Hello
My personal opinion is that you buy a more recent machine as Vista Basic came on machines that have the material basis for it requirements.
Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

The product key for my Windows XP Home Edition is: XXXX-deleted-XXXX. While working in the PC, I get a MESSAGE"blingin on-screen ' OSB LOCKED: I want to know how to stop the message often displayed blinging."
My second question is can I upgrade my system Windows Vista freely.
My Hotmail ID of single widows is: [redacted]
Rigaut
First of all - do not post in a public forum product keys.
Second - "OSB LOCKED"... Of course you did not mean "OSD LOCKED? (a 'd' and not a 'B'...)
OSD is the "On Screen Display" and has nothing to do with what version of Windows you have - but with yor monitor. Look here:
http://www.thefakegeek.com/2009/04/how-to-unlock-an-OSD-lockout-problem/
http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/other-desktop-PC-questions/OSD-locked/TD-p/40291Last - is impossible to freely pass your system to Windows Vista. Windows Vista is a product different from Windows XP and you will need to obtain a license.

Why can't I enter my upgrade key after Windows Anytime Upgrade on Vista?
I bought the software update Window 7 Ultimate. I followed the instructions on the box:
Click the Start button
In the search box, type Windows Anytime Upgrade
Click Windows Anytime Upgrade and clide enter an upgrade key.
Yet, there is no link that says enter an upgrade key. There is only a link to the site Web microsoft talks Windows 7.
I downloaded the Windows Upgrade Advisor. I did everyting that he told me to do. He checked that the computer was eligible for an upgrade (Toshiba Satellite running Vista). I tried again with the Windows Anytime Upgrade again. There is still no link to enter the upgrade key.
What should I do to get to the place to enter the upgrad key?
Please note that there are no Windows Anytime Upgrade (WAU) for Windows Vista to Windows 7. There is only Windows Upgrade (WU) in which you need to buy a Windows 7 disc and upgrade of the key. You can refer to the link below for more information about upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7.

Windows Vista Edition upgrade Home Premium Windows Vista Business
Hello
I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv6 1199EE laptop and it has a version of Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 system Type 32 bit installed.
Now, I want this transition to Windows Vista Business full Edition without formatting & reinstall OS because I don't want to lose the features & programs came with the lap top. I would buy the Windows Vista Professional with the product key on the local market in my country.
First of all, I want your advice what is the best Vista professional should I buy?
Second, what are the professional measures to update without formatting the hard drive of my laptop?
Concerning
Mr. Sayadi
You cannot upgrade Vista Home Premium to Vista Business.
It is not a Vista upgrade path.
You have clean installation, back up ALL your data and reinstall all the programs.
Upgrade paths:
-of Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate.
-from Vista Home Premium to Ultimate.
-from Vista Business to UltimateAnd there's no. Vista Business Ultimate version.
You will need to purchase a full version of Vista Business and do a clean install.
OR buy a Vista Ultimate upgrade version and do a upgrade.
If you do an upgrade to Vista Ultimate, it SHOULD be with a 32-bit Ultimate Upgrade disk.
There is only a single company of Vista, but you can buy the full version 32 bit or 64 bit OS and do a clean install...
All depends on the amount of RAM for the need to use.

Read the info above the link to compare the versions; then make your choice.

Perform a custom installation of Windwos 7 on Windows Vista:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Should I upgrade XP to Windows 7 or Vista, why & the one who?
Appears XP becomes quickly extinguished what operating system do and why? When I change I upgrade or install the new system?
Unless you have a specific reason for the upgrade, there don't seem to be any urgent reason to do.
If you think you want, or would benefit, features that are in Windows 7, the first thing to do - if you want to keep your existing hardware - is to determine if your existing hardware can handle Windows 7. Use the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. To increase the chances that you will be satisfied with the upgrade, I suggest that you have much more than the minimum of 1 GB of RAM and a hard disk of small. You will also need to determine whether you can get Windows 7 drivers for your hardware, including motherboard, sound card, video card, network card and other devices.
If your existing computer is more than 4 years old, or marginal hardware, consider whether the purchase of a new computer with Windows 7 pre-installed makes more sense than buying Windows 7 at retail price and try to install it on your existing computer. Remember that if you install Windows 7 on your existing computer, you need to backup all your data to an external device so that you can copy after that Win 7 has been installed.
