a gold/silver levels removed? If this is not the case, how to get back my gold status?

These improvements to gold status may take a little while (72 h) so if you change the account that you log in you may lose status gold for a little while.

  • trying to update to safari without OSX update

I have a 2007 IMac and (10.6.8) running snow leopard and Safari (5.1.10). Many programs and applications that I try to tell me that my browser is obsolete. I'm maxed out on 3 GB of RAM and when I tried to upgrade to El Capitan, I've been invited could not be installed on my computer (maybe because I don't have enough RAM). Is it possible to update Safari without updating my operating system upgrade from GOLD to one other than El Capitan OSX?

It is not possible. Safari is updated only when you upgrade to OS X. I doubt that your model can run anything higher than the Lion, but see below:

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

    My applications are compatible?

See table of application - RoaringApps compatibility

    Upgrade to Lion

If your computer does not meet the requirements to install the Mavericks, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

You can buy Lion to the Apple store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus taxes.  It's a download. You will receive an email with a redemption code that you then use on the Mac App Store for download Lion. Save a copy of this installer to your download folder because Setup deletes itself at the end of the installation.

    Lion system requirements

1 mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,

    or Xeon processor

    2. 2 GB of memory

    3 OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.6.8) recommended

    4. 7 GB of available space

    5. certain features require an Apple ID; conditions apply.

  • FSX with acceleration gold Edition starts now when I upgraded to Windows 7. It happens just with blue logo start FSX and crashes.

I ran FSX with acceleration gold edition on my Dell inspion 520 with Windows Vista Edition home premium SP1 and 2 and it worked very well.  Now I updated to Windows 7 Home premium and it just hangs.  I uninstalled FSX and acceleration completely and even delete the directories and given it a clean install.  It seeks to build the database markings and landscapes, and then I let myself just with blue logo start FSX and even after a few hours, nothing happens. It would help if she had an error message, but nothing.  I have also reinstalled the driver for my NVIDIA GEforce 9400 graphics card and checked DirectX and its says its fine.  I have dual core 1.66 32-bit with 4 GB of ram.  Someone has any idea how to solve what Miss me my vol. I tried also to start with compatibility for Win Vista SP1 and 2 settings, as well as Win XP.  I can't get my WinTv Nova-t work either which suggests that it is a graphics problem.

    Hi AMrita,
I always had the problem last night but I was check the forums and I now after much deliberation to be fixed.  When I go into the Device Manager, I checked all the drivers including the audio player and I was informed that they were all updated and works very well.  Although I had sounds and music I check the setting in 'Control Panel', but this is no software not loaded and nothing is even not a mistake.  I then tried to download the latest software and driver from Realtek for Audio ALC888 and got the following error while installing - an error (-5009: 0x8002802b occurred) previous installation did not finish.  On Googling this error I found a solution in one of the forums that was as follows: to

Delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\Runtime - folder or rename it, just in case.

and then run the windows 7 install for the sound card Realtek and it is now successfully downloaded.  The PC restarts, I started FSX and now its running fine.

Thanks for the help... got in the end and think I could play music and watch a movie and the sound was very good.

  • Problem Apple upgrade program

Tried to order my new iPhone 7Plus only minutes after midnight the ninth day, I used the Apple upgrade program, told me that there not to have, then I tried again still no, then I tried again and the only one they had in the configuration I wanted was a gold Rose, that I did not want this year have my heart set on one of the two black.   I'm pretty bummed, because Apple said you would be able to upgrade your phone every year, some of my friends who use the AT & T the next program have been able to get their phones very easily, so I stayed for nothing basically.   Everyone experienced this with the Apple upgrade program?   I have contact Apple and talking with the specialist and apparently, they try to address this problem and make us our phones, but I didn't get anything this either yet, knows everyone of Apple and exactly how they will take care of this?

You will have to wait for a response from Apple. There are also discussions in other forums who have indicated that you have lived, and Apple is working on it. Nothing that someone here could help.

