Upgrade to windows vista 7

My computer is windows Vista Home Basic edition. I had installed Norton Antivirus on it and due to some problem my computer had to be returned to its factory settings. Now when I am trying to reinstall my computer with the Norton antivirus I get a message saying have compatibility problems and that I need to have a starter kit or pack 1 an update on my computer. Seul31 help with everything I need to do what I can't understand if it's a free download or something that was on my computer that I lost when it has been reset to factory settings.

Hello

Try a direct download of both SPS

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299

Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669

See you soon.
