USB-6008 and XP64bits?

Hi all

I just received a unit NI USB-6008.

From the data collected on the site, I understand that the there is no support for Windows XP 64-bit operation.

Is this fair?

Is it possible to do?

Any help is welcome.

I thankt you very much

Best regards

Hello

The DAQmx driver is not compatible with Windows XP 64. You can find more information here:

  • USB-6008, USB-6501 and Embarcadero C++

    Hello NEITHER and NOR users,.

I spent a considerable amount of money several years ago on a number of devices USB-6008 and USB-6501 for a class that I teach on interfacing the simulations with realworld sensors and actuators.  Write us code using Embarcadero C ++ Builder and we wrote the code to interface with the jury of EZIO AD / DA via RS - 232.  The EZIO is much too slow and limited.  Given advertising NOR, we bought these boards, but after several attempts to get some information OR on the way to talk to these devices directly via C++, we have yet no valid response.  No, I don't want to LabView or any additional expenses.  I just want to talk to them directly.

OR: are you ready to help with this, or not?  If this is not the case, although wanting to refund these purchases.  Announce as being accessible from C++, but you are not willing to provide any help of substance to this day...

Yes, I am self-taught, write code, and old-school enough to feel that I have a right to know how to talk to all the devices I buy.  I confess my ignorance, but I'm sick and tired of secret corporate and misleading advertising.

Can someone please provide me with enough example of code to start.  That's what we wrote for the EZIO:

    http://www.Duke.edu/Web/ISIS/Gessler/Borland/RealWorld-Ezio.htm

We would like to start writing similar code for these materials of NEITHER.  If possible, we can buy more.  If this is not the case, these cards are useless.

    Kind regards

    Nick,

When you have installed the DAQmx drivers to communicate with the 6008 and 6501, I assume you also installed programming examples? It is here that they are on my XP machine: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C.  I don't think that Embarcadero C++ Builder is one of the languages supported, so you'll need to twist your compiler, but it should give you a good start.

  • Digital and analog inputs simultaneously - NI USB-6009 and NI USB-6212 - ANSI C

    Hello

I'm reading at all times and at the same time analog and digital inputs. Digital and analog samples must be sampled at the same clock and acquisition should be started (triggered?) at the same time (I don't want, after some time, analog reception more digital samples - the opposite is also true).

I found an example (in C source code) "National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C\Synchronization\Multi-Function\ContAI-Read dig Chan" and tried to run with two USB cards: NI USB-6009 and NI USB-6212. Unfortunately, the two results by mistake, as described below:

DAQmx error: the requested value is not supported for this property value.
    Property: DAQmx_SampTimingType
    You asked: DAQmx_Val_SampClk
    You can select: DAQmx_Val_OnDemand

    Task name: _unnamedTask<1>

    State code:-200077
End of the program, press the Enter key to exit

-Is it possible sync analog and digital acquisition in the paintings?

    -If so, how?

    Thank you

    Hello tcbusatta,

Two of these modules, USB = 6008 and USB-6212, support only timed software inputs and digital outputs.  This means that you cannot define material timing (like finished sampling or continuous) for these modules.  Digital lines can be retrieved or written once to each call DAQmx read.

This means that you will not be able to get any type of synchronization tight between the analogue and digital channels.  You will need a Board such as the NI USB-6341 in order to synchronize the AI and DI closely.

  • Rate analog output USB-6008

    Hello

I just started using an NI USB-6008 box. At this point, I don't need to fill all the specific tasks other than learning to use the device. I used a fair bit of LabVIEW but never with this kind of material, and I would like to help to understand it please.

In particular, I have attached a VI in which I try to get an analog signal through the USB-6008 and read again (also with the USB-6008 - I wired the pins together). However, I do not understand what is happening when I run this VI. I expect the output a sine signal of 10 Hz for 1 second, 0.1 seconds record and see 1 full cycle of the sine wave. In practice, I read about 10 cycles and constant tension then. Presummably, this means that either the reading continues for more than 0.1 second, otherwise the output signal is more than 10 Hz.

I also tried to use the related calendar DAQmx screws with the output pin to try to adjust the output rate (samples/s) but everything that I've tried return errors. I also tried to open some examples NOR, but these errors returned as well and I still just try things on mine.

Did I miss something obvious here, but any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I had to update this post & attached VI I had made mistakes. The default values on the front panel show what I see after the execution of the VI.

    Orbital Hi,

As far as I know, you will need to use the DAQmx Read and VIs write in loops and functions of synchronization to determine data rates you want.

I also did a quick search and found a white paper which you may find useful: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/9541/en/

  • USB-6008, how to calibrate two signals are equal entry?

HI all, I use NI USB-6008 and evaluation of labview 8.5, using the daq assistant.

1st quarter) to calibrate the two input voltage signals become equal?

Q2) I used the comparison for example function: not equal.  When the two entries get value not equal, how to output of 0-5 v output?

If someone need more information to help me, I can provide.

Not sure at all what you mean by "0-5 v output to the output. Want you the difference between the two inputs to output?

In addition, two input signals will probably never equal. It's just not something that exists in the numbers floating point on a computer. You must subtract one from the other and uses in the range and force the function to determine if they are close enough.

No, traditional DAQ isn't USB compatible, 6008.

You can use DAQmx base instead, but I wouldn't recommend it.

