Updates hung to "Configuring updates 3/3"

A week ago, our computer, Vista, downloaded a great update from Microsoft. I started installation and left for work. When I got home, ten hours later, he was suspended on "Configuring updates 3/3". He finished at 0%. I turned off the computer, restarted and I got the same thing. I tried booting in safe mode and restore from a previous point and nothing works, I still get the same error. Is anyway to fix this without wiping system and start over? This happened with another update of Microsoft a little over a year, just after I bought the computer. At that time, it wasn't a big deal since I had it only for a few weeks. Can someone please?

Boot from the WIndows DVD and go into repair options and start the command prompt and run this:

DISM.exe / image: C: \ / cleanup-image /revertpendingactions

(Replace C:\ with the pilot where your Windows is installed).

This restores all pending updates, and you should restart your windows.

Laptop from my dad recently started showing "configuration updates 3/3" followed back changes not configured message. It is on a continuous while loop that will sometimes allow windows Vista Home Premium to start. I checked the history of update and the first failure is KB2296011 which shows the error code 800F0816.  Currently, I have his laptop but cannot access the internet because it does not connect to the internet via my network (do not have the knowledge necessary for to be difficulty)

Can someone help me solve this recurring problem. If necessary I will be able to access the internet on the laptop question but would like to know a solution offline if possibel. I don't want to pay Microsoft Help for the answer. I'm not very literate pc so a simple solution would be better.

800F0816 - express package has not been completely downloaded. The status of the operation was recorded while the package is downloaded. An express package is a package that you are installing by using Windows Update. With these packages, only the files needed for that specific computer are downloaded and installed (unlike when all is downloaded to a computer).

For a 'solution offline' you can try to manually download each update to the computer you are currently using and then transfer to the portable touched with a USB key.
Then see if they install correctly. Given that we do not know all the edits concerned... open Windows Update in Control Panel, and then click View update history link to see updates try to install.
Note that the KB numbers are updated and post them in this thread or,
go to the Microsoft Download Center, enter the KB numbers in the field to Search all Download Center , click the magnifying glass to search and download for Vista updates that correspond to the architecture of the system. (The architecture of the system is displayed when you open System in Control Panel and look at the side of System: type.)

Save updates. When the downloads have finished, close the browser and all other open programs and install them one at a time. Suggest that each time you are prompted to restart.

    Hello there,
I desperately need help... I don't want to have to reload Vista Home Premium and all my software and get all authenticated (which total galley is the procedure!) once again. I installed the latest Java today from Java.com and everything seems to work very well. Latyer on I started the installer of my software to sync Western Digital and after that I said which files to sync to my removable drive from the hung computer. I thought that after 1/2 hour It sinply would not go anywhere, so I used Ctrl-alt-del to cancel then restarted and Western digital software.

Now my computer is going in circles. It goes like this:

    -power on
    -beep system
    -Microsoft animation line starts
    -screen goes black
    -Orb appears
    -"Curtain" screen comes on saying:

Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3-0% complete
Do not turn off your computer

    -system reboots

And it just happens again and again and again. He never at my office. I tried starting with the last start of 'good', safe

mode and I went to my vista cd and made routine repairs, but all without success.

Can it be fixed without having to do a major resettlement me?

    Thanks for your help.

I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

  • Configurator Apple can't update > s 5 iPhones

    Hello

I received a mysterious problem with my apple Configurator:

All iPhones that are newer than the 5s cannot be updated.

    Here are the facts:

-Apple Conifgurator 2 (latest version) on Mac OS 10.11.6

    -Works great with iPhone 4/5/5s

-Does not work with 6/6 s / SE

-The update fails every time I connect the iPhone to my iTunes (on my Windows PC) and restore it.
(ITunes on my Mac was not able to restore the iPhone). Since then Apple Configurator works very well.

Here's what I tried to conquer this problem:

-Improved the configurator to Apple to version 2.

-Make a complete new installation of Mac OS X.

    -Tried a new cable.

All these things do not change.

    Does anyone know this problem?

    Thanks for any help.

    Best regards

  • How to configure Firefox to get always the newest updates of content.

