Using scanjet G4050 HP scanning 35mm slide

A week ago, I bought a HP scanjet G4050. I bought to digitize old 35mm slides, I chose this model because it was written, I could scan 16 slides at the same time, but I can't find a software that can do!

Please help me!

My operating system is Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

Sorry for my bad English, I write from the Italy.

Thank you very much in advance for your answer!

Sorry for my bad English but I'm Italian and my English is not very good!

I solved my problem, I "reset" my mac, so I downloaded this driver

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4159 & LC = IT & CC = IT & DLC = IT & sw_lang = & Product = 3236377 #n177

and I bought vuescan standard edition (because with the free, it did not work) and now I can scan slide 16 in order!

I save in 1200 dpi and for all slides 16 it takes more or less 50 minutes, sometimes, it seems that the scanner is stuck, but I think the problem is that my mac is not powerful enough to image realignment process takes a lot of time.

I dug up a treasure box of old 35mm slides from 50-70 ' ies.  Problem is that I can not understand how say that scans the slide or to look through, incidentally, without in mirror image.  The slides that have alpha-numeric characters in the background are fairly easy, but those who don't kill me. Hoping someone here can give me some advice!  Thanks in advance.

If they have been processed by Kodak and Kodak cardboard supports, the logo goes away from you when you look at the slide. In the case of plastic materials, they are often embossed with the text ' this side screen "on one side, or have some other difference evident between front and rear. I would take a peek at those you know are facing the right way and then others based on those in the case of similar media.

The Photosmart 2610xi can scan 35 mm slides?

    Hi tobyz95,

The 2610xi doesn't have the ability to scan slide 33mm.

  • Digitization of slides on Scanjet 4850 vs Scanjet G4050 photo scanner

Have new Dell desktop running Windows 8.1, 64.  Old scanner photo HP Scanjet 4850, already used with Windows XP Media Edition, still works on the prints photo, but cannot scan 35 mm slides.  You are considering buying Scanner Photo HP Scanjet G4050 but first need to know if it is completely compatible with Windows 8.1 and so will scan my slides.

    Hello

I would first try a 3rd party application like VueScan analysis he Joanie support the digitization of slides and can provide you with a current workaround for your Scanjet 4850 solution, you can install a free trial first and check if this might do the trick for you:

    http://www.Hamrick.com/VueScan/hp_scanjet_4850c.html

Other than that, the G4050 support the digitization of slides and fully supported on Windows 8.1 with full feature software below:

  • Use hp officejet 5610 all in one and hp scanjet g4050 (the two usb) on the same computer

Have an officejet 5610 that I used for years to digitize documents, faxes, printing and copying on Acer computer with windows XP. Recently, I moved my scanner flatbed scanjet g4050 wifes to my computer to scan photos and negatives. The problem is when I install the G4050, I can scan is no longer with my Officejet 5610. Get an error message; "An error occurred just by contacting the HP imaging device. Try the following steps. Turn off and unplug for 60 seconds. The cord is properly attached. Reset. Uninstall and reinstall the device. Reinstallation of photosmart software.  Have tried all these. Does not help unless I have uninstall and remove the two devices and reinstall officejet 5610 ONLY. If I reinstall G4050 default folder which is recommended for multiple hp devices work properly then the 5610 can sweep is no longer. Error message as above. Running scan doctor and it says that there is a problem of façade. Go to the solution Center, click settings, scan settings, scan to Setup. When I click scan to Setup, I get the same error message as above. Both devices appear in the HP Solution Center each with its own tab. Is it possible to use these two devices on the same computer?

These two devices will not be able to work together. The ScanJet uses a newer than the 5610 software the 5610 will not work with. You can try to install the ScanJet, then the 5610, but I don't think it will help. I'm sure that just does not allow two devices on the same computer because the software conflict. I'm sorry.

  • HP scanjet G4050: habit of scanning the dark negs. (the Moon in the dark sky)

Just got my Scanner HP Scanjet G4050, love it so far. It analyzes all of my negatives, those I have which is mainly at night. Example: The Moon is in a dark night, or night scenes, the negs are mainly white with dark, either above or under presentations, spots do not understand this area.  any help out there? Thank you

Sorry for wasting your time. It was scanning all the negs after all. I just had to move the selection to the negs were not selected by scanner. All inclusive and I thank you. I scanned over 100 negs and it works fine, just a little slow, but life should slow doen.

  • ScanJet G4050: Desktop unable to see the drivers for Scanjet G4050

I have a ScanJet G4050 that I can't make it work with my desktop computer (HP ENVY 700 - 210xt CTO desktop PC). The Office seems to think that there are no drivers for the device.

I've recently updated for Windows 10 of 8.1. I had not connected the scanner before update (yes I know) so I honestly do not know if she would have connected before.

I ran software installation from the disc, and then downloaded and installed software linked from the info Windows 10 on HP website.  Nada.

My Device Manager Office lists the HP scanner which I assume is due to the installation of the software detects not the scanner because I told

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no compatible driver for this device.

Watching the news on the events tab for the device, it is said

    USB\VID_03F0 & PID_4605\CN48JCB18105 device has been migrated.

