Using configured WiFi Officejet Pro 8600 in a location no-wifi via USB

My Officejet Pro 8600 is used at home via WiFi.

I want to take the printer to a location which does not have WiFi and print via the USB port.

The installation disc (v28.8) has mutually exclusive options when you run Setup.exe,

for the WiFi, or USB / Ethernet.  How to install a printer driver for printing via

USB, while keeping the WiFi driver installed?

OK I see that now when printing there is selections for 'HP Officejet Pro 8600' and

"HP Officejet Pro 8600 (network)".  I have not seen in a first time.  Problem solved.

Hi @Mizia , welcome to the HP Forums there!

I saw your post on your Officejet 8600 more disconnect it from your wireless network, and I hope to help. I have some suggestions for you to try below which might help to restore the connection between the two.

    Try power cycling network devices:
Turn off the printer and the computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press the buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, turn on the printer and the computer.

Try the procedure described in this document:

HP Officejet Pro 251dw, 276dw and 8600 Printer Series - printer keeps no connection Wi - Fi

I hope that the connection is when you have completed the steps above. If there are any problems, please let me know the details and also include with which operating system you use on your computer.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium: When copying from the plateau the copier will print only 1/8 of page, then stop.

Copier is towards the top sometimes & don't print that page of bucket 1/8, Athens he spits as if this one ends. Have unplugged the power cord & reconnected. Ran scans printhead & alignment. Off all night. All the ink levels are good. Still has not corrected it.

Print an entire page of the screen of the computer without problem. Printing problem just go flat.

    Hi @Wendy-needshelp,.

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your problem copying.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one with a computer and Windows 7 when you copy from sometimes flat it will only copy and print 1/8 of the page. I would like to help.

You mentioned having unplugged and replugged the power cord. This is something that could be done. If you can, I reset the power and try to connect the printer directly to a wall outlet, if you currently use a protector or electrical surge extention. Sometimes the surge protectors can limit the amout of the power supplied to the printer.

There was an update firmware released in April, which can help your printer. You can download the update of the firmware and run it from your computer to install it on the printer. You can go to the HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware download page by clicking here.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

Indeed, if this help you to achieve a solution please click the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - Duplex printing problem

I use a printer Officejet Pro 8600 Plus (what is the best printer I've ever had, apart from this problem!).  I use it with Windows 8.1.

He struggles for more than a few pages print using duplex.  The problem seems to get worse when I print a pdf file.  It starts to print very well and made a few pages, but then I get this message "error on HP Officejet Pro 8600.  "Could not print * name * folder.  It appears on the computer not the printer.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hey there @operationorphan

I just wanted to add my own suggestions here for the issue of two-sided printing that you had with your Officejet 8600.

You can try to update the firmware: get the latest Firmware and updates

If this does not help, try to uninstall the printer software , reboot the PC and reinstall the printer. This should dissipate all software problems.

    I hope that helps!

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

Text & images on lower 1/3 of the pages do not print on my 8600. I believe that I have updated the printer drivers and my laptop HP dv7 Envy.  I think I checked all the settings - however, the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey @gmi7envy,

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

I see you have a partial page printing problem when you use your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer. I want to help you with this. I have some suggestions that might help.

I think it is a problem of software, but just in case, try to make a copy of the façade - if printing result is normal appearance, fine. If this is not the case, click here to access hardware troubleshooting tips from HP.

Assuming you were able to make a decent copy of the façade, we will assume that your printing problems are focused on software. Accordingly, I recommend you try the following steps:

    Uninstall your printer

    • Press the Windows key + r
    • Type of control panel and press enter
    • Click on programs and features
    • Select the driver for your printer from the list, and then click on uninstall.

Remove temporary files from your PC:

    • Press the Windows key + r
    • Type %temp%, and then press enter
    • Press Ctrl + a to select all files
    • Press Delete
    • Note that some files do not delete - do not worry, this is normal. Simply click ignore that you're prompted.
    • Empty your trash at the end.