Site updated. Open Firefox, went to the site and displays the older version. Made of the research. Found this problem is known and clear cache allows the update of content to display. But this is not a permanent solution and should even do whenever I want to see content recently updated. You want to configure the settings of the browser to always retrieve updates.
    Thank you!!

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)
  • How do I keep everything: the configuration settings for update firefox?

Really appreciate all the hard work of creating updates, but every time I update I lose my remarks: the configuration parameters, especially the browser.tab that I trust. Specifically, I use the default on InsertRelatedAfterCurrent and all the ones warning settings. (I don't want to be notified). I also use the tabs on the background plugin which needs to be reinstalled after major updates. I run Firefox at least 4 separate machines is a pretty huge headache of having to reconfigure after each update. Is there a way to tell Firefox to date but only change my settings back to the defaults?

    Thanks for a great browser.

These settings should not be lost...

Is it possible that you used refresh? Sometimes after an update installs Firefox displays a message that it runs very slowly and you can improve performance by restoring the default settings. Running the update function, which is your default settings and delete all your extensions (those you have installed in Firefox yourself, not those that have been added by other software on your system). The telltale sign is that an old Firefox data file appears on your desktop with the 'old' settings folder inside. If you have experienced this on several occasions, there may be several former folders inside. What is the explanation?

You can create a backup of your prefs.js file that stores your Firefox preferences updated, before your next update. You can find this file in the folder of the settings (profile) currently active Firefox as follows (either):

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Scroll down and make a copy of prefs.js (or he can watch prefs and a JScript file type) in a safe place such as your documents folder.

  • Why is Firefox always update my browser when it is configured to never updated?

Three months if you are using Firefox version 15.01 I asked the same question (which is still published here on Firefox support at > > https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/933437?esab=a & s = why + does + firefox + update + my + browser & r = 7 & as = s < <) I was wondering why my browser has been updated despite being configured to never update and told me.

All 15 Firefox are beta right now. The Stable of Firefox version (now) is Firefox 14.0.1. Go to www.getfirefox.comand download the final version of Firefox it. Uninstall the beta version and then install the downloaded.* version you

I've apologized for my ignorance and passed to the most recent stable version 16.01 and faithful to the word of Firefox Support, did not have my browser updated since... last few days when I first noticed the browser has been configured to be updated. I was overwhelmed by this discovery, but let it go, leaving some one-time glitch. But when I logged in again, the configuration ever update that I put my Firefox version 16.01 was still once configured to have set browser to date.

I'm logged on and outside many times since and every time despite having set to never to be updated was in a position to update.

So my question is, despite the use of the stable version of 16.01, how can I stop Firefox update my browser and even more annoying, how I've let him walk back after that I have disable the browser up-to-date?

I love Firefox too never give it up, don't like Chrome, certainly not, IE what version
    a Firefox user since 2005.

Any help, assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Hello

You can try adjusting the settings in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > Update. If your settings are not saved, please see this.

    Options

Please note that software or software security of third-party update can also include features to turn of the precarious parameters in various Windows applications in the recommended settings. So, you will also need to check that.

  • Qosmio G30-126 - BIOS is not able, updated on this configuration

    Hello people

I have a problem with my computer where the Toshiba Service has replaced my motherboard. (a lack of display adapter).
I now have the computer but the BIOS is very old, Version 1.90. I downloaded the latest version of the Toshiba site which is 3.90.
When I try to update I get the message "error. BIOS update is failed. BIOS can not be upgraded on this configuration.

I have Windows 7 and all run in administrator mode.
I boot the WinPE CD, but still not able to do any update to the BIOS level.

The old BIOS does not support USB boot and has other issues that make the upgrade, an important factor.

An assumption I made is that the BIOS should be upgraded by small steps, i.e. the version of 1.60 to 1.70 etc until I arrive at 3.90.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

First of all why do you this update? Is it really necessary or do you see a reason for this? If this isn't the case, forget this update. It of really not necessary!

In any case, the BIOS update you can do if you correct all files in archive zip first. Run the update as an administrator, and then close all running programs.

You wrote that you try this update on Windows 7, what is happening on the preinstalled OS from Toshiba?
