    Hello:

The biggest problem you may encounter is that the audio probably does not work once you upgrade to W10.

Other than that, looking at the specifications for your PC it seems that all the other materials should work properly.

If you decide to roll the dice, and after installing W10, there is no audio data, you can try this driver below that worked for others with the same IDT audio chip.

This package provides the Tempo IDT High Definition Audio Driver for assumption of office models that are running a supported operating system.

    File name: sp71717.exe

Here is a forum member that have fundamentally improved PC the same model as yours to W10.  Other than the sound works, he apparently had no other problems.

  • Satellite Pro A300 1NT - Possible to upgrade to Windows 7?

    Hello.

I intend to buy the Satellite Pro A300 1NT, but want to make sure that I can not upgrade to Windows 7 and more specifically the characteristics of touch screen.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question.

    Hello!

I think that no one can say whether the Satellite A300 compatible with Windows 7.
Windows 7 is not on the market yet, and I think it will take a few times to release.

And Satellite A300 doesn't have a touch screen, so I think that you cannot use these features on this laptop.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A500 - Flash cards do not work after the upgrade to Windows 7

    Hello

I have a Satellite A500 PSAM3A 04200E. I recently did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. I used my system restore disks to reinstall Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade wizard.

I find that I can no longer use the Fn key to turn on/off features...

I tried to download the VAP and it works. I also tried-> the beginning-Toshiba-> Utilities > restart Flash Cards. None of them have worked even after a reboot...

Can someone give me some advice on what to do next?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

If you have already reinstalled Toshiba Value added Package, you also (re) install the Flash Cards Support utility. This tool controls the FN keys and is required for their work.

You can download it from the official website of Toshiba:

  • HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam: available alternative or upgrade to Windows XP from stock

Having obtained his computer BIOS password unlocked, she asked me if there was an alternative/upgrade to Windows XP that would go on the unit (HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam Edition). Correctly, she heard that XP is no longer supported.

Somehow, I doubt that 10 Windows is running on the device and do not know if anyone has any success with another OS on this particular unit.

I tried a version of 'live' of LUBUNTU 16.04 a bootable USB key. However; It does not seem to start properly and also to present messages of needing a wireless driver that is missing.

Would appreciate any advice. The unit still works with XP (although there is no protection against viruses and is not easy to manage) and I don't want to make it unusable by playing with it without a reasonable chance of success.

    Geocacher_7103

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about an alternative to XP and wanted to help.

I'm not surprised Ubuntu 16.04 has problems on your PC - I've been running various Linux distributions for more than ten years, on a variety of desktop and laptop computers, and it has problems on my machines, as well.

My best guess is that no new Linux distribution will work on a computer laptop xp - era.  I have such a laptop and the latest version of Ubuntu that worked well was 8.04 - April 2008.  After that, they made changes to the kernel, and then later, changes in xorg, such that no new distributions would work well.  Finished restore XP and then later, the upgrade to Vista, then to Win7 - which worked very well!

Win10 is almost certainly NOT going to work, because it requires CPU features that were not widely available when the XP machines are out.  I tried it on two of my computers laptops xp - era and it would be not installed on one of them - but in all honesty, I also tried Win8 on both, and while that installed, it does not work well.

My suggestion for an alternative is Win7.  Even if Ms changed templates driver in Win7, they kept intact existing compatibility - that is why my computer laptop xp - era worked very well, even if it used xp video drivers, video drivers to no Win7.

Oh and once you get Win7 installed, download and install this to prevent MS to force an upgrade Win10 on you: RCMP | Never10

    Good luck

  • Portege M750 - Tablet does not work after upgrade to Windows 7

Got an upgrade of Windows 7 through Toshiba for my M750 tablet pc. Everything is smooth and seems to work, except the (!) the Tablet functions. The pen is not recognized. Touch a little, but unpredictably.

Please let know us what I can do.

    Thank you

    Hello

All devices are properly recognized in Device Manager? Did you check that?

As far as I know, you need to install or update the driver Dual Touch. This dirver is for screen digitizer and touchscreen model. It enables the feature that the Tablet PC pen or a finger can be used as a pointing device.
You can download this driver on the Toshiba site.

    Check it!

  • Y at - it an option to upgrade to Windows 7 for the portable Vista?

Toshiba currently offer upqrades for Win 7 for purchaseers of * NEW * machines with Vista.

What is Toshiba's policy for users of * existing * machines with Vista? Toshiba will provide a path for upgrade/replacement OEM or I have to buy Windows 7 in the market?

If I buy and install Win 7, the warranty is in the Toshiba?

Toshiba support will continue for a machine upgraded to Windows 7, or will be "transferred" to MS OS support? What happens if there is a problem of material and Ms. say "+ contact your manufacturer +" and Toshiba say "+ contact your operating system vendor +"?

Toshiba offer a number of tools for mainainting machine (drivers, etc.). These will be supported / available under Win 7?

    Hello!

If you the Toshiba (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com) main page and click on Windows 7 Upgrade, you can find the following information:
When you buy a laptop Toshiba Windows Vista-based eligible on June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010, you can order a comparable version of Windows® 7.

So this means that if you buy a Toshiba laptop right now that comes with Vista, you can order a version of Windows 7.

  • 500 - 81ea: create recovery media after upgrade to windows 10

I created a USB recovery when I used my PC (using the 8.1 window)

I had a time to use it to perform a destructive restore but then had to wait for all the upgrades automatically install to get me back to where I was and of course all my other software such as iTunes and music, photos, etc.  Checking to see if I can upgrade to windows 10 I was informed that my windows was not up to date and that I didn't know the logo windows at the bottom right of the screen. I have now been in the screen of windows update and installed quite a few updates and now have the upgrade of windows application.  My question is if I upgrade to windows 10 and then must perform a full recovery can I do new media of recovery or I'll have to go back to windows 8.1 using my existing media and then updateHP software and windows 8.1 and upgrade to windows 10 and the free update will be always available or is there a way I can create new media recovery to allow me to recover Windows 10 OR an altrnative goes back to the creation of a backup drive on an external hard drive and a way to get this image on my HDD internal. OR to simply stick with windows 8.1 and hope, that it is taken in charge as long as XP was.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP

    JIMBO

    Hello

First things first. Don't forget that your USB stick recovery is the HP external recovery media and not just another type of recovery image. Back up your data. Check that your PC is supported by HP for Windows 10 and that your PC meets the requirements of Windows 10. If so, then be sure your Windows 8.1 system is fully patched and up-to-date with Windows and HP implemented to date.  When you make an in place upgrade W10, W10 process will have a roll back feature that will be available in case you are not happy with the W10.  I made a couple of back roller and the process was pretty quick.

  • Satellite A500 - missing programs after the upgrade to Windows 7

    Hello

    I have the Satellite A500 - 134.
When I was upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, I had to remove some programs as Advisor on upgrade mentioned.
Now I'm bored of these programs after installing Windows 7:
    # Toshiba Tempro
    # Toshiba ConfigFree
    # Toshiba Disc Creator

In addition, the 'FN' key no longer (it worked on Vista), so I can't activate a feature when I press FN + (some F # buttons as F2).

So, what can I do about it?

    Hello

Have you used the kit to upgrade from Windows 7 home Toshiba? This kit also contains a utility that should be used to reason the installation process and mentioned in manual.

Anyway, you can get tools on the Toshiba page now:
