USB runs now buzzing noise

Presario S5100NX

Hello, believe that I caused a short circuit and now there is a noise of snoring/snoring coming from inside the pc.  Accidentally hit the side micro usb cable to the usb hub, computer shutdown / crashed? and when I turned it on, the buzz began and monitor shows the Compaq screen with a configuration F1 and F10 system recovery options.  The two option fail. Switch keyboards and F1 & F10 always inadmissible.

The noise comes from a little black cylinder, with AC - 1205G and add the sign inside a circle on his back.  It is located right next to the port which connects the power button and led lights to the Board of Directors.

Need to know if there is a reset or fuse.  Is the Council possible burnt or bad?  Can I repair or should I bring to a service center?

Help.

The AC - 1205G Unit is a magnetic buzzer.  Given that your venerable old PC (10 years) gave you many years of great use, it seems a good time to replace. There is no fuse or reset on the motherboard.

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to find a replacement motherboard as they are no longer manufactured. The current value of the (PC< $50.00),="" even="" in="" good="" working="" condition,=""  is="" actually="" not="" enough="" to="" warrant="" investing="" any="" funds=""  to="" have="" any="" work="" done="" on="">

Best regards

  • Loud buzzing noise VN7 - 791-G [+ audio clip]

For the last two weeks that I had trouble with a very loud hum staticky coming from the lower left corner of my Aspire VN7 - 791 G (left of the Tablet under the keyboard) when the machine is under load (working in game engines and play games, mainly). I've had this laptop for a little over a year and never had this problem before. Side software, everything seems fine, I have not noticed any FPS fall or freezes / crashes or something of the sort. I get an occasional blue screen, but those who are very rare after all drivers and updates to BIOS (power of State failure or something like that).

The hum seems louder depending on the workload. If I close all active programs, the noise tends to remain constant for couple minutes, then he calms down gradually until it is completely silent.

I tried to record the sound, and when I listen to the helmet that looks a lot like the real thing (but not too strong): http://vocaroo.com/i/s1cZvjzHgHs5.

Also: I have not tried to replicate this again, but earlier I was running a game on the battery from the battery by accident. The machine has been completely silent. After awhile, I got a message saying battery was weak, so I plugged in the charger and... instantly, heard the buzz with a maximum volume (not a gradual increase as usual). Could it have something to do with the power save settings perhaps? Or more likely as a material thing?

    Thank you

    So, I have good news...

In a last effort attempt, I decided to open my laptop and remove the front left speaker, because I was almost certain that it is the noise. I unplugged the mobo, unscrewed it and removed from the chassis. I tried all day and I can confirm that the hum is GONE now!

It's kinda something hacky that I have now only 3 speakers instead of 4, but I'm just happy that I am able to reuse this thing in the workplace. CE marking as resolved.

I really want to be sure ive tried everything before you do this.

Could I have really damaged the MB. ??

    > I think that my last resort looking for a factory system by default re install... but one have a mountain of things astro which must be saved and cannot be done through many many discs

Even if it s really painful to get everything installed it again, I would recommend to recover the laptop using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery.

    > Could I have really damaged the MB. ??
Well, it's hard to say before trying the recovery procedure.
If the USB ports are not working after using the recovery disk (or HDD recovery), then of course: the mobo may be affected, therefore, in my view, the laptop must be set to the factory settings.

  • Questions about SD and USB running Vista on Satellite M40X

Well, I've updated my M40X to VISTA, if it is not mentioned on the list of allow.
Well, actually installed on a new formatted partition.
Runs smoothly, RAM is sufficient, component more slow seems to be the CPU, well, fair enough.

Obviously, I'm not able to get the card reader (chip SD card combo, xD,) or the USB ports running.
The two is listed in Device Manager, the USB hub and the customer of the sd. In addition, there are a storage device mass with a pilot error in the list.
Whenever I have insert well tested cards, USB HDs mp3 players or that it is in the slots the computer sometimes makes noise-ping but does not show any device in Solution Explorer or a new letter of the device.

I think it's some kind of driver issue, but found no solution. Not even after researching dayandnight on forums and other things.
Card reader is "Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Intergrated Flash Media Controller", as I understand it.
Well, I'd be more than happy and greatfull if someone could recommend a solution for these problems, pref with links to the drivers.
    Am really low.

    TIA

    Hello

As you know, this laptop model is certainly not support Vista and Toshiba will design all the Vista drivers for this model of laptop. I can imagine that Vista works very well, but without the right drivers, it is not easy to use certain hardware components.

I recommend you to use Windows XP Home edition. WXP works great on this laptop. For all tests, you can install Vista on the second partition to see how it works. I think right after a few weeks remove you Vista and use WXP as before. ;)

  • HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b003SA buzzing noise!

I got my new HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14 - b003SA for a week now and have noticed that it is a constant low humming sound since the cooling fan is always on. It is not at all very strong but is remarkable in a quiet room and is annoying to live with. I went into the bios and disabled "fan always on" making silent (except when the fan comes in to keep the temp down from time to time and again around 60 c). I'm happy with it on this setting, but I'm afraid that not having only not the fan on "always we" laptop overheating and damage the cpu is slowed down 10-15 ° c warmer than when the fan is on according to the base temperature.

