  • How to determine if your print head is still under warranty.

The type of print head you have will determine the type of warranty on it.  Only removable heads have a separate warranty from the printer, and not all printers have a print head.  Some printers print heads are part of the ink cartridge.  These printers are easy to identify because they use the black cartridges and colors, such as the printers of envy and the Officejet 4500 series.

Printers with print heads have a separate for each color cartridge.  The print head can be removed either a lever on the right side of the cart (for printers where the ink lies on the transport, such as the Photosmart C310a), or by leaving the carriage will move to the left side of the printer and raise the tab that contains the print heads in (for printers where the ink is distinct from the transport such as the Officejet Pro 8500 A909a).  Once you know if the print head can be removed, go ahead and remove it.  Once this is done, follow the link below to find out if your print head is still under warranty or not.

  • Upgrade to Windows 8 still possible during the "real" being warned?

My version of windows 7 to watch as not being is not authentic suddenly. I tried to fix it for a while, but honestly I looked for an excuse you move to Windows 8 in all cases. I wanted to just make sure that the kit Pro Windows 8 designed to upgrade an existing Windows system still work while I'm having this problem because I have not been able to fix it.

I called your assistance and the response, without this service, was "Yes, simply an existing installation operating system." Thank you so :)

  • IPhone 6 which took his screen cast, and who is still under warranty

Hello everyone, my 6 16 GB iphone now left until July 31, 2016, guaranteed. Recently, I broke the screen and put a small crease in the housing to fall down the stairs. The screen broke so I put the screen with the id to touch this subject still in the trash which was a huge mistake! I tried to put another screen on the phone, but there seems to be no life at all, and when it is connected to a computer there is no sign of the computer recognize the phone either. Can I pay apple to replace the phone or that they won't do anything because I don't have the screen. Any help will be really thankful because I don't know what to do now that I don't have a phone.

You can try to take it to the store, but don't be surprised if they refuse to help you - the warranty is void if you try to make any repairs yourself. Often they will not even a replacement out of warranty (a new/refurbished phone at a reduced cost), and you will have to pay full price for a new phone.

I saw people here post about getting their phone repaired anyway, but don't expect, it happens.

  • Is my HP Thin Client still under warranty after a fall

In our facility, we have about 50 thin clients running on the production floor. We recently had a fall of 4 Ft. Now, it's not beyond the splash screen. I can't enter the BIOS setup, but when I go out, it still does not start.

    My warranty will cover that?

    Hello BCraft,

Here is a link to the HP warranty information

HP products - additional information in statements of warranty on HP products

"Warranty does not protect against accidental damage, loss, natural disasters or any other event that does not during the manufacture of the product."

Often you can buy guarantee agreements that have clauses that support and can be part of some agreements Care Pack accidental damage.

You can review this package guarantees that you bought with customers and see if accidental damage are covered.

  • HP G62 Notebook PC, 64-bit, may still be under warranty. Test drive, 303 equaled error code?

I dropped my computer. He then again not being not able to boot and invited me him for a boot CD. I went into the Bios and a hard disk and the memory check. Memory was good but SHORT test hard drive says "303".

    What does that mean?

I have, I don't know if my computer is still under warranty. How can I deal with that. Suppose that I don't have the reciet.

You killed the hard drive in the menu dropdown. Even if you had a guarantee it would not cover. What is physical damage, if any?

If it works in the opposite case, you can replace the hard drive. You can get a hard drive for maybe $60 and we can guide you through restoring the software.

  • AMD/Intel Graphics switchable and upgrade to Windows 8

    Hello world

I know that many HP Pavilion DV6T-6100 Quad Edition Entertainment laptop owners might consider the upgrade to the new Windows 8 operating system platform. DON'T DO IT!

I just bought and installed the official version of Windows 8 Pro o my laptop Pavilion DV6T, which came with Windows 7 pre-installed. I had followed the whole windows 8 preview of the incompatibility issues with the graphics driver fiasco switchable HP for some time. I decided to wait to install the official version of the new OS when it was released on October 26, 2012. I bought and applied the upgrade of Windows 7 to Windows 8 last night.

I thought I'd call HP this morning to find out when they have planned out an official HP Switchable Graphics driver update to resolve incompatibility issues that many HP users have experienced after the upgrade to Windows 8.

    • They've said, in no uncertain terms, "they have a driver available for this problem, but switchable graphic users would have to pay $200 for the reader and have their technical support engineers to apply."
    • He also told me, "HP has no plan to release an update to the free rider problem, so anyone who decided to upgrade to Windows 8 will have to pay support of $200 to fix."
    • I got also said, "my warranty does not cover this update, not being hardware related and related software."

I paid over $1,200 USD for my laptop model HP Pavilion DV6T-6100 CTO, less than a year ago. Switchable graphics on this laptop was actually a selling point for me, as well as many other owners DV6T. I find it a very irresponsible business move for HP handle that many of their customers in this way. No other manufacturer of the laptop charges their customers for updates, while their product is still under warranty. I work in it and I'll make sure that the HP brand is avoided by everyone that I know in the future. HP has ceased to be one of the best manufacturers of PC, regarding their support for the customer, to be the ABSOLUTE WORST!

Every computer I've ever owned was a HP, but I will never buy another PC of this society, ever! It is a promise that will be preserved.

Switchable graphics users per HP: HP has a compatible driver Windows 8 update available, but it will cost $200 more than the price you already paid for your computer and its security.

    Hello Asebeba,

My solution to the problem is neith, supported or recommended by HP.

