Upgrade or buy a new
My computer is running a bit slower I want. He is currently 5 years old.
I have the info listed below for my computer. I don't want to have the burden of a
New computer if necessary at all, and I wonder if any sort of upgrade will speed up the loading of web pages
On this computer. I have high speed internet so I know this isn't the problem.
Don't know whether adding ram will make a big difference, or is the processor just age and the need to upgrade
Can you please give me your thoughts
I have a dell 530
Windows 8.1
Intel Core (TM) 2 quad CPU Q 6600 @ 2.40 GHz
64-bit operating system
6 GB installed memory

Oops, I lost somehow a piece!
Regarding speed and new material, a machine to five year, is not close to being obsolete, unless you're a maniac in the game. For most of us, as long as it works pretty well, it should be OK. My D9100 9 or 10 years old, is ONE heart with HT bogus technology, and it's very much like a basement computer. It's a slow boot, even with Fast Boot on Win 8.1, but it isn't bad. Web pages are not too slow. It started out as XP, then Vista, then Win 7 and Win 8 and soon win 10. In fact, it is second with 8 Win XP. With machines more old ones that use the integrated graphics card, add a discrete video card can help display speed. If you consider this, there are many sites that compare the viseo speed additional cards to the Intel integrated graphics card. There are a lot of cards cheap there.

Pavilion A6400f: Upgrade or buy a new
I can upgrade this computer or would it be better to buy a new one?
Everything depends on how it will be used. The OS (Operating System) will need to be updated and it seems that your configuration would support the upgrade. If it will be used for games or with heavy graphic based applications, so it might be a problem. The graphics and audio are integrated to the motherboard and use the function system memory. If the PC is just used for the basic things like e-mail or browse the web, update of the OS would be the least expensive way to go. Remember that upgrading the operating system may also require legacy applications on the PC to upgrade also. If you start to add up what needs to be updated, sometimes you will find it cheaper to buy a new.

How to upgrade a G570 instead of buying a new laptop!
Hello guys, I'll try to help you turn your old laptop to a monster based on my experiences of real... I decided to upgrade my G570 instead of buying a new laptop a few months ago. The reason was I was satisfied with my laptop and new computer did not have the card I had in my mind. And of course the phones for my requests were around $2,000 cycle. I realized that the most important part of a PC is its disk hard when it comes to performance. I have been using PC for almost 17 years and I tried to upgrade my ram and hard drive all the time like 90% of normal pc users on Earth. A friend of mine who is an it engineer advised me to use SSD instead of HARD drive. So I looked on the net on how to put my HARD drive to SSD. You can do it on your own after this wonderful http://www.insidemylaptop.com/upgrading-memory-hard-drive-lenovo-g570-laptop/ guide I bought 2 cylinders 4 GB 1333 sodimm and changed the old Rams with them. Then I changed my HARD drive with a 120 GB SSD which is high enough for today's technology. The result is my windows 7 greets me in 7 seconds! I couldn't believe my eyes... Then I bought a DVD burner drive hard transformer support that you can easily find in the market. I put the dvd drive and put my old 500 gb HDD in there. Now, I have 2 hard drives on my G570... Now, I'm looking for ways to improve my i7 processor, although I don't need... Just to finish my work... In this way, I have a great portable quick spend about $250 instead of buying a new laptop for $ 1500-2500
Thanks Dave, I only tried to think different and it worked very well. After the purchase of 8 laptops I had something too important: buying a new pc is not always the best solution. Yes, we have a new system but each system comes with its own problems and sometimes I miss my old PC. I hope this will help some ppl to decide on what it takes to succeed on a budget. Furthermore, I spoke with technicans of lenovo support and I was told that this motherboard and cpu is optimized for the best performance for the upgrade of this processor will be able to ask possible break down of the motherboard so I won't upgrade my cpu. To be honest, I really don't need that at the moment. Love to all...

I buy a new 2015 mac mini with El Capitan. I currently have a 2013 mac mini with Mountain Lion. It would benefit me to upgrade my 2013 to El Capitan, before migrating my information to my mac mini to 2015? Thanks in advance!
Yes, it is better to update the old Mac EC.
Make sure that you back up the old Mac before the upgrade.
Note the application of some may require updated to work with CBS. To check see it:
Also, some devices may require updated drivers and for some devices such drivers do not exist.

Original title: upgrade
I am operating Windows Vista. I was not able to find the instructions for upgrade to Windows 10. The upgrade site says to buy a new PC. Any advice?
Hello
You buy Windows 10, as there is no free upgrade to Vista 10.
Microsoft on Monday said CNET Windows 10 will cost just as much as its predecessor. This means price for Windows 10 will run anywhere from $110 for Windows 10 Home package at $199 for Windows 10 Pro edition. In addition a Pack Pro 10 will allow users upgrade Home Pro for $99.
http://www.CNET.com/news/Microsoft-prices-single-Windows-10-licenses-at-119-for-home-199-for-Pro/
But first make sure that you have the correct configuration and your computer manufacturer provides the right drivers for 10.

