  But you must extract the files first until you can use them.

  I know Equium L40 has Serial ATA but Tecra A3 IDE(Ultra ATA/100) interface interface. So, this means that you cannot replace hard drive Tecra A23 to Equium one.

  HI - new to this, but really cut so I hope someone can help me. !

  I bought an Equium L40 - 10 X in August and thought it was good for what I wanted, especially after seeking advice and addressing the 'expert' at my local pcworld.

  However, I think that the graphics card is good enough to support the games I got - Medal of honor Warchest, Hitman Triple Pack and Call of Duty 2. They all sem to recommend a graphics card than nVidia as a minimum requirement. The card in the laptop is an Intel (r) 945 Express Chipset Family (I think) and the OS is Vista Home Premium.

  I have problems include the loss of graphics and stutter during playback.

  Can I have a nVidia graphics card or is the that I've had enough but I just need to change some settings?

  Really don't have an idea, so help would be much appreciated!

  You are shown how the customer can purchase the wrong product. It may be your fault or due to bad Advisory Service. L40 books are pretty cheap with the average material. This laptop is good for everyday work (Office Automation, writing letters and surfing) but certainly not for the complex graphics applications and games.

  Sorry but there is not much to do. Only thing to do is to increase the RAM to the maximum, but forget the graphics card upgrade. Something like this is not possible.
