Upgrade hp Pavilion a1130n Desktop

I want to update my old HP pavilion a1130n desktop.  I have a copy of Windows XP Sp3 retail and a BFG GEFORCE 7600 GT OC video card.  A new hard drive 500 GB Seagate sata and new multidrive ANSUS DVD that I used in the office. The old card mother ver120 of MS-7093 went bad (increased power), that I want to install a new and better motherboard and processor. What mother/CPU card I can that will be compatible with the above components and work with WIN XP SP3? The case I believe to be a Micro ATX. I also intend to get a power superior power suppy that will support the necessary components. Any suggestions or advice are appreciated.

This will be my last comment. Your existing WINDOWS XP is not valid with any other motherboard.   Go to a flea market!  It is easy to buy an office fully working XP for $150. Then add your extra parts.  Otherwise, your problems will worsen.

You will need to purchase an OEM (download, then burn to DVD) version of WIN XP and then course all Service Packs.   Minimum cost OEM $45.  It does not come with a driver CD. You need to FIND for the motherboard. Is not a task for a novice.

  • Upgrade HP Pavilion a1130n

    Hello guys,.

I have a HP Pavilion a1130n, freshly cleaned (to get rid of annoying advertising programs) computer with XP Service Pack 3. Of course, it is very old, as it was released in 2005, and I was wondering if I would be able to upgrade the motherboard to accommodate more material up to date. Is this possible? I was watching a 790 x, but I don't know if the computer requires a motherboard HP, which I would be ready to buy if it is the only option. All suggestions are welcome, please!

    Thank you

    Hello

One thing to think about if you are considering buying a new motherboard, it's if your copy of XP comes with your PC (IE, you don't have a retail copy of XP) it will almost certainly fail activation when re-installed (a version of XP OEM would see a new motherboard as a change of computer for which she is not allowed).  You can find much less of a hassle (and not much of a cost difference) to buy a PC more up-to-date.  This way you would avoid any conflict with the rest of your PCs hardware that may not be able to predict.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes

  • power supply upgrade a Pavilion p6620f desktop computer

I need to improve my diet of the 250 watt accompanying to a 500 Watt power supply. What power supply should I buy. I see over a thousand on the internet but I have no idea whitch one to get?  Thank you

    Flyboy2514, welcome to the forum.

This is a power supply which should meet your needs.  It is 600W, but will cost less than the 500W after delivery.  Be sure to follow the instructions for the delivery of the letter.  This ensures that you don't lose.  I always suggest measuring the PSU existing and comparing measures to one you buy.

  • HP Pavilion p6520y desktop PC: need help to upgrade my ram

I have a HP Pavilion p6520y Desktop PC model #: WW636AA with a FOXCONN 2 92 motherboard, AMD 785 G Chipset. I'm currently upgrading my ram of the current 6gbs maximally whatever my computer supports. My motherboard says it supports up to 16gbs (since I am running Windows 7 64 - bit), and I'm trying to figure out what I should update.  I scanned my pc on Crucial and they gave me a bunch of suggestions, but I still don't know what I should buy.

Analysis of the computer on the essentials: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/scanview/65CC1E0131D926C3

Is it smart to upgrade to the maximum ram and what type of memory should I update? In addition, my computer can even support 16gbs of ram? I have receieved conflicting information about it and I need to check the info I got is correct. I will include a picture of my computer listing of Speccy.

There are a few suggestions on crucial, such as the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3-1600 UDIMM LP or the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB Kit UDIMM DDR3-1600 (4GBx2) or 8 GB Crucial Kit UDIMM DDR3-1600 (4GBx2) and so on. (I don't know if you can see the recommended memory when you view my scan. I guess you can, but might as well include some of them that I'm interested in.)

Here are the specs of the computer of Speccy:

Thanks for the help in advance!

The funny thing is, I was about to buy this one right before I posted this, but I just wanted to see what others thought and if I'm right that my pc supports this amount of RAM. Thanks for the suggestion and response

  • Upgrade graphics card for HP Pavilion A6720Y desktop computer

I have the HP Pavilion A670Y desktop computer and was thinking of upgrading the graphics card GeForce 9100 integrated to a Radeon HD5850 and adding a new power which would allow this change. Power side is there a reason that my office would not be able to support the Radeon HD5850?

It's your motherboard.  Make sure that the slot next to the PCI-E x 16 card is open as 5850 is a wide double card.  Your PC has only a 300 watt PSU so 5850 is only in need of a much larger power supply.  Look at the 12 + rating required by the 5850 and then choose the new modular power supply.  Buy not only on power alone.

Your PC has a practice of small Tower and the 5850 will consume more power (wattage) compared to your existing integrated video processor which means more heat. Be prepared to deal with this issue.  The 5850 is perhaps too card for your PC.

Don't forget that your PC system BIOS is up to date.

Open your Pc and clean all the dust. Then a measure of your current diet and buy one that is modular with almost the same dimensions.  Then measure around the PCI-E x 16 slot to make sure that the card fits.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

  • Upgrade processor for Hp Pavilion p6607c desktop PC

Hello. I have a desktop Hp Pavilion p6607c with an amd athlon ii x 2 220 processor atm and a corsair 500w PSU. I was wondering if I could switch to an amd phenom ii x 4 processor that stretches with problems or if there are all the other better processors that I could update. Only change that iv made about it is that iv added a Radeon HD 5670. Thanks in advance for any help.

