  • Fix for 580 1333 or 1067 MHz memory speed?

I plan on adding memory to my six year old, Inspiron 580 for a few years of life out of it.

When I enter my service tag and run the parts finder, Dell suggest adding DDR3 SDRAM - DIMM 240 pin, 1333 MHz (PC3-10600).  However, when I ran the Dell system detects, it says my memory is DDR3-SDRAM (1067 MHz)?

In addition, said Dell web site my my service tag-based maximum configuration is 8 GB but the documentation with my 580 says 16 GB.  Because I am running Win 7 64 bit, I guess that 16 is correct as it is in agreement with Microsoft on Win7 64 bit OS.

In a related question, can I add a 4 GB DIMMS with the other three 2 GB DIMMs (10 GB in total) or do I need to use a 4 x 2 + 2 x 2 configuration (12 GB total).

    Thank you

The specs say that you can use either 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz RAM.

Crucial recommend actually 1600 MHz RAM for this model. And the good thing is that they guarantee it works or they take it back.

Don't forget that if you mix RAM with different speeds, all of it will run at the slowerspeed. Thus 1333 and 1600 MHz RAM can operate at 1066 if you leave the old 1066 RAM installed

What about the max RAM, card of the Dell for the 580 say:

Accessible DDR3 DIMM Sockets internal memory four connector

Capacity of 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB memory module

Type of memory DDR3 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz DIMM; memory non - ECC only

Support for configurations of memory: 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB

Win 7 64 bit can handle 16 GB of RAM, that does not mean that your hardware is supported by that much. The amount of RAM supported depends on the BIOS and the Intel chipset on the motherboard.

There is a demand in this thread that someone installed successfully 16 GB in the 580, but there is no way to verify that.

  • Can I put my 24 inch Dual Core IMac (early 2009) 4 GB ddr3 1067 Mhz RAM to 16 GB ddr3 1600 Mhz (it says maximum of 8 GB for this model)?

Can I upgrade my 24 inch Dual Core IMac (early 2009) 4 GB ddr3 1067 Mhz RAM 16 GB ddr3 1600 Mhz? I read that it only can be upgraded to a maximum of 8 GB but I'm not sure whether that was when they were sold or if the maximum capacity of the computer can take.

    Thank you for your help,

    Jacques Bizot

You can upgrade the RAM, but 16 GB ddr3 1600 Mhz is NOT designed for your iMac. Please use the RAM specifications correct, iMacs are extremely sensitive to the RAM and require the correct specifications and high quality RAM. Advanced users on these forums tend to recommend Crucial (buy directly from them) or if you are in the USA, RAM from OWC (www.macsales.com).

Do not buy RAM in your store, the local computer or cheap RAM at best, it's probably a waste of time and at worst it will simply not work.

    Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your computer:

    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c04319064

It uses 2.58 GHz Intel Pentium N3530 with Intel HD graphics card which is a trail Bay processor therfore all you have a mchine chich 1 location: DDR3 1333 MHz Dual Channel Support (DDR3L-1600 demoted to the)(Bay Trail processors) DDR3-1333

You can use 1600 MHz RAM, but it will be automatically upgraded to 1333 MHz.

    Kind regards.

Kingston HyperX Plug n Play 8 GB Kit 2133 MHz DDR3 PC3-1700 Non - ECC CL12 laptop SODIMM laptop memory KHX21S12P1K2/8

Supported RAM speed (memory Intel Xtreme or XMP profile) for the T430 is 2133 MHz, for the T420s 1866 MHz is the Max (XMP).

Although the Ivy Bridge memory controller is able to manage memory running up to 2800 MHz, it wil probably never run that high on a Thinkpad, I am not aware of all the profiles, at this speed which are supported.

The Core I5 and Core I7 processors manage Intel XMP profiles.

Linux operating system isn't a BONE btw, is a generic name for all versions of Linux.

  • Satellite M70: Memory 533 MHz with 667 Mhz compatibality?

    Hello
I bought the new Satellite M70 (PSM70) 1.7 Ghz (400FSB) with the construction of memory DDR2 PC2 512 MB 533 MHz, if I DDR2 1 G 667 Mhz added to it? the Mhz will be a problem? and why the standard memory 533 Mhz and 400 Mhz processor speed?

    Kind regards

    Hello

In my view, you must use the Toshiba recommended of the memory modules.
AFAIK you can use DDR2 modules like these:

    DDR2 -400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

To my knowledge, the device supports:
    Intel Celeron M up to 1.7 GHZ 0.09u CPU, 1 M L2, at 400 MHz FSB
    Intel Pentium M CPU up to 2.26 GHZ 0.09u, 2 M L2, 533 MHz FSB

Therefore, it is possible to use 400 and 533 MHz memory speed.
You can also use the modules of Kingston. The performance is optimal.

  • Upgrade memory 667 Mhz for Satellite U300

    Hello

I have a new Satellite u300-11v and I was hoping to upgrade the memory standard modules of current 2 x 1 GB 2 x 2 GB ddr800 for a max speed of memory. However, after looking at intels site for specifications of the chipset for my machine (its got an intel mobile GM965 chipset) it seems that it will only support up to 667 mhz RAM modules.

Reading a little further, I think that if I have a memory at 667 mhz bus it can only be reached through the module 1 x 2 GB at 667 mhz. Currently I put 2 x 2 GB 667 modules in the machine, the default memory bus at 533 mhz.
I watched chipset specs of your laptop (945GM) while I was on the site intels and your in the same boat as me.

Heres so the dilemma: you have just 1 x 2 GB 667 MHz memory to get this speed little extra memory or go for 2 x 2 GB to the slowest to 533 mhz to accommodate all these massive windows page file.

For me, have family Vista premium running on a machine that can bring together only a bus 533 mhz memory with 4 GB of ram is not acceptable while I will now go back to XP pro which is not so heavy on resources.

Did you really notice the difference between the memory 533 MHz bus and memory 667 MHz modules?

Of course, there is a small difference in performance, but you will never get a performance gain by using the modules of 667 MHz instead of 553 Mhz modules.

Safari maxes in a version of Mac OS x.  New version of Mac OS x would be needed for the new version of Safari.

Firefox is not limited within an OSX and probably has a version that works.  Chrome may as well but is a Devourer of resources.  Opera is a third option.