  • New to Labview, need help. USB-6008

Hi there, let start by saying, I'm totally new to Labview.  I have experience of programming in C, C++, VB etc, but never in Labview.  I thought that Labview is not much of a difference, but I was very wrong.  I went and bought the acquisition of data USB-6008 and downloaded the trial labview to explore and I am totally stuck and have no idea how to proceed.  I can start over again and probably learn all the basics, but I don't want to take too much of my time.  in any case, here is a description of my project:

Configuration: USB-6008 - to measure the voltage of a battery lithium ~3.6V

Circuit printed with a switch either connects the battery resistance or not.  the switch can be turned on and off by a USB-6008 analog voltage output

What I want to do in pseudo-code:

    If you click START,

Take a read of DAQ and shop to chart and indicator of voltage 1

If the voltage is > 3.6, then

    30 seconds

a voltage data acquisition to turn on the switch and light load lights output

read DAQ and update graphic and indicator of voltage 2 reading

    If it is DAQ< 3.5,="" status="" indicator="OFF," else="">

30 seconds of the end loop

If the last reading after 30 seconds of DAQ is > 3.5, the message 'pass' else a message "fail".

    on the other

indicate a voltage lower than 3.6V and stop the program

end if and stop the program.

NOTE: the voltage indicator 1 show ONLY the first reading before the circuit switch is on.

I didn't know that it is very difficult to program, because everything is very basic, but since I don't know Labview, I do not know how to proceed.  a front is attached.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello!

To start, here are a few things.

    1. learning LabVIEW:

    www.NI.com/lv101

This has all kinds of videos step by step based on LabVIEW and is a great resource just start... it's really great because you can click on a video about any topic that interests you. There are a set of tabs at the top that categorize videos.

2 examples of DAQ. In LabVIEW go to the Help menu > examples of find... Then in the window that opens (this is called the Finder of the example) you can navigate to the material file Input and Output > DAQmx > Analog measures > voltage

We have tons of DAQ examples, so this should at least allow you to read a voltage quickly.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello

I am currently using a map of measurement computing USB - DAQ 3101, but now uses a card DAQ NI USB-6008 and need a bit of help with conversions of connector and pinout.  MC USB-3101 has a pinout 56, where, as the NI USB-6008 housing has a pinout 32.  I've done the research, but found different results.  Someone at - it a concrete conversion pdf or Web site for these conversions?

    Thank you

    Hello Steve,.

Thank you for your email back! I now see what you were asking. The VOUT1 and the VIOUT2 I feel would be the equivalent of the 6008 AO 0 1 AO and GND. So pines 14-16 These would be the pins that you would use to produce a voltage based on the specifications of the card. It is not a "NC" or not connects to the 6008, as all the pins are used.  Let me know if it helps! Have a great day!

    See you soon!

  • Incorrect value for analog output USB-6008. Cannot not out more than 3V

I use USB-6008 analog IO, but the analog output (AO0 or AO1) can go up to 3 - 3.5V. The output can follow accurately the value of 0 to 2, 5V, but then he start the values adjusted trolling and not can not spend you 3.5V exponentially.

The only strange thing the entire circuit is that I connected all patterns (analog source and I/O 5V) between them, but I don't see what affect the output.

    Kind regards

Thanks for the quick reply Ana.

It is not the Council NOR, nor the Council of motorization. Apparently, the interface for motor control (motor spirit C: solutions - cubed.com), load the analog output. A tension following actually isolated op amp output USB-6008 and solved the problem.

  • USB 6008: problem with using the 5V output

I am a new user of products OR.

I have a USB 6008 and I want to connect the output constant 5v (PIN 31) leg of VCC to a pressure sensor.

My device is connected to the computer, but I get no signal output. Do I have to do something to activate the output or is it constant? If so, why can I not see a signal in the meter?

The 6008 has an amout 5V output limited power available.  Make sure that your sensor attracts less then the 200mA who is spec'd for the 6008.  In addition and I have to ask, you have the sensor on the ground ground 6008?

  • USB-6008 to give the digital output

    Hi all

I was wondering anyone at - it base an example of an exercise using USB 6008 to give a digital output of a VI in Labview.

I am very new to the use of the USB 6008 AND Assistant DAQ and so far I've had reading a temperature, next step is I want the USB-6008 to give a + 5v output when the temperature reaches a certain value, I built a Labview 2009 VI for the temperature reading, but now I'm stuck on this piece.

Any help is appreciated! or if there are examples of laboratory exercises that exist that I can perhaps draw.

    Hi Marko

Please take a look at the link that has some interesting and intuitive video to use the USB-6008 housing and how to set up the device for several applications in LabVIEW below. Please take a look at the step by step videos and let me know how you go. They are under the tab '"virtual Demos.

  • How can I get digital signals (interface UART) with a microcontroller with NI USB-6008?

I have acauired a few analog signals by A/D (3 channels). I put each scanned data on 3 digital output with a microcontroller. I want to see if it is possible to import these digital outputs 3 to a PC via a USB-6008? It's like the connection of the output to the digital input of the USB-6008 and import the 3 channels simultaneously to LabView? Do I need to use some other hardware like USB-8451 and connect the clock of the MCU to USB-8451?

    Saraydin,

The digital I/o on the USB-6008 is a software program only, so unless your signals are rather slow, it probably will not work for you.  In general, the procedure would be to connect each signal to one of the digital lines on the map and then set up a digital entry into LabVIEW task to read the three channels.  If you use a device that has clocked by the digital i/o hardware, you then your input clock signal and use it as the sample for the task clock.  Here is a list of USB devices supporting DIO clocked by the hardware.  Also, there is an example that comes with LabVIEW, which shows how to do this.  You can get to it in LabVIEW by going to help > find examples.  When the example Finder window opens, navigate to hardware input and output > DAQmx > digital measures > Cont read dig Chan-Ext Clk.vi.

The 8451 is specifically for I2C and SPI, and would be great if you try to make one of these protocols, but otherwise I would recommend the devices in the list I linked above.
