use of the temporary table space

Hello

How much space is a specific temporary table used in my current session? How can I learn that.

V$ SORT_USAGE view shows all (sorting and temporary tables). I want to learn a specific temporary table usage percentage. I can see their rank by rank in V$ SORT_USAGE, but which belong to that is, I can not children them.

for the former there are 4 temp table that I used in a session, when I select V$ SORT_USAGE, I see 4 rows (segtype is DATA) but one that is what table?

Edit: I changed the subject because of missunderstandings.

Not Mustafa, Oracle separate temporary segments as wise TWG name. He says just segment total cumulative time used by a user. See below the link where similar questions asked by a user and Tom's answer:

Hi Tom
Just part of my question have already been dealt with where we can estimate the size of a Global
temporary table v$ sort_uage, but what to do if:
1. There is more than 1 TWG under a scheme. Seems v$ sort_usage has no column by which we
can filter our a TWG home.
2. If a TWG either be used multiple users how we all the total size of the TWG.
3. How do we know the total number of lines in the TWG independently of any user who is
storing files in the TWG.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Follow-up November 23, 2011-12:00 Central time zone:

(1) it is not followed nationwide.

(2) you must sum in v$ sort_usage - but please remember, it is information very very very transient, it's roughly in the category 'isn't really tell you anything. "

(3) unless they (sessions) will tell you - you cannot, that no information is not just burned anywhere. Of what possible use would be? It would be transitional (a simple validation and response could change a million). He would not provide any useful information.

I'm very curious about what you would do with this data?

  • What to fill in 'field of the temporary table' for global temporary tables?

    Hello

I use the Data Modeler 4.0.1.836 and everything that I put in the box 'the scope of the table temp' for a global temporary table doesn't seem to affect the DDL script about the ON COMMIT PRESERVE/DELETE the LINES option. The script poster ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS always anything.

Yet, some of my temporary tables must be created as ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS.

Using the Data Modeler wrote about it:

    Scope of the temporary Table:

For a class as a temporary table, you can specify a scope, such as the Dimension or the Session.

Not sure what 'Dimension' has to do with the scope here, but it makes no difference.

I tried to put 'Session', 'Dimension', 'Operation', but no luck. So what is the text for the script generate ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS?

    Thank you

    Hello

The temporary Scope of Table property (on page Types of Classification of the table properties dialog box) is purely documentary.

To set ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS you must expand the browser for the relational model and find the node for the relevant Oracle physical model.  If you develop it you will find an entry there for your Table. Double-click on that to get the physical model properties dialog box for your table, and you will find a "Temporary" facility that has options (Preserve Rows), YES (Delete Rows) YES or no.

  • Ordinary table from the temporary table vs

    Hello
What is the difference between a temporary table and a regular ODI table.

I created a temporary table mapping. Works very well. Now, I added the column in the mapping. To make it work, I have to drop the temporary table that created starting from my previous run or add the column in the temporary table. So I was wondering what is the difference between temp and a regular table in terms of maintenance.

How can I make adding new dynamic columns.

    -app

Just to add to what others have said.

(Temporary interface or yellow Interface) to create (Temp Table or Table Stagging)
    -------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------

This method is used to create a temporary Table or Stagging table so that you can export your data before the load in the main target.
Also its always good practice to create them in the scheme of work (where $ tables are created), except if you required in your database schema.
This interface are marked by yellow color
Also these Interface can be dragged directly into all other Interfaces.

The main reason why they are not removed or delete which is then we cannot call in the following Interface to load the target.

    tables of $
    ------------

Here's the ODI tables it creates before loading the data into the target as ODI works with ELT concept where his charges into a temporary table (C$, I$, $ J etc.). ODI after loading data in these tables $ can do the necessary transformation and finally load into the target table.
Once the loaded data to compeltely there ' won't be any use of these tables so they let down, even if you have not deleted by havingthe option
Delete temporary objects - not in LKM and IKM. Generally used for debugging, but once you have finished debugging, make sure that you return Yes, ODI else will not remove these tables of $.

How can I make adding new dynamic columns.

Although I see no reason to drop the temporary table or tables intermediaries. Its good to drop in the database and run your IKM, but again please find a way to do it using revenge for your reference.

Step 1 - create a copy of your IKM

Step 2 - Add another command called Drop Target Table and use the following code

     Drop table <%=snpRef.getTable("L", "TARG_NAME", "A")%>

Move it before you create the target Table.

Step 3. Added an option - Drop Table target, so that you can specify whether to drop or not. Go on command and option and instead of always run, check the Drop target only Table option.

That way if you do not want to delete the target table, it used to other specify Yes.

    I hope this helps.