  • After that update to Firefox 8, the secure gold lock that appears in the corner, when signing to websites is gone

Hi, I would like to know that when I sign in the Bank or other sites requiring a password that the site is secure. Firefox used to have a small lock gold down in the corner of the right hand to let you know that you signed in a secure site. After the upgrade to Firefox 8, that the lock is gone. How do you know if the page you log on is secure?

The status bar is gone and the 'blocking' with her, from Firefox 4.0. Safety information on a web page are shown by the Site identity button.

The former lock could give users a false sense that a site is safe to not to provide information to the site and showed that there is a secure connection that does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server. The Site identity button is introduced in Firefox 3.0 to show more complete information of 'identity' for HTTPS web pages.

  • How to upgrade Windows xp to SP2

computer remained in storage. How upgrading to sp2

If WinXP SP2 is not installed, you cannot have a functional application of the antivirus installed & the computer must NOT be connected to the internet!

Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

HOW to do a clean install of Windows XP: see method 1 and http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html#steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978307

NOTE: If your computer came with a set of disks, there is a hidden partition restore (not to be confused with the restoration of the system) you would use to do the clean install (AKA a "destructive recovery").

After the new installation, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of EVERYTHING on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) AND BEFORE to plug in a flash, SD card, or any other external drive to the computer otherwise:

  • Error: The installer cannot set Windows XP required configuration information during the upgrade to Windows XP Home SP3 of Windows XP Pro.

Original title: OEM Windows XP Home SP3 update XP Pro

Here is a compilation of the messages from another forum regarding
    My problem:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to upgrade a Windows XP Home Sp3 OEM system to
Windows XP Pro. (There are a few Pro features
that are not available in the House I now need: (1) the files offline and
    (2) an add-on available for free to Onenote 2007, Top2onenote, requires a Pro).
I don't want a clean install, but an upgrade. I bought a Windows XP Pro
Upgrade CD on Ebay that was Windows XP Pro
Gold (v2002). I'm sure that's true for the following reasons:

It has been listed as an upgrade, but the CD is not labeled "Upgrade".
It seems very authentic with all Microsoft holography.
He came in the standard package of Windows XP (without box),
    and it was sealed.
The name of volume for the CD is WXPFPP_EN. The Internet,.
It is the retail of Windows XP Pro RTM (gold)!

Here are things I tried initially.

    (1) I tried to upgrade to Pro from the purchased CD. It is immediately
has refused to upgrade indicating the upgrade OS (Pro) is older than the
    installed OS (home)...

    (2) I read about "slipstreaming". "Slipstreaming" allows to integrate
a service pack with an earlier version of the operating system. I created a
upgrade XP Pro SP3 with Nlite slipstreamed CD image (and
Autostreamer later, but it made no difference) from the purchased CD
    and a file containing SP3.

After you burn the CD and start the upgrade
    (Windows installation), the upgrade process
    product through "information collection."
"Dynamic update" and "Preparation of Installation" with
no problems. My computer restarted and returned to
"Installation preparation". A progress bar called 'Progress '.
quickly filled to about 90% and the hanging system
at that time there for about 15 minutes.
Then, I got the following error message:

Setup cannot set the required Windows XP configuration
information. This indicates an internal Setup error.

This is where I am stuck. I had to leave the installation at this point.
My drive is starts raining and I had to restore a backup.

    (3) just for the heck of it, I formatted my hard drive and
reinstalled my original OEM XP Home SP3 OS (no clean up, no user file).
I immediately used my XP CD slipstreamed Pro to try one
upgrade to XP Pro and IT WORKED! I need to find out why the
properly clean XP Home OS upgraded to XP Pro but my pre-existing
(with the files users, drivers, etc..) XP Home OS does not level
    successfully to XP Pro.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Another post:

Yet once, today, I installed a new copy of OEM Windows XP Home Sp3.
I continue with installation of all the essential and the add-on
pilots (essentially all my original version). Then, I
set up a network connection and firewall. With this configuration,.
I ran the Pro XP slipstreamed SP3 CD. The upgrade to XP Pro
success (even if the upgrade not configured my graphics
card properly). I guess my current problem is either the registry,
the WINDOWS, some user file or parameter file.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Another post:

I made a file and the backup of the folder C:\Windows folder
on my system that is pre-existing (OEM XP Home Sp3). I also did a
separate the backup the State of the 'system' on my pre-existing system.
These are added my full image backup of her pre-existing
    system a month ago.

