UPGRADE MEMORY ON THE QOSMIO F10

IN CASE OF...

HI, COULD someone EXPLAIN WHY SAME TIME MY LAPTOP (QOSMIO F10 1.7 Mghz, 512 MB RAM), POP-UP WINDOWS LIKE THIS "WINDOWS. INSUFFICIENT VIRTUAL MEMORY. "
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE BEST THING TO DO?
I WAS THINK to be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM, BUT I'M NOT SURE IF it will SOLVE THE PROBLEM...
MUCH THANK THE OF FOR THAT ANSWER.

Hello

Well, I think that you can solve this problem without upgrading the memory.
Please follow these steps:

1. find out how virtual memory is managed. Right click on 'My Computer' and choose 'properties '. Click the Advanced tab, and then under Performance click settings.
2. which opens your performance Options. Click the Advanced tab. For private users 'typical' Processor Scheduling & Memory use must be set to "programs".
3. under virtual memory, click change.
4. which opens the virtual memory options. If you have more than one hard drive, make sure that your primary hard drive is selected under "Drive".
5. under "Paging File Size for selected device" check the box indicating the size of the managed system.
6. click OK in all the 3 boxes to close off these settings and restart your computer

Hope that this will help solve this problem

Good bye

  • Upgrade memory on the Qosmio G20

    Hello
I'm looking to upgrade my Qosmio G20 from 1 GB to 2 GB RAM

Now I believe that this laptop comes with 2 x 512MB sticks in order to upgrade, I would need to buy 2 x 1 GB?

I found this memory which I think would be good, but would like confirmation.

    http://www.cheapmemory.com.au/cheap-memory-Finder.php?EquipType=notebook&manuf=Toshiba&ManufS door series = Qosmio % 20Black & model = G20 - 110

    (Yes, I live in Australia)

AFAIK the memory of 2 GB are quite new on the market and I don't believe someone can give you any information appropriate for this topic, but if these modules are memory specified for G20 I n t see no reason don't think about them.

If there is a problem you can send them back at any time. By the way: I checked the official update from Toshiba page and it seems that, for the moment, no module 2 GB are available.

  • Upgrade memory to the Qosmio F20 problem

I just bought a Laptop Qosmio F20; It has 512 MB RAM DDR2 pc4200 533 MHz in standard. When I added an another 512 MB of ram the laptop turns on but the screen is blank, when I installed them separately, they work very well sound when I pair their place is happening, they are of the same manufacturer (Samsung) and the same type & speed.

Please could someone help me with this, because I am intrigued. This laptop does support 1 GB memory 2 x.

    Hello

The laptop supports without a doubt memory 2 x 512 MB sticks.
You can upgrade the memory for max 2 GB (2 x 1024 MB)

As far as I know Toshiba recommend using these modules:
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

About you, problems with memory, it seems that both modules are not compatible I know that sounds very strange because you use the same modules (as you say).

I recommend to replace the new module and you should check if the laptop runs correctly with other new module

  • Re: Blue screen after using the Qosmio F10 recovery CD

    Hello

I tried to use the recovery CD (XP) for my fathers Qosmio F10. I chose option 1 to return to the factory default. It seems to work fine but after it's over he says remove the CD and reboot I did. It was then restarted but flashed a blue screen for a split second before restarting. I did not see what is the Blue error screen, as it flashes up too fast. Then, it takes me to the configuration screen and asks me to choose whether to start Windows normally or SafeMode etc. All options give me the same result.

He said if I choose to boot to the last known good configuration:

"windows was not start because the following file is missing or damaged:
    \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\config\SYSTEM

You can try to repair this file by starting windows setup using the CD-ROM Moose
Select 'r' in the first screen to start repair. "

Of course, I do not have an original Windows CD, I just the recovery CD.

I checked to spit on the disc but its perfect.

I have a complete backup of all of the HDD on an external USB disk if that would help?

Don't know what to do next?