  • Campus solution 9.0: engine Application parallel treatment of the Instances of the temporary Table

    People,

Hello. I'm working on 9.0 Solution on a University Campus. I'm working on the module of Community Campus. I face a problem like below:

    Campus Community > personal information > add/update a person

I can type in all the information for a person successfully and save it with success. But what research, it does not return anything to PS user
This is because the security of access to demographic data is not granted to the user. So, I put security as below:

    Step 1:

Set Up AWAR > Security > Secure Student Administration > permissions list > access to demographic data: I have select permission list HCPPALL and EOEI9200 for the PS user

    Step 2:

Set Up SACRED > Security > Secure Student Administration > process > access to demographics: the process to initialize the authorization indicates to the user PS process program is the Application Engine. The process name is MSK_CFG. The process is not successful and returns an error as below:

Table or view does not exist. Has no SQL statement: Truncate Table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO4.

The above error is that of the motor parallel processing Application on instances of the temporary table. There are 2 modes: online and batch. I run it in 2 modes as below:

    Online mode:

Step 1: Navigator PeopleTools > Public Services > Administration > PeopleTools Options: I change 3 to 4 for the Instance of the Temp Table total and online.
Step 2: Create a new control ID Temp1 and execute processes on Navigator SetUp > Security > Secure Student Administration > process > process of demographic data. The MSK_CFG process runs successfully, but the output file contains the message:

ATTENTION: Application request engine is not active! Suspended treatment!

So I run of steps 3, 4 and 5 in Batch mode as below:

Step 3: Navigator PeopleTools > Application Engine > application Application Engine > engine Application request Page > add a new control ID Temp1.
Step 4: Run the MSK_CFG with Temp1 process again and get the error:

Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO5.

Step 5: I change 4 to 5 navigator PeopleTools > Public Services > Administration > page PeopleTools Option for the Instance of the Temp Table total and online.

Re-run the MSK_CFG process and get the error:

Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO6.

I have increase by 5-6 for the temporary Table instance and re-run the MSK_CFG process and get the same error with incremental number:
Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO7.

I have increase by 6 to 7 and re-run the MSK_CFG process and get the same error:
Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO8.

The maximum is 99, I continue to adding 1 to the Temp table instances and run the MSK_CFG process. But get the same error with differentials 1 as below:

Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO9.
Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO10.
    ... ...

Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO99
Table or view does not exist: Truncate table USER.PS_MSK_CFG_TAO.

    My question is:

Because the engine of the application is not active with a new control ID Temp1 in online mode, I add the new control ID Temp1 in the Application engine page request but get the error above.  How to solve the error above to begin the process of MSK_CFG?

    Thanks in advance.

    People,

Hello. The problem is solved by myself.

The thing is that we need to open the MSK_CFG_TAO of the temporary Table in the application designer and build. After construction, the table PS_MSK_CFG_TAO and PS_MSK_CFG_TAO1 come in the database.

MSK_CFG process runs correctly now. Personal information of search returns data successfully. Thank you.

We have a dump expdp of a related development scheme. We had dropped the source DB. Now, we want to create a new scheme in a new DB using this dump. We do not know the storage space used by the schema of the source as this DB does not exist today.

To find the storage space used by the schema of the source, I can go ahead and impdp and cross errors "tablespace does not exist" in the log file impdp (need to do some research on Google to create an awk for this script)
But y at - it another way to determine the storage space used by the schema of the source when the source database no longer exists? We do not have the expdp log file is (currently looking for it)

I see 2 options for you.

    1. run your grep sqlfile import and then that file for the keyword TABLESPACE. This will give you all the tablespaces to be used when ordering import.

    2. start your import but with these:

    keep_master = master_only y = nom_du_travail y = my_master_only

This will load just the main table, and then you can query the master to find storage space. If your dumpfile is important, it can be a lot
faster than sqlfile once the import is complete, do a query like this:

    SQL > connect schema_running_job/password
    SQL > select unique object_tablespace from my_master_only where process_order > 0 and duplicate = 0;
    SQL > select unique object_name from my_master_only where process_order > 0 and duplicate = 0 and object_type = 'TABLESPACE ';

Kids tables are normal tables that have a name containing a point and that inherit the keys to their anchestors. They have disadvantages compared to the record types.

At least the input/output JSON data is not as expected.

    Hello

Child tables exist for two main reasons.

    1. They allow the related data modeling in independent lines, as I mentioned earlier.  In a relational system do you this with another table and a join to get information at the same time.
    2. Data in table, they allow access to the mother and child in an efficient and transactional data.  That you don't get modeling them as independent and make a join.  This is probably the point you've been away.

Popping up a level of abstraction, Oracle DB NoSQL is a sharded system, designed to provide horizontal scaling with consistent performance.  It does this by placing recordings of the pieces separated according to the brightness of the line key.  All lines with the same brightness key are stored in the physical basis and are therefore available in a transactional manner.

In a first level table (i.e. one without a parent) the brightness key is either explicitly set or it is precisely its primary key.  The brightness of a child table key is always key brilliance of its parent.  This means that if you have a table person with a primary key of '1' then all its child table lines who share this part of their primary key (e.g. <"1", "work_address"="">, <"1", "home_address"="">, etc.) are accessible to all, in the same transaction - that works for multiGet and updates, which can be done with lists of TableOperation.

