  I had problems with my touch screen not working not.  After searching online it was suggested that the software might require the upgrade so I downloaded it.

  Now, my phone got lock up to 16% of the backup is complete.  I can't at this point that every time I turn the phone on it get to the same point and stop.  The battery hold a charge then over heating and I have to turn off the phone and remove the battery.

  I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

  It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

  If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  I installed BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1 (twice from different sources) on my Windows 10 PC.

  Just for the heck of it, I was running Microsoft Windows Media 10, and I plugged my curve. This time, WM acknowledged the SD card in the phone. I tried dragging my files of music and podcasts in the Sync column and son of a gun, it worked! Transfer speeds are awfully quick too, with this SanDisk 8 GB mini card I got from Amazon for $28.00 (can you imagine? 8 Gig for this price!)

  I have a BlackBerry 8100 with software version v4.2.1.101. With this version, I could not able to listen to music through my bluetooth (wireless). So I dicided to upgrade my software with version 5.0 (later). I downloaded the 5.0 version of the Desktop software and installed in my laptop.

  After installed, software to office by train to install device software v5.0 in my blackberry8100 which is connected via the USB port on my laptop.

  He has been collecting information from device and tries to save my camera... so far very well.

  After backup, next step is, 'connecting to the device ROM', ther, I get "ERROR FATAL" took place and saying try again.

  I tried several times, always I am getting same error msg which connect to my device. Even I tried, after removing my SIM card, memory card.

  I checked the compatibility of the version of the software for my 8100 device, its says YES. But still I am facing this problem...

  Fortunately, my camera works fine with my old software itself, even if the error occurred during the upgradation... :-)

  Please, help me to update my device with the latest version of the software.

  I solved this problem myself only...

  What I did:

  1 uninstalled my DesktopSoftware v5.0, which I've already updated since version 4.1

  2 install bits version DesktopSoftware later, I chose DesktopSoftware v4.5.

  3 downloaded Device Software v5.0 (Web-based)

  4 removed my my camera SD memory card.

  5 run it downloaded Device Software v5.0.

  He back-uped my data, remove the old software and installed the new version of the software.

  Clean and good appearance than before. Very well...

  I'm not sure it's the right way... , but it worked for me...

  For some reason, your phonetic search phone wiped itself.  With no backup in place, data are missing.  You're right, however, the Office Manager is a good idea to make backups.  You can also load a blackberry protect on the device, so you can have a backup online as well.  It works behind the scenes and live which is useful.  Check

  The message is in one of the folders messages or it is a mistake. In the message list, press menu and 'display the folder '. Browse all records to see if there is a message not read anywhere. If this does not work, do a battery Pull:
  1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
  2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
  3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

  Sorry, but I found the solution I need.  I did a different search that has sent me to a document that told me how to merge calendars.  you open the calendar go to the menu > options' when it opens type 'MOVE' (IMPORTANT because it threw me for a while, there is no window for typing, just type). a menu then asks if you want to merge all of the calendars that works then.

  I must say that the book is full of (incomprehensible to me) reasons, why the upgrade mess with your setup in the first place.  I have an ipod touch and upgrades are seamless.

  Hello! I have several apps downloaded that I now would like to upgrade, however my BBBold requires me to connect with my Blackberry ID. So when I try to create an account, I get a pop up with a lot of stupid Attorney talks about words that I agree in the end, at that time, another pop up appears and there is still a huge list of stupid lawyer talk I am also bound to accept, HOWEVER, it is not a 'agree' or 'Do not agree' box at the end of this series of terms , as I scroll the page, it's just a continuous loop.   Hiya. I bought a Blackberry 8830 to online auctions. It came with software version 4.5.0.186 (Platform 3.4.0.59). I am with Telstra (Australia) and the software version of Telstra I downloaded from the Blackberry site, to get the applications specific to Telstra, is the 4.5.0.75 version and the Platform 2.7.0.66, which seems to be the latest version.

  (the file name is 8800EASTASIA_PBR4.5.0REL75PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52TELSTRA.exe).

  My phone will not be upgraded to this and I guess because it is a downgrade. Any ideas anyone?

  Well, since you're on 4.5.0.186, and you want to install is 4.5.0.75, which in fact would be a downgrade. But... when I look at the download of Telstra (via this portal) site, I can't even find their offering a bundle of BONES for a 8830... only a 8800, should not work at all. Maybe it's actually the reason why you can not install it... because it is not compatible with your 8830.

  You will need to reload the operating system:

  1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

  2 download the operating system of the file from step 1 to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

  3. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also, check the following locations for the vendor.xml file and delete all instances of the file:

  On Windows Vista/7, go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research in XML Motion\BlackBerry\Loader (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

  On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application is In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

  4. use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then go to the next step.

  6. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

  I finally got a solution to the original problem.  On the BB, I deleted my Yahoo! e-mail account and he added once again.  I found myself with a lot of duplicate contacts, both Yahoo!, but I managed to delete the group that claimed to have a wireless sync, and the other game seems to be OK.  So problem solved (I think).

  With respect to the slow loading of Web pages, this has always been a problem.  It is less a problem when I'm very close to my Virgin Media hub.  I have used other smartphones non - BB, which are much faster.  And my daughter Iphone is loads faster (but then it's more than double the price).  So I was wondering if all BB is slow, or just my model (Curve 8520).  I can understand if it's just this model, like Virgin had many £ 8520's to 10 per month about 20 months ago.  But if they are all the same, I'll go for something different when ends my 2 year contract.
