  Your PC come is factory installed with Windows 8 or 8.1?

  If so, you must change both settings in the BIOS.

  You have to enable the legacy mode and disable the secure startup before you install your video card no HP.

  I bought a kit of option (Nr G3G89AT) directly from HP by phone. I asked the seller HP if the package included support low-profile required for installation of this card in my small Z230 form factor. I mentioned that I thought HP might decided to not include this support as a cost reduction measure. After consultation with someone on the side of HP technology, my sales contact told me that the half-height support has been included in the kit. Unfortunately, when the kit arrived, he did not understand the necessary low-profile support, although the instructions for the kit explain how to remove the flange full height and replace it with the mid-height. I learn that HP doesn't have a part number for this support, it is not possible to order one of HP.

  The missing support wouldn't be a problem if the positioning of the screw half height brackets holes has been standardized. I learned from a search on eBay that the separation between the mounting holes on the maps of more than half-size is 54 mm, but the HP Z Turbo card has a separation of 51 mm between the holes. Therefore, I can't use a generic support for this card from HP.

  When I bought this kit option at HP, I had already purchased the same kit of Alinc Technologies in Austin, Texas. Alinc kit arrived without a low-profile support, but, because the wrong Bill was included in the delivery and the envelope holding the card opened, I assumed half-height support had been lost. To find out how to get support low-profile required for map of Alinc and whether this map was under warranty, I opened the number of cases of HP support: 4752621264. It is through this support effort that I ended up talking to a person of HP sales. I bought the second card Z Turbo Drive with the idea that I would use the first map as a spare. The SFF Z230 workstation only accepts one of these cards, I can use a single half-height for both cards support.

  If someone has the necessary low-profile support, I would be interested in buying it. Of course, I can change a generic low-profile with a hacksaw and epoxy support, but it's a very ugly solution.

  In order to get support low-profile necessary to use the Z Turbo 512 GB drive card in a workstation Z230 SFF, order must be for HP Nr G3G89AA (part No. 759771-001) instead of HP Nr G3G89AT.  The card supplied under the two numbers of HP product is Samsung P/N: MZHPU512HCGL - 000: 1, which is equipped with a flange full-height.

  The tab "what's in the box" for this web page does not mention the inclusion of low-profile support, so I recommend that this product be ordered by phone and that the part number and product number is appropriate.  The representative business of HP needs to understand that the card is for a station of small form factor, then it will ensure that the low-profile support will be in the area.

  I got a workstation Z230 last week. It came with 2 DVDs that have W/8 and drivers on it (DVD 748764-A21 and 752204-B24). Using those I installed W/8.1 64 - bits and drivers. It does not install a driver for the KU-1156 keyboard that comes with the desktop (keyboard we International with a few special function keys). While the default W/8 Driver is installed. I checked the DVDs and there is nothing on them for any keyboard. The driver file SP44447.exe located on the HP Web site for this keyboard stops and a message saying that it only works on Windows 7.

  Some fake website (DriverArnea.blogspot) claims to have the driver, but the download link points to a .exe that contains anything other than the pilot.

  Any body can help?

  Problem solved: FN keys for this keyboard are supported by the standard Microsoft Driver. Some services did not work; Since my company tech guy set it to "automatic".

• 7.1.5 workstation install not on kernel of linux 2.6.41 host

  I started vmware today, for the first time in a week or two and got the option upgrade workstation 7.1.4 to 7.1.5 and did it.   He wanted to recompile, which I did, but didn't work.   I guess that's not unexpected, because never seems not compile under linux, so I tried the patch file and ran that

  Hi, I got this works, but I had to patch more than the vmnet.tar in the source directory.

  I had to patch all the tar files, so I put them here as an attachment.

  So what I've done,

  1 backup /usr/lib/vwmare/modules/source/*.tar

  2. replace the tar files in/usr/lib/vmware/modules/source by unzip the attached file in this directory.

  3 then start console or the menu vmware and vmware files compiled as expected.

  4 disconnect / connect and start vmware

  Short answer: that 4 GB unbuffered module is only supported with 1 DIMM per channel, i.e. 3 DIMMs per CPU (in the black connectors).  This means that each CPU has 3 x 4 GB = 12 GB, or 24 GB for 6 2 processors with 3 DIMMs per CPU.