    Download the printer Installation Wizard

Click here to install the HP printer install wizard (instead of directly using the printer driver). When you run it, this utility will facilitate what I hope it's a smoother and more efficient printer installation.

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and clicking 'resolved' (this will help others find the solution).

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

    Have a great day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: software the Printer Wizard does nothing and eats CPU

    Hello

I currently have a problem with the HP printer Assistant software. I use a HP Officejet Pro 8600. Well I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, redownloaded the latest version of the software from the HP site, tried with a wireless connection and a USB connection, but still have this same problem.

The problem is when I open the printer to the printer Assistant software (scan, definition of printing preferences, etc.) nothing loads and what I noticed is that in the Task Manager, the program is constantly, nonstop to duplicate in the Task Manager and eventually slow down the computer because of the high use of the processor of these duplicates. I can't stop these processes in time compared to the amount of tasks in doubles at this very moment, and the only way to stop it is to restart the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8.1 and so I've upgraded to Windows 10 but exactly the same problem occurs. If I wait long if I get an error (0xc0000142) telling me that I can not load the Printer Wizard, but the process will still duplicate.

I tried using the printer with other computers, but they do not have a problem by launching the wizard from the printer. I wonder what is happening and why is the Printer Wizard launch multiple neverending himself as tasks on the Task Manager?

Add to that, printing works fine, it is train to launch the Printing Assistant software that is causing the problem.

  • cant WiFi connection HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer to internet

I can't get WiFi HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer connect to internet... at least I think that's the problem. I followed all the instructions on the HP print and Scan doctor as well as solve problems of failure to install HP. My router is working fine for everything else and I entered the router the static address for the printer.  It seems that my printer thinks it's connected to my WiFi (Ihave WPS it several times), but when I type there nothing appears in my IE IP address. My router does not see the printer either. I have the latest driver installed on my computer. I suspect that this may be a router problem: new Asus Double 450 Mbps N Router router (dual - band, but it appears my router uses the 2.4 Hz band to connect with WPS). Windows 7 64.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello NRHII,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to connect the Officejet 8600 via a wireless connection. I will do my best to help you! I would recommend power cycling the router, the printer and the computer:

    (1) turn off your printer
    (2) unplug the power cord at the back of the router
    (3) restart your computer
    (4) wait less than 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord to the router
    (5) turn the printer, wait for the computer to turn on

The wireless light blinking on your printer? If so, please reconnect the wireless on your printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard: (this information is declared here.)

    1. On the touch screen of the printer, press the right arrow key ( ) to display the second navigation screen.
    2. Tap the Installer icon ( ).
    3. Tap network , tap the wireless configuration wizard , and then press continue . The printer looking for available networks.
    4. Tap the name of your network and then press OK .
    5. If you are prompted, enter the password for the network, and then press OK . The printer connects to the network.
  • "Scan To E-mail" configuration on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g

It's the same problem reported by several other users of this forum to which no solution has been provided.

I was not successful to set up the scan e-mail option for a HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g bought 12 August 2012 and using CLP1CN1150CR firmware.

I'm trying to do through the interface of the Web server built into the printer from an iMac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the 5.8.0 HP utility.  More specifically the page under 'outgoing Scan-> Scan to E-mail-> e-mail profiles.

I tried 2 SMTP from different servers, each one works well to send the email from the computer: Apple iCloud mail service (formerly Mobile Me, formerly known as.) Mac) and AT & T Net messaging service.  I checked the server name, port number, and authentication login and password were all correct.

When scanning to email serves as the printer, I get an error message: unable to connect to the server.  Check the address and the name of the server.

During a test of the computer when configuring a profile of outgoing mail, I get an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message. (EmailAccounts-timeout).

When I try to configure the page under "Settings-> E-mail Alerts-> mail server" and use exactly the same values as those in the e-mail profile out above, registration and Test option fails with an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message.

