Upgrade of the Slimline s3040.uk processors

Hi, I want to spend the Athlon 64 X 2 3800 + processor current to a Phenom X 4 955 black edition and wonder if the existing radiator and fan should replace. Any help in this very appreciated

Hello

The image shows a standard configuration of the Micro-ATX motherboard.  The image is of the motherboard of your PC. The fan & heater supplied with the processor is a no-go. Purchase a fan upgrade / radiator to replace it with. The new processor is designed to emit up to 125 Watts and the Athlon 64 X 2 3800 was a unit of 89 watts.

I wouldn't try using the original fan.heatsink on the new quad processor cpu.

Best regards
ERICO

    Hi Filipe

Generally, the upgrade of the CPU is not very easy on laptops and undesirable. In my knowledge Toshiba doesn't supports CPU upgrade and you will lose the warranty if you open Notepad.

As far as I know the microprocessor used in the Satellite P100 series (Intel Platform) will be different by the model.
    It supports the following processors:

    Intel Core Duo T2300(1.66GHz); T2400(1.83GHz); T2500 (2 GHz); T2600(2.16Gz); T2700(2.33Gz) FSB: 667 MHz

Intel Core Solo T1400(1.83GHz); T1300(1.66GHz); FSB: 667 MHz

    Intel Celeron-M (Yonah core based) 410; 420; 430; FSB: 533 MHz

Hope I could bring this matter to light.

  • The upgrade of the graphics cards and processors on the Hp Pavilion dv6-6c35dx

I was wondering if I can improve the graphics and CPU on my Hp pavilion dv6-6c35dx, or should I buy a new computer in the future?

    Hello:

You are unable to pass the video to your laptop without having to replace the whole motherboard with one that may have better graphics that could be included in the service manual for your laptop.

C responsible for costs making a such update is not worth. A new motherboard for your PC would cost almost as much as a new PC.

You can also see Chapter 1 of the list of supported processors.

I think with AMD processors, you must also replace the motherboard to upgrade the processor.

I have a HP desktop with the motherboard ASUS P5LP - THE. I would like to ask a series of Core 2 Duo E7500 processor in this computer, however the features HP say max supported is a 6xxx series. The E7500 will work with this motherboard? E6xxx processors are becoming hard to find. Thank you!

Just to be sure, you can have a quick came on the back of the machine.  Emery has a great to come on back pink parallel port, whileAli Seid has a blue VGA port instead

  • Should provide advice on the upgrade of the processor.

I have a lenovo N500 series. The sticker, it states that it is an intel celeron dual-core, but in reality this is not a dual core. Im just curious to know if I could have upgraded to a dual core. Is it safe? It can really be upgraded to a dual core?

Download cpu - z, to see which chipset intel you have, whether it is 945 (socket M) or 965 chipset (socket P).

But in both cases you can improve to the Core 2 duo processors. The Core 2 duo is a bit limited for the socket M, with the T5xxx format, T7xxx, T2xxx are just what you're going to get.

Your Mac is fully compatible with OS X El Capitan, so it's possible and even recommended that you update.

However, if you are comfortable with what you have now and if you do want to use the new features introduced in El Cap, well, you can skip this version.

  • For the Archives: The upgrade of the Satellite L30-134

I'm one of those old cell phones off a friend who had retired as being obsolete.

However with a little time and money, it is possible to upgrade to a very usable machine.

Not a power by any stretch but perfectly adequate for browsing the internet and watching videos (about 720 p watchable) standard definition etc.

So as the search of these forums for more information for this project, I found a lot of conflicting advice, and some of my questions were not answered at all. I hope by documenting my experiences here I can help someone in the same position in the future.

    * Model *.

This machine is the Toshiba Satellite L30-134, part number: PSL33E-00E013G3. It's probably very similar, but not necessarily the same as the other models L30. No invert them.

    * Original configuration *.

Processor - Intel Celeron m 410 (Cache of 1 MB, 1.46 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, Socket M). It is a simple version of the Core Duo (Yonah core) processor core. It shares nothing in common and is not swapable with the previous generation Pentium M or processors Celeron Mr. He is also incompatible with the next generation of Core 2 Duo/Solo and Pentium and Celeron processors derived from these.

Memory - A single 512MB SODIMM PC2 - 4200 (DDR2-533 MHz). This differs from the previous generation of DDR and the next generation of DDR3. The controller memory only supports single channel mode. There is no loss that the FSB of the processor is not fast enough to take advantage of the dual channel anyway.

    * BIOS *.

My laptop came with very old version 1.3. Toshiba provides the latest version (3.10) for download. This is reported to be buggy and mess with the profiles of fan so I decided to leave it alone. I can confirm that my updates work without updating the BIOS.

    * Updates *.

Processor - I swapped the Celeron for a Core Duo T2350 (1.87 GHz). Everything I read that all the Yonah core Core Duo/solo, Pentium and Celeron with a FSB of 533 are compatible. The FSB 667 models are not.

The Core Duo T2450 at 2 GHz is the highest performing compatible processor but double the price on eBay. I paid just £12 (used) for the T2350 so there is really no reason to go down now, all of these parts are obsolete.

RAM - there are 2 slots on this machine. Toshiba State a maximum of 2 GB, 1 GB in each slot. Unfortunately, the memory controller is very picky and survey of the weird errors, unless you get just the right ones.