  Long why answer: each processor has 6 DIMM slots, but there are 3 channels of memory.  A black and white connector are matched on each channel.  Many signals are connected on both of these connectors.  Now, memory signal integrity decreases when several charges which is connected between them.  The module ECC you linked use coins 2 GB (from what I can see), so there are 16 memory chips, arranged in 2 rows (9 to the edge) and 9 on the back.  This means that this DIMM 2 loads (e.g., lines) on the channel memory.  If an identical DIMM is put into the same channel, there are now 4 charges on many signals, what is too much for the integrity of the signal is good.  That is why only 1 unbuffered DIMM per channel is permitted.

  The way around this is to put a 'buffer' or 'save' on the DIMM.  Memory lines (called ranks) are behind this registry, the memory controller sees the 1 load the registry has the channel memory.  So, put in 2 DIMM in the two memory slots on one channel will only 2 electric charges (the same as your 1 DIMM Unbuffered), although there are 4 ranks of total memory.  Some DIMMs high capacity have 4 rows of each, but they use registers, so it has only 1 charge on the channel memory.  It's why registered memory is necessary for high memory capacity.  It is a restriction of integrity of electrical signal.

  Is the DIMM you showed also warns against mixing DIMM Unbuffered and registered in the same system.  Yes, the system does not start with the joint memory.

  Had the same problem.  Error 1922.

  In my case, McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention was causing this issue.  Disabled and was able to uninstall VM Ware.

  My workstation Xp x 64 host OS crashed beginning of a upgrade Workstation 7 and to a difficult start.  After the reboot, I started the installer again and had a charger failure.   I tried to uninstall 6.5 and received the error "another program is already using install" message.  The same error message displayed when trying to uinibstall 6.5.  I looked the vm logs and did not find a part-time newspaper since the accident.  Workstation 6.5 works very well after all this, but I would move to 7 Workstation.  Any ideas on how to differentiate the current install flag and install V7?

• What software to a workstation HP Z230 would you recommend?

  I just bought a new Hewlett Packard Z230 Workstation with the intent to catch up on a big backlog (of the hundreds of hours) of family videos, I want to clean up and change.  This computer is configured as follows:

  Intel I7 4770 Quad Core 3.4 GHz (showing 8 processors in control panel/system/processor) current execution

  16 GB of ram

  C: drive of 256 GB SSD

  3 to 7 200 RPM drive D:

  video card nVidia Quadro K2000 with 2 GB of video ram

  Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

  When I bought this, I had planned on using Cyberlink PowerDirector because they announced that it works well with the features of this computer.  I downloaded a trial version of Power Director, and it satisfied my functional needs.  But he locked up three times in an hour.  When I wrote Cyberlink, they have asked for information like the DxDiag.txt file that describes my computer and blocks Windows event logs.  Their response was BAFFLING, because they said that they design their software to "level of consumer platforms", and since they test their software on "workstations", they may not recommend my use on the Z230.

  That said, I'm now looking for other software.  I used Pinnacle a lot in the past, but it has changed so much since the version I used, I'm not married to any brand at this stage.  In addition to the usual editing capability, I want to check that the software that I buy has specific abilities, I need:

  -Ability to video clips of cultures and expand others cropped 16:9 scene (because I have a few incroachment in video excerpts from the hood of the lens of a camera).

  -Ability to normalize audio levels of the different clips (some too loud or too quiet) before producing the video.

  -You want, don't not required: ability to burn DVDs or DVD on a computer other than the one where I'm editing.

  More, if not all, editing software has these capabilities now (PowerDirector and Pinnacle do), so this shouldn't be a problem, but I just want to check.

  Any help or advice would be appreciated.

  Sounds like a ton of frustration!

  My comments:

  • You say you have hundreds hours of videos of family; you need a professional level solution, or you will simply be driven crazy!
  • I suggest to buy Premiere Pro CS6 (expensive but permanent license) or the first Pro CC rental (monthly subscription model). These two fully use your hardware (processor, memory, GPU and whole disks) for the best possible, editing experience - I highly recommend to choose one of the two options and do not look back. With many hours of video, you want to have a platform which publishes fine without having to make each scenario over and over again just for reading and gently rub.

    [sidebar: I do not work for Adobe, I don't do that professionally and I made photo and video editing as a consumer for more than 30 years well.] Announcement over these years, I had the chance to try a lot of different hardware and software solutions (well Yes, Panasonic / Sony bridge-to-bridge linear edition on hardware Hi8, VHS, SVHS, then Pinnacle and assisted Matrox solutions PC (signs $ 1000 added to the PC to handle DV and SD non-linear editing formats) [and for the last decade, using Pinnacle Avid Liquid / / first / only Vegas software solutions])

  • Your system is pretty solid, except for the video card (empty the Quadro and get a 2 GB card NVidia GTX 770). Add a matching 3 TB HD and make a record of 2 x RAID 0 set would give you much more speed and ability too in the field of training and is an upgrade I would propose as well. You don't have a lot of video indeed!

