I installed a Windows 2003 Server SP2 on a separate computer & 4.1.1 installed Build 24 on it. Insllation became a success, but while that restore the backup file of the previous version. I got an error "is not compatible for this version.

It is also to mention that my old version is in a failover on both machines fastion.

Can someone help me with this?

Waiting for a quick response.

You need to upgrade your 3.3. (2) W2K Server, make a backup of 4.1.1 (24) of the W2K and restore it in the W2K3 server.

  • The upgrade to Cisco ACS

    Hello.

I would like to upgrade our current ACS NT Terminalserver edition server to a Win2000 server. Since this upgrade requires a fresh installation (since a direct upgrade from NT 4 TS to w2k is not the best thing to do). My question is, do I have to do to ensure that I can keep my user database active? Is replication the answer? And replication will make a copy of all the different users/groups/routers etc etc. In other words, I'll be able to do this upgrade without too much trouble?

I speak here of a replication of the database, do not configure replication between servers ACS.

  • Upgrade CSM and ACS

    1. cisco ACS /Solution Engine, according to me, the dedicated device, unknown version)

    2 cisco Security Manager 3.1

Are updates possible, or buy the latest version of the product is the only way out?

What do we need for the upgrade?

Are there specific codes or new need to buy new products?

In case of purchase of new products, which are the configurations?

    Your response will be appreciated.

The GBA unit has been released with at least three different major versions - 3.x, 4.x and 5.x. If you have ACS 4.2 on a device of 1120, you can proceed to the last (5.3) on the same hardware. Anything else will be require a new device (or use a VM solution).

Please see guide to orders and the migration guide for this information.

For the CSM, to upgrade you would need to go to 3.3. First, then to the current version of CSM (4.2). The necessary licenses are described in this product bulletin.

It would probably be easier and more own just build a new facility in both cases. Architecture products both db schema have changed significantly. The SKU upgrade probably will save in licensing fees, even though the two products have undergone changes in how they are allowed.

Note that CSM will come out with a new version 4.3 more later this spring.

  • The upgrade to Cisco ACS SE and Remote Agent

    Hello

Currently we are upgrading the PDC to Windows Server 2008, Standard Edition R2.

I am little confused with information available for upgrade scenarios. Appearing on the current working versions.

    Cisco ACS SE - version 4.1 Build 23 5 Patch 1

Cisco ACS Remote Agent version 4.2 (0.124)

The new operating system will work on 64-bit, I think that the current ACE SE and the remote agent can / must be upgraded.

My existing versions, give the possible scenarios of upgrade available for me. After that upgraded SE and Remote Agent should work for the 64 bit OS.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is not possible to upgrade the ACS ACS 5.2 existing to level 4.1. They are two different boxes run on a different platform.

Unfortunately ACS 4.x does not support windows 2008 r2.

5.2 ACS is the only option left, and you will need to buy a new box of seprate with the new licnese for this.

  • Upgrade to Cisco acs 1120 to 4.2.1.15 help

    Hi all

I downgrade of cisco device 1120 DCC acs 4.2.0.124 5.0, I need to upgrade to acs 4.2.1.15. Is device 1120 cisco acs supports 4.2.1.15, how do I upgrade 4.2.0.124 4.2.1.15.

There are any server distribution for the upgrade. Please suggest on this, thank you

    Yes, you can upgrade it to 4.2.1.15 and you can download the version from the link below listed;

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/Squish/d4e4A

Here are the files you need to download:

    ACSse-Upgrade-Pkg-acs-v4.2.1.15-K9.zip

    ACSse-Upgrade-Pkg-appl-mng-v4.2.1.15-K9.zip

: Note apply the upgrade of management first and then software update. ..

Distribution server is a machine where you can download the patch on the Cisco Secure ACS Appliance, so if you download the version on your laptop and download then only one distributor (nothing special)

    Upgrade an application of 4.2.1.15

  • FMW: Links Portal Upgrade Advisor to the page build Middleware of Oracle 11 g Architecture

Perhaps a link in the Advisor to each document for installation/upgrade is needed.   Would be very useful.  And, if the document refernence is not specific to the step, but it is more general in nature, then a shor comment indicating to view only the relevant sections of the document.   That, to me, would be the most valuable contribution.  Please ask for clarification if necessary.   The page I am referring here would be 'Building the Middleware of Oracle 11g Architecture basis'. Each of the steps listed there is extremely useful.   Also, small change to it would be great for it is according to put it as follows in the next video that Dan is putting together to address upgrade scenario.

And as mentioned in a previous debate. Would be really nice if we know exactly what is supposed to be running for each of these steps.  Not so much after we're done, but how to start.  Also, what environment should be set to.

Example: Ensure that portal db, earphone, IDM and former/current levels are rising and runing and environment is set for new construction/PFRD area (where are the new binaries) for the portal 11g Upgrade Wizard.

Example: Ensure that db, listener, old idm level runs and defined environment to the new layer IDM of IDM Upgrade Wizard.

NOTE: These are examples only and may be wrong, but (and please let me know if so)... There you have something to run with.

FYI... So I made changes at the stage 'The base Middleware of Oracle 11g Architecture site'... so we have documentation References inline + some additional details added. When you find the time, take a look and let me know if the changes are for the clearest reading / understanding of the build process.

