Updates Windows 7 put Windows does not initialize

After that installation of current update (14/01/2011) my Windows 7 Pro is not initialized. I had to remove the updates in safe mode.

No idea what's going on. Is this an update of buggy?

Thank you

Thanks for your help. Curiously, after installing and uninstalling 2 times, it finally installed the last time and there is no problem. Maybe he had to do with the order, that updates have been through. Weird.

Thank you

  • Windows does not start after the update...

Hope someone can help with this,

I just installed the update sp1 for my computer for Windows Vista Premium Home dir all installed with no problems, but when I restarted my pc, Windows wouldn't start. The only thing that is on display is a black screen with Windows Error Recovery on top, then he said "Windows does not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I tried to restart it in different ways, but nothing. Then he said: I have to insert my OS drive to try to fix, but that's not even start. Everyone knows about this problem? This has happened right after that I installed the update...

    L.Butler,
Are you able to boot from your Vista DVD or recovery partion and run the Startup Repair tool?  If you do not have a Vista disc so make sure that your computer is configured to boot from the CD drive before booting from the hard drive.  Once you start with support for Vista select the "Repair your computer" option and first run "Startup Repair".  If that is not correct the problem then boot with Vista support and select the option "System Restore" and choose a date prior to the update install.
Once you are able to boot normally again, then I suggest that you are looking for virus\malware.  SP1 was released in April 2008.  So if you install earlier means there may be other problems on your system.  If you have a backup of your current personal data then I recommend to do a clean restore to install\factory.  Then immediately install antivirus software, and then do all Windows updates before installing other software. • Windows does not start normally after Windows Update

My computer does not seem to start more. Whenever it starts, it makes to the 'Starting Windows' screen, and then my screen goes black. My primary monitor does not receive a response, but my second monitor stays on until the computer restarts again. This happened last night after that my computer shuts down for the first time in a few weeks to install windows updates from July. I had updated windows to try to fix something with iTunes, which might have something to do with my problem. My computer was not showing any other kind of problem before that.

    Here are some other details:

    * I use Windows 7 Home Premium (Microsoft Windows Version 6.1.7601)

    * Windows does not load with normal settings but will load in safe mode.

    * System Restore never works in the system recovery (a non specifiederror occurred during system restore.) ((0x800700b7))  and sometimes says it works when I do it in safemode, but solves nothing. Yes, I tried using different restore points.

    * I think that my roots of the problem in the fact that I tried to restore my phone, but the computer could not install the drivers correctly.

    * Startup Repair does not detect it.

Attempt to sfc/scannow in command prompt returns two different answers: "there is a system repair pending whice requires the restart ends.» Restart Windows and run sfc. "during the attempt to system recovery and" Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and managed to fix their. " Details are provided in convertible bonds. Journal windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log"in Safe Mode with command prompt.

  • Satellite P300-28th does not start - windows does not load

I bought Toshiba P300 28th last week. I spent Vista business successfully in Windows XP Professional with provided Toshiba DVD. Update Windows with Windows Update. After 3 days, laptop turns off suddenly, and because Windows does not start, it in fact does not start.

When I press the power button / stop, it turns on, shows "Toshiba Leading Innovation" logo image option and "2", "press 12...", and it hangs and stops.
I tried pressing F2 and F12, nothing happened.

I can not access the boot menu.

I put the Toshiba Recovery CD, the hard drive does not work. Recovery disk does not start, despite earlier I remember put boot CD/DVD at the forefront in the Boot Options to Boot Menu.

I checked everything, power cable, took the battery in and replace after 3 hours, tried to turn on the portable power, without battery cable. Did not help.

    Don't know what to do?

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Fiona

If you are unable to enter the BIOS (F2) at startup settings there must be some serious hardware problem.
I recommend to contact your local dealer where you bought this laptop and ask for help, or you can contact Toshiba service provider directly.

What you have tried to do is good but if laptop doesn t allow you to enter parameters of the BIOS something wrong here, and you need professional help.

  • Portege R830 - Windows does not start after I have install Comodo Firewall

    Good afternoon

I bought today a Portege R830, and after the Windows configuration, the first program that I installed was the popular free Comodo Firewall. After that I restarted, Windows 7 unbootable. It would be stuck on the user login screen and I know it's a problem with the firewall because if I do a system restore to the restore point created by Setup of firewall, windows restarts.

So I ask if there is any inconsistency between the firewall and software on the Toshiba. A that someone already had this problem? I tried to solve this problem throughout the day with no results. I even re-installed Windows 7 using the Toshiba Recovery and the problem persists. I really like the Comodo and I want this firewall on my laptop, but Windows does not just start!

    Any help would be apreciated.

    Hi jillefsky,.