    ERICO,

    This is clearly incorrect, as the original AMD Athlon™ II X 2 220 CPU in the computer of the OP is listed by AMD as an AM3 CPU. This is also confirmed by the fact that HP record page for the HP Pavilion p6607c desktop computer reads;

    AMD Athlon II X 2 220

    Speed: up to 2.8 GHz

    Number of cores: 2

    Socket: AM3

    Bus speed: 4000 MHz HT3

Based on this information and the fact that HP list updates for this computer include the AMD Phenom II Quad-Core and AMD Phenom II Triple-Core CPU, which both seem to be AM3 processors, I'd feel safe recommending the installation of a large number of these 95 watt AMD AM3 "C2" not to not UC and 95 watt AMD AM3 'C3' not to not UC.

    You are welcome!

Yes, you can upgrade the memory.  There are two locations of memory on the motherboard.  This is the page for Specifications of the motherboard of the computer.

  • Reinstall the recovery partition - drive (e) on gn561aar of HP Pavilion a6230n desktop PC

    "HP Pavilion a6230n desktop PC
    Serial number: {removed privacy}
    Product number: gn561aar

    OS - W7 home premium 64-bit

I had problems with the computer a few weeks ago and had to do a disk/partition Acronis backup restore. Drive C: / (and all my other readers) are working as they should but drive E:/where is the partition installed normal recovery does not restore properly. I recently had another problem and tried to do a restore using the partition HP recovery and got the error messages it is not found? I didn't use the Acronis since the results had already been mentioned.

HP web site does not list my computer and I think I need to order a set of recovery from my web research disc, but I'm going in circles on the HP web site trying to find out where to order or send an email to technical support. Looks like HP wants just to sell their hardware and then completely dump you after disregarding needs later? I am very frustrated with HP because it seems that if you have not purchased the equipment in the last 90 days you're in their "rearview mirror" when it comes to help?

I still have to call their phone support since I had 'experience' with their offshore support in the past and would really like to avoid new frustrating experience with the entire HP support system.  Why can't I just ask a question and get a resolution - is it too ask?  Apparently Yes...

Can anyone help me to get what I need to replace the recovery on my desktop computer partition and get it all working properly again? Thank you in advance for any help that will help solve this problem. Robert

Well, since the computer came with Vista, then the recovery partition will be of no other value to reinstall Vista, which I assume is not what is wanted.  If the Windows 7 install disk is always available, then reinstall Windows 7 on this disc and new departure.  Was the original Vista 32 bit and the new Windows 7 64-bit, so is not "upgrade was/is possible, but a new install anyway."  As the other 64-bit programs have been added after the upgrade to Windows 7, installers will need to be rerun to get install them after you have reinstalled Windows 64-bit.  Otherwise, the Acronis image can be used.  Unless HP has published this same model computer with Windows 7 64-bit, there is no HP support and hense no recovery partition. Sorry

  • HP Pavilion p6530uk Desktop PC: graphics card

Hi can I upgrade my g210 graphics card EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW I have ms-7613 lona gl8e motherboard and I have also recently upgraded my power of 600w.   the full name of my pc is HP Pavilion p6530uk Desktop PC thanks

I just checked the specs for Farcry 4 and your machine should run perfectly. I just wanted to point out that this graphics card is very nice and that it will not restrict your computer somehow. Your motherboard and processor are still going strong, even if they are not as new and shiney as your new graphics card. Good luck in your game!

  • Graphics card for HP Pavilion p6110y desktop PC

I recently installed Photoshop on my HP Pavilion p6110y desktop PC and I get the following 2 error messages:

Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled the improvements using graphics hardware.  See the Web site of the manufacturer for the latest version of the software.

    and...

The 3D features require a minimum of 512 MB of vRAM. Photoshop has detected less than on your system.  Update your graphics card driver may solve the problem.

To check, I discovered that the computer has the Intel (R) with total GMA3100 available memory 256 MB, so I presume that is the problem.  My question is what graphics card is compatible with this system, and I should also adapt the food if I understand that may be required when changing the graphics cards?

    Dave

    Dave, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you are right that the video memory is not enough.  I suggest to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU) at least 500W.  This will allow a better video card and future updates.  I like Corsair and OCZ PSU.

Now for the video card.  I like XFX cards.  Here is a card that should work:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814150642

If you decide on his card you would probably at least 600W.

  • A new graphics card for HP Pavilion a6057c desktop PC

    Hello
I was wondering if I can get recommendations for a game for my HP Pavilion a6057c desktop PC graphics card.

    Hello

A video card decent for the games will require a bigger power supply in your PC.  Go with a level of high level video wouldn't do justice to your PC based on its current level of performance of the components.

TheCorsair CX 500is on sale for $45 after rebate.

This GTX 460 768 MBis on sale for $95 after rebate.  This GTX 550 TI 1 GB$129 after rebate.  The adjacent slot on the slot PCI-E x 16 in your PC must be vacant.  Review thePresentation of the motherboardof your PC.  Are both video cards NVIDIA 8.25 "long so do some measurement inside your PC to be sure that the video card will fit.

I recently downloaded a game on Steam (Kings mercenary) because according to this site (link below), he said that I was able to run it.

However, when I went to play the game, it is said - and I quote - "your video card's OpenGL is does not support the extension GL_ARB_framebuffer_object.» Please update your driver or contact your provider for loans OpenGL 3.0 drivers. »

If my PC is have OpenGL 3.0 drivers available for download, or will I just lose $15 on a game that I will not be able to play?

My PC model is the HP Pavilion p6110y desktop PC

    Hello

Based on the following link, your machine has ONLY "Intel GMA 3100":

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c01742156 & lang = to & CC = US & TaskID = 101 & ContentType = SupportFAQ & prodSeriesId = 3942799

And according to the following document, the card only supports 2.0:

    http://download.Intel.com/products/graphics/intel_graphics_guide.PDF

Your machine has a slot for a video card, you can add a new card with a correctly PSU, so you won't lose $ 15.

That being said, here are my suggestions.