  • How to upgrade VMwareplayer 3.1.1 build 282343

    Hello

I installed VMwareplayer 3.1.1 build 282343 in win - xp and installed three of operating systems based on Linux guest OSes.

Now, whenever I try to run VMwareplayer, it shows that Vmware Player 3.1.4 Build 38553 "is available for download.

I have a copy of VMwareplayer 3.1.4 (installation file) with me that I downloaded earlier somewhere else.

Please tell me how to upgrade my VMwareplayer, if I update what will happen to my already installed guest OSes?

As mentioned, make sure all VMs are (non-suspended) power off before running the installation. The only thing that you can do this after the installation/upgrade to update is to update the VMware tools with virtual machines.

  • Upgrading ESX 3.5.0 build 110268 ESXi 5.1 or newer

I need to upgrade our current VMware ESX 3.5 cluster for the ESXi 5.1. To summarize the migration, we will use all of the new materials for vsphere 5.1 5.1 ESXi and new iSCSI SAN.

Existing/current cluster environment (about 44 vms) is as follows:-vcenter (version 2.5) (1) and (3) dell servers to ESX 3.5 for a total of 4 servers, storage Fibre Channel EMC CX 300.  We went ahead and bought 4 new Dell servers and storage iSCSI, SAN Compellent Dell to replace the current environment.  The only difference is that the NEW strorage for cluster 5.1 will not fibre channel, but will rather iSCSI.

I read a few post regarding similar improvements which I have summarized, but I'm a little unsure of how to proceed in particular relative to the storage side, (cluster running FC and iSCSI for new cluster).

    1. install Vcenter 5 on of the new material/vcenter Server

    (A) disconnect all ESX 3.5 knots of vcenter 2.5 and plug the new Vsphere 5 and set up the cluster

    (B) connect all new ESXi 5.1 nodes to the new vsphere 5 for the new Vsphere 5 cluster will contain all of the new and the old 3.5/ESXi 5.1 ESX servers

-This is where I am confused.  My plan is to have the new cluster 5.1 vsphere manage guests to vmotion ESX 3.5 and ESXi 5.1, the old 3.5 ESX virtual machine in the new 5.1 ESXi.  Can I add new nodes 5.1 ESXi or ESX 3.5 to the new cluster 5.1 first, or that matter which node I add first?  Also, the new 5.1 ESXi hosts should have access to FC storage that the old ESX 3.5 has access to?  In other words, the new and old ESX/ESXi hosts would need to have visibility to the FC SAN for vmotion, right?  I do not know if I can add the ESX 3.5 and ESXi 5.1 to the new cluster if not all guests have access to the old CF storage?

    2. through ESXi 5 knots ESX 3.5 virtual machines using vmotion

    3. plan downtime for virtual machines and upgrade virtual hardware (use of snapshot before you upgrade upgrade goes bad snack)

4 use storage vmotion to move vm data warehouses to the new iSCSI SAN

Introduce the new iSCSI LUNS to the new cluster and make a storage vmotion to move storage vm of FC SAN to the iSCSI SAN.

Thank you in advance, all the tips

  • upgrading ESX 4.0.0 build 261974

    Guy

I have been informed that ESX 4.1 is available and we are counting on the upgrade.

I'm not strong on Linux commans if someone could point me in the direction of a step by step on how to do?

also we made changes to our service console, so I would do it in a way not to undo these changes.

    Thank you

OK, so take a look at this guide to upgrade:

    http://www.VMware.com/PDF/vSphere4/R41/vsp_41_upgrade_guide.PDF

Page 66 describes the process of upgrading to an ESX host, using the command line option 'vihostupdate '.

You can also use the command "esxupdate" described on page 67 + 68.

Yes, I have seen this also.

  • Upgrade path ESXi 3.5 build 110271 to ESXi 4.0 U1 - B208167

    Hi all

Well, I searched and tried to find a solution of clear-cutting and the steps needed to take the plunge on the upgrade directly.

So far, is what I understand: I have to go to 3.5 b110271 3.5 U4 before I can move to 4.0 b 208167? Is this good?

Here in bleach them my problem: we have ESXi 3.5 on a single server, Dell PE 1950 III 32 GB RAM 750HD. I changed VM on our SAN. I did not Vcenter and Vsphere, this is a stand-alone server which we access through VMware Infrastructure Client. I basically from 8 hours to do all of this and I'm not an expert at VMware.

NOTE: I searched on the Update Manager and it seems that it is not in the version I have since I was running VMware Infrastructure client. Or I'm blind and just can't find it. I found esxupdate in the CLI (which I'm most familiar with), but I don't think it will update to the latest version?

So far, here are the steps that I think that I ought to do the actual upgrade. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    1. download the installable version of 3.5 U4 and begin the upgrade.

    2. check that all virtual machines still work and did not corrupt.

    3. download and start the upgrade to 4.0 b 208167

    4. check again that all the virtual machines are running

Pretty simple sounds, but I am worried about the virtual machine getting lost or corrupt. Do their entire face take about 12 hours and requires a failure.

All help and comments would be great!

    Thank you

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.4/migration/guide/Migration_overview_oper.html#wp1017943

Machine migration for the ACS 4.x will be a windows server, when you run the Migration utility.

NOTE: The Migrator does not support remote desktop connection. You must run the Migration utility on the migration machine or use VNC to connect the machine to the migration.