Have you disabled the Windows Firewall before you start with the installation of Comodo Firewall? As far as I know, Portege R830 is delivered with preinstalled McAfee security software and you must remove this program before you install other security tools.

Generally this has nothing to do with Toshiba and it s advisable to contact Comodo directly. They may know about this so they can give you a proper answer.

But I put t understand why this program is so important to you. Windows already has an internal firewall so that these programs are not necessary in my opinion. Just install a good antivirus like AntiVir and enable the automatic updates of Windows. All that s!

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones

  • Windows does not when you try to copy files from a micro sd using a T-flash card

I have never had any problems to copy files to a flash drive in the past, but recently, I encountered this problem. Windows Vista, connected to the flash player, open the folder, dragged 1 file, and copied correctly. Attempted to copy a second file and he hung up then says windows does not. I pushed cancel and it also says windows does not. He would not cancel function so I went to the Manager of tasks to complete, but without success. I had to reboot the computer, I have tried to reboot several times and tried to copy but without success. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Hello

The same information on the key USB applies to map drives
so do not put all the files and folders to the root of the drive.

Have you tried the card in other card readers? Sometimes the reformatting
    the map will refresh it.

    ======================================================

It is the troubleshooter for the readers of SD cards which of course is very similar.

If you can not get the card reader to work, it can be replaced or an external card reader is not
    Dear.

They go bad sometimes. Try these:

/ Settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start then look at the screen - make sure that the USB port is enabled.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel - Device Manager - hard disk - drive SD card or similar - double click - tab driver-
Click on update drivers (this likely will do nothing that MS is far behind the certifying drivers) then right click
    following the UNINSTALL.

Now bring the controllers USB - right click - UNINSTALL everything in category one at time EXCEPT
the category itself - REBOOT. This will refresh the USB driver stack.

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

    Do 1 above.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, as well as
all USB devices that you previously used. Run Options and check the 1st three choices to see if one is
it. you can remove all instances of the drive and restart again.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/usb_devices_view.html

Start - type in the search box - Windows Disk - find Windows Disk Management on the list above.
Right-click - look RUN AS ADMIN to see if there is a drive letter assigned or a conflict.

Check with the manufacturer of your system for the updated drivers - some card readers to do not use windows
    drivers.

    Hello

First of all, make sure that your system is clean:

    using the analysis

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/ (recommended)

If you have anti antivirus program update it and run full scan or if you do not get this one:
    AVG Free http://www.avg.com/gb-en/download-free-anti-virus

Note that anti virus as Noroton and Mcafee tend to slow down your pc at startup and to work with your pc so if other steps has not helped your case, consider switching to other anti virus.

    Do using the analysis:

    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/EEK/ recommended

You can run it from memory stick too.

"It is recommended to perform all analysis in safe mode.

Make sure your system is clean first. use ccleaner to get rid of junkfiles http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Make sure your windows is uptodate and drivers work correctly and that they are as uptodate.

Try to clean boot to see which program is causing your pc run slow or unresponsive

    Statement here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Basically, it must disable all startup items and services of NONE-Windows through msconfig, and then restart your pc and then put it in standby or idle mode and see if the problem is resolved?

Try to run less program in your startup, minimize your startup program. You can do this either by using the msconfig tool / ccleaner.

Make sure you drive for errors. Perform disk clean up and Defrag using windows tools.

    Test your windows files

  • Windows does not recognize CDRWDVD PBDS DH-48C2S as a CD burner

    Hi all

As it is said in the topic I have CD burning problems as Windows does not recognize my drive as a CD burner.

    First my system:

    Dell Optiplex 755

    Intel Core 2 Duo

    E6750 @ 2 .66GHz

    980 MB RAM

    XP Pro SP2

When I put a CD - RW in the drive is not recognized at all (when clicking on the drive in Windows Explorer, once the disk in it says "D:\ is not accessible.  Incorrect function. »).  I put no Virgin CD in the drive and browse the content very well via Windows Explorer.  Another reason why I know that Windows does not recognize the drive as a CD burner, it is that when I open Windows Media Player and click on burn, he says the following above the Virgin to burn: "connect a burner and restart the player.

The drive appears as working properly in Device Manager.  I think the problem is that it uses the generic drivers following windows that appear not to be CD RW drivers:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\imapi.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\storprop.dll

It isn't a hardware problem, since we have three of these exact same new computers with the same model CD/DVD drive and the problem exists on all three PCs (so the probability that each have three new PC a failed drive is tiny).

Unfortunately I can't find a updated driver/firmware update for this model of hard drive anywhere on this site or when I googled the model.  I tried uninstalling the drive through Device Manager, then restart the computer so that Windows reinstall it but the problem persists.

Anyone know how to fix this?  Can someone point me to a generic Windows XP CD RW driver because that might solve the problem?

    Thank you.