There is not enough information to understand it so for me it was a process of trial and error. Fortunately, I found an online retailer that guaranteed compatibility in 100% and returned by mail for free.

The second pair of Poles worked well.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Why used my upgrade to the Macbook Pro to El Capitan?

    Mackbook Pro15 inches

    MAC OS X 10.6.3

Processor Intel clocked at 2.66 GHz

    Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz

I deleted my Mac pro and restored to factory setting, when I bought my new and transferred the files too.

Works great just except for bad battery, but I keep it is plugged.

Whenever I try to upgrade to the new OS (El Capitan v10.11.2) MAC it will start downloading normally, then says 'updates downloaded successfully.

What makes the tab ' installation you must restart "so I click on restart

He begins to shut down, but before he turned off the blue screen flickers and the picture below pop up.

(you can see my cursor and I can move it, but nothing else happens)

Even when I leave it just like that, luckily if I hold the power, but I can force a restart and it goes back to my MAC OS X 10.6.3 like nothing happened.

    I would like to update, but I don't understand why I can't.

Where do you download El Capitan with 10.6.3?

  • I have an iMac 2007 running osx 10.6, I would upgrade to the Mavericks.  I don't have an installation CD, how to accomplish this?

I have an iMac 2007 mid running osx 10.6 with 4 GB of Ram. I want to upgrade to the Mavericks, 10.9. I don't have the installation CD and the App store only allow me to upgrade El Capitan. I'm afraid that this will bring my iMac to a crawl. Any thoughts on how I can find an installation CD or recommend other methods to achieve this?

    Thank you

    Larry

Your model is eligible? You can install El Capitan now. There is no disk installer for use with OS X since the release of Snow Leopard. Why do you believe that El Capitan will bring your computer to a crawl, but the Mavericks will not?

If I were you I would stick with Snow Leopard, because it is more suitable for your old hardware. Note that Snow Leopard is needed in order to upgrade to Lion or later version.

    Upgrade to Snow Leopard

You can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.

After the installation of Snow Leopard you will need to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1 update Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store lets you download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.

         General requirements for Snow Leopard

    1. equipped mac to an Intel processor

    2. the 1 GB memory

    3. 5 GB of available disk space

    4. DVD drive for installation

    5. some features require a compatible Internet service provider;

    charges may apply.

    6. some features require Apple iCloud services; fees and

    conditions apply.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

  • HP DV7-3063cl laptop PC: what is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 3063 cl with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

I have recently restored a HP DV7 3063 cl laptop that died a hot mother (MB). I replaced the MB with a new Board of Directors of HP when the price has been reduced to $100, updated the CPU with an announced as new AMD 640 M and applied Arctic Silver on CPU and graphics chips. I put in 4 G memory cool, got the computer to work and installed Windows 10.

The computer seems to run very hot and stopped twice from overheating during its first period of 2 weeks when it there was not a lot of calculating, fan was run at top speed at all times, and the laptop was high to allow good airflow below.

According to the program of the Open Hardware Monitor, the CPU had reached 97-99 C a few times. I bought support cooling a player and that seems to help a lot, dropping the temperature to 20 ° C.

What is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

Anything more than 90 c is too hot. You can specify the processor and the motherboard you have installed?

Also if this from the Manual:

Thermal paste is used on 1 CPU and heat sink section 2 that the services it. Thermal pads are used on the chip Northbridge 3 and 4, the graphical subsystem chip 5 contact Northbridge and graphics/heatsink contact 6. Thermal material replacement is included with all kits of spare parts of processor, heatsink and system board.

So unless you have changed the cooling system to heat composed on the chip graphic you should have used a thermal buffer. Without the pad, it may leave just a small hallway and destroy the cooling properties. You can use a shim in copper or other piece of something metal to fill the void, but if you just put the heat sink down on the video chip you won't get optimal even with thermal cooling paste.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 6c51ea: upgrade of the dv6 6c51ea ssd and ram wifi card

    Hello
As of late I thought the upgrade or replace my laptop, but I have a few questions to help me decide.
First ram cited the speed of the processor is listed as 1066/1333 hz, however I can not check it on the site of hp and the crucial site recommend ddr3 at 1600 hz, the site hp also says is that 8 GB however apparently due to the fact that it was released on Windows 7 However the processor can support 16 GB max memory support and since upgrading to win 10 my system would be doing, is this correct?

What kind of improvements I see by installing an ssd (Samsung evo 850) 500 GB?

And finally the wifi card could be readily available and upgraded to the new ac wifi to use the router to HQ and speeds mon is provides and I pay!

So basically will be the ssd, 2 x 8 GB 1600 mhz sodimm ram, and a wifi amd card equipped for the £300 it cost would he give me the jump in performance for his money as the cpu and gpu are rather dated now (i5 2450 m and radeon 7470 m) when a new system with an i5 4th gen with 1 GB graphics , 500 GB and 16 GB of ram, ssd would cost about £900 what would be the main benefits

    Thank you very much

    Shott

I stand well partially corrected. The 8 gig RAM max was on the technical page of HP and the maintenance manual says maximum 16 concerts. As you note, it will run at 1333 mhz, but yes you can install 16 gigs and upgrade to Windows 10 made no difference there. You may installed 16 concerts with all 64-bit operating systems.
