USB ports blocking my pc

Whenever I have plug in an Ipod, digital camera, MP3 player, external hard drive, USB drive my computer restarts. I tried to get an error message, but it won't happen. In the Device Manager it says that all work ok, it's two ports at the front of the PC. the mouse is plugged into the port of return ok. I'm afraid to try at the front as the PC is very slow start. PC is IT Works M-3251. I can't find the manufacturer online to help me.

  • OneNote hijacks my usb port and blocks printer inkjet Lexmark 4200.

I am trying to use a printer ink Lexmark 4200 with xp pro and office Enterprise 2007. on a HP a365c. The usb port is monopolized by the onenote program that runs my impression rather than Lexmark 4200 onenote comand. The fax Lexmark 4200 is functional. I have not tried to send a fax via the computer yet but will be shortly. I just feed in the Lexmark 4 in one. I tried to disable a note with the enterpise office program, but it has no effect. There is a /slash of red circle at the entrance to Lexmark 4200 on the screen of the printer of the Panel control my XP. Does anyone have any idea on this? I don't want onenote on this machine, but it cannot go down. Another PC computer with an earlier edition of microsoft word etc works fine after reading the instructions from Lexmark to click 'Cancel' on the new hardware screen that produces the XP to start. I did it with this one, but nothing helped. The other is a Comapaq older which is my ACE in the hole. The usb port is occupied by the lexmark 4200. There is no Onenote on this machine.

    Hello Thunder

Believe me, that's not easy to discuss this issue. Generally mobile phones have God, cooling systems, and something like that should not happen. When you use Notepad on a regular, with other words placed on computer desk laptop s cooling fans and cooling grills is not blocked and laptop can resume his breath and material can be cooled properly.

To be honest, I can't imagine that something like this is possible. Initially, all plastic components used in the laptop can handle with a high enough temperature and, second, USB ports are placed on the side and it is not logical for me. I m wondering how high must be the laptop temperature when this happens.

In this case I highly recommend to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider as soon as possible. They check your laptop. They can see which produce inside and give you useful tips how you use your laptop computer in the future.

By the way: what model of laptop do you have?

    Good luck.

  • On the Satellite P300-172 USB port failure

I bought this laptop in August 2008, I had no problems with it until last week when the USB port I plug the mouse in stopped working.
I changed to the following, it also wasn't work, but one of the other side worked ok. Use the computer laptop all that evening, the next day it would not start, just got a whole screen, that came out and it turns off, back on, power lights all came, but just a blank screen. I noticed that the area round the s defective USB was really hot in a few minutes.

According to me, the failure of USB caused a significant fault, motherboard maybe.
I paid a lot of money for this laptop and I expected to last more than 13 months. I tried to call Toshiba but I can t live without it repeat press this button for the Department you want, but whatever the button that you press it back to the original message.

If he had an idea of what could be the problem with the laptop and he thinks that too much power going to him, asked a computer engineer.

Someone at - it an idea what could be causing this, I am housebound and rely on the internet.

    Hello

His pity to hear that your laptop has started to malfunction, but a hardware malfunction can always happen. Generally, you should contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country for assistance.

I put t know where you are but I found this page from Toshiba Europe ASP database:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-> support download &-> find an authorized service provider

    Regarding your question.
In most cases, the higher internal temperature might be the reason for this closure downs.
Portable media some sensors that would power the laptop off to prevent material damage the temperature can increase because the cooling modules are blocked because of the dust and debris also use of non-Toshiba graphics card driver can cause problems of graphics so it s always advisable to use the graphics drivers from Toshiba.

In any case it seems that your laptop needs expert help then get in touch with ASP in your country and ask for more details.

  • Z500 8.1 Windows 64-bit USB ports not working not

Hi everyone, now I have bought a lenovo Z500. After update to 8.1 Windows 64 bit, USB flashdrives could not run properly eventually Explorer Windows did not. When I try to restart, it blocks on the screen "Restart" and I have to press and hold the power button to power unit off which is very dangerous for the laptop. Other usb devices work well as a drive external hard, mouse and keyboard. USB flash drive only have such a problem. When I insert my USB key, I hear the sound which indicates that a device has been inserted. It is not the usb flash drive, because I tried with different USB keys and the same thing happens. All USB keys works well on my desktop (Windows 7).

    Thank you..!!

After you uninstall a software firewall, USB port, back to normal.

    Thank you.

  • HP a6554f: Front USB Ports not working for a6554f

Hi, I cleaned the dust from my computer yesterday for the first time because the computer kept crashing. I removed the motherboard, so I unplugged everything that was clinging to her and I also removed the hard drive then plugged everything once I had finished, (do not know if I just plugged in as it was, even if I took a video of it, but the wasen can't good quality so I had to guess a little). I also added thermal compound to the cpu.

Anyway, everyhting seems to work except the 2 usb ports front of the case. It was working fine until I opened the case (this is why I do not open the computers, but the dust was just too). The audio ports and microphone located in the front work correctly. And the rear USB ports are working properly.

