USB Tethering (MiFi) and RNDIS driver

Sorry, it's long.

We test them and robust Dell laptop (Latitude E5404) and I'm working on it is about to pass to the user. They use 6620 L MiFis outside on the road usually attached.

This * & ^) (thing # is NOT installed correctly.) I contacted Dell and Verizon for the sorted results, what has not happened.

The situation: I plug the MiFi through the usb port. The driver begins to install. Initially, he said 'MiFi 6620 L' then converts to 'Remote NDIS Device sharing Internet' driver. Things seem to be going well until the yellow exclamation point appears and Windows will warn you that the driver installation failed. When you look at the driver in Device Manager, the details of the pilot show "the driver could not be started. Error code 10. »

I have:

~ Uninstalled/reinstalled the driver
~ Uninstalled/reinstalled the USB drivers
~ Removed all software potentially conflicting
~ Tested the unit on a known working computer (Panasonic CF-30/31 with Win7 x 32-MiFi works great on old laptop)
~ Tested a working device known on the Dell (Win7 x 64 - same problem - cannot attach.)
~ Tried to select a different but similar driver via Windows
~ Will automatically search for updates of pilot
~ Checked for updates of the MiFi - it is updated
~ Scoured internet using a variety of search terms and not permanent
~ Ran CCleaner to detect that any transplant addicts who may have a negative influence on the installation of the driver
~ Tried on four USB ports on the computer
~ Ran SFC and chkdsk many times
~ Restored versions of BIOS all the way to the first
~ Review start-up control panel for all possible options that can have an impact on the departure of the pilot
~ Intel uninstalled and reinstalled devices
~ Copied the drivers from a known working computer, matching, no change
~ Performed a clean boot of Windows and the problem persists
~ Made an update of the plant on the computer and the problem with attachment occurs straight out of the door

It seems that the driver should work. It can be installed anywhere. It is not intended to be installed like this. This is supposed to be plug-and-play.

Dell nor Verizon really know what is happening. The information is to be transmitted to the network with Verizon engineers to see if they have additional ideas.

So. Do any of you?

In case someone falls on this in Google first, I thought, pretty well in my case, with the help of engineers from Novatel, a detective and good ol' ' trial and error.

During the visit the Intel site, it is worth noting here and there that they use generic drivers. When looking for drivers who may be correct, many warn that they are for developers only.

My current contention is that Dell has done something with the Intel USB 3.0 Host Controller generic driver that is not compatible with the MiFi.

I downloaded this driver from Intel on a whim, try everything that seems reasonable in an effort to understand and here! It worked! I've also just done a factory reset and tested the driver again and again, it works!

I am happy and finally happy to put this part of the preparation of the computer behind me.

Thanks to all who have offered their insight!

  • USB 3.0 and WiFi/Bluetooth Win 7 x 64 driver for HP Pavilion 14-b110TX rev: 18F9-110 Ultrabook.

    Hi all

I have this laptop that comes with Windows 8 pre - set up and I have to install Windows 7 pro on this subject.

I noticed that this laptop has only support for Windows 8 drivers in the downloads section, but I do not have a choice and just went forward to install windows 7 pro on this subject.

INstallation has been through enough most of the pilots in the section downloads for this model can be used on Windows 7 pro, but the only ones that do not work are namely the bluetooth, wifi and USB 3.0 drivers.

That said, anyone has any info on what make and model exact wifi/bluetooth/usb3 chipsets are used on this model of laptop, so I can find the respective OEMs drivers instead?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    Maverick

    Hi, Maverick:

I think the W7 x 64 drivers for this model should work on yours. You will find the controller driver USB 3.0 chipset section.

If you have not installed the chipset installation utility, I recommend that you first install and restart.

DO NOT USE THE BIOS FILES

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5317068&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5296230&swLang=13&TaskID=135&swEnvOID=4063

Go to Device Manager and view the ID of the hardware for the network controller needing drivers.