I did a backup image of my system (minimum fees OEM XP Home
SP3 with all the original installed drivers over a network configured
connection and a firewall configured). This system will upgrade
XP Pro with XP Pro SP3 slipstreamed CD successfully.

    Experiment 1:

I've restored my minimum system. I then restored the C:/Windows folder
and the State of the pre-existing system backup system. A startup
has managed (with a minor irritant). I had to activate Windows.
Then, I tried upgrading the slipstreamed XP Pro processor. He stopped
at the same place during the upgrade and gave the same error as before:

Setup cannot set the required configuration information Windows XP.
This indicates an internal Setup error.

    Experiment 2:

I've restored my minimum system. I then restored the system state only
the backup of the pre-existing system. After startup I was asked to
activate Windows, but answer Yes to the question would be to disconnect me
the system. I couldn't get connected to try the XP Pro upgrade.

    Experience 3:

I've restored my minimum system. I then restored only the C:/Windows
the backup of the pre-existing system folder. Once again, as in experiment 1,
the upgrade failed at the same place with the same error message.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Before the experiment 3, I hoped that 3 experience would succeed so I
could conclude that I had a registry problem. I'm not sure now.
I don't know what to try next. Take the minimum system and reinstalling
my files of the user is not an option that my hard drive has over 200 GB of
programs! If I restore all files and folders of my pre-existing
I would still have backup to restore a system state the reliable (read the registry).
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for the length! If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate your responses.

    Thank you

  • Need help on a Canon DSLR upgrade

We had the original Digital Rebel and he failed and guaranteed has been replaced with an XTi at some point years ago.

My wife does most of the time catalog photography to Web resolution. It has no needs print, high number of pixels is not really necessary. This work mainly includes the clothes on the mannequins but also jewellery and bags/shoes/belts in a light box. Sometimes really close/macro for the stamps of jewelry is very convenient.

She is currently the target EF 17-40mm f / 4L USM on the XTi.

This camera has been well, but is to be upgraded.

    My wives main concerns:

-LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT-> I'm not an expert, but she always seeks to get more light in his pictures. We have umbrella lights in his studio with high 5000 lumen k lights and a few other types of low-cost video-lights to increase the light. Even with these, she's always experimenting ISO higher and one additional lighting.

-Rapid fire. The XTi when using the built-in flash will often 'busy' and him to wait to take the next picture. Haven't tried a flash add-on to see if it's better.

-Light-> she's a small person and a lighter camera with long sessions of photography will help.

I was watching the SL1 as an update in our price range ($ 550 with goal by default or not). It seemed small and relatively the same characteristics than the 60 d/T5i and not far from the 70 d. The 70 d does not have better specs than the SL1, but the price range of 1000-1100 does not seem worth to its application. I think it would be money better spent on a better objective?

The SL1 seems like a track for his goal? Any recommendations of lens?

    techjedi wrote:

I thank you all for your continuous advice.

I think we'll go with the T5i because extra points AF seems valid for any other use in the future outside the studio, and since the cameras are under $ 50 from each other, it is quite valuable. The SL1 lighter seemed attractive, but she already uses the XTi which is similar in size to the T5i and never really reported problems with weight.

Skirball, I am interested in your recommendations for manual flushing. In addition, if you can recommend good books on studio with lightning lighting arrangements, let me know, they would probably make good gifts and we do not want to read and learn and not only wait for others of us tell how to configure things.

    Thank you once again!

I'd be happy to.  Just a note on the T5i.  There is actually no more AF points, the points he has are all cross sensor.  However, a difference of $50, it's smart calling in my opinion.