  You absolutely must talk about what your media here to get the best advice.  Are you using editing AVCHD, DV, Hi8, etc. ? It is very important to determine the level of the CPU, GPU and drive speed that best fits your need. Not all video is similar and consumer HD (AVCHD) is radically more taxing on a PC than mini-DV, for example. Since you say that you have hundreds of hours of video, I guess you aren't in 4 k yet!

• After the Server 5.1.5 upgrade network user cannot connect by most workstations

  Hi all

  Intro

  I upgraded one of my client of 10.6.8 Xserve server at El Capitan / app 5.1.5 server.

  The server is configured with the network homefolders and mobile homefolders. We also use PCS. The 10.6.8 configuration has worked perfectly and still doesn't work. But now it is time to move on.

  The upgrade process from was relatively smooth. I had to configure the interface network again, then check DNS (front / back) and I also had to re - install the SharePoint, including network sharepoint (via AFP) houses.

  Problem:

  Then, I started to test the connection as users of the network on client computers. I found that it was not possible to connect from most client computers.

  After entering the login credentials was refused immediately. As is the case when entering the incorrect credentials.

  On client computers, nothing has changed.

  Client computers running Yosemite 10.10.5 and some are running 10.6.8

  As soon as I reboot the Xserve 10.6.8 original that's all is back to normal.

  What does not work:

  Those who connect has worked well:

  • Mobile sync (on Unassigned Computers)

  • Log is as user network at home (on Unassigned Computers)

  • PCS worked fine. New settings have been made correctly. On all computers.

  • Automatically install some actions has worked well on all computers. It is a local administrator on the client computers. When connecting to the account, the network shares are mounted using PCS.

  • Resolution of the DNS of all client computers

  • DHCP works OK

  • Client computers running 10.6.8 seem to be not affected.

  At one point one of the workstations involved that did not work, started working.

  What I tried and not solve the problem:

  • Renew DHCP client

  • Removed liaison OD and put in place again

  • Trashed records managed preferences (these have been re-created correctly)

  Ideas on possible causes:

  The most logical causes of this behavior might be:

  (1) client computer cannot find the master OD.

  (2) the powers of negotiation fails.

  Since the Division of the OPPOSITION binding work, works PCS etc., the client computer is the master of the OD.

  The latter seems the cause more lickely. Ticketviewer does not show tickets. Ticketviewer by using the credentials of a user of OD manually requesting a TGT works very well.

  All advice is appreciated.

  Hi Nico,

  Maybe the problem is related to the AFP. Have you tried disabling AFP in Systempreferences and delete all shares. After this restart AFP and try to add shares again. Have a look at the access privileges. It is urgent to remove and re-add the userfolders on the server share.

• Workstation HP Z230: how to disable NVIDIA NVS 315 to use integrated DP and DVI ports

  My HP Z230 workstation was equipped with Windows 7 and an NVIDIA NVS 315 video card.  This card works satisfactorily; However, I recently acquired a monitor Asus PB287Q Ultra high definition (4K), capable of a resolution of 3840 X 2160 pixels.  The NVIDIA card DVI by default generates a graph of the 1920 x 1200 resolution. Therefore, I can't take full advantage of the ability of 4K of my new monitor.

  I tried to uninstall the NVIDIA card to force the PC to recognize the video hardware on the motherboard, but none of the monitors connected to the RFP or DVI ports displays video information.  In other words, my PC recognizes that the NVIDIA card (when connected) and nothing else.

  What should I do?  I'm a LabVIEW programmer and a 4K display is a tool powerful graphics-oriented environments.  Thank you for your help.

  Now I have a total of 5 outputs (2 DP and 3 DVI) video! I don't have to remove the NVIDIA cards and I full resolution 4K on the outputs video of DP!  Can not be more happy with my output video.  Now the problem is to convince my supervisor that five monitors high resolution are better than one (not-a-chance).  :-)  Once again, thank you.

  Here's the QuickSpecs for the computer.  In Page 3, you will find processors compatible with the motherboard.  It seems that the processor you want to buy is not on the list.
