USB-6353 surge

I need to record 12 VDC, but my USB-6353 is evaluated only for +/-10 VDC. There is a side of surge of +/-25 VDC at 20 my.

As it is a measure of voltage, the current is not anywhere near 20 my.

Apart from the creation of a voltage divider, can I abuse my USB-6353 and do not FRY something?

The 12 VDC is a PC power supply. Should be stable.

You should know that anything over 10V is cut.  The surge is just how much protection has the device.  So even if the 12V does not break the unit, the measure will always be 10V.

Use a divisor of tension, preferably with an op-amp in a montage of voltage follower.

    Hello, everyone!

I m using USB 6251 OEM for more than two years without major problems, but my applications are increasingly complex and OR start offering NI USB 6353, with many improvements, mainly on the transfer speed.

My problem is: using 6251 I run an application that generates analog data with 100KS/channel (2 channels) and generates a digital stream data with 1MHz, 8 bits wide. Both tasks are Nsamples mode, without regeneration and can´t stop or loose data while running. It works really fine on 6251. On labview, just changing the necessary (using Daq Assisant to replace tasks) to use 6353 an error message appear on screen:

"Overflow memory on-board unit. Due to the limitations of system and/or the bandwidth of the bus, the driver could not write data to the device fast enough to track the rate of output of the device. Reduce your sampling rate, or reduce the number of programs that your computer runs at the same time. »

If 6353 is faster than 6251 why this error just on 6353? 6353 is worse than 6251 inthis?

    Hi André,.

I m waiting for a work around to fix this bug. In my application, I use this way to generate waveforms for more control. The application control how many cycles is generated on each stage, based on digital input, digital output stream is also controlled. In this way is really important have these two tasks running at the same time. We have the same tasks on 6251 and we decided to migrate to 6353 because it has more channels and improvements on communication.

Thanks for everything and I m waiting for a report to correct this bug.

  • How two generations different wafeforms on ao channels USB-6353

I'm use DAQmx driver from a C++ code to control a device USB-6353. It is possible the same task to generate a sinwave on Dev1/ao0 and a Triangle on ao1/Dev1 waveform?

    Thanks in advance

Yes you can, simply create a task generation to the MAX with two channels, set this task as in DAQmx Timing input and then create an array with 2 elements, one for each waveform.

I send you an example where you just change the enter task and the table. You need an array containing two elements, one for each waveform.

Of course, you will have the same frequency of sampling for two generations!

    I hope that helps!

    Hello

What you can do is to reset the usb hub. This will probably fix your problem and if it doesn't it is will also be useful in pointing to USB are damaged by the surge.

First try these steps to reset zero USB hub and let us know the result. Here are the steps:

USB controllers require that an IRQ be assigned. The IRQ line is assigned in the computer's BIOS, and usually IRQ 9 is assigned.

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers

To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
    1. Click the Hardware tab.
    1. Click the Device Manager button.
    1. Expand Bus USB controllers.
    1. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click on uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    2. Restart the computer and reinstall the USB controllers.
    1. Plug in the removable USB storage device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

  • With USB ports surge protectors

I have an iPad 12,9 Pro.  I noticed an increase in surge protector Strip with USB connections available in stores.  Is can I charge my iPad Pro by directly connecting the charging cable into either of the USB sockets on the power strip to the surge protector?

Perhaps, but it will be probably cool more slowly than with 12 Watt charger, it came with. Compare the 2.4 output amplifier with current available from one of these ports of surge protector.

  • Test capacitor does not load when DAQ USB-6221 is used as a measuring device

Forum of NOR expensive, I have a Setup (see below) which is supposed to read the tension between a capacitor and a resistor in series.  Unfortunately, I found that the capacitor is unable to load completely with the connected acquisition of data entry.  However, if I remove AI0 connection of the circuit and the capacitor charges normally...

I would be grateful if someone could explain to me:

    • Why this happens
    • If there is a way to change my test circuit in order to fully load the DAQ capacitor is connected

For reference, I tried to change the position of resistance and capacitor (i.e. initially the capacitor in series), and in this case, the capacitor had no problem charging.  But for my purposes, I will need to test with first series resistance because I already have a lot of maps of test which are built this way.

The food is set up to provide 75V (the rated voltage of the capacitor) when put on and the current limit is set at 20 Ma.  With these settings my capacitor only charge about 20 or 30 V with DAQ in the circuit.

Let me know if I can give more details and thanks in advance to those who give thought to my question,

You may test the limits of your USB-6221 surge.  I hope that you don't him don't have not damaged.

You should be able to use some simple resistive voltage dividers for tensions in the acceptable range.  They will limit your ability to measure the leakage current.

  • USB mouse loses power, freezes randomly, ceases to work, a solution

Running the SP3 XP, 32-bit home edition, P4 2.8 Dell 4600i.  To run run a Dell USB keyboard and mouse USB ativa.  These are the only two USB devices connected to my computer.

