upgrade to windows7 from Vista
Hi, after 20 hours of reading the messages I still have no answers to "how to upgrade Windows Vista Enterprise to Windows 7 Enterprise"
I did everything... the Adviser, all the tutorials and the guests tell me that I am able to upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise! Ok!
HOW CAN I DO?
It is probably not quite wrong however still boils down to the same problem.
You cannot buy Windows 7 Enterprise as an upgrade, it is only available through the VAR.
In fact, only Upgrade Advisor is outdated even when Windows 7 is no longer available in any form anyway.

Is the free update for Windows7 from Vista still available?
My computer has been down for 2 years. I finally had the time to work again. I remember it being a free update for users of Vista to Windows7. And I heard that they were doing so again because they'll update XP. Where can I get this download?
Sorry - no, the free upgrade offer is over.
You can purchase Windows 7 here (or at a local store):
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/cat/CategoryID.44066700
I heard that if you buy Vista you get a copy of Windows 7 free
The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. Hello:
You should be able to use the Vista drivers for what anyone who you are missing.
If you can connect to the internet, run the Windows Update program in your program menu and let it download and install the latest drivers for what it finds.
For what anyone else missing, use your laptop support Vista drivers and the driver download page.

Webcam not available during upgrade to Win7 from Vista
I have a dv6245us that came with Vista and included a built-in webcam of Ricoh. A few months ago, I've upgraded to Win7 but does not check the operation webcam until today. I use to use Quickplay to turn on the webcam but now Quickplay doesn't have the webcam icon. A check of my devices indicates the webcam and it said its operation and an update, stated that the driver was updated. I'm looking for a way to turn on the webcam.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 21.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.
- Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will lose all personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep problems also create a new profile.

Hello
I upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7 and lost bookmarks, I had in Firefox. Back up my documents files and they are OK. Unfortunately, I don't think to back up my Firefox bookmarks.html file.
However, I did the upgrade of the operating system from the disk and a "windows.old" folder has been created which seems to have a lot of my old files, applications, and others, but I can't find "bookmarks.html" in the firefox folder or in my user folder.
Is there another place in windows.old where bookmarks could be, or a different file name, it may be under?
Please help, there are a few important bookmarks that I lost and which were accumulated over several years.
Thank you!
Firefox has not used the file bookmarks.html for storage of bookmark since the release of Firefox 2. You need a JSON bookmark backup file or the file places.sqlite. See this:
http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profileYour old profile is located here in Windows Vista and Win7:
drive: \Users\Windows login user name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_nameYou may need to display 'files and hidden folders' in Win7 to be able to access the Firefox profile in windows.old files and the new installation of the OS.

I wonder why the limitation of the upgrade to Windows 7, but the ability to upgrade to Ultimate from Vista Home. Is it simply to get people to pay more for the programs as Ultimate contains the same features as the professional, or am I misunderstood features of the upgrade to Ultimate?
Because Windows 7 Professional and Windows Vista Home Basic do not share the same basic architecture with respect to features.
Windows Vista Home Basic doesn't have many main basic Windows 7 Home Edition network such as Domain Join, backup features, other features such as group policy and network encryption.
If you want to upgrade to Windows 7 while preserving your personal files, settings and installed applications, you will need to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

Upgrade from Vista to Windows7.
Can I upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista even if the Vista is corrupted and does not start? Vista was preinstalled and I never created a rescue disk. I have the product key and through BACK I can see that the windows files are still on the hard drive. I heard that you can not pass actually no, I just want to know if the version of Windows 7 upgrade will recognize that I don't have a genuine version of Windows Vista.
Hello
Difficulty your 1 Vista as well, not sure if your computer is running Windows 7.
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Once you have Vista running:
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Hello
Sounds more like you did a clean install on a new folder without formatting. If this is the case, you can retrieve data from the windows.old folder, but programs like MSWorks will need to be reinstalled from their original installation media. An update includes necessary registry entries and transfer program files, a fresh install in a new folder does not work.
