USB on the VM of Windows RDP session

Just in case that some know, like me, who complained and complained that he did not...

If you are going to start an RDP on windows to a virtual computer

Look at options, local resources, goto and resources local devices and more... Tell him what records you want in the vm and poof there they are...

Remember that it is the same thing as a true operating system, the drivehas to be pluged after you in the virtual machine if it is a USB key.

Just thought I would pass it even if its now obvious to me...

My stupid

Update, almost all the ports on the computer of your use of rdp to the VM can be used in this way...

Remember that it is the same thing as a true operating system, the drivehas to be pluged after you in the virtual machine if it is a USB key.

Yes it works.  But you don't have to do it after, it can't be before at the time of the connection, and there is a setting that you can connect to "devices" I added later... ».  But plug and play for Windows 2000 in RDP sessions.

  • HP LaserJet 1200: HP LaserJet 1200 connected via USB to the PC with Windows 7 is not redirected in DRC

    Hello.

HP LaserJet 1200 connected via USB to the PC with Windows 7 (32 bit) and works fine (latest drivers via Windows Update installed).

But when I have connected via RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) for PC with Windows XP and try to print from this PC to LJ1200 - it is not redirected in a remote desktop session and I did not see in printers and Faxes folder.

Other printers from PC with Win7 works fine via DRC (XPS Document Writer and PDFCreator).

During this time when I do the same thing from another PC with Windows XP, LJ1200 (connected via USB to the PC) works very well through the DRC.

Anyone know how to make LJ1200 to be redirected in a remote desktop session?

    Thanks in advance.

For more information, here are 2 possible solutions:

    1. put two computers in the same workgroup and then share the printer and install from the remote computer.

    2. best solution: install on PC with Windows 7 drivers for Windows XP (PCL6) - it works very well as a redirected local printer via DRC!

    Hello

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it is related to maximize the number of RDP session for Office remote connections to the server. Appropriate in instances of Windows Server.

Please post your question in the Forums of Windows Server.

Hi we have 4 pc under windows 7 in the office users connect using RDP when they work from home.

is it possible to display their RDP sessions (no need to interact - just view only)
Need to do this without user intervention in the rdp session.

I know that the remote assistance feature lets you view - but this requires intervention by the user.

During the closure after a browsing session I find several windows behind the window of the main browser I have not opened and they must be closed individually. What is the cause and how can I stop it? Edit

These windows display ads? They could be 'pop-under' designed to show when you are finished with your main window. Orbitz has these, for example. Irritating. I'm not sure of the best solution, i.e., advertising blocker blocker vs.

If they are not ads, can you think anyway that they are related to the sites you visit?

In addition, to close a tab (or window, if there is only one tab), you can press Ctrl + w. could speed up the process of their release until you find a real solution.

  • No USB 2.0 driver available for HP p7-1254 (for the installation of Windows 7)

    P7-1254 HP Desktop
Windows 7 Edition Home Premium 64-bit

I replaced my hard drive and do a clean installation of Windows 7.
I already found the drivers from hp.com site, and I am familiar with the order and the process of installing the driver on this machine.

My problem is; HP seems to offer is more USB 2.0 for downloading drivers.

USB 3.0 drivers are all that is available for the HP p7-1254.

    So I have two questions:

    1. can I install only the drivers USB 3.0 on a Windows 7 computer, and wait for my USB 2.0 devices to work?

    2. in the case, where can I download drivers USB 2.0 for this machine?

Thank you in advance for any help or advice you offer.

    Hello:

Windows 7 has the USB 2 drivers included with the operating system.

USB3 drivers will only install the drivers for the 3 USB ports.

You must install the amd chipset driver and restart the computer before installing other drivers.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

Your computer does not have Microsoft's Downgrade rights and you must buy a copy of Windows 7 with a valid Microsoft COA and product key.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install Windows 7 from a USB and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the factory hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • User logged on the server over the RDP session - Small Business Server 2011 x 64

We have a Small Business Server 2011 standard x 64.  We have the configuration of the remote desktop on port forwarding in the firewall to allow a user to connect to this server using RDP remote desktop.  This isn't a server terminal server.  No, there are no available Remote Desktop Manager settings.

When the user connects through the RDP application and connects to the server.  If the users session is idle for 15 minutes, the user is connected to the server (not disconnected the RDP session, just to connect to the server).  The user must log into the server every time that happens.  We tried adjusting the Remote Desktop Session Host settings and changed the Session time limits, but this isn't the parameter we are looking for.  We have looked extensively through the default domain group policy and see nothing active to this behavior.  We examined local group policies and studied the session time limits in the user and computer configuration > policies > models Admin > RDP >... session host and it is has anything configured here which could trigger this behavior.

Yet once, it connects the disabled user, not closing the remote session.  We have also examined the user account for this user and looked for resume posting require logon settings (although with SBS, it is not even there to adjust the display settings).  I had partner Microsoft supports focus on this during one hour (he didn't use too much of my time to support) and they have been unable to resolve within an hour.

    Hi K - Ann,

Thank you for the above information.

I followed you instruction to back up the registry keys, but when I followed step number 7. Navigate to the location and look for the name of the file with the .reg extension and click Open, the message of answers that I received from the registry editor has been as follows: -.

Impossible to import C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents\My Backup\Backup260910.reg of register: not all data was successfully written to the registry.  Some keys are open by the system or my other processes.

So I closed my computer and restarted. I then followed your instructions again (this time save the backup of the registry to a member in the same library, called "Backup260910bkup"

Yet once, when I followed the number of the step 7. Navigate to the location and look for the name of the file with the .reg extension and click Open, the message of answers that I received from the registry editor has been as follows: -.

Impossible to import C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents\My Backup\Backup260910bkup.reg of register: not all data was successfully written to the registry.  Some keys are open by the system or my other processes.

Can you tell me what I need to do to work around this problem of backup of the registry?

I look forward to receiving your response.

    Thank you
