used to install FlipShare - tried almost all the answers!

FlipShare will not install on my Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.  I've never had a problem installing things before or recently so of course I knew that the Flip to be the problem.  As almost expected, their tech support blamed others before them...

I'm trying so nix on the possibilities.  I went to HP and done what they have proposed without success.  So here is my stop at Microsoft.

Here's what I've done so far:

  • Ran as administrator
  • Tried to download the 4.5 installer - I tried three files and all said that they were not necessary.
  • UN - and re - Registered Windows Installer
  • Changed the installer to manual from automatic to manual and so on and so on (it is in automatic mode right now)
  • Ran in safe mode, the Setup program stops when I do, so the installation does not start even.
  • Run Setup with the Flip camera AND the upgrade of software off of the Flip tech site

Right now I'm downloading all the videos on my computer because I can play mp4 files, but I want to use the dang software, given that I have seen my friend uses the other night for a show.

Additional advice would be great please! I want just nix on any other possibilities and if none does not work so I can go back to flip technical support with ammunition more!

edit: I also searched Windows Installer in my Start menu, and he has popped up: jre1.6.0_12, who has been "modified" on March 6, 2009.  I don't know more than that, of course, it was a year ago... but as I said I have a problem installing things since.  When I try to install it, it stops and says: this installation package could not be opened.  Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

I would have no problem because... If I knew which product identifier key thingy I need to put in the box so I don't get charged for help...

You will not be able to install whatever it is in Mode safe as the Windows Installer Service is not running in Mode safe (many Services do not work there either).  If the "Flippin" program uses the Windows Installer Service that could explain this problem?  Individual configurations which are contained and not dependent on Windows do not install install mode failure.

Similarly jre1.6.0_12 is probably an install Java looking just threw up on you, it's nothing to do with Windows Installer.

What have you done to try to repair Windows Installer with, I have none of these files listed in the file install Vista or Windows 7?  If you want to repair the operating system it might pay you to run the File Checker system, which hopefully should check the installer of Windows and all other system files.

The only thing that will satisfy Flipshare support may be if you save your valuable data and then restore your machine via a recovery procedure on a day of factory?  If you don't have that you would have to try flipshare as first tier cabin.  Even then they might not come again in the party.

To check the Windows Installer at the moment, try and uninstall a program without importance of programs and features, and then try to reinstall, if she comes out and goes then that tend to support that Windows Installer is alive and well.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click on your drive icon / properties / tools / error checking.  Try first by checking do not each box (that it will run in read-only mode) to see if it reports any problems file or hard drive.  If so, restart it by checking both boxes and restart to allow him to attempt to fix any problems found.

Have you tried to clean your Temp folder, you can do this by typing folder in the Start Menu RUN box.  This will open your Temp folder, there, you can remove all Windows will allow you to do.  It may be necessary to show both hidden and system files and also uncheck 'Hide known file types' in Control Panel / folder Options / view, navigate to the location manually and see all the files and extensions when you arrive.

Take a look at access and permissions of security on your computer.

I have a BIG problem with my computer. It starts more than a week, and since then, I tried to fix it. The problem is that almost all the programs I use takes up 100% of my CPU usage. The only thing that aren't the window program, but they also take a lot of the CPU usage. It is not the usual 1-3 dry of high CPU usage using all programs. It's the high utilization of the processor for a long period of time. A Youtube video causes my CPU to go to 100% just by playing. Also, scans, surf the Web and things escalate. My computer is running very slowly because of this. It is about 2 - 3 times slower. It's strange because my computer would be rarely more than 60% for more than 5 seconds. The amount of memory of my programs are not unusual. It's just that the CPU part is medium to high. I am not able to play a game and open a web browser without massive lag on these two programs. I've done everything I can. I did a restore for one day before it happened, and it did not work. I'm looking for viruses with McAfee Microsoft essentials and Ad-ware antivirus and removed all threats. I clean my computer with CCleaner and Advanced system of care. I scanned for spyware with spybot S & D, Superantispyware. I checked for maleware with Malewarebytes. But the problem is not resolved. I really need help. • Messages arrive, but the "Inbox" or any other folder open even if the content still there (and almost all the menu items do not work)!

Using last Thunderbird on Windows 7. Had problems with the operating system and had to use a system restore. When I opened TB, it displays the folders in the left pane, but the credits of "Thunderbird Mail-...» "and the 3 topics: E-mail; Accounts; and advanced features. None of the files would open. I used the "Search messages" function and has been able to show existing and new messages in the 'Inbox '. Also wanted to know if files are always in my 'profile'... and they were all there where they should be. (And almost all the menu items are disabled).
I wonder if I need to reinstall Thunderbird... maybe the OS issues this morning - and restore - have corrupted or damaged key elements of the program?
    Thank you...

