  I ve bought a new laptop Pavilion DV6-6031eo 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine until today.

  The question:

  When I turn on the laptop, it starts as usual and the system works perfectly, but the screen is black, so I can´t use it, unless you use another monitor, think I Don t want to. I think it has something to do with the backlight, or perhaps the retroeclairages cable routes.
  HP logo at the back of my screen used to light up when I turned on my laptop, but now it s too messed up.

  I ve sent an email to HP TotalCare, since I got my warranty (lasts 1 year) and I would like to know if they will cover it.

  But again Blue Screen and BIOS saying 6144 MB

   

  What is the problem?

  I can't find any specs on that you bought it from memory.

  Your PC will run from 8 GB of memory, but you must be careful as to what memory you select.

  You must get the PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) memory and it must be of low density.

  You can't get PC3-10660 or PC3-10666 memory and cheap will be high density and will not work in any case in your laptop.

  I think you bought PC3-12800 memory and this is probably the high density - two bad things.

  I realized that the problem was my lcd screen. If you have the same problem as me just get another lcd screen and see if it works.

  * Scenario1 * if you press the button to turn on the computer and it does nothing (no light, no sound, no picture on screen) that sound like a hardware problem and is less likely to be caused by Windows 10.

  * scenario2 * if you press the power button, the computer starts (it has little light on the screen) but the screen is black and white (but working) happened after Windows upgrade 10, then it's software caused by the bad update of the new operating system (defective or full).

  If the problem is as scenario 2, I guess you can use the built in the recovery of the computer partition so that you restore the computer and Windows if you default factory and get back to work. Information and instructions here:

  The other day, I turned on my laptop and walked for 10-15 minutes. Then I went to find my cell phone had not started correctly and was rather come with a black screen displaying "check disk for errors. It could take more than an hour. "So I left it sitting there turned on and plugged in for about 5 hours, and the message remained on the screen. I tried to reinstall Windows 8 via disk and hard drive, and it could not be loaded. I also tried hard reset my laptop, whereby the same message appeared after I switched back on it.   I have a dv6-6135dx which is a little more than two years. I left work the download last night and this morning the screen was blank and caps lock flashing. I have searched blink codes, but couldn't find a list of codes flashing for this exact model.

  Caps lock flashes two times between pauses. The sequence continues indefinitely.

  No idea what the problem is and how much is it to fix? If I choose to go with a new laptop, I can connect my hard drive to another computer and retrieve the data?

  I guess the verdict is that it was of 3 flashes. Tried various combinations moving around the RAM and it started. It seems that the stick of 2GB (or the port that it is) is bad. He's back running. Thank you for your help.
