Updated metadata to ASO

Gurus,

We have built a standalone ASO cube. We are finalizing the process of updating the metadata for the cube. The excerpts we receive DRM contain all of the hierarchy for each dimension, so we will not only make the changes, but update the entire hierarchy of the dimensions. This cube is complex and much shared members in 2 dimensions. What would be the best approach for the update of metadata?

1. update the main cube OR by creating a cube temp and then by copying this sketch to the main cube.

2. If we change the outline of maincube in each update of metadata, what would be the impact on the data in this cube?

3. we'll certainly take backups via Maxl when he is executed, but do we need to import the exported data after each update of metadata?

Please suggest.

Thank you

~ RN

1. I wouldn't do it this way. Update the plan itself (vs restructuring of the cube) is not usually a lot of time, so this does not really vs downtime rebuild the contour "in place".

2. unless your version of Essbase is System 9, that I guess that's not, the cube will restructure well with 'delete not determined' in the State of charge (which is what you do if you want to rebuild the entire dimension) and keep the data. All existing data of level 0 will be fine, unless you actually remove members of level 0 in the DRM source hierarchy. In this case, the data for the deleted members will be lost (as you can probably guess).

3 backups are always good. But there should be no need to re - import the data.

  • FDM automatically updated metadata?

    Hi all!

    My user has 2 applications that operate independently, but have a similar metadata. If it updates one of the applications (it adds 3 o 4 accounts generally, monthly), it needs to update the other request too (well manually). Is it possible to automate this process with FDM? If not, is there another way to do?
    Thank you!

    FDM does not update metadata, but it looks to be a case where the EPMA could be very useful for managing your metadata HFM.

  • How can I allow users of CS update metadata on several items? (gR 10, 3 of the Complutense University of MADRID)

    In the 10gR 3 AAU portal user interface:

    It is convenient to allow us users to update fields of metadata on a group of items in a single action. We want to allow users to select any number of files of results of a search of CS.

    After selecting the items, we want users to be able to define new values for some fields (for example the security group and the Document Type) without touching the values of other fields of metadata (such as author).

    This seems to be a pretty basic feature, but we can't seem to find in the user interface of CS. What is the best way to do this in the user interface of CS?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    There is a custom component, component MassMetaData, which can be used for this specific feature. I've seen some users use it to update metadata on several items in one fell swoop.
    Maybe some of the consultants can be contacted to get their hands on this component.

  • How to create action available personalized with action service "update metadata'

    Does anyone know how to use a metadata update disposition action there is no reference to this topic in the documentation.

    I need to create a custom layout action that will populate the metadata field user with current date after a defined period of time, that I was hoping that the "metadata update" with some settings will fit.

    Backup scenario is to use a predefined action (obsolete, outdated, etc.), but this isn't pure solution because it will not corespond with the real state of the document (content).

    http://I60.Tinypic.com/28aj0pi.PNG

    Well, it might help if I actually gave you the right syntax... that's what you get when you try and do things to memory - memory is suspect.

    In the service action parameters box, enter the name of the field (that is, "xMyDateField"), an '=' signand <$formatDateWithPattern(dateCurrent(),"MM d/yyyy")$="">, namely

    "xMyDateField =<$formatDateWithPattern(dateCurrent(),"MM d/yyyy")$="">"

    If you try to update multiple fields, it is here that commas are involved (such as xComments =<$dUser$>, xMyDateField =<$formatDateWithPattern(dateCurrent(),"MM d/yyyy")$="">)

    I've tested this locally before responding, and it works in 11.1.1.8.  Remember that after you approve the disposition action, you will have to run services new batch to get the update to run.

    Creating custom layout actions is not something that is covered too deeply anywhere in the documentation.  It's actually not common of an occurrence in my experience.

  • Update metadata

    I use LR on Win 7 64 bit PC 4.3.  I noticed that a lot of my slide show of "Status of metadata has been changed", but when I try to synchronize folders, that message does not change.  However, when I click on the icon next to the message will be updated only one photo.  How can I update all THE photos so that they have current and correct metadata without a single photo at a time.

    There must be a way...

    Thank you

    Dave

    Simply create a Smart Collection with metadata - East - conflict detected status. Then you can select them all and click on an icon to write or read, as the case may be.