Oddly enough, I am able to use the client to the computer with the option scan to the computer-> e-mail in PDF format or by e-mail in JPEG format.  With this option, the file is scanned and added as an attachment to an e-mail message from the Mail in Mac OS X client.  The e-mail message is sent via SMTP server even when I press the button send.

All the error messages seem to indicate that the client software of electronic mail of the printer is unable to establish a connection to the SMTP server.  However, it is unclear what configuration setting is one that could be the cause of the problem.

After further research, I noticed that there is another default possible values of port Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP):

    • Port 25 is the standard SMTP port number.
    • Port 465 is the number of SMTP over SSL, Secure SMTP (SSMTP) port.
    • Port 587 corresponds to the port number dedicated for a presentation Mail (MSA) Agent that uses a variant of SMTP, as specified in RFC 6409, which requires that clients are authorized and authenticated to use the filing of mail service.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium: OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium - cannot use Gigabit Wireless N

My OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium only connect to my router using Wireless G even though my router is capable of Wireless-N. I connect 2.4 GHz, and all my other devices connect to my router using Wireless N without problem. This printer's specifications indicate that it is able to use N Wireless 2.4 GHz. How can I get the printer to connect to my router using Wireless N? Thank you!

Reset the printer to the default network. Reset your router failing factory. Reconfigure your router back to your configuration. Now try to connect using WA2 - AES encryption to your SSID.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 no possibility to configure the Port

My OS is Win 8.1 (last version), latest version of the printer driver, last wizard to install printers used.

My first printer "HP Officejet Pro 8600" folling down on the issue of the screen. I'm doing a swap with the same model, I have to uninstall and reinstall the full with Wizard, now I have some difficulties to recognize the printer.

    -Shortly, no communication!

-A few times, printing find after printer communication error.

If I go to "Properties/Port/port" I got "Error Message.

    > An error occurred during port configuration.

    > The file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Could be a former key stay in the registry (with the old link to the printer)

I have to uninstall and reinstall the wizard fuul without success.

Now the analysis feature does not run and printing run with delay.

    Major Remarq:

I have no problem with MAC OS 9.x to 10.10.1

Thank you very much in advance for your support

    Hello

The port must not be changed that way but through the HP software, it is managed by the software and such a mistake is planned during the attempt to change the port...

Try opening the HP Officejet Pro 8600 software, and then click the Utilities.

Click Update IP address and type the IP address of the printer, which can be found by clicking on the icon wireless/network at the top of the Panel before you the printer.

Click on save and confirm, then close and reropen the HP software,.

What happens when you try to scan now?

It'll work, or is there a specific error or behavior?

As well try now the doctor of printing & scanning HP, it is listed under the Utilties batn so, follow the steps on the screen by selecting the difficulty of analysis and let me know the results if you are still having problems.

  • Single line vertical when using the ADF to Scan or copy on HP Officejet Pro 8600

Printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium (CN577A)

    OS: MS 7 64-bit

When you use the ADF for my printer HP CN577A Officejet Pro 8600 Premium, I get a single vertical line on the document which is produced. This occurs when copying or scanning, both black and white and in color. If I scan or copy using the glass, I do not get the vertical line.

I already tried troubleshooting.  I unplugged the printer, left without electricity for several minutes; that didn't fix the problem.  Then, I cleaned the rollers and glass; I always get the vertical line, but only when using the ADF.

My firmware version is up to date (CLP1CN1150CR).

    What should I check next?

The only difference between the ADF and scanning flat, from a point of view of the scanner is there on the glass, it happens.  I suggest you get a bright flashlight and examine the corresponsing area hence is the line, it's almost certainly a spot on the strip of thin glass which is being just in the right place.

I've seen some people suggest that put a flashlight almost parallel to the Strip, it shines from the bottom can highlight the area problem.
