Upgrade HP Pavilion g6

Okay, so I've had this laptop for a while now and he is doing well, but I wonder what ways to bypass the upgrade now.  I already understood that type of RAM it uses (I made the stupid mistake of believing that all RAM was the same), but now I'm wondering if there are any other material that can be improved.  I'm looking specifically on the processor, but seeing that probably built into the graphics chip, I could be anything but still possible.  Ultimately, I'd love to upgrade to modern specifications.  Laptops are not the same as desktop computers, I know, but it would be nice to keep this one.  I am uncomfortable with its size and weight and it has a full keyboard and all which is perfect for what I want.

That's what I'm trying to tell you. Upgrade the processor, it is very difficult and expensive. The SSD upgrade is much easier, although not much cheaper. Yet, it is still more effective than to play with the processor. When you get the SSD you want to clone with the old drive again and you will need software cloning coming may SSD and an adapter usb to sata so you can have the new drive connected outside of the machine for cloning. RAM, processor and hard drive are updated only that it is possible to do.

Here is the service manual for your model:

Manual

The CPU (processor) is expandable to a 10 - 4600M. Yours is an A4 - 4300M.

    Hi, Andrey:

Accroding to the specifications of your laptop, it comes with a processor AMD Turion X 2 Ultra ZM - 85 Dual - Core Mobile, correct?

If this is the case, you can not put an Intel processor in a laptop computer with an AMD processor.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Support for AMD processors are listed in Chapter 1, page 1.

It would not be the time or the money to upgrade to one of the most numbered 2 processors as yours.

  • Upgrading memory Pavilion ZD8055US

What memory stick should be used to upgrade a Pavilion ZD8055US? They are 144 pins, 200 pins or 244-pin modules? The laptop is running XP.

    Hello:

The best thing to do is to run the free analysis tool of Crucial memory which will scan your PC and report what type and how much memory you can install on your laptop.

    http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

Then you can order from them or buy memory elsewhere with the same characteristics.

I recommend the Samsung 840 Evo SSD. The price is usually very good and performance is also very good.

    Hello

    It's a HP Pavilion x 2-10-n138tu:

    http://support.HP.com/SG-en/document/c04855773

It has CPU, RAM, HARD drive... on board means soldered to the motherboard. Only one option: purchase new machine because buying another motherboard can cost more (cost of Council and labour).

It has 1 microSD card reader, you can use this to increade more storage. Very safe to use the card of 64 GB.

    Kind regards.

  • 17 '' HP Pavilion: upgrade HP Pavilion - Socket FCBGA1170 - 4 core CPU N3700 @ 1.60 GHz

I have a 17 "HP Pavilion notebook with an Intel Pentium CPU N3700 @ 1.60 GHz on a Socket BGA1170, with 4 cores and Max TDP of 6W with 8 GB of RAM with Windows 10.

I find this combination very slow and walked if I could switch the CPU to a faster? I look forward to your recommendations

Another consideration is the upgrade of the standard SATA 1 TB HD HTS541010A9E680 to a 1 TB SSD. Or would it be too expensive.

Thanking you in advance for your answers.

We do not have your exact model, but on most of the Trail Bay models I've seen (series N processors Pentium and Celeron) the processor is soldered to the motherboard and there is no distinct ability to change the processor. FCBGA1170 means that it is a Ball Grid Array which means welded on. 1 TB SSD are about $300-380.

  • Max Memory Upgrade for Pavilion a810y

How can I find the AMT of max memory I can put in my Pavilion a810y?  It of sites that say 4 GB and other telling that to 2 GB.  Is the real answer please stand up.

    Hello:

Your PC would have the Intel 915 chipset.

If the motherboard has no memory, each with 1 GB of memory, 2 slots then you're at the max.

Locations of Intel 915 chipset memory cannot manage more than 1 GB of memory.

The crucial memory upgrade link I posted said your PC had 4 locations of memory, so that the info is wrong.

If you upgrade to W7, I recommend you only go with the 32-bit version on your PC.