    Is your wireless card.

Once I know what model of wireless card you have, then you install the corresponding BT software and the driver for it.

To find the hardware ID, please read the info at the link below.

"Deleting" a file does not actually delete it marks just the space
also available to be used. There are third-party programs that can
sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by
the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and it makes
    the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent if you
Try it again immediately after the deletion of it and go quickly
downhill from there. If you have used the computer since then (for
example to write this question and read this answer), your chances may
    be very poor now.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop
using the computer in question immediately, if you have not done
already. Download an undelete program (and here's one:)
    http://www3.TELUS.NET/mikebike/restoration.html but there are several
others to choose from; Do a search) on a friend's computer (do not
it on yours because that would overwrite the files you want
Undelete) and bring it to you on a CD or thumb drive to try.

If that fails, your only recourse is to bring or send the disc
a company of professional file recovery. This kind of service is very
expensive and may or may not work in your case.

  • Satellite Z30 - A - USB tethering Smartphone Galaxy Note 3 does not work

    Hello

for me USB attach a Note 3 Galaxy and a Toshiba Satellite Z30 - A do not seem to work (well) with an almost out of the box system.

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite Z30 - A with 8 (.1) of Windows that has been updated through Windows Update for the latest patches from Microsoft and Toshiba tools for the latest updates it. The McAfee software product has been removed.

I can work with the Galaxy Note 3 just fine in MTP mode / charging. Unfortunately, as soon as I turn on USB tethering on the phone, the Windows networking subsystem 8.1 passes by blocking fashion and nothing comes right out of it. I tried to disable the stack IPv6 complete to the point Windows 8.1 but did not have all that much success.

I use the right Remote NDIS driver (by Microsoft); I remember having used successfully before USB tethering, and it seems sort of work on an aging Windows 7 installation with the same phone on another laptop.

Any suggestions on how to get USB tethering to work reliably and quickly in the above configuration would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that I am facing too many variables, including the operating system (tails), the Toshiba system utilities / implemented USB 3.0 and firmware Samsung Galaxy 3 Note.

Hey. Happy to know that you have solved your problem. Thanks for the comments. It may be useful to other users of the forum.

  • A1103 new Ram and HARD drive will not start

    Hello.

I have a Mac mini A1103. When I got there the folder flashing with question mark. I got a macbook earlier where this problem was solved by installing a new hard drive. so I ordered a new 160 GB IDE 2.5 "5400 RPM and 1 GB Corsair Valueselect DDR1 333 MHz hoping that this will help me get the mini running and preforming a little better with 512 MB of Ram.

When I boot the mini after swapping ram and hard drive I always see the same flashing folder. I can reset the NVRAM Boot, enter diskmode target? (I think) and the Boot Manager.

When I enter the Boot Manager I can see the following screen

a few times I get to this screen for Open Firmware screen where I can use certain commands such as vram-reset reset-all rebot and so, but sometimes I'm just stuck on this screen.

Anyone have any suggestions on what is wrong and what I can try next? I do not have the boot original dvd but I have a usb bootable with IOS 10.6 and a dvd with IOS 10.6 (not original) but I can't get botting from any of the devices.

A Mac Mini A1103 has a G4 Power PC processor and cannot be greater than 10.5.8. Superior OSX versions require an Intel processor.

In this statement "a usb bootable with IOS 10.6 and a dvd with IOS 10.6 (not original)" I think you mean OSX, not of iOS. You must obtain a copy of the original installation disc which was 10.3 or 10.4 or disk to upgrade to 10.4 or 10.5 full retail. Coverall A1103 all three 2005 models of the Mac Mini G4.

You cannot use a grey disc unless it was delivered with your specific Mac.  Native gray disc with Macs and can not e used on the other model of disc.

You can probably call Apple and order a copy of the original disks

I have a mac pro 3.1. How can I transfer the system to a new and bigger drive? The old drive is much too small.

