Upgrade C40

Hello

Currently our Codec C40 is 4.2.1 version, I can go directly to the 5.1? We require a license for the new version?

I already downloaded the s52000tc5_1_7.pkg.

Our VCS is X7.1.

The upgrade to software version TE6 you won't need to enter a key license but for any major update as of TC4 TC5 and TC5 TC6 in requires a valid license key.

    Hello

I have been the scene of c20 upgrades via the GUI and CPC, 4.x > 5.1.1 > > 7.3.2 7.1.1 hopping. 3rd party support told me that this is the way to upgrade the C20s.

I struggled to find any documentation to confirm this upgrade path to 7.3.2. I'm about to proceed to the upgrade C40s and 60 with SX / EX / models MX.

I'm looking for the validation of the document confirm how best to spend to 7.3.2 on all of the above models.

I looked at the release notes do not seem to talk about any version of jump requirement.

    Thank you

    B

You can go directly to the current version of the TC software without having to jump several releases to get there.  You'll just need to get the keys to unlocking the Cisco Licensing Portal TC7.x and apply it on the codecs, before doing the upgrade.  Applying the unlock key invites you to restart, you can disregard and go directly to download TC as the upgrade to restart anyway endpoint and apply the release key at the same time.

Note, it is important that you read well ALL the TC release notes for the current version, you have up to TC7.  There are several versions where changes have been made that could be important to you.  Some of these changes are:

    • TC5.x - required serial connection is by default enabled (important only if you use control 3rd party such as Crestron or AMX systems)
    • TC6.x - layouts have changed, especially when using two screens with presentation and selfview.
    • TC7.x - Root access has been removed (I noticed that mention you SCP that requires root access), also instantaneous behavior has changed over the previous day.

    Nice day

I currently have intermittent problems between a codec C40 and my MCU. When the device is composed in the bridge it does not have audio or video, it passes however.

There is no shortage of receive audio or video when composed through SIP (MCU) or dial directly from another endpoint via H323.

The unit was stable until I upgraded to TC6.2.0. I upgraded C40s all across the country and no other issues brought to the point. The problem persisted after that I get the system back to 6.1.2.

After the failure of the downgrade I upgraded to 6.2.0 and resetting the device. Once reset, I did a restore of the TMS system.

The unit is problematic since the installation. I have known problems that the unit could not pick up thermometers grounded which caused the device past security mode and increase the speed of the fans. In order to solve the problem, I upgraded the software twice. Currently, the unit may not in standby mode.  I also found the camera freezes and needs a reboot to restore functionality.

    System details:

    C40: TC6.2.0.20b1616

    MSE 8510: 4.4 (3.42)

    VCS C/E: X7.2.2

  • Backup of configuration Cisco Codec C40

    Dear all,

Can I know how to take backup of the configuration of the Cisco Codec C40, please?

And also help me with the document of the administrator?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Syed

You can simply copy the output of the xConfiguration and paste it into the SSH client.  You may need to change the output a bit to get the correct formatting, however.  For example, the output registered since my SHH client contains a preceding * c which must be removed before that I can stick again in the SSH client:

    *c xConfiguration Video Wallpaper: Waves
When you perform a software update, codec configuration, including the keys installed option is not affected and will remain in the process. Keys options include Premium (PR), double (DD) display resolution and Multisite (MS). C40 has been end of sales since June 2015, so it is not possible to order anything for this, see eos-eol-notice-c51-733467. Procedure to upgrade the software codec is on pg 28, the same page mentioned in my previous answer. To upgrade codec software, you will need a release key when switching from one major version to another, as TC5 to TC7. You can request a release of the Cisco Licensing Portal key > obtain other Licenses > telepresence free software key, as long as the device has an active support contract. If you do not have an active support contract, you can contact TAC and get the free unlock key by referencing the Security Advisory cisco-sa-20160504-tpxml, which you can get a key to unlocking TC7.

    Patrick,

My guess is that your endpoint is sitting with a public ip address and the sip scanning applications such as SipVicious are used to detect the possibilities to exploit the PSTN circuits. This may cause your end point to the research as he calls himself.

Of the endpoint, you must define outgoing SIP listening off port and Sip it so that the VCS can still reach the end point.

    xConfiguration SIP ListenPort: Off

xConfiguration SIP profile 1 out: on

Deactivation of ListenPort stops to the endpoint to listen on port 5060/5061. Enabling means leaving all incoming and outgoing calls will reuse the connection open for the endpoint of the VCS in the original SIP Register message.

There are a few changes in TC6.2 to solve this problem. Before TC6.2, if you had the ListenPort on stop and coming out on, this combination of configuration did not always work as expected.

I would like to make these changes on the endpoint and the upgrade to TC6.2 If you can.

This is the id of the bug you can watch for that matter: CSCue55239

  • Call SIP with Tandberg C40

I have a Cisco Tandberg C40 codec and have been making H.323 calls for an organization with no problems.  The organization is now making changes and demanding that I connect to them with their new SIP address.  When I try to connect, it is said immediately that the call could not be connected.  What are the requirements for placing a SIP call with the Tandberg C40?

    Assuming your C40 has the version of the TC6.x software;

go to network found under Control Panel Services and enable SIP.

Don't forget of check that SIP is selected as the Protocol to call when calling this company that the default calling Protocol can be set to H.323, SIP and H.320, so if only make you SIP calls, and then upgrade the SIP, but if you do mostly H.323 calls, then put to H.323, and select SIP among the options of appeal when the dial - or even more easily, add this address to the local directory with specified as a SIP call Protocol.

Just turning on SIP will allow you to make outgoing SIP calls, however, if this company wants to call you, then they can call you only using the public IP address of your system - and they could even not able to do according to their deployment, policies, etc.