A 64-bit system requires more disk space and memory to run as a 32-bit system doesn't work - not double, but, with only 2 GB of memory, a 32 bit OS will perform a little better that will be a 64 bit OS, but who is to you.

  • Pavilion 15-P035NF: upgrading RAM Pavilion 15-P035NF - Help!

    Hi evreyone.

    I have a Pavilion 15-P035NF (J1Y40EA #ABF) with 1 RAM memory 4 GB DDR3L 1600.

I would like to upgrade. But before disassembling the laptop (not simple operation) I would like to know if I have one or two slots available, as such, I can go (16 GB?) and what type of RAM is compatible.

I don't see it in the system of the free laptop because it broke down (my laptop age: 1.5 years...) and I need to replace the hard drive (by a SSD).

If I look in the specific information related to this laptop, HP customer support are not available...

After updating my Pavilion dv6 Windows 7 64 - bit of Windows 10 64 - bits, the connection to the computer to update resulted in a machine stuck with white (gray) screen. The upgrade seems complete without any problems. It is only after a reboot with the machine being upgraded and after entering the password that the lock status was encountered.

    Hello

Consult thispublication of documentfor general information on the selection of a video card.

I would not recommend an upgrade of the processor until you install a new video card.  Upgrading the CPU may be an unnecessary expense.

The P6000 PC has only a power supply 250 watt so that will have to be replaced.  I would look at the Corsair CX600 because it has the power and the appropriate physical dimensions.

Ultra settings can be a little complicated depending on the game.  I use the NVIDIA GTX 460 with some modern games (COD, BF3 and HAWX 2) with parameters utra without problems.  Right now, I recommend the Sapphire HD 6870.  The 6870 is better than the 460, so you shouldn't have any problems.

  • E0448c PC portable Pavilion 17: [need help] upgrading of Pavilion 17 Notebook PC e048ca

    Hello

    I'm working on a portable 17 Pavilion with an AMD Quad-Core A10 - 5750M + Radeon 8650 G Graphics.

I hope to get better results in the edition and so I would like to upgrade, but I don't know what room do I and can I replace it.

I think adding double graphs, but I don't know if it's possible on this machine. Please help me in any way possible in telling me what I should and can do.

    Thank you.

The video is soldered on the motherboard and there is no crack to add other types of video hardware.

There are motherboards for the Pavilion 17 who have switchable graphics double aliases, but these models use a motherboard completely different than yours. You need to replace the motherboard and the system of cooling of the laptop and you look at maybe $ 400 for parts and labor. And the best video used in double graphics is only marginally better than what you already have.

You do not have a hard drive 5400 RPM to very large, but slow to 1 TB and video editing can benefit a little faster hard disk access. I recommend either a SSD drive or even a faster drive (7200 RPM) mechanical or hybrid car to get a faster disk access.

Laptops used for true high-end video editing are mobile workstation usually models that have a lot more than what you can get in quality video equipment consumer laptops and they start at around $2500. HP Z-book would be an example.

    Post back with more questions.

  • Upgrade RAM Pavilion p6-2030

    Hello Forums,

I think to upgrade my Ram on my current computer Pavilion P6-2030.

I think with the purchase of the fury of Kingston HyperX 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3 CL9 Dimm. (HX313C9FB/4). This will be compatible with the RAM that is already installed and it will work.

    Thank you

    You are welcome.

Yes, that is recommended by Crucial memory should work in your motherboard.  Buy a pair will give you much better performance that I said.  If it was me, I contact their Technical Support and ask them to recommend you the best memory of what you want to do.  These guys are the experts on their memory.  I contact Technical Support for most of the components that I buy.  The components change so quickly OEMs like HP can't stay with her.  As a result, many of the newer components sold won't work even in a two year old computer.

    Hello

You need to match the needs of power supply as indicated by the manufacturer of the graphics card with the graphics card.  Some 750 NVIDIA models should work on your PC without modification of the power supply.

The NVIDIA 660 and 760 would require a bigger power supply.
