upgrade sleekbook 6z amd form

HP Envy 6z

Product # B3C88AV

I upgraded to amd a10 hearts - 4655 m, ssd crucial 128 GB, 16 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz ram m4.

No other factory options have been added outside of the apu.

I'm running Kubuntu beta 12.10, with the Windows 7 virtual machine.

Course possible return to dual boot for school work.

My question is very simple just thought I would add my upgrades material just incase.

I want to upgrade my screen with a resolution higher, but don't know where to buy.

I don't know if I can still do this, but I don't see why not. I know that the RAM of apu shares

with the rest of the system, that's why I mentioned the upgrade. I think I read that

the apu can use up to 3 GB of video graphics.

Any constructive response would be awsome.

Thank you.

I forgot to add, I would use HP screen if possible.

There is only a single available display screen. There is a specific motherboard available for the processor to that you upgraded and it is perhaps the only difference in the graphics capabilities of the Sleekbook.  Don't forget that the APU is in the laptop AMD Trinity A10 processor and not another discreet module.

I did some research and saw that the current processor (AMD Phenom II x 4 910 (2.6 ghz)) can be upgraded to the AMD Phenom II x 4 980 (3.7 ghz) cpu.  I also intend on the old graphics card (Radeon HD 4350) in switching to a Radeon 7850.

I tried to see if I needed to update my bios before install the new processor and I couldn't find a suggestion in the section Support & drivers specific to the HP Web site for my model computer.  The HP site says that he would suggest somehow if an update was available.

Supported for my motherboard is AM3 - b.

All upgrades processor, when I search on ebay, amazon and newegg, appear as AM3 +.

When I look for the FX-8150 (Zambezi) processor, it redirects me to the FX-8350 Black Edition Vichera 8 - Core.

I would buy and use the 8-Core Vichera.

My question: is he supported by my motherboard?

The HP website seems to suggest it is but I have friends and other sources who say that maybe it's not.

Please clarify this issue for me.

    Hello

I'm hoping to upgrade my current processor to the one mentioned in the title. I need to update my BIOS for the new processor to run?

    Data sheet:

Compaq Presario CQ5210Y desktop PC product specification

    Changes:

    • Swapped the 1 GB of RAM for a 2 GB parts
    • Past to a 500W power supply
    • Upgrade to a GTS 450 (running to the 1.162V with 1 GHz Core clock, shader clock 2 GHz and clock memory of 2.08 GHz)
    • Increase the FSB to 250 MHz (making the 3.3 GHz processor speed and memory speed 1 GHz.)
    • Will be upgrading to 4 GB RAM 1 GHz for this month (Yes, I realize that the motherboard it will slow up to 800 MHz, but the FSB increase will push up the normal RAM clock speeds close.) Current memory only has some small problems with the speed increase, but otherwise running perfectly stable).

Now, with that of the road, I'm back to my original question: Y at - it an update of the BIOS for my motherboard? If there isn't, will I need to be able to use the newprocessor?

No update of the BIOS and the new processor should run in your system without a BIOS update.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - upgrade RAM of the former model A200

    Hello

I need an advice. I just took a memory (Samsung) 1 GB of more old model Satellite A200 module and put it on my new model Satellite Pro A300. Here is the information about the SPD:

_Original (which has been installed in the factory): _

    DIMM1: Kingston (2 GB DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)

    @ 200 MHz 3-3-3-9 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 12-21-2-3-2-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)

According to the information provided was it a good or bad idea? I mean differences in the SPD and will this performance, stability, etc. ?

Thanks a lot for your time!

    Hi xosman,

According to the information that you have posted it seems that the other Satellite A200 module has the same specifications, so if your laptop works with this module it s no problem I think.

Satellite A200 A300 using the same memory modules DDR2 so change the RAM is no problem.

  • upgrade of e300 AMD processors

The 1.3 Ghz processor is a little on the slow side so I was wondering if I could just buy a faster processor and plug?

    Here are the specs.