On the lights (my favorite subject

I highly recommend manual only lightning (flashes).    The learning curve is just a bit more delicate than eTTL, but manual is more consistent, controllable and it will be much cheaper.  Another disadvantage to splinters is that there is no modeling light, if you don't see where the shadows are until you take a picture - but it is mainly for creative Flash photography, by the sounds of what makes your wife she will have some basic configurations and won't bother with it much.  And a final on the flank, batteries.  I don't know what kind of rate you're wife shoots - are we talking dozens, hundreds or even thousands per day?  If it's on the high side then batteries are going to drive you crazy.    If it's a few hundred a day then batteries are fine as long as she's ok by placing them in the charger each night.  If we are talking about the tens, then a set of batteries will last a week easy.

In view of these limitations, the absolute leader in off-camera manual flash is the Yongnuo 560 series.  The flash of 560III built in the RF Receiver, so you don't have to worry about cords or the line of sight or additional sensors.  The best part is that they cost only $70 and are more strong enough for your wife to shoot at ISO 100 and not even max flash.  Add to that with the YN-560-TX transmitter, photo that goes on your camera and you can control the power level and zoom all the 560III blinks directly from your device.  It can also control the non-560III with an extra receiver flashes, but it looks like you don't have to worry about this.

I recommend 3 flashes, as well as the transmitter.  Looks like you already have light modifiers and so on.  3 flashes can have a light touch, fill (or just another button for pictures of products where you usually get rid of the shadow), and it leaves a for your background if necessary.  That's $260 for 3 flashes off-camera with RF triggers - you won't beat that anywhere.

Trigger (should be 1 of them):

Flashes (as much as you want, but I wouldn't take less than 2):

Of course, you also need the AA batteries.  The gold standard is the Eneloop.  Not cheap, but worth it if you shoot a lot of flash:

Looks like she got modifiers.  Umbrellas are fine, I've used them for many years myself.  But I moved to softboxes a few years and now my umbrellas only get used to photograph architectural.  If your wife has a studio and space (i.e. does not need something which can be folded for storage) the Fotodiox are amazing quality for the price.  They come in a variety of different forms, just make sure that the connector is for a flash, not a studio light.  Here is an example:

Otherwise there are several cheap, foldable style softboxes there, which give more control an umbrella (but not necessary, umbrellas are a fine option).

As for the books.  I know a little, but anything in a book is also on the web (although the web is not a good gift).  Make sure you just to check David Hobby (aka The Strobist), Web site.  There is everything you need to know and more info on flash.  Here is the beginning of the "class":

    http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/03/lighting-101.html

Your wife should know some of them to work with the hot lights, but there are fundamental differences between flash and continuous (warm light) that needs to be understood.  This site will explain the.  Regarding donations, I own the book Syl arena (another well-known 'Strobist'), the aptly named speed lighters Handbook:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Speedliters-Handbook-learning-craft-Speedlites/DP/032171105X/ref=sr_1_sc_1?IE=...

Really well written.  Just keep in mind (instead of him be overwhelmed with all this info) that what you try to do is relatively easy - small fixed objects that you try only lighting, instead of really creative.  Paste in a light box and put a flash on each side.  Or paste a soft box on each side at 45-45 (potrait photographers everywhere are dug at the thought) and a third on the backdrop, if you want white.  If you want black, better yet, just don't use a light (it's much, much easier with flashes that it's your current setup).

Sorry to ramble... I love talking about flash.

I bought a used under Windows XP SP2 desktop computer.  I need to upgrade to SP3 to run MS Office Home and Student 2010.  I was not able to be upgraded.  Help!

If I where to install SP3 I would choose to download the
file and don't use automatic updates.

Where to download the SP3 Setup file:
(The file is large but only installs the components required by your PC)

Your computer must be at least level SP1 or SP2 SP3 will not be
    install on XP Gold.

I would also create a "save image" of my front disc
to install SP3 just in case you have problems.
Not having any Image backup software:
Try the 'True Image' (has a 15 day trial version available)

If you use a third-party firewall brand, of course, it is up to date (latest version)
