Upgrade Vista to 7 - single-use copy

If I use a 'unique' Windows Vista 7 computer upgrade product on a computer that is running Windows Vista, and then later I install Windows 8 on this computer, I can then legally use the same product upgrade and the key on another computer that is also running Windows Vista?

If I use a 'unique' Windows Vista 7 computer upgrade product on a computer that is running Windows Vista, and then later I install Windows 8 on this computer, I can then legally use the same product upgrade and the key on another computer that is also running Windows Vista?

If the original license that came with the computer was Vista, which has been upgraded to Windows 7 Windows 8, then rest Vista Basic qualification license, because it was the original license. This would give Windows 7 transfer of rights. (If that is what you mean).

This means, you can switch to another computer running Windows Vista, but he will need to phone activation:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

A preliminary version is not a permanent solution and to this date can not activate or update properly.  You have two choices:

    (1) get you a Windows 7 upgrade version.  (2) Windows 7 Trial (see the last part of my post).

With a choice, it is always a good idea to create a backup Image of your hard drive before moving from Vista to Windows 7.

Can I use the Vista license that I have just upgraded to windows 7 Upgrade a computer is currently using XP?

Lol when you upgrade you send upwards with a license, not two. The license of Vista is subsumed in Windows 7 one and can no longer be used. This is the reason for which an upgrade is cheaper than licensed full.

    Hello

You don't say where you got the Windows 7 Upgrade from.

If she was part of the free Windows 7 Upgrade from Vista, which ran for 6 months before Windows 7 release and just after, no, you can't use it on another machine.

If you have purchased the commercial windows 7 upgrade yourself, Yes, you can use it on another machine as long as it is not installed elsewhere.

It may require an Activation of the phone, and you must not follow the guests of the car, but hold a real Denis to explain to.

  • I am looking to buy a new PC soon, what I have to buy a new copy of vista, or can I use my code on my new PC?

    Licensing

I have a copy of windows vista that I installed on my laptop, I am looking to buy a new PC soon, what I have to buy a new copy of vista, or can I use my code on my new PC? I do not plan to use my laptop again once I get this PC is it possible to transfer the license via?

    No problem.

First of all, backup all your data of the laptop if you have not already.

When you have done this, the best way to do this is to delete the partition with Vista on it. See the website below for more information:

    http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/delete_a_partition_using_the_vista_dvd.htm

Once you have finished deleting your partition, the laptop will have nothing about it, so you can choose to reinstall an earlier version of Windows or simply put away to deal with later. You can now legally install the copy of Windows Vista on your new machine.

  • Upgrade Vista to Windows 7, files using the second internal hard drive and Windows Easy Transfer.

I have a desktop pc with 2 internal hard drives.  A hard drive has the BONE and the second hard disk is a separate partition.  (I do not combine hard drives using RAID.)  If I upgrade Vista to Windows 7, the upgrade will be to reformat hard disks or just a hard drive with the operating system?  Should I remove the second hard disk of the computer just to be sure?  The second hard drive must be reformatted for use with Windows 7?

    Thank you.

You must install the upgrade in the Vista operating system.

  • On a Windows Vista COA can be used by someone else on another computer?

I would like to buy a used copy of Windows Vista to put in my Gateway computer. Seller does not know if the certificate of authenticity will be allowed by Microsoft, but said there is an 800 number that will give me a new COA key. Is this true? Help! I have only 3 hours to decide to buy it. Thank you

You can move the windows on a new computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  • Upgrade Vista 32-bit. Bought a third party software windows 7 Home premium 32-bit upgrade disc

    Original title: Upgrade Vista 32-bit

Buy a disc to update my pc using windows vista 32-bit. The disc has 4 netfx files. installation package I tried and get message asking me to install a setup of .NET Framework 1.1. Only having the disc I bought to upgrade. Help please.

Exactly where did you buy this drive?

The installer of Windows 7 should not be prompted to install the .NET Framework.

Try to download the installation media of Windows 7 since Microsoft Software download page or follow any other instructions to get the media to install Windows 7 32-bit:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?