What I've done so far is running pilot Booster and also I went to Device Manager > USB Bus controllers, then I turned off everything on the list, then allowed them again. And nothing has worked.

I don't know much about computers so I don't want to go to the hassle of opening the case cause once again I was scared lol but could I maybe hooked up a cable in the port of fake?

Also, is there a diagram to show where each cable goes to the a6554f model?

As you pointed out the audio before and MIC ports are working, then it might be just the plug for the ports before USB is not properly or is in the wrong place.  Here is a page that relates to the motherboard. In the lower right corner of the image or the page layout scheme, there are two blocks header before normally taken into USB ports.  Says F_USB1 and F_USB2.  Either we must work to the front ports.  Check to make sure that the wiring box beam (which has the wires going to the front USB ports) is connected on one of them.

  • Execution of shared USB port

    Hello:

I use a key USB Hub (x 8) RS - 232 and I created a Subvi to read the data via a port COM using VISA. Everything works fine.

When I try to run two instances of the same Subvi in parallel (with two instances of the same VI on the block diagram with different COM ports as inputs), the SubVIs are not running at the same time, but in the order. What settings will allow to run the SubVis in parallel and share the USB port?

    Thank you!

    Dan

    Hi Dan10

    Have you tried

"VI > properties > run > run (Checked) reentrant'?"

You should be able to communicate with

-different instances of the same program (VI) on different ports... is not serious USB, series, GPIB.

    It works for you?

(However you want to access the same port, then you will need to isolate your 2 instances (such as MISTLETOE) talking to the same resource driver underneth.)

  • When I plug my Galaxy s captivate phone into the usb port on my computer, it will charge the phone but will not allow sharing of information from computer phone.

Original title: usb with smart phone problem

When I plug my galaxy s captivate phone into the usb port on my computer, it will charge the phone but I cannot share the news from computer to phone. In fact when I click on the computer icon, it shows the dvd, floppy disks and hard disk but not the phone. I use a mouse usb and headphones and they work fine. I tried to search for devices and it does not work. I run Defender pro anti-virus software and have checked the firewall, but I don't see that his block the phone. I don't know what else to do. Help, please. Thank you

    Hi Mike,.

Just to follow up with you on that, that very well may be the cause. Especially when it comes to mobile phones, the real cable you use is very important to have all the features when it is plugged into a computer. Where you can try a new USB cable yet, I hope that whoever is completely compatible with this phone.
  • Update has buggered my USB Ports

I got updates from last week and they screwed up my usb ports. I know that it is a recurring problem with this update and Vista. It currently takes me 40 + minutes to transfer 1.5 GB of data from a USB to my pc via USB. There are solutions to this problem? It is a big problem for me because I need to be able to transfer large TIFF files. Help, please!

Download and install one at a time.

A tedious job, but the only way.

When you find the one that is blocking you, do a system restore, hide it and get halp for the KB numberv for this update. Mick Murphy

  • What is the best/better way to reenumerate USB ports from a script? I need to emulate the same enumeration that occurs when a USB device is either plugged or unglugged to a USB port.

I'm working on a network to restrict access to the ISSO role USB mass storage, only. Management wants to access USB Mass Storage for ISSOs on all workstations while blocking access to USB mass storage to all others... on all the workstations. They also want to that USB ports remain available for everything except Mass Storage.

There are many ways to do it, but the only 'reliable' method, I found so far is to point the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\UBSSTOR\ImagePath key to some fake file to block ports and rename it back to access it again.

To do this, I need to do things more two 2...

    1. make sure that the ImagePath key always has the false value at startup, and

    2. create a login script that affects the ImagePath value when a member of the ISSO group connects... and reset it when they log off.

Which meet the requirements of the direction if only it worked! The problem is that USB devices must be listed again to re-read the ImagePath registry key after each change. Reconnect the device will do, but it would be unwise to rely on a user to restrict access (fox/Coop).

The following Microsoft KB seems to be the way to go, but we do not have compilers on the network...

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/259695

I know that this hack to the system is not the most elegant, but I'm just trying to make the management happy.

    Nobody knows...

    1. any (more elegant) way to meet the specified requirement, or

    2. a way to re - enumerate USB devices from a script.

    Thank you! ... Todd

  • My USB ports do not work.

    Hello
Yesterday, I bought a brand new printer, implemented, it was working fine, and then it just stopped. So I fought a bit with her, decided the printer was defective and would resume and put it out to a new, and meanwhile put my printing task on my jump drive and bring it to our local printing store. However, when I put my jumpdrive into the USB port to transfer the project, my computer would not my USB - stick. So now, I think that for some reason that my USB ports are not working. Why is this happening and how to fix it?

    Hello

1 reboot to be sure nothing blocks the ports.

On the 4 USB ports on my PC, I need to block all ports except one. The PC runs on windows 7 Professional - 64-bit. How can I do this by tweak Windows registry.

You can change the capacity of the ports in your BIOS settings, if you want to enable or disable. If this is the case, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your device to change.