    So just in the summary;
You have checked the RAM, HARD drive and tried to install the Windows operating system several times but without success

Well, maybe you should try to boot from a Linux live disc to check if the BSOD appears again?  :|
How about Windows XP installation by using the diskette in MS Windows.
    It s worth a try

Last but not lease, you will need to replace the memory modules RAM and HARD drive
I mean the different HARD disk and RAM tests are useful, but it will not replace tests using new parts
I think that this should be done by a qualified technician because he could test it before buying spare parts

  • Upgrading memory on the NB550D - 11 d - 4 GB of RAM are possible

To anyone who thinks of a memory upgrade on the NB550D:

The NB550D supports up to 4 GB of memory, not only 2 GB as mentioned by Toshiba in their specifications.
Upgrade memory to 2 GB is _only limited_ by the pre installed Windows 7 Starter OS, and not by the netbook itself.

I use Linux Mint 11 Katya, 64-bit and my system works perfectly well with a 4 GB ram module. If you want to use the full support for 4 GB ram, get rid of the Win 7 Starter operating system.

Specifications for more memory ram volume are DDR3 1333 MHz PC3-10600 SO-Dimm. I chose a 4 GB of Corsair module, because of the guarantee of 30 years of offers from Corsair.

It took me a while to find this out hope, that this will be a help to all those who are just as secure as I was how to upgrade memory NB550D. Good luck. (o).

    Thanks for the comments

Also it of important to mention than the 32-bit systems (not serious if its Linux or Windows) would recognize only 3.2 GB since it is a limitation of 32-bit
So to use all of the 4 GB RAM 64-bit system is required.

  • Upgrade memory on the Satellite NB10t-A-102

    Hello

on NB10t-A-102, I want to change the memory and the increase of 8 GB or 16 GB
    Can make us this change?

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop RAM can be upgraded up to 4 GB, and obviously with 4 GB of RAM inside it is already on the maximum.

Unfortunately on this forum we do not have much info on this new machine, but in the past we discussed on older models with 1 GB of RAM maximum but in the end, it was possible to update.

If no one can help with this I recommend you try the upgrade with 8 GB of RAM to check how it works. Number of RAM you should test is PA5104U-1M8G.

    If possible, send feedback.

  • Question about upgrading memory on the Satellite L20-181

    Hello

The recommended minimum is memory for Windwows XP 256 MB and I don't understand how the company could get far notebook sale with integrated graphics with 256 MB shared system memory.

In any case, I want to improve my Toshiba and my intention is to buy 512 MB more memory, such as http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=20049&ft=m&st=3

Will it work properly with 768 MB or I will only buy the same pair: 256 + 256, 512 + 512?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

First of all, you are not right. Windows XP also works with the low value of the memory.
But of course it depends on memory so the OS applications will run more rapid or slower.

However, the fact is that you can upgrade the memory on your laptop and it doesn't mater if the modules have the same value of memory or not.
In this case, the laptop came with 256 MB and you can install detox the second module of 512 MB memory.

PS: I recommend installing the 512 MB in the first slot and the 256 MB in the second Bank.

  • Noisy fan - fan starts 15 minutes after turning on the Qosmio F10

My Qosmio F10 has always had a very noisy fan. The fan noise starts always 15 minutes after turning the PC on and stays of less regardless of what I do on the PC - even if this happens be nothing else!

I tried to change the battary cooling method optimized in the toshiba saving settings in an attempt to stop the fan coming on but any change of setting seems to have no effect on the fan. I did a search on these forums and found a link to the utility fan - but the link now appears to be dead and someone somewhere else also suggested update but tv pilots who did not work or the other. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this laptop less noisy?

It's all a bit frustrating saw I bought it to listen to music - and all you hear is the fan when the music calms down!

    Thanks in advance

Believe me that it is not unusual that the F10 is a laptop with a high GPU and CPU. These regions produce a lot of heat and it must be cooled!

