user accounts protect not

Dear Sir.

XP Service Pack 3 is used by me. I created two user account + an administrator account (total 3 a/c).

These accounts are protected by Word.

I start the system when the system boots directly without asking for password.

That I disconnect the system when it is asked to each password.

I want the user password protection when the system startup is not directly open.

Thank you

Jayesh Soni

Normally autologon will not work if there is more than one user.
Maybe this has been allowed to the Powertoy "TweakUI".
If you don't have this program in your computer, download it from the following site and run:

TweakUI: <> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp >

After you have installed and running, click on the '+' in front of 'Connection' and select 'automatic connection '.
Then in the right-hafl screen, uncheck "automatically connect...". ».
"OK" your way out.

As I understood it, you experience the problem, you cannot change the automatic updates even if you are logged on as an administrator user account. The option is grayed out on the system.

  • Address bar works on a user account and not on the other

    Hello

I searched on through so many forums to find an answer to my problem - it is perhaps quite unique.

A year ago, stopped my firefox address bar AutoComplete works not at all. I have the latest version and I tried all the stuff around dumping cache etc. Anyway, I got a new Mac yesterday and I opened Firefox and everything worked as it should - great.

However, I moved all my files/settings/applications etc in front of my ole mac via migration assistant and now firefox is not working properly on this user account. So, I have two user accounts on the same mac, both running the same software applications. The user account with all the old files etc is that I want to continue to use, but Firefox will not properly work on this subject.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, updated, deleted version cache... all I can think.

I'm sick of Chrome crashing on me.

    Can anyone help?

This may be a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • After 10.11.3 updated, user account does not load

I was previously running 10.11.2 on my iMac mid-2011 (32 GB of RAM, 1 TB Samsung EVO SSD) and just ran the update to 10.11.3. To restart, I noticed that my system has remained to a black screen but showed the mouse cursor and I could move around, but the system was insensitive to the keyboard. I made a stop hard and under voltage after 10 seconds. The system started an on-screen connection and when I tried to log in, the system just hung with the loading gear runs for about 5 minutes. I gave up and made another hard stop and this time started in safe mode. While in SafeMode my account main would not load again, I made a hard stop and tried another account - success. So now that I know that there is something to the top with my user account, I tried to boot normally in other accounts - success.

At this point, I'll try disk warrior to see if it will fix all problems running. I would run Onyx but the download comes of this order. If anyone has any experience with this update to sabotage their user account, please let me know.

DiskWarrior has not helped and not more than Onyx.

  • Why: print from a user account, but not the other?

On a computer, we have two user account: an admin mastering (Bev), the other without (BevsGuest).  Note that this is not 'the' guest account.

We have no printing problem on behalf of Bev.  But we cannot print from the BevsGuest account.  Sorry, but I forgot the error message we get.  But we receive the error of several applications - Excel, Word, Google Maps, etc.

This who should I seek to explain the problem?

I'm sure that's enough information for someone to propose a specific solution.  And I cannot possibly answer follow-up questions because I'm away from the computer at 400 miles at present.

I'm looking for simply advice.  I'm not familiar enough with the Windows o/s to find out how this could happen.

My WAG is: it's a permissions problem.  But if this is the case, I don't know where to look for the permissions property, which may be the cause of root, let alone how to fix it.

The problem started a few times in a few months; He worked many years.  I can't say exactly when the problem started, or what has changed in the meantime, because: (1) I use the computer only every few months. and (2) someone else maintains the computer, for example to install Windows updates.  Not to say that this person could have; but usually it is very minimal.

The computer is located in a private residence, not not part of a corporate network.  Is there any other computers.  The printer is wired, not wireless.

I could try to roll back to a system restore point.  But it would be a shot in the water, and I'd rather make minimal changes.

    Hello

    ·         Who is the manufacturer of the printer and what is the model?

I suggest to create a new user account and check if you are able to print from this account or not.

My laptop Windows xp has three user accounts.  The main account I use is no longer allows me to sign.  When I click on the name, enter my password, I get a screen with only my white wallpaper - no icons, no toolbar at the bottom.  Nothing.

    Any ideas?

Don't you see the same behavior with other accounts?

Here is some information General/ideas for you to check, see if this is your problem and if this is the case, we'll fix it.

You see only your background image and the wallpaper?

Miss all your desktop icons and you don't see the taskbar at the bottom of the screen or are simply missing icons and you can see the taskbar at the bottom?

Check the simple things first.  Right-click on an open space on your desktop, choose Arrange icons by and make sure the option show desktop icons has a check mark next to it.  This will work if you don't miss you that the desktop icons, but still see the Start button and the taskbar.

If only you can see your wallpaper background picture and don't see the desktop icons and no start button or taskbar, this means that the explorer.exe program does not run (and it must be running) or the explorer.exe program are usually afflicted.  A good way to think about at the moment, it is that the process explorer.exe "is" your desktop.

If this is the case of malware in general prepares.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Fill in the blank: my system worked well until: _

Sometimes your anti malware program to quarantine (and indeed remove) your file explorer.exe (or other critical files on the XP system) if it finds that the file is infected.  The file may really be infected, but you can know for sure and then reconsider your anti malware options.

First, you need to get your work desk, then you can solve your problem of potential malware.

Of your background image, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager.

Look at the processes tab and if the process explorer.exe is not running, start it as follows:

In Task Manager, click file, new task, and in the Open box, enter:

    %windir%\explorer.exe

Click OK and see if get you your office.

If explorer.exe is already running in the processes tab, it is likely that the object of the affection and will need to be replaced (which is not difficult).

If you notice that the explorer.exe process is already running in the Task Manager, highlight the explorer.exe process, and then click end process to stop and start a new explorer.exe process as described above.

If things look right now, your system is still not fixed, but it should be enough usable so now you can fix it.

  • User accounts does not initially and windows to remember password for account (evil)

    Hello

Thanks for any help in advance.

TLDR: Windows trying to connect in user 1 with the old password and does not give me the option to connect user 2

I'm trying to set up a new account for my roommate to use. It's something I've done many times before and never had a problem with.

This time, however it is causing me pain.

First off I created a new user account (user 2) gave him a password and him give a normal user account (not admin). I also changed the password on my account (user 1) which is an administrator account.

Now when I restarted my computer I expected to go to the login screen and give me two options (user 1 and user 2) that would require a password. I should mention here that before that I created the 2 user I've ever seen the login screen as it starts directly on my desk.

What is happening at startup, it is just after windows logo I get the message "the password is incorrect" (on the lines in any case).

When I confirm this message I show the log on screen but it only shows the user accounts 1 and 'others '.

I can enter the new password for the user 1 at this stage and connect fine, I can also go the "other accounts" and enter credentials user 2 and connect fine but on reboot, I get again the opinion of incorrect password and user 2 is not always displayed on the login screen.

The incorrect password, he speaks is the old password for user 1, but I'm not enter, it of like windows remembered the old password and trying to enter to connect directly to user 1 with it.

I tried to do admin user 2 also, but no difference is made.

If someone has an idea, they would be much appreciated,

    Thank you.

What is happening at startup, it is just after windows logo I get the message "the password is incorrect" (on the lines in any case).

This happens because someone has configured your machine some time ago to connect automatically. You can adjust the process according to your needs:

    1. press Windows + R key on your keyboard.
    2. Enter the following command and press ENTER:
    netplwiz
    3. check the box that requires users to enter a password.
    4. click on OK.