    Device's last Instance Id: USB\VID_03F0 & PID_4605\CN48JCB18105
    The class GUID: {6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
    Path:
    Migration status: 0x0
    Present: false

I guess ' present: false "means that the device is not seen by Device Manager.

Just in an act of desperation, I switched the USB cable in case it was bad, nada.

OK, I'm completely and totally frustrated... and ideas.  If someone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.  Pay $99 for technical support of time on a $180 scanner is not really profitable.

    @ErinContour

OK, well - the information on the pages of the Web site support has been around since at least 2006 - so if the scanner is not believed, it seems at least some support information has been around for some time.

    I don't have the answer...

    ErinContour wrote:

This scanner is aged a year... so little vintage. I mentioned, I installed the scanner, I installed the complete software off the drive before you download and update the software using the Windows 10 link on the HP site. I have the guide to the user, which in the circumstances is singularly useless.

Still not clear. I guess I misunderstood - do not remove the existing printer software before installing the replacement defined on HP website.  Assuming you have done this, then 'all good '.

Maybe it's nothing other than Windows 10 no no not necessary routines in place to support the scanner software.

User guides vary - most recently, I think the documentation has improved substantually.  Unfortunately, in my opinion, a lot of the old guides (this one circa 2006) are not as including the type of information desired by many users / owners of the devices.  NOTE: This is a personal opinion only; I speak NOT of HP.

There is a tool that you can try:

HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

No idea if the doctor will know what is happening.  Although imperfect, it is a good program...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

If the scanner is connected physically and that the computer is aware of this connection and know the type of material, then you might be able to use a software program of scanning solution.

  • ScanJet g4050 does nothing

Reading all the other posts here, I maybe made a mistake buying this thing.   I had a 4890 which was working fine until I get to Win 7 64 bit.

I had this Scanjet G4050 for Christmas and have yet to scan anything.

I spent 3 days trying to get this thing to be analysed.  I have loaded and reloaded the software probably a dozen times from disk.  I always uninstall the old version first.   I tried the software downloaded, basic and full.  I have started and restarted several times.  I have disabled the anti-virus programs.  I disconnected and reconnected the cables all several times.   I get several different messages.  At the same time, I got a message says "software launched with invalid command line argument.  I have not seen that since my back.

Here's what's happening.  I install the software, the message says software successfully installed.  Click on the HP scanning icon who bring up the configuration of the scanner box.  My main need is pictures and slides, but no matter what I put in place, when I click on scan, the box disappears.  about 30 seconds later, a box pops up saying a software component was not found or not installed properly.  By clicking the sign more little come with this code/message. -8, [(2146959355, 0)].  I noticed many others also got this number, but haven't seen any fixes.

New computer with Windows 7 Home Premium, ram 8 GB, AMD 8 processor cores, lots of disk space

Any suggestions as to what is my next step.  Thank you

    Lynn

I hope that the last post for a while.

After not having the back call that I was promised yesterday, I called them this morning.   Again, they have promised to call back and this time they did, in about 15 minutes.  I spoke

Chris and explains the problem.  I gave him control of the computer so that he could play.  He asked a few questions and they tried the installation and the operation itself.

It uninstalled the software and tried again without success.  It then uninstalled again.  Then he went into the registry and remove all instances of the G4050 and remnants of my old scanner software.  I guess on a hundred entries.  I have changed the front register, but who did not connect with my problem.  Then, it insured that my virus program was off and my firewall.

After almost 2 hours, it tells me to restart and try again.  I think he needs a break.  I have re-load the software and everything works fine.  He recalled 15 minutes to check that it worked.  He is not sure 100% that was the main problem, but certainly said if I re - install the solfware, make sure that the antivirus program is disabled and if off firewall.

I did a few scanned photos and slides and they look great.  I just teach it where to store the new scans.

    Now I'm happy again.

    Lynn

PS: If you get more problems like that, recommend the firewall and virus programs.

  • ScanJet G4050 software does not open on my MC 10.9

I try 10.6 and it opens either.   This is my first try at loading the software HP SCANJET G4050.

    Dan,

The complete solution for the unavailable G4050 since for Mac OS X 10.6.  But we have published a solution that uses the image transfer application that is built into Mac OS X.  This solution continues to work in the Mavericks.

You can download the ICA from here:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=CS-112996-2&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=219&product=3236377&sw_lang=

If you have not previously used Image Capture, here's a doc of Apple with a brief description.

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/PH14249

With respect to Mac OS 10.6... the main reason, I see that the error is if you have installed HP scanning and ICA solution at the same time.  The two solutions cannot be used on the same computer.

  • HP Scanjet G4050 - where is the complete software for Windows 8.1?

Where is the complete software and drivers for Scanjet G4050, for use with the Windows 8.1, 64-bit operating system?  I hate going back to have only the bare basic software and the functionality of the driver.

    Hello

According to any documentaion, there should be a complete software functionality for Windows 8.1.

I assumed that the full client software was wrongly not attributed to 8.1 Windows, I guess it should support it due the last date of update for this installation.

I also tried to check by launching the installer... the system check was placed very well on Win 64-bit 8.1, without any error incompatibility...

Try to install the software from the following link and check to see if that can help you:
