Upgrade to webOS 1.0.2

My Pre came pre-installed with webOS version 1.0.1 and chances are that is your responsibility. Here's a quick guide to make upgrades to 1.0.2!

  1. Click the Launcher
  2. Return on the 3rd or last page
  3. Strike updates
  4. Let the search for updates
  5. Download the update (time to download different depending on your 3 g signal or wifi connectivity)
  6. Install the update (it will take about 10 minutes)
  7. Fact!

Which is updated? I'm not quite sure. Read something about Sudoku and clock radio apps

While this works, I have another list of possible solutions, that should work (listed from simplest to most complex):

1. close and reopen the application of updates.  Wait 60 seconds and try again.

2. launch the application of device information and click Reset the Options.  Then click on restart.  Once the phone has been restarted, try again.

3. at this point, restored as close to "out of the box" you can is suggested.  Restart Device Info, click Reset the Options, and then click clear partial.  FYI, this deletes everything from the files EXCEPT device placed on the device via USB Mode (the last option, Full erase this and takes MUCH longer).   Then try again updates.

If all goes well, one of the above will work, you will be updated to the latest version (1.0.2, so far!) of webOS.

Oh and look here for info on the restoring information after an update: http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/44827_en.html

  • Upgrade to webOS 3.4.0.77 on TouchPad

I have improved my TouchPad to the latest webOS 3.4.0.77 last night and based on what has happened past that there may be a bug in the version.

I have a game installed, Super Sudoku HD, and it worked fine until after the upgrade.  Now, if the keyboard is in portrait mode, the game it's in landscape mode and vice versa.  This means that the controls are off the screen.

Someone else has met a similar problem with their applications?  Because the application worked fine before the upgrade, I doubt, it is an application problem; However, to be sure, I also contacted the developer of the application.

    Thank you

    Nicholas.

For the record, Yes, the broken BONE the application but a fix was done (on demand) and provided to HP to distribute.

  • Another App Catalog problem, since the upgrade to webOS 1.4.1.1

Since I've updated webOS, I have unsuccessfully to download something from the App Catalog.  If I try to download a free application, or the one and only app that I paid for (which is saying I can download it for free, given that my credit card has already been charged), I get the same result.

After I clicked "Download", the "Download" bar... "appears at the bottom of the screen.  And then he left just like that until I give up and click on the "App Catalog" drop-down list, then "Pause all downloads" and then "remove paused downloads.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Genius is recommend at this time to resolve this issue, customers should do a partial deletion (delete Apps & data).  For more information on the conduct of this deletion, see restarting and resetting your phone in our support knowlegebase.

Your backup of your Palm profile should restore all your purchased applications and contact information (if you are synergy with Google, Yahoo, etc. that if she didn't is not manually add these accounts is, data will be restored as well;). See using backup for a list of what is and is not backed up and restored on your phone.

If there is anyone who IS NOT solve this problem, we need to look more closely at your phone.  However from what we have seen this solution should work for most who have this problem.

I was also asked if anyone seeing that this problem has got their phone hang on to the point where they removed their battery to solve, if so please let us know.

  • BUGS: Pre calendar treats Saturday 1st title of 2nd Saturday, brings also 3rd Saturday as BYMONTHDAY = 21 (but the migration is apparently not)

After having closed the thread of questions related to migration of DTA, I discovered a new failure in the Pre calendar application.  It's using DTA 1.1 and WebOS 1.1, only syncing my Palm profile.  The next of VCALENDAR record is in my migration.mig file (I changed the incorrect initial INTERVAL 1 interval = 12 =):

    BEGIN:VCALENDARVERSION:2.0PRODID:Nova-MigrationBEGIN:VEVENTUID:818CATEGORIES:UnfiledCLASS:PUBLICSUMMARY:Woodward Dream CruiseDTSTART:20040821BEGIN:VALARMACTION:DISPLAYTRIGGER:-PT7200MDESCRIPTION:Woodward Dream CruiseEND:VALARMRRULE:FREQ=MONTHLY;INTERVAL=12;BYDAY=3SAEND:VEVENTEND:VCALENDAR

In this case, the initial event occurs on 21/08/2004, which is the 3rd Saturday in August.  Note that August 2004 starts on a Sunday, which I think is German for this particular failure.  This means that Saturday, August 7 is the 1st Saturday in August, not the 2nd.

The migration process initially placed the repetitive event on the thing to the day in 2009, namely, Saturday, August 15, which is the 3rd Saturday.

However, I don't have a five-day-advance alarm today (Monday, 10 August 2009) on my pre (but I had one on my Treo 700 p, which has all my old data calendar loaded on him), so I went to the event on Saturday, 15 August 2009 (where the migration process had placed) and opened it to inspect it.

First of all, I noticed that there are a set of alarm for five days in advance, so I opened the property repeat monthly custom and found that it was set to 'Every month on the 21st [sic]', 'Every 12 months', ' repeat until that Forever. "  It was clearly wrong and does not match the date at which the migration process had placed the event for 2009 (Saturday, August 15, the 3rd Saturday in August 2009).

