I am working on Solaris server.

Please suggest a method to upgrade the database and change the Oracle_home.

what things can we do?

-Thank you

Hello

What NEVER GO * if you don't have that you're gone (I'm sorry)

(1) the inventory fails, you cannot run opatch lsinventory-details
(2) you are unable to apply a patch to your database

If you want to do that please follow the below action plan

(1) install the 9.2.0.1 on /apps/oracle/product/9.2.0.8 (newly created directory) only to install the software
(2) update the 9.2.0.1 installed on /apps/oracle/product/9.2.0.8 to 9.2.0.8 (software ONLY)
(3) copy the files network, init.ora files new oracle of etc. House
(4) database now to stop the 9.2.0.7
(5) start the 9.2.0.7 database is upgraded 9.2.0.8 mode software located in /apps/oracle/product/9.2.0.8
(6) run the upgrade script
(7) run the script utlrp.sql

DONOT change manually from home *.

  • Upgrade to vSphere and change equipment

    2 ESC PE2050 3.5U3 cluster with CX300 FC SAN

I need to upgrade to vSphere - VC Inc., as well as change the PE250s to new hardware (also PE2950, but with the rear plate PCI-Express and more memory) and replace the Equalogic PS5000X iSCSI SAN

(I find the CX300 with 10K disks being totally useless in terms of speed and virtually unusable in the current configuration)

What would be the best way to do it?

    -upgrade of VC,

-Add 2 new servers connected to the SAN iSCSI with a clean install of vSphere,

    -configure new servers,

-do the old servers through to see Software initiator iSCSI SAN.

-move the VM to SAN iSCSI with vMotion

-give up the old servers & FC SAN

    Is it achievable?

Your research plan sound with the exception that you will use "Storage VMotion" to move the virtual machines, not of VMotion. By opting for vCenter/ESX 4 you'll do yourself a lot of favors too:

1 iSCSI Performance is improved in ESX4 (even if you do not mention if you use hardware or software initiators)

2 storage VMotion is integrated in vCenter 4 which will move the easy virtual machines

3 storage VMotion is also much faster on ESX4, but I don't know that you'll see the speed increase from your source VMs are on ESX 3.

You must also update all the tools and the virtual material on your virtual machines, this can be done with the new update manager.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the EqualLogic iSCSI stuff is often times much faster than the fiber (according to the table). I wouldn't trust anyones blanket assertion that fiber is always faster than iscsi.

  • Hello, I get upgraded my computer and change the card mother and new CPU.__Is it no problem to install my OS. and re-activation. ???

    Activation

If you have a retail version of XP, there will be no problem. A repair installation may or may not work. Of course you will be smart and save your data on an external first.

If you have a version of XP OEM, it is related to the original computer on which it is installed. Since replacing the motherboard and processor you effectively create a new computer, you must purchase a new copy of XP in this case.

  • Migration and upgrade of databases

    Hello

We intend to migrate from the data center to the new location. The new data center already have the hardware. We must move the dump data and upgrade the database. Our database most are on Oracle

10g solar UNIX and the new material is on Oracle 11.2.0.4 with Linux (Oracle or Redhat Linux). Do the following activity:

    (1) taking the export on the basis of existing data.

    (2) move the dump of the export to the new location, as well as archived data that is stored in the Ribbon. (this is where a suggestion required more about different ways to do it).

    (3) import and the upgrade of the database in the new location.

Might suggest a certain to please the strategy and useful tool which, for this activity.

You should move all the 100 + databases in a window of 48 hours with datapump? It is a command

What is the capacity of the network (i.e. How fat is the pipe) between the two locations and how pieces are? As a general rule, there should be no loss of data or corruption during the transfer of files over a network. The time required for move/upgrade a database of 300G can only be determined by performing a test upgrade that looks close in the middle of production.

    We have identified two questions:

    (1) muse implements a markup bad comment, causing in the edition (IBE) browser to display the page properly. Only, this affects IBE and does not affect the published site. The combination of page that causes the bad markup is still TBD.

    (2) IBE does not account for the bad markup that leads to incorrect DOM, leaving IBE unusable.

We have a fix for IBE (as BC) who is ready to be tested. We will update this thread when the fix is on.

1 WLS Console - Services - Pool of connections to Data Sources - SDR-

  • Problem with WSUS after upgrade of SQL and SCCM

A few years ago, we implemented SCCM 2012 R2 on a virtual machine running Server 2008 R2 (Enterprise), using 2012 SQL for databases.  We use it for software deployment, updates/patches via WSUS and imagery of the network.  Everything is smooth enough for most, even if we hit a few snags Windows 10 points when that came out.  After you install the patches and updates to our Server 2008 box to make it compatible with Windows 10 content, everything was good again.  A few weeks ago, I decided to update our version of SCCM 1511 and SQL for 2014.  After the two updates, I tested imaging and software deployment, and everything seemed good.  I forgot WSUS, however... and later visited account it was not working properly for these updates.  Unfortunately, I realized after I deleted the VM snapshot, I got to thinking that everything was good (stupid, I know).  After researching and discovering some of the errors were permissions associated with - why would have changed the permissions on folders of SQL and SCCM upgrade I have no idea - those who have since been smoothed.  Now, my mistakes seem to be related SQL more and I hit a dead end with research.  When I opened WSUS and go look at the clocks, he tries to load the history of synchronization, and after a few minutes-error with the following information:

The WSUS administration console failed to connect to the WSUS server database.