I'm not familiar with your model computer, but there are several ways to do so.  If the computer can accommodate multiple disks, you can install the new drive next to the former.  If she does not accept another disk, you can in these external adapters for about $30, which allow you to attach a bare drive to a computer with USB.  Then, you clone the internal drive to the new. Cloning is a special form of the copy.  It copies all files including startup system files so that your new drive is essentially identical to the first.

  • Satellite C660 - compatibility between motherboard and hard drive internal

Hi, I have a problem with the compatibility between the internal (1 terabyte) hard drive and installing windows 7 pro.
I broke my old internal hard drive (320 GB) and I bought the new hd (1 tb), but during the installation it says that w7 cannot be installed on this new hard drive.

Can my pc motherboard (serial number: 3B071014k) support the new hard drive (serial number: wd10jpvx)?
and if the answer is 'yes', how can I make it work?

First of all the question has nothing to do with the motherboard and HARD drive compatibility.
If the HARD drive is visible in the BIOS (first page), the HARD drive is supported by the BIOS and HARD disk controller.
In the case where the drive HARD isn't recognized, you will need to replace this HARD drive with another. I guess the smaller size of the 2.5 SATA HDD THAT would be taken in charge (500 GB)

However, in case the HARD disk is visible in the BIOS, you should be able to install Windows 7.
Before starting the installation, you must format the HARD drive and should create the system partition.
For this procedure, I recommend to use some tools such as partitions for example: GParted
GParted is a freeware Linux tool.
You can create a bootable USB key in order to start the device using GParted:
    http://gparted.sourceforge.NET/LiveCD.php

Then, you should be able to format the HARD disk and create partitions.

    Hello.
I am trying to install Windows XP on my G6 Pavilion, because I can't stand Windows 7/8 more, but each time I try, the operating system does not recognize my hard drive. (I don't have blue screen anymore, just doesn't recognize when to list the storage)

I tried many ways... install on my USB on my external hard drive but every time that a mistake came.

Anyway, if anyone of you could help me, that would be fine.

    The information here...

    1.: I tried 32bit_ATI_SB7xx_RAID & AHCI_driver_v9-4_WHQL and sp43839 driver SATA

PS: On the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers list there are only "AMD SATA CONTROLLER", so I took the information from there. There is no Controller AHCI SATA and the only thing he is "AMD SATA CONTROLLER". Hope that's all.

    Other information, just in case:

    HP Pavilion 2203sf G6;

    Windows 7/8 works fine, but I want Windows XP;

    That's all.
Thank you very much for the support.

    Kind regards

    Andi.

    Hi, Andi:

There are only two ways to install sata drivers when using XP... using a floppy drive then select the driver you need, or "slipstreaming" drivers.

Here is the link to find out how to integrate the drivers.  See amd and then read the downloadable PDF for "slipstreaming" all pilots.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

I have attached the XP drivers, you need to use.  They will need to be decompressed.

As you can see on the copy and paste of the setup information file, the hardware ID for the controller sata to your laptop is supported by this driver.

    Hello

I've been away from LabVIEW for awhile (6 years or more) and I have a small task to achieve and am really struggling to start.

I have a USB-6501 DIO and Labview version 8.6.  I need to drive a motor not not that requires 4 input (in my case 2 Port (0 to 3)) and depending on the phase of these 4 signals with respect to the other (its a circuit of H-bridge) the engine to drive forward or backward.

I started with DAQ assistant and I seem to be communicating correctly with the OID and the engine, but I'm not at the stage of being able to produce my 4 signals.  I know that the USB-6501 must be controlled with a timing (as opposed to the generation of a train of function for example).  However I am stuck at start-up my possible solutions seem very long breath that I was wondering if there was a quick and easy solution to produce my 4 signals?  I don't know I'm missing something.

Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated, as I'm very rusty and I have no time my solution.