Even stranger, when I slipped back monthly custom property page repeat (why is there not a Cancel option to get out of these pages without modification?) he must have accepted the 'change' of ' monthly on 21st [translation] "because the event disappeared from where the migration process had placed (August 15, 2009), and it showed on August 21, 2009 , instead.

At this point, I thought that I could access the event initial (21 August 2004) and change the 'monthly on 21st [sic]""monthly on the 3rd Saturday.  That's when I discovered the 2nd (probably related) bug: were the only options available in the event of 'head ':

    "Daily".

    "Weekly".

"Every month on the 21st [sic]" (enabled)

'Every month on the 4th Saturday' (!)

"Each year the [translation] 21 August [sic]" (geez, it would be really hard to be grammatically correct, you think?)

So, I reached a dead end.  Saturday, August 21, 2004 is clearly not the 4th Saturday, but apparently the Pre calendar program does not know that (again)!

In summary, I documented two bugs:

    (1) the "RRULE:FREQ = MONTHLY; RANGE = 12; BYDAY = 3SA"clause contained in the migration.mig file has been munged (it's a term of scientific programming)"every month on the 21st [sic]. "  I don't know if this has been done by the migration process, but it seems unlikely, because the migration process apparently placed the original recurring events on the appropriate dates.  Only after opening one of these events and inspect the property to repeat monthly custom (and getting caught by the Pre Calenar 'feature' of not being able to leave inspecting the property without modifications) made the event move to 21 of every August, as indicated by the property of repeat incorrect on the monthly of custom.

    (2) for an event that starts on Saturday, where the month starts on a Sunday, the timing of the front (but apparently not the migration process) is a 'one stop' error and suppose Saturday, March 1st (7) is the 2nd Saturday, and so on.  In the particular case of August 2004, Saturday will eventually be numbered 2 to 5.  I don't know if this is repeated with other days of the week, or what might happen if a particular month ends with the 2nd to 6th (!) a few days of the week to manage.

Anachronistic, PDAGuy, can we bring this to the attention of the Palm development team, please?

    Thank you.

After the upgrade to WebOS 1.20, these issues seem to be resolved.  I could go to the entrance of the 'head' and correctly choose the 3rd Saturday in August, every 12 months, and it now appears the correct days in the following years.

  • (Pixie palm) Try to update webOS 1.3.5.1 (unpacking...)

Miss me the CLOCK of my new Pixie of Palm app. Reading that I need to move to the 1.3.5.1 webOS.  I clicked on the 'Upgrade' and says it is downloading... sitting there forever.  I finally gave up and turned the phone off and on again.  Now when I go to 'Upgrade' it says "Unpacking" and never does anything more than that.

I'm doing something wrong?  I am in desperate need of the CLOCK (wake up) app.  Thought it was a mistake on this phone because I had it on my razor phone stupid before changing for this one.

OK, exceeded the update problem (guess you must have a full battery to get download and install it.)

But still no CLOCK app he shows in my list of applications software, but not as an icon on my Launcher.

Also, not that I'm 1.3.5.1, when I go to the app catalog, I get the large yellow triangle that says: "this action was not successful. Try again later. »... I have internet connectivity, so not sure what is the problem.

  • Autooff WiFi / webOS 1.3.5.2

I had Palm Pre Monday comes with WebOS v1.1.2 he's been nagging me to upgrade and so I have to webOS 1.3.5.2 last night and my battery just died at 14:00 after only a few calls.

I keep Wifi on in the company for reduction of the costs of data and it seems that in the new OS, WiFi does him not turn off automatically when I press the off button or the screen times out.

I'm sure that was the case with v1.1.2,, in fact, I remember that I had to wait a few seconds for the WiFi turn on. Now its always on when I turn on the screen.

I tried closing all the apps to see if the new operating system maintains the direct connection when there is a soft but WiFi stills remains on, even with no active apss.

Is there a change in the operating system or a problem with the upgrade? I can't find any new options in the WiFi menu that could explain this.

Open the WiFi approx. click preferences, settings sleep is for wi - fi.

  • missing data after upgrading to 1.3.5.1

I upgraded my Palm Pre webOS 1.3.5.1 and lost ALL my calendar events.  My contacts are no longer happen when I try to create a new text message.  I can not also view contacts or pull them up by typing the name of the contact, when I want to make a call.

Am I missing something?  How to bring back that info?  How can I synchronize my contacts with the text and calling applications?

    It's pretty frustrating...

Looks like something is still wrong with your data, even if she came back.

It takes a lot of potential try this and then do what's a lot to try on a forum. I suggest you to contact technical support to see if they can help to recover the data.

Technical support phone number is 877-426-3777, once the data cable it should also focus on your other post on the contact data do not stay up long enough for you to add the information in.