Verify that SQL server is running on the WSUS server. If the problem persists, try restarting SQL.

I found a few forums that suggest to uninstall WSUS and delete the database, and then reinstall WSUS.  Unfortunately, when I try install fails... giving only an error code and no other explanation of why.  The error is 0 x 80070643, which is supposed to be due to the current user not having the "sysadmin" in SQL.  However, I have tried with several accounts I checked to make you have the sysadmin role in SQL (and are also part of the Administrators group on the server itself)-always get the same error message.

I would really like to try to find that rather than wasting his time with the construction of a new server and redo our whole SCCM environment... get the client reinstalled on all our machines to synchronize with a new server appears as a huge headache.  Is there anyone else out there who know what would cause this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Document for the upgrade of database ebs spot

    Hello

Can someone point out to me a document that gives the steps to out place upgrade database ebs 12.1.3 11.1.0 to 11.2.0.3? I tried it myself and it went well but I still don't know if something is still missing because there are still 346 invalid objects in the comic book. Here are the steps I followed:

    On the source:

    Start adpreclone

2 run utlu112i.sql (copy it from the 11.2.0). House)

    Follow the recommendations of utlu112i.sql.

Back up the db of the source and the apps folder

Copy the backup on the target server.

    6 copy the pfile.

    7.

    On target:

    install the 11.2.0.3 software

    apply the required patches

    Restore and recover the database.

    catupgrd.sql run

    Start catuppst.sql;

    Start utlrp.sql;

                 run d bupgdiag. SQL

    run adconfig.sh contextfile = < contextfile > level db.

Stop listener and database and restart to load the new approx.

restored apps folder (backup of the source)

                 run adcfgclone.pl appsTier

    run autoconfig.

DATABASE UPGRADE 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.3 DATABASE WITH R12.1.3

See also the forum as it's been discussed on several occasions.

Have BTW, regarding your invalid objects you tried recompiling of the objects by using:

  • Upgrade of database using Data Pump

    Hello

I'm moving my database to a Windows 2003 server to Windows 2007 server. At the same time I get to level this database from 10g to 11 g 2 (11.2.0.3).
so, I use the export / import method of upgrade (via Data Pump not the old exp/imp).

I have exported successfully by the source database and created the empty shell ready to take import database. However, I have a couple of queries

Q1. with regard to all objects in the source database SYSTEM. How they will import as target the new database already has a SYSTEM tablespace
I guess I need to use the TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION option for import. However should I set this Append, SKIP, REPLACE or TRUNCATE - which is best?

Q2. I intend to slightly modify the directory structure on the new database server - it would be preferable to pre-create the tablespaces or leave that to import but use the REMAPPER DATAFILE option - what is all the world experience to know what is the best way to go? Once again if I pre-create the tablespaces, how should I inform the import to ignore the creation of the tablespaces

Q3. These 2 databases are on the same network, so in theorey instead of a manual export, copy of the dump for the new server file, then import, I could use a link to network for import. I was wondering where it all stupid this method using the explicit export dump file?

    Thank you
    Jim

    Jim,

Q1. with regard to all objects in the source database SYSTEM. How they will import as target the new database already has a SYSTEM tablespace
I guess I need to use the TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION option for import. However should I set this Append, SKIP, REPLACE or TRUNCATE - which is best?

What if all you have is the basic database and nothing created, then you can do the full = y. In fact, it is probably what you want. The system tablespace will be there then when Data Pump attempts to create, it will fail just as the create statement. Anything else will fail. In most cases, your system tables will already be there, and that's ok too. If you import schema view, you will miss out on some of the other things.

Q2. I intend to slightly modify the directory structure on the new database server - it would be better to pre-create the tablespaces or leave cela import but use the REMAPPING > DATAFILE option - what is everyones experience to know what is the best way to go? Once again if I pre-create the tablespaces, how should I inform the import to ignore the creation of the tablespaces

If the directory structure is different (which they usually are), then there is no easier way. You can run impdp but with sqlfile and you can tell - include = tablespace. This will give you all orders of tablespace to create in a txt file and you can edit the text file to change what you want to change. You can tell datapump to ignore the creation of tablespace using--exclude = tablespace

Q3. These 2 databases are on the same network, so in theorey instead of a manual export, copy of the dump for the new server file, then import, I could use a link to network for import. I > I was just wondering where it all with this method using the explicit export dump file?

The only con might be if you have a slow network. This will make it slower, but if you need to copy the dumpfile on the same network, then you will always see the same basic traffic. The benefits are that we should not have additional disk space. Here's how I look at it.

    1. you have XX GB for the source database
    2. you are looking for the source dumpfile YY GB
    3. you must YY GB for the dumpfile target that you copy
    4. you have XX GB for the target database.

By network get rid if YY * 2 GB for the dumpfiles.