If you want people to be able to call you using a SIP URI as [email protected] / * /, then you need to register your system with a Registrar SIP CUCM, VCS - C, etc. and also have SRV SIP records in place.

  • C - series C40 do not accept static IP address them

We have a C40 CSeries who won't accept the static IP address, we have assigned.  I tried to change the static DHCP and back, sometimes restart between changes, but he won't use the static address, we are trying to give him.  We have another codec in the same place that I copied all the network settings (subnet and gateway), to ensure that they voted for this location.  I even tried to upgrade the codec (TC5.1.3 and TC5.1.4) while DHCP and then switch to static, reboot, however always the same results.

    Any ideas, thank you.

    Hello

    Implementation of interfaces

Ethernet speed: speed set to auto for eth0

Maybe the /etc/init.d/S16network script detects question?

It can print errors as follows:

echo 'Static IP selected, but no game of skill.  Use the DHCP protocol.

Or other messages. Please check/var/log/console for errors...

    • Experimental section is missing

      • Which means that I can not remove the error message 8 Tough wrong on my C40 which has no touchscreen
    • Release key field is missing maintenance-> upgrade to the software section

Experimental has been removed from the web gui, but you can stil CLI it if you wish.  If you know the name of the field, you are looking for, you can just type the search button in the GUI and it will show again.

If you switch to TC7, RK are not mandatory for the upgrades more spent TC6.2 I think, if you have a key for TC6 +, you should be good for other upgrades, but confirm.

  • matching codec c40 with ISDN link problem

    Hello world

Would really appreciate if someone can help me with my problem.

I have 2 sites. Each site has a c40 codec which is connected to a cisco ISDN link box. Each box contains 3 BRI connections. The system is essentially set up at the video-conference from one site to the other. C40 codecs have been paired with boxes of ISDN link manually due to the old firmware. Now that the firmware has been upgraded on all devices, I am trying to pair the codec with the ISDN link using the 'auto' mode so I can configure the ISDN codec c40 GUI link.

The problem I have is that when I pair it in auto mode, the ISDN link is seen by the codec and matched succesffuly but I get an "error" and the reason for the error is "no sip registered to peripheral H320" or something of the sort. The rest of the configuration is the same, all im doing is pairing in auto mode. At this point, I can't do a video call-out. Can I make changes to the GUI hoewever c40 ISDN link and it shows as paired.

When I change the sip profile out to 'off' in the sip codec c40 profile settings, now, there is no error. The sip profile in the ISDN link area is also set to off.

Can someone help me what are the correct settings for outgoing SIP and the above error message please. It will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Outgoing SIP should be turned off if you use the ISDN codec liaison, so please meke it took off.

for the composition, should not use composition commnad complex that you scoop with TC 5.x and IT 1.0,

With TC 6.x just enter number and select protocol H320.

  • C40 DualDisplay fails in the Conference.

    Hello

C40 TC6.0.0.876266 running with the DualDisplay option.

When during a conference through MCU, the content is still displayed in the PIP on the first screen,

instead of the content on the second output.

Whenever not in the conference via MCU, the content will the second screen.

Is there something missing in the C40 or MCU to configure this option, or is this a limit?

    Best regards

    JC

SIP does not support content encrypted prior to version 4.5. If you run 4.4 or earlier and make SIP calls encrypted, there is a limitation where content can be displayed in the main video channel and not in its own channel.  See the limitations section in the MCU 4.4 Release Notes for more details. Encryption of the ether must be turned off the coast of the upgrade to version 4.5, as it contains a fix for SIP encrypted calls using content, see pg 3 of the covering 4.5 MCU memo.

  • Update codec C20/C40 cisco to 6.1.2 meetings lost contact with cisco

So I improved a few Cisco C40 codec C20 5.1.6 to 6.1.2 the process was smooth.   He updated the device of the codec and cameras, but once the upgrade has completed, the touch screen of cisco lost all meetings.  Is there a way to put all meetings (from outlook calendars) of cisco press?

A mixture of CUCM and TMS is not really possible.

In any case, which concerned the TMS, can you set a password for the admin on the endpoint and then add this

password under the connection tab in the Navigator system of this endpoint.

After that do a force refresh and apply management settings and see if the meetings will appear again.

As TMS pushes this information, it would be the correct symptom do not show this info when

There is a communication / authentication problem.

  • Updated codec C40 to the latest version of the TC software - use CUCM?

I need to upgrade our C40 codecs to patch the vulnerability of Bash.  Currently they all run TC5.1.3.292001.

I noticed a few options in the download options for the included C40.

    (1) Non-crypto and crypto software.  The way I read it, this refers only to the software itself, not any kind of codec options?

    (2) "to be used with CUCM"-I'm not sure how to check it. "  I inherited these devices with no documentation and the original seller is pretty useless.  Is it possible to check?  We use CUCM, but to my knowledge, our phones can't integrate directly with the TP system (we have customers MOVI for this).

    Stuart,

I don't think that Cisco has published a version of TC software that has the fix vulnerabilities of bash.

The non-crypto software has none of the feature SSL on it - IE. signaling/media figures. Usually goes with cryptography is the safer bet unless you're from a country that has to import restrictions.

CUCM - if your termination points are saved to CUCM, then you must use the version of the file CUCM. It will be uploaded to the server CUCM himself by going to install/upgrade the Administration of Cisco's operating system and restart the TFTP service. In this way, the file will be pushed down from the server when the codec is reset.

For the non-CUCM, you use the other file and download the .pkg directly on the codecs. It seems to me that you have a VCS based so the .pkg file deployment, this is what you will use.