  • Update preview DNG and metadata issue

    I am fairly new to work with RAW files and hit an irritating problem that I'd like to help.

    I just did a shoot in which the camera (Nikon) unable, for some reason, set a good white balance. All these NEF files had seen terrible. I have imported the naves with convert to DNG and started working on the DNG. It was easy to find a white balance decent, I applied to all concerned images. I then ran metadata > preview DNG update & metadata.

    I expect this to create a new Preview file that would replace the one created with the bad white balance. This isn't. As I sail in this series of photos, old saucy clips keep appearing, andI have to wait for them to be replaced with the current versions. It's long and tedious, since I have to keep looking at those brutally bad previews.

    What is going on? "Update preview DNG & Metadata" seems to be a simple term with little room for argument. Is there any way I can, in fact, Update DNG previews and lose the 'old'?

    What look like thumbs in the Finder? That's where you should see the previews DNG has changed. The extracts you see in LR are in the file catalog Previews.lrdata Lightroom 3. They should get rebuilt automatically, but you may need to delete the lrdata file to get rid of the old previews and they will all be rebuilt, which will also be your time.

  • [CS3 JS] How to force the update of XMP metadata for a thumbnail?

    Hi people,

    In a JavaScript in Bridge CS3, I update a value in the XMP metadata for a thumbnail. Later in the script I want to read the updated metadata XMP of miniature, but often the bridge didn't updated metadata at the time wherever I read it. In other words, my script reads the value before the update. I guess there is a problem of ongoing caching.

    I'm new to the bridge of script, and I hope someone here can offer suggestions on how I can (or even * if * I can) force the bridge to update the cache of the XMP metadata to a file so that when I read it later in the script reflect the recent changes. I tried to use Thumbnail.refresh (), but this does not seem to do the trick. I don't mind a slow script, I just want to be able to read the correct value.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    -Jim

    Where is the line?

    Thumb.Metadata = new Metadata (updatedPacket);

    Try

    app.synchronousMode = true;

    Thumb.Metadata = new Metadata (updatedPacket);

    approx. synchronousMode = false;

    Metadata default bridge updates arrive in the background and not on the main thread, but using the mode synchronous here your script only continues to the next line, until the operation is complete.

  • Why metadata changed?

    Suddenly, my library catalog of ~ 50 000 images indicated that almost every picture requires update metadata. Only a few jpg files does not show this.

    So, what has changed the metadata in Lightroom? Any suggestions?

    ScreenShot079.jpgScreenShot078.jpg

    I've included the complete difference in lists of the 'exiftool - a - G' output below (personal information that have been omitted).  Observed Trshaner .jpg has changes to the root of the hierarchy of keywords, so the .dng has new keywords and copyright info added.  You did recently these changes?

  • include metadata in the context of search results

    Hello

    I invoke the GET_SEARCH_RESULTS service.

    • When the search engine is configured as DATA base. METADATA, search results contains most of the built-in as well as customized elements of content metadata fields.
    • When the search engine is configured as OracleTextSearch, the search results returned contains only the metadata fields that are emerging as part of the design of advanced search

    As part of the two types of search engine, we need go get dReleaseDate metadata as part of the search results field. How can I achieve this?

    Thank you.

    Hello Mohan,

    Infact put dReleaseDate to update with metadata update timestamp. The dReleaseDate field indicates the date and time that the document makes the output state (after being converted, indexed, workflow, etc.).  It is changed during an update of metadata.

    So, as William mentioned, create a custom field of new date and allows to store time to update metadata for the derived value.

  • Integration of metadata ODI with EPMA Shared library

    Hi all

    We are in the phase of implementation of the Hyperion Planning, and we need to update metadata using a tool of ETL in EPMA.

    Is what ODI integrates with Oracle and EPMA library shared or not.
    If this isn't the case, then we have another tool to be integrated the same.

    Good answer.

    Thank you
    KK

    I think John Goodwin wrote a series of blog posts to show exactly this integration.

    Here's the first:

  • Missing metadata patch

    So I have a swarm of ESXi Embedded systems connected to my VirtualCenter server, and I want to use the update for the patch up to current. I them attached to the "critical" and "non-critical base lines. When I try to scan, the analysis fails with:

    Failure analysis of HOST name for the updates.

    Metadata for the missing HOST name patch. Please download the updated metadata.