My question is: is this normal for this laptop for the fan to run constantly and have a low buzzing sound? If so, is it safe mode off "always one fan? I only use this laptop for basic stuff (that is to say sea navigation and not to play games).

I think I can always go back to the company I got it since then, but they can charge me up to 25% of the cost of the laptop if they think that there is no fault, so I want to make sure that it is defective, before doing so.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello!

It is prudent to disable the "fan always on" mode  Also, if the laptop is fairly new, I suggest you contact HP support directly and let them know about the issue.  The number is 1-800-474-6836 for US / Canadian customers.  If you are in another part of the world, you visit HP's Support around the world to find the coordinates for your region.

    Have a great day.

There is usually a combintiotion key, such as Alt + F2 keyboard or a switch that can turn off the touchpad.  The best place to get this info would be the laptops of the basic documents, or by contacting acer

    Hello

looks like a hardware failure. Maybe a faulty display ups or something similar. I suggest you:

Bring your machine to an authorized local ASP. They must correct this mistake and replace defective parts of your laptop.
Here´s a link to find a few ASP in your area:

  • C50-A-1DV satellite makes strange static/buzzing noise

My brand new toshiba laptop is constantly producing a strange humming/static noise that seems to come from the fan.

I don't know if this is the case with all these models but it's pretty boring and I fear that something could be wrong with the laptop.

Please can someone help me on this one?
What can be the cause of the strange noise?

As I said it seems to come from the fan, but I'm not 100% sure.

Have you noticed this buzzing/static noise while turning heavy fan?

For me it of very difficult to tell if it s a good fan noise or unusual noises that may be related to problems of cooling module.

On the other hand, you are not sure if the noise comes from the fan, so I think we are groping in the dark to 100%

From my point of view of the few the laptop is new and if you don't know if there is a hardware problem, you should ask a favor for the engineer and check.

Mate sorry but at this point, I have no other 'solution' for you :(

  • Satellite L300 - USB modem now reported as unavailable

I have a laptop Satellite L300, of Vista / Factory - I use a USB Modem to connect to the internet (this usb modem worked perfectly on the laptop until recently and still works perfectly on my PC - so not defective)

I now receive messages (all 3 usb ports) that State the: the modem we unavailable

Other usb devices IE mouse, keydrive etc seem to be fine

I uninstalled the drivers USB, rebooted, checked for hardware changes and rebooted. But still does not connect to the internet.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hi Debzs,

Can you try to remove the modem drivers, please? After that, restart your computer and install the latest drivers for modem manufacturing.
    Check this box!

Also if other devices are working properly, theoretically it could be a hardware failure on your modem :(

    Hello

Start the computer in safe mode and start the desktop.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Start your computer in SafeMode (Windows 7)

    Then perform the following steps:

A: right click on my computer, and then select Properties.

B: then go to Manager of devices and then, on the Action menu, click scan for hardware changes

    Hope that helps.

  • Headphones do a static/buzzing noise on my XPS 13 (9350)

Hi guys, when I use headphones/headset to my laptop via the headphone jack, I always hear a low static/buzzing despite the fact that no music or sound is played. Anyone else have this problem or knows how to solve?

Increase / decrease audio volume make a difference? Have you tried other headphones, or tried the helmet another PC, the noise only happen with Notepad, or follow the headset? Do you notice only the sound when using the headset?

The big thing here is to make sure that the headphone is plugged, check to see if there is any give in the connection. Move the laptop to another location and see if the noise follows the laptop.  It could be something near the laptop which is the cause of the problem. If notice you the sound on the speakers try to download the drivers.

Please let me know what you find.

  • After you use Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool it says it was created ok, but USB is now in XP or Windows 7, nothing in diskmanager either! Help

I just bought a 16 GB USB that seemed very well, ok with the image I did that I started the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool that he says have been created, but now after unplugging the USB, it is found under XP or is back on my Windows 7, nothing in diskmanager! Help

It is as if windows does not recognize the device in all machines, no prompts or messages appear

The tool is designed specifically for image ISO of Windows 7 and 8 not others.

While this is not supported, this blog describes a way of jobbing it to work with the other ISOs [and also explains why it does not work this way normally]

  • Windows 7 on the right of my usb ports now do not work all of a sudden?

Today everything to plug my mouse as usual, both of my USB ports on the right side of my laptop on the right side, all of a sudden didn't work, I tried to restart my computer 4 times but nothing has changed, I need help as soon as POSSIBLE because I ethier can't use my mouse and I can't use my keyboard and it is incredibly annoying to have to switch between the two , I also play fast games at the pace where I am not even able to play these games.

    Hello

I'd like you try to uninstall the USB drivers.

    See the steps-

    (a) click on 'Start' and right-click on "computer".

    (b) now, select 'manage '. Choose "Device Manager".

    (c) expand "USB controllers" and right-click on the USB drivers one by one and select "Uninstall".

    (d) restart the computer and check.

In addition, I would like that you download and install the latest drivers for chipset for the computer from the manufacturer's website. You can ask the manufacturer for assistance.

Note: Install the chipset drivers are at your own risk.

    We know if that helps.