Please don t compare mobile portable fans with the Qosmio. The Qosmio laptop properties resemble a PC and in my view a desktop PC is much stronger than the F10

  • Upgrading RAM on the Qosmio X 505

I don't know what's going on but I have a Toshiba Qosmio x 505 I'm a little confused on the amount of RAM my PC and it's his lwo I would buy more, I bought mine from Newegg almost a year with the backlit keyboard, to my knowledge, I thought that my computer has 6 GB of ram and it runs games big but the other day while running dxdiag I was shocked to see that I have 4 GB of ram... (4096MB to be exact, it is more than 4 GB, but if it's 6GB so where is the other 1.9 GB of RAM at?)

Recently, I did a reinstall of windows and wipe the entire computer, it would affect my bios for ram at all? I swear I had 6 GB of ram, but maybe I was wrong, in any case if it is after that that someone provide me a link to buy the 8 GB of ram for the qosmio? Thank you! I'd love to update the full agreement.

    Hi mate

The value of the RAM can be checked in the BIOS!
Please check in the BIOS what RAM is recognized.

In addition, the graphics card shares a part of main RAM in order to get better performance all in game.
The main value of RAM is the part that would be shared by the graphics chip is high.

So if the laptop was equipped with 6 GB of RAM (hmm, in that case it should be a 4GB and 2 GB RAM module installed) then some of this RAM could be used by GPU.

By the way; 4 GB of RAM or 6 GB of RAM are more than enough to get good performance... so in my opinion RAM upgrade is not necessary

    Hello

There are several ways to know which module memory is compatible and supported.
You can use a diagnosis too like Everest, you check the user's manual or from Toshiba Web site for details or you will contact the service in your country for support modules.

I'll try to answer the question: the Satellite A50 should support PC2700 DDR - RAM as the following:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

Now it s your choice. You can also google for offers
By the way: visit the Toshiba site Options & accessories. You will find compatible parts

  • Upgrading memory on the Satellite L500D - 13 c

    Hello!

I own a laptop Satellite L500D - 13 c and I am considering upgrading memory 2 x 2 GB 2 x 4 GB RAM. According to a specific model list on the accessories compatible with the 4 GB of PC2 DDR2 (800 MHz) memory, item # PA3670U-1M4G, is recommended by Toshiba.

What I want to know is if this module specific memory (with article # PA3670U-1M4G) is the only compatible module for my laptop or if I could get and buy bars of memory corresponding (and hopefully cheaper) with the same specifications (800 mhz, etc.) without damaging my PC?

TI would appreciate some advice on this.

    See you soon!

    Hello

You can also buy another module of memory with the same specifications. Fact is that some modules at low cost and without name can be initially responsible for compatibility issues. It may happen starting cell phone s display will be remains black.

Therefore I recommend you to use high quality modules and Kingston is one of the best manufacturers of memory modules.

I understand that you want to save your money but you buy it now and it should work properly.

  • Dear gurus: help with options for upgrading memory on the DV7-1235dx

I recently bought a used DV7-1235dx and that you want to update the 8 GB RAM, but I'm having a hard time figuring exactly what memory modules are the best for this problem (in a sense general - I don't want to say the brand, well that thoughts on that are welcome, too). I have Windows 7 64 bit. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hello:

I suggest that you run the tool free to advise on the Crucial.com memory and it will tell you what memory you need to buy for your PC:

    http://www.crucial.com/?CPE=pd_msn_us & ef_id=k7hN@oYZUgUAAMO8:20110616224741:s

From what I could find on my own, I think you would need to PC2-6400 for your machine, but leave the scanner tool do its thing to confirm.

I've always bought Crucial memory, but for a 4 GB chip, it's quite expensive.

So, I found that the Patriot memory is a lot cheaper and it works great! I put the chip 2 x 4 GB Patriot in my HP Elitebook 6930p and chips Patriot 2 x 4 GB in HP Elitebook son 6910p.

I just bought a brand new HP Elite 8200 CMT. It came with 4 GB memory ddr3. I bought a chip of Patriot 4 GB and it works fine. Because the chip worked, I just ordered two other max out this new box.

Here is the link to the place, I had my Patriot laptop memory if the crucial scanner confirms that this is what you need. You can also read all the comments of consumers who bought the memory.