    Now, I'm not a model. I have read the forums, I saw the wire and the KB article on multiple NICs in my VirtualCenter server and I edited this file vci - integrity.xml, or whatever it is, to have the URL for the Virtual Center Server. And I confirmed that the ESXi host in question could also well ping and resolve the virtualcenter server. The VirtualCenter server has free access to the outside and has no problem talking to vmware.com or what was than the other site that was included in the KB articles.  There's another KB article which mentions the opening of ports in firewall on the "ESX host", but appears not to be an option with the ESXi host, at least not anywhere I've seen.

    Support tells me that there are only two ways to handle upgrades on ESXi embedded systems, using the "VMware Infrastructure Update" application (which requires connecting manually each ESXi host) or with a command line tool.   Frankly, this seems crazy to me given the Update Manager seems to be orders of magnitude more powerful in terms of what it can do, and I can't imagine ESXi users forced to do things "the very hard' like that.

    Does anyone have experience with this they would like to share? I'm getting very frustrated...

    See you soon,.

    Derek

    Do not forget that the DNS resolution works for the name VC and ESX.

    Make sure also that you can reach Internet of VC and ESX.

  • Only one Integrator for export csv to table and update the table?

    Hello
    I have a requirement where I need to create a single Integrator for export data in the CSV file into a custom oracle table and also use the same Integrator to download and update the custom table data. Is it possible to do this in a single Integrator.

    Thank you
    Kishore

    Yes you can do it.

    You must create a type of UPDATE metadata Integrator.

    First time:

    Custom table is empty.

    WEB ADI will download a blank Excel sheet. Copy the data from the CSV file and paste this Excel.Then download this file that will update the Integrator.

    A sample example is as follows:

    web_adi_pkg.main (param_1, param_2,... param_n)
    download_data;
    upload_data;

    Download data-> select query to download the data (select * from custom_table)
    Download the data-> insert into custom_table where NOT EXISTS (select 1 from custom_table where primary_key = primary_key_col_from_csv)
    update of custom_table where there are (select 1 from custom_table where primary_key = primary_key_col_from_csv)

    Please try above logic.

    In the section of hierarchies, at least one account must be attached to the root. It would appear as a member name, preceded only by a semicolon:

    ; AccountMemberName

    In this example, there is no parent at AccountMemberName - it is simply a member of the root.

  • Question "writes metadata XMP was not entirely successful.

    Hi all

    I use Lightroom for a bit now. I am now on V2.5.  I just did a new generation of system and therefore reinstalled Win Vista 32.  My photos and the XMP files are on a separate external drive and I recorded my catalog file (most done a backup).  When I reinstall Lightroom and did the updates, I copied then the old catalog file 2 to the right place.  All my photos were there with changes, no problem.  I did this several times now, when I had to reinstall the operating system for various reasons. Never had an isuse

    This time, I went back to change some data in status on a photo I took before the reinstall.  When I went to update metadata, I get a message that says 'writing XMP metadata has not completed successfully.  I looked in the bridge and the data was not updated.  This happens for all my FIRST photos taken prior to the relocation.  I can make fine changes but cannot get the XMP to write.

    Bridge will not make the changes. I tried to change the label aside and star color and it does nothing.

    For files that I imported after reinstalling, everything works fine.

    It's like the old XMPs are locked or programs can not find them.  I can see them in the file manager so that they are all there.

    Any ideas on the problem and how to fix it?

    The files are indeed locked?

    An appeal may be all just delete .xmp files and write them force. Try it first on a modest record.

  • negative offshoot of our plan of loading in the cache (OPGCACHESIZE)

    The size of our plan is 20 MB. We put our plan cache using 20 MB of paging size OPGCACHESIZE. It was 10MB.

    Our time of restructuring seems to have dropped to 10 dry.

    Anyone know if there is any negative offshoot of our loading plan in the cache?  That slow metadata updated contours using rules of charge?

    Thank you.

    I can talk about the charge of updates/metadata by using the rule files - it must technically improvise the situation rather than slow down updates metadata.

    I can't show any teacher, but in fact we need to increase the OPGCACHESIZE and monitor all possible actions at the request of ASO.

    But I found a doc (supporting up to a certain extent what I mean). Error 'Services 1130203 analytical error number. Cannot save the outline. "When running a load of Member (Doc ID 783957.1)