  • Brand new Palm Pre (Sprint) stuck in WebOS 1.1.0 worm

    Hello world

I've not considered repair.  I would like to use webOS Doctor 1.4.5 top to install webOS 1.4.5 rather than trying to get it to be upgraded.

Download the doctor here on your computer: http://palm.cdnetworks.net/rom/pre/p145r0d08102010/spr1ntp145rod/webosdoctorp100ewwsprint.jar

Run webOS Doctor.  Keep clicking Next until you can go no further, or the point where webOS Doctor asks you to connect to your phone.

We must now put your phone in USB mode.  To do this, turn first turn off your phone.  Now he's walking while holding the Volume Up button.  After a few moments, a black screen with the USB symbol should appear.  Then connect the pre to your computer via a USB cable.

After a few minutes, you should be able to click Next on webOS Doctor.  This will start the installation of webOS.

Keep in mind that you will lose all the application data, it's like reformatting and reinstalling Windows or OSX or Linux on a desktop computer.  However, if you have saved the pictures, mp3s, other data on your pre, these files are kept.  They will not be lost.

  • Timing Exchange webOS 1.3.1

I upgraded to 1.3.1 and now when I put an appointment in the pre it does not come up on top of my Outlook but when I put a new date on my Outlook it appears on the meadow. It worked perfectly before the upgrade. Is there any solution for this or is it possible for me to remove the new version until this problem is resolved? I use this as a working device and it is important that my front and my Outlook is identical. I already did a partial deletion to see if this has addressed the issue, but it made no difference.

Well, well... it seems that Palm has finally crossed with this last update webOS 1.4.0

First thing I did was put my phone network time zone and date in my Exchange calendar on my pre. Then I got on my computer and saw sitting in my Outlook calendar.

    My problems are solved.

    Good job Palm!

  • Media users... Do not upgrade to the latest version of Itunes

I have synced my father about a week ago without any problems.  I have MORE songs that I want, so I went this week to redo my sync.  Before that I did, my iTunes has been upgraded to the 8.2.1.6 version.  Guess what?  This version does not support the Pre!  Go figure!  If it is not one thing, its another!  I hope we get this thing under control soon!  Anyone have any ideas?

If only one suggestion is to go to the USB, I did this.  It does not show the songs that iTunes, everything else is good therein.  Next?

    Dave

What version you have Webos? Update your phone what they fixed that just so that it still works with itunes.

  • OTA update 2.1 on Pre 2 webOS does not.

I have a Pre 2 (webOS v2.0.1) p102ueu and I feel that there is an update to webOS v2.0.1 to 2.1 for this device. When I try to perform system updates, I get a message that my system is up to date, but that it was an error and I should try again. This has happened in the last three days. I tried to restart and it has no effect. Can someone please advise me what I do wrong?

    Hello!

Your device should see the 2.1 update, but as you experience this problem for days, you need to update via the option of webOS doctor.  Go to www.palm.com/ROM to run the doctor on your phone.  It will fix the problem and upgrade to 2.1 at the same time.  Do not forget to backup before you call for is like a partial erasure.

  • Impossible to update to the latest version of webOS POST HERE

So, I saw scattered CIHI and out there of people who say that they cannot upgrade to the latest version (1.0.4 to date) of webOS.  To try to put all the world the question all in the same place, I will start this thread and close all others I see on the subject (and try to direct the random messages on here too).

First of all, everyone should read great post of joek71 on the functioning of the update process.  Thanks, joek71!

Please be sure to include the following information in your message:

    1. You have access to wifi?
    2. Have you or bring your phone in an EVDO coverage area (as evidenced by the Ev icon)?
    3. Exact measurements you follow and all (if applicable) error you see.  Post screenshots (press Orange + SHIFT + P to create a screenshot in your Photos app) is always nice.
    4. If you're NOT on 1.0.4 which your webOS version are you on? (Application of device information indicates that, so far, it should show this: 'VERSION Palm webOS 1.0.4')

    Thank you!

If you still have problems updating to the latest webOS, I worked with one of our engineers and come up with a list of steps that should work.  You will find it displayed and pasted in this forum here:

  • WebOS doctor

If I need to run webos doctor he he'll be back to the form of the plant, then I'll have to update to the current 1.1.0 right? Then after its done I can just connect to my palm profile and then upgrade to the current webos? will I have to reactivate through sprint?

    Hello!

The WebOS doctor reinstall the current version of the webOS then:

    1. He will return EVERYTHING back to the factory

    2. It reinstalls the latest version of webOS in order to reapply updates is not necessary as long as until your recovering from Palm.com/ROM

3 phone remains active so no reactivation is required.

    4. as a full or partial deletion, you need to resign to your Palm profile that brings back your data/apps/some settings.

Due note it will scan the section USB drive too so don't forget that backup if possible.  Going to Palm.com/ROM for webOS doctor will give the latest version of webOS.