Original title: usb 3.0
I have to buy a new mouse and a keypad that is compatible usb 3.0 to upgrade to 3.0?
N °
USB 3.0 is backward compatible with your devices.
You will not remove all the ports on your computer when you add a usb 3.0 in order to continue to use the ports that you use now for your keyboard and your mouse. When you add a usb 3.0 controller on your computer you will have 3.0 ports in addition to your small gifts. USB 3.0 has audio, video, storage and mass devices most.
Keyboards and mice that you own now will not have 3.0 anyway, even with an adapter, but this isn't a problem. Because the increase in speed of 3.0 data transfer benefits hardly a device that awaits for most human movements in any case new devices are not necessary.

I have windows vista (32-bit), so if I sell it for scrap, but keep the license, buy a new computer, install windows 7 (64-bit) by using the upgrade to windows? When I say upgrade I'm talking about the updated version of windows Home premium, i.e. There is a full and then there is the upgrade (only for those who have vista or xp). I'm not worried about any problem of hardware, or drivers or any other problem, just strictly issues of software operating system (between the license). Please just say yes or no and explain if necissary. Thank you.
No, you can't sell the license and keep it at the same time. In addition, the Windows 7 upgrade depends on a license previous qualification. If you use Vista as a qualifying product, it becomes an integral part of the license and is not transferable to another computer.
Since the Windows end user license agreement:
17. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY. You can transfer the software directly to a not third parties only with the licensed computer. The transfer must include the software and the certificate of Authenticity label. You can't keep all copies of the software or any earlier version. Before any transfer authorized, the other party must accept that this agreement applies to the transfer and use of the software.

So I installed my Mac at El Captian & annoyingly my version of VMware fusion (5.0.3) is no longer supported and will not open.
Even more annoyingly VMware fusion offer upgrades to the new version for those who use the version 6 or later.
In any case, big question if I buy the new version is there a way I can still access my current setup?
Would like if someone could let me know. I am self employed & I've got software out there that are vital for work :/
Hello
Welcome to the VMware communities forum.
There is no problem with the Fusion 8 recognizing of your virtual machines to Fusion 5 (or more), it will go just pick up where you left off.
There are a few borderline cases, as it officially you should have your virtual machines closed and not suspended and preferably without clichés before upgrading to a newer version of the merger. However, in practice I saw real topics with that either.
Note that it is recommended to backup your virtual machines before going any further. Do this by copying them to an external drive (not dependent on time machine for backups of virtual machines) and then disconnect the drive.
You can start using on Fusion 8 for 30 days trial period, simply download it from here:
Try VMware Fusion or Fusion Pro. Run Windows on a Mac without rebooting.
Once it works as you want, simply assign the license to the merger to change it in the full licensed version.
Hope this helps,

I'm on the last update of lightroom 5 and captive capture still does not work with el Capitan. are there plans to upgrade or do I have to buy the new lightroom 6?
Hi Yanni,
Tethered shooting works fine with Lightroom 6.4 on El Capitan.
You can then go ahead and buy Lightroom and perform the tethered shooting.
Kind regards

I have Dreamweaver CS4 and you have upgraded to Mac 10.11.1 - Dreamweaver, stop working for me. Is there an upgrade available? Do I have to buy a new one? If I have to buy a new version it keeps all my files?
You're better off with the latest version you can buy on a monthly payment plan. See here the new features Dreamweaver CC | Buy Adobe Dreamweaver CC
All your files will be retained when you install a new version. Indeed, Dreamweaver CS4 will remain on your system if you wish.

I have to buy a new motherboard for the upgrade?
I have the HP Pavilion P6130y and I want to get the geForce GTX 460 and this power supply
What I have to buy a new motherboard for this to work or am I fine with the motherboard I have now?
My computer motherboard is here
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01635734
Hello
The power supply that you intend to buy should work fine with your motherboard. The only thing that I would say check, as with any upgrade, is that the power supply and new graphics card will physically ok inside the Tower - always best to check with a rule in order to ensure
Best wishes

I upgraded my Adobe Acrobat in 2009 to the Acrobat 9 Pro. I had to buy a new computer so when I installed Acrobat 9 Pro with my serial number, he now seeks a number of earlier version. It has been 6 years, so I don't even have the previous Acrobat program or it's serial number. How can I get my Acrobat 9 Pro activated with my current serial number so that I can begain to use the program.
You can try to contact Adobe and see if they can help. See if you can find a proof of purchase of the old version.

I am running Acrobat 9 Pro (9.5.5). Do we not have to buy the new version if we have never updated? Or we have the right to upgrade to the latest version.
I'm not really clear on the intent of your question. If you can get the latest version you want to buy it. When you go to buy, you should be able to see if it has an option to buy an update of the version you currently have. I can't find the purchase page to check it out myself... I can only find the subscription option.

I am entitled to an upgrade, as I have CS3 I want to buy a new mac and install the upgrade on the new computer. How can I do this?
If you get two new machines and the CS3 allows you to get the price reduced for a year then you should certainly pursue it. However, I always recommend people to try before you buy. When you get the new machines install the trial version and make sure that it works for you correctly. Once you have confirmed it correct functions, then you can purchase the subscription.

move windows 7 on a new hard drive
I have an oem version of windows 7 Home premium and I was thinking about adding a velociraptor to speed up my system, I would be able to switch from windows to a new hard drive without buying a new copy of windows and if yes, how I would do. all this would be on the same computer that I do not know if what counts.