    Thank you

Yes with a lot of pain and sadness. Why not just buy a SSD? Much easier to install and more expensive and it will make you think you double the speed of the processor. I'm a bit of a crusade for change of thought. Back in the day, to accelerate the process of a computer, you have thought in terms of memory and a faster processor. The bottleneck is now the hard drive 5400 RPM of old school. We can do this shot upward with the rest of the modern components with a SSD drive.

    Hello Sir,

Small form factor PC is poor candidates for upgrades.

They are PC entry level designed and produced to run software on corporate networks office productivity.

A power supply for a Mini PC upgrade won't be over 240 Watts as far as I know.

There has been a lot of people who are looking to save money by buying a small form factor PC entry and believe they can be upgraded as a PC game.  It's just not really practical. You may be able to upgrade the video card that can run games modern, but adding that a video card beasty and just food will not happen.

Read through some of the threads where many people try in vain to upgrade their PCs. If you want a gaming machine, it is better to buy one or make one yourself.

    Hi all

I would like to know more about whether or not I can upgrade my laptop to a higher level CPU. The manual that I dug up on the site of HP support is difficult to interpret so I thought it would be better to ask here. Thanks in advance!

    @ColeofTPG

This is the best you can get for the socket you have.

    Processor AMD A10 - 5750M 2.50 GHz (turbo up to 3.50 GHz, 1600 MHz FSB, quad 4: 0 - MB L2 cache, DDR3, core, 35 W) 713548-001

One you have the base frequency is 2.90 GHz and turbo is 3.50 GHz with 1 MB of L2 cache.

    AMD A6 - 5350M processor 2.90 GHz (turbo up to 3.50 GHz; 1600 MHz FSB, 1, 0 - MB L2 cache, DDR3, dual-core, 35 W) 713550-001

  • Is it possible to upgrade CPU on my Satellite C

Is it possible to upgrade my processor AMD E1-1200 1.4ghtz what anyone faster than that,
I want to be able to play FIFA14 apparently she drags on the current processor.

My ram is 6 GB and I think that's enough.

Usually these updates is not supported by any laptop manufacturer.

But I read in some discussions that to some were able to upgrade the Intel processors in laptops own. But your laptop (which model of phone is it exactly?) seems to be equipped with an AMD processor and I guess that the chipset is AMD too.
In this case only the AMD CPUS would be compatible with the AMD chipset.

However, even if the AMD chipset would be favorable to another CPU, I guess you would have problems with BIOS. In many cases, the compatibility of the BIOS might be the main reason why a CPU upgrade would not work.

  • Processor AMD A6 - 3400M install on Satellite C850-11F

    Hello, I need help.

I have toshiba satelite C850-11F and I got new A6-3400 amd CPU and I do not know if I put the cpu in my laptop it would function normally.

    Thank you

To be honest, my experience with the upgrades of the AMD CPU is limited. I have improved some laptops equipped with Intel processors, and it's very delicate because BIOS supported not all processors, even if the chipset is.

However, the upgrade of the AMD processor could be much more delicate because of the support of the chipset.
I think that the processors are completely different E1-1200 (currently in your notebook) takes to load two carrots (Zacate code name) and A6 - 3400M supports the 4 cores of the processor called Llano.
    It may also differ.

Then from there where I bit you won't stand a chance with this new processor

which processors I've upgraded to I have a compaq presario cq57-319wm windows 7 64-bit like faster processor, I have an AMD C-50 processor now

The following CPU's option upgrade processors

    AMD® E450 1.65 GHz processor (dual-core, 18 W)

    AMD E350 1.60 GHz processor (dual-core, 18 W)

    AMD E300 1.30 GHz processor (dual-core, 18 W)

    AMD C50 1.00 GHz processor (1, 0 MB L2 cache, dual core, 9 W)

One of the first three three registered will have a remarkable performance superior to the simple core currently installed C50.

Coupling of those with a SSD drive for an upgrade and you won't believe it's the same laptop.