System Restore is not always a very good thing for applications.

Reinstall is unlikely to help. But if your accounts are all imap and that you do not have a lot of other data (address book, for example) in Thunderbird, you could start from scratch.

But before that, you should try Thunderbird started in SafeMode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

When you download the zip file there are two files it contains. There is nothing else than a readme.txt file. Read me text are text documents that contain instructions.

I tested the script vbs on my test computer running Windows Xp sp3. Basically everything that is needed is to unpack the file you downloaded, extract the files to your desktop. There should be two files. A single file is the vbs script and the other, as mentioned before is readme.txt. The only file you need to be concerned with is the vbs script. You can ignore or delete the readme.txt file.

Click HERE to download the zip file. Save the file to your desktop. Click the zip folder, extract the contents to your desktop.

Right click on the vbs script file and choose open with command prompt. Command prompt should open the script running then close without prompting. Once the script has completed, two registry files will appear on your desktop.

These files are backups of the registry keys that are your keyboard layout settings. These keys have been altered by the script to allow the update to install. Do nothing with the reg keys for now.

After the script is run and the reg keys appearing on your desktop, restart your computer. Once Windows has loaded click HERE. Download the KB2686509 update and install it. Once the update has installed right click on each of the registry keys (one at a time of course) and choose "merge". Confirm all the guests to merge the keys to your registry database. This resets your keyboard settings to the way you had before the update.

  • Problems - leaving behind (almost all) the uninstall files. [Windows 7 64-Bit]

    Hi all

I had some real problems with my programs Adobe CC do not update - despite the CC itself program update I received countless errors to U44M1P7. Ultimately I decided that the best practice would be to completely remove everything and start again - so I started on that!

As a result of what I believe, this is the correct procedure, the first step, I took (after backing up everything that I need of course) had to go to "Programs and features" in the Panel (I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) and go through each Adobe application and uninstall it. So I went through, 1 by 1, uninstall, making sure to select "delete preferences" anywhere where I could. The installers would do their thing and applications disappeared from my program list. I'm left with now is consistent with "Adobe Flash Player 19 Active X", and "Adobe Flash Player Plugin 13" (I don't think they are part of the creative cloud).

In any case, after you have uninstalled all, I rebooted my system, ready to run the Adobe CC cleaner. On reboot I have communicated that uninstalling programs have made what seems to be almost nothing - almost all records for nominations are still on my hard drive, have shortcuts in the Start Menu and take a lot of hard disk space - infact I can still run all the applications that I have tried! Only the main actors who seems to actually have disappeared are Acrobat Pro and creative cloud application itself.

I ran CC cleaner-who reports that she did good work, but of course, everything is still there - the only thing that is actually went is the entries for the applications in the list of "programs and features" in Control Panel - is not as if I can try to restart the uninstall programs.

Anyone got tips on what to do next? I had a browse other subjects and you have failed to find anything, my apologies if I missed something on this, but I'm more frustrated. I really want to avoid doing a reformat on this system as well - there a lot of other software running and a reformat will just be a nightmare for me at the moment.

    Thanks in advance!

Replying to my own son. Finally managed to get somewhere with Adobe LiveChat and they have recommended that what I suspected, remove all manually.

    In case anyone else has this problem;

1 al 'hit explore' organize > folder and ' Options search, then on the 'View' tab uncheck 'Use sharing Wizard' from the bottom (not sure what that's all) and then check "Show hidden files and folders", if it isn't already.

    2 remove the following folders;

    a. program Files > Adobe

    b. program Files (x 86) > Adobe

    c. ProgramData > Adobe

    d. users > [Username] > AppData > Local > Adobe

    e. users > [Username] > AppData > LocalLow > Adobe

    f. users > [Username] > AppData > Roaming > Adobe

    3. run the Adobe cleaner again. Clear all entries of creative cloud & CS6.

    4. restart the system and reinstall creative cloud and Applications.

I started the resettlement process and everything seems OK so far! Fingers crossed things will be fine from here.

  • I can't uninstall Click-to-Run 2010... I tried following all the instructions. Someone had this problem? Help

I bought this mobile last summer.  It came with Microsoft Office Starter.  I used it for about 9 months. and then I could not open all the files.  I've tried everything, and most say uninstall Microsoft Click-to-Run, but it won't.  I can't go to my files.  So, I bought Microsoft Office 2010 and it does not open.  It says click to run failed or Microsoft can not open the program.  Help, someone, please.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode.  Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.  Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem.  To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore.  Click on the box that says show more restore points.
    -
You can check the corrupted system files.  Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE, then click on run as administrator. Then from the command prompt, type sfc/scannow.
    -
Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log.  To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools.  Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.
    `
When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and it puts regular periodic updates.