It is well known that HP released several categories of patterns DV6t. It seems that they knew they were going to get rid of the graphical configuration AMD/Intel switchable by the end of November 2011. Which is a not keep from seeling as of soon to become obsolete DV6t models that have been do with the soon outdated AMD/Intel graphic switchable setting possible. However they they built a little more of these models after their passage of OEM to Microsft Windows 8.

This means that it has supported HP DV6t systems with AMD Switchable graphics, which came the same factories that built our systems, but are running Windows 8. These systems have newer versions of the AMD HD drivers that where fate to the DV6t users whose system supplied with Windows 7 pre-installed.  What are these systems including switchable graphics are incompatible with the 'NEW' Windows 8 and windows 8.1 operating system platforms.

I could give you the exact name of the HP driver for your switchable graphics special configuration that would work flawlessly on your system, but wouldn't you get anything good for me to do. Because of Windows 7 HP Framework installed on your system. You still have questions, try installing updates later than those offered by HP.  HP would also remove any meantion that I would do whatever it is that they offer and which did not come with your system.

    SP59850

As far as I know the latest AMD/Intel driver is offered by HP which works with systems built by them with Windows 8 x 64 bit preinstalled.

Merger of Treexy pilot would be required to uninstall all previous versions of display drivers that you have on your system.

You would also need to disable the Windows 8 and 8.1 automatic update of device functionality. (Go to: settings/PC Info / Protection of the system / hardware / device settings)

    Once there,

Select: "no, let me choose what to do."

Select: "never install driver from Windows Update"

Apply also to the: Action Center settings (settings / control panel / Action Center / change Action Center settings)

Deselect "Device Software" (Yo can also deselect 'Windows Update')

Do not worry! Is not disable Windows Update function. It simply avoids messages from receiviing to update your display drivers that work very well. Do these two things also get rid of this triangle of peskyyellow that appears on your display drivers in Device Manager.

Unistall old drivers display and software. Then, install the latest version of Windows 8 of the package AMD/Intel HD Graphics Driver availible for your particular display configuration. I will also not allow HP Support Center to automatically install the device drivers on your system at this time. In addition, most systems that encounter this issue with display drivers and windows 8 are no longer under warranty anyway.

You will have no additional problems running, use or configuration of your HP AMD/Intel graphics switchable on your, shortly after you bought, card HP DV6t system with AMD/Intel switchable graphics.

No Beta Leshcat driver not required to use the only feature you spent all that money for.

  • An illegal copy of Windows XP can be upgraded to Windows 7?

First of all, some context to information.

About six months ago, I bought a Samsung netbook for the brother of my friend who lives in Thailand. The machine came with a genuine copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. In fact, I paid extra for having him on level compared to the Starter edition to Home Premium.

Unfortunately, it is a perfect beginner and despite my insistence that he executed regularly AV scan, the computer has been infected with malicious software and became unusable.

Since he had not made a backup he could restore the OS from, he took the machine to a local repair shop. Instead of tackling the problem, store deleted the installation of Win 7 (without contact with the user) and replaced by what I suspect to be an illegal copy of Windows XP Edition family. I say this because it does not display the Windows logo on startup, but rather a nice picture showing a number of ads.

As the original operating system can no longer be recovered even if the machine is still under warranty, I am looking to upgrade to Windows 7 Starter. I'm not going to waste money on Home Premium this time well that as a lesson to the user to take over maintenance of the machine in the future.

However, given that the current installation is probably an illegal copy of Windows XP, my question is, he will still qualify an upgrade?

Samsung will quite happily sell you a set of reocvery for the original operating system disks - and you should have the means of the provider to be able to upgrade the system again (it's an Express upgrade, probably) - you can call if you are unsure. There should be the key in the paperwork that accompanies the machine (if it includes also a bunch of disk)

You can borrow an external DVD drive? (or buy one - they should be available for less than $30-40).

Samsung may have recovery located on a Flash drive - ask them.

  • Will be installing Windows 8 empty my warranty?

Hello, I just bought a HP Probook 4540 (selected for windows 8), but the dealer installed windows 7 on it and filled with something that I don't use. I was wondering if the installation of windows 8 will void my warranty on their part. The vehicle currently has windows 7 Home Basic and I still use the windows 7 Home Basic at the same time. Is the guarantee of one material or include software installed too? Thank you.

Hello, thanks for the response to my post. Well, I guess it'll be still under warranty. But I'll call them to confirm that. Thank you for the information on who is delivered with Windows 7 and those with windows 8. Nice day.

  • Area 51 ALX - does not start after the BIOS update - still in warranty

I was preparing my Area 51 ALX for Windows 8 (pre-ordered and expect it to be here Friday) and decided to update the BIOS to the A10 A11. Back on and now it just sits here with no output monitor and my keyboard/mouse TactX™ is not illuminated either. Fans seem to be 100% / 70%. I tried to reset the CMOS and nothing. I'm just here? The office is still under warranty until next February, I believe. I am disgusted seriously now because I looked forward to Windows 8, "Painkiller hell &.

"and to get some done coding. What a a day of . Don't know if this can help my case but I have been a customer for a long time from the time of Dell before. Had an old P2 Area 51, bought the m11x at launch and was still in talks with Ross Anthony to make a site of 'history' (although never, he eventually happen). I'm sure that set my m11x Win 8 will not work because it is stuck on super old graphics drivers. Can someone from Dell please help me here? Also, if I'm , is it possible to simply replace the motherboard myself? There are lots of tips on eBay.

At this point, there is a strong chance that the motherboard is brick and needs to be replaced. Fact he complete the update of the BIOS and restart on its own, or force you the reboot?