You're trying things with the CLI, which works, but is not the richest way to access the system, and is of course confusing sometimes.

-Child flag you saw in the CLI is not there to specify the relationship between the table of the child, but rather to indicate that you want to get records from this table as well.  For example, if you have a person parent table and child table address and that you only want the parent lines that you do:

    get table - name person

If you want to get the lines both person and address you

get table - name person-child address (or Person.Address, I do not remember offhand)

To do a specific identity, you do

    "get table - name person - child address - json ' {'id': '1'}"

Is - this make more sense?

    Kind regards

    George

  • Calc problem with fact table measure used in the bridge table model

    Hi all

I have problems with the calculation of a measure of table done since I used it as part of a calculation in a bridge table relation.

A table of facts, PROJECT_FACT, I had a column (PROJECT_COST) whose default aggregate is SUM. Whenever PROJECT_COST was used with any dimension, the appropriate aggregation was made at appropriate levels. But, no more. One of the relationships that project_fact is a dimension, called PROJECT.

PROJECT_FACT contains details of employees, and every day they worked on a project. So for one day, employee, Joe, could have a PROJECT_COST $ 80 to 123 project, the next day, Joe might have $40 PROJECT_COST for the same project.

Dimension table, PROJECT, contains details of the project.

A new feature has been added to the software - several customers can now be charged to a PROJECT, where as before, that a single client has been charged.
This fresh percentage collapse is in a new table - PROJECT_BRIDGE. PROJECT_BRIDGE has the project, CUSTOMER_ID, will BILL_PCT. BILL_PCT always add up to 1.

Thus, the bridge table might look like...
    CUSTOMER_ID BILL_PCT PROJECT
    123 100.20
    123 200.30
    123 300.50
    456 400 1.00
    678 400 1.00

Where to project 123, is a breakdown for multiple clients (. 20,.30.50.)

Let's say in PROJECT_FACT, if you had to sum up all the PROJECT_COST for project = 123, you get $1000.

Here are the steps I followed:

    -In the physical layer, PROJECT_FACT has a 1:M with PROJECT_BRIDGE and PROJECT_BRIDGE (a 1:M) PROJECT.
    PROJECT_FACT = > PROJECT_BRIDGE < = PROJECT

-In the logical layer, PROJECT has a 1:M with PROJECT_FACT.
    PROJECT = > PROJECT_FACT

-Logical fact table source is mapped to the bridge table, PROJECT_BRIDGE, so now he has several tables, it is mapped (PROJECT_FACT & PROJECT_BRIDGE). They are defined for an INTERNAL join.
-J' created a measure of calculation, MULT_CUST_COST, using physical columns, which calculates the sum of the PROJECT_COST X the amount of the percentage in the bridge table. It looks like: $ (PROJECT_FACT. PROJECT_COST * PROJECT_BRIDGE. BILL_PCT)
-J' put MULT_CUST_COST in the presentation layer.

We still want the old PROJECT_COST autour until it happened gradually, it is therefore in the presentation layer as well.

Well, I had a request with only project, MULT_CUST_COST (the new calculation) and PROJECT_COST (the original). I expect:

    PROJECT_COST MULT_CUST_COST PROJECT
    123. $1000 $1000

I'm getting this for MULT_CUST_COST, however, for PROJECT_COST, it's triple the value (perhaps because there are quantities of 3 percent?)...

    PROJECT_COST MULT_CUST_COST PROJECT
    123 $1000 (correct) $3000 (incorrect, it's been tripled)

If I had to watch the SQL, you should:
    SELECT SUM (PROJECT_COST),
    SUM (PROJECT_FACT. PROJECT_COST * PROJECT_BRIDGE. BILL_PCT),
    PROJECT
    Of...
    PROJECT GROUP

PROJECT_COST used to work properly at a table of bridge of modeling.
Any ideas on what I got wrong?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Phew, what a long question!

If I understand correctly, I think the problem is with your old measure of cost, or rather that combines with you a new one in the same request. If you think about it, your request as explained above will bring back 3 rows from the database, that's why your old measure of cost is multiplied. I think that if you took it out of the query, your bridge table would work properly for the only new measure?

I would consider the migration of your historical data in the bridge table model so that you have one type of query. For historical data, each would have a single row in the bridge with a 1.0 BILL_PCT.

    Good luck

  • Include a column not used in the Join Tables

    Hi all
I need a temporary xy column in the select list not the tables I used for Assembly.

    As SELECT a.abc, b, def
    Of arety one
    Left outer join
    bgtyu b
    on a.id = b.id

I need an additional column as xy not used from any table

    SELECT a.abc, b.def, xy
    Of arety one
    Left outer join
    bgtyu b
    on a.id = b.id

    Hello

    Try,

    SELECT a.abc,b.def, 'xy' TEMP_COL
    FROM arety a
    Left outer join
    bgtyu b
    on a.id=b.id

In any case, what is the use of this? Can you explain your real need?

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

    Manu.