    All updates are underway.

For a few months now, I got my mouse USB working at random times stop.  Move my mouse the mousepad on my pant leg seemed to thaw it (most) of the time.  Recently, I got a warning from outdated taskbar re "USB Power Surge" dialog box when I resorted to unplug the mouse and reconnecting to restore operation of the mouse.

A power surge USB Google search led me to a fix!  This correction, however, is not as described below.

Use your computer as an administrator.

Click right poste post work, select Properties, select hardware, select Device Manager.  Scroll down to Bus USB controllers, open the sign more Bus USB controllers, do scroll to the USB root hub and highlight.  Right-click this entry, and then select Properties.  A window will open with four tabs.  Choose the power management.  The page should say hub USB root and below, should be a check box to uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" that box and close.  Close all dialog boxes, including the Device Manager.

That repeat the same exact steps for all of the other listed USB root Hubs and close once.  It should not be necessary, (it was not for me), but a reboot may be necessary to save the settings.

I think my computer has been turned off for my mouse when it was not used or has struggled to recognize that the mouse has been used.  Sometimes the red laser would disengage (no light) or available power would be reduced, resulting in malfunction.

This Council would apply to the proper functioning of any built-in USB port used.  I have eight USB ports allowing to use it on my computer, and there are four lists of USB root hub, each with a 500 my rating.

Solutions to vary on symptoms and devices used; It is a solution that I have found anywhere else.

Sometimes replace the device (mouse) is the key, or buy a hub USB self-powered can address performance issues.  With a card integrated (mother) USB port, only 500 mA is available to power a USB device, but a self-powered USB hub will support USB devices that draw more current than the built-in USB port can provide, particularly when a single USB port supports, such as a mouse and a USB set camera.

In my case, the mouse has worked on a Linux machine, but not on the XP computer.  The keyboard would freeze a few seconds sometimes when you tap on XP, but not on Linux.  Now, both the mouse and the keyboard work as expected and there is no point of freezing more of any kind.

Operation of these devices has got to be a little frustrating, but the solution was simple.

    I hope this helps.

  • Several channels daq

Hello.. I use usb 6353 DAQ board for my project. I want to buy 3 different voltages and post it on labview. When I take a channel (ai0) data in the daq assistant it works fine, but when I add channels (ai1, ai2) in the nd task run it, tensions mix. I used split Subvi to separate dynamic data, but the readings are all wrong.

  • Digital input triggering

    Hello

Is it possible to trigger action digital input using the signal I want to measure? In the example:

I want to measure PWM on P0.0 after first rising edge PWM on P0.0, but using only this line P0.0 (no PFI in use, only one used digital entry).

    IM using X SERIES USB-6353.

Some DAQ cards can trigger on analog edge of the signal you want to measure. If a DI data extraction, it is possible to select only the PFI or similar as trigger. What is your application? What you want to achieve?

I can imagine you could workaround: record streaming samples of DI and do a SW trigger in your program, so you can get the same samples prédéclenchés (as in a digital oscilloscope).

  • Conversion of a "differential" connection for connection "CSR".

    Hello

I'm dealing with a measuring system that has already used a "CSR" connection to measure certain voltage signals and it worked well. There is now a new data acquisition (NI USB 6353) and the "differential" connection is used. However, the measures are not more correct.

I know that it would be possible to change the method of connecting to "CSR" as it used in changing the VI but in this case, it would be difficult since I don't have easy access to the DAQ device more.

    So the question is this:

Is it possible to manually change a "differential" connection to a "CSR" connection simply by unplugging cables now used GND signal and connect the ports of entry in the GND of the NI USB 6353 ports? This type of connection would be practically the same as using "CSR"?

    Any help is appreciated.

Said already that your negatives were all terrain?  If you just need to make sure that the reason for your signal corresponds to the ground for the acquisition of data.  And to do this, you must connect a pattern of your object to measure data acquisition (IE link your patterns together).

  • delay between the identical waveforms generated

Hello world. I want to generate tension by the use of the NI USB - 6353 X. When I tried to use the vi 'Voltage - finished output.vi' example, I realized that there is a period of time between two generated waveforms. It is an undesirable situation for our application. Why is this delay happens? How to generate at the same time?

VI of function generator based on there is an entry called Signal of Reset.  Than the true value.  What is happening is that your second wave comes to be a continuation of the first.  As the first waveform settings say he needs a little more time, you get this time dead at the beginning of your second waveform.

  • Add a channel CJC for thermocouple

    Hello!

I'm looking for a suitable temperature measuring device to add a channel of temperature that I will use as a reference channel for my X-Series DAQ Multifunction (USB-6353).  Ideally something that was small and had 3 or 4 terms (power and power) would be nice.  Like a little OCD packaged IC.  Something that can be easily connected to the Terminal Board connections and the temperature around these output connection is what I'm after.  Maybe an RTD?  Mega Kudos for reference numbers.
