  A week ago I noticed that the analyses using the ADF put a black line about an inch from the right edge of the page.  This will not occur during the analysis of flat glass; only when you use the ADF.  I checked the glass and paper tray are clean and free of debris.  I wish that it there a way to display an image of what I'm talking about.

  The line is about the thickness of a vertical margin of Notepad and gray line.

  I'm trying to set up the scan to E-mail for an Officejet Pro 8600. In SAP, I configured the mail server correctly (received confirmation by e-mail). In other posts I found that I need to put in place the profile of outgoing e-mail through the tab on the built-in Web server, but it is not option, nor is it a deposit Email section.

  Also, when I use the HP (on Mac OS Lion) utility and click on the Scan to e-mail setting, I get the Scan start setting Email button. This brings me to the SAP, but the page does not load correctly: there is no instruction whatsoever.

  Someone at - it no clues?

  Ignore that - I realized that the 8600 Pro does not support this feature... only the 8600 ProPlus made.

  Follow these steps to map the card reader

  1. Insert the memory card into the printer
  2. open my computer
  3. click on network drive mapping
  4 Select the letter of the drive you want and enter the folder \\192.168.0.111\memory_card
  5. click on finish, and the Player opens for access to the files

• Impossible to activate print them to the use of the computer iMac 10.8.5 and HP Officejet Pro 8600... HELP!

  No matter what I tried, download the latest software updates, with the iMac, router, printer and turned off, I can not activate the computer option analysis I can print, copy but when I try and scan to the computer it tells me to activate the option "scan to computer" via the HP utility. This gives me just an error message saying that it cannot communicate with the printer and check the cables... doh... !!

  If anyone can help me before I throw everything out the window would be more useful...

  This 8600 is a new printer. My old 6700 was fine before he died after 1 year... !!

  I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems scanning with your new 8600 Officejet and your iMac.

  I have included a document with measures to correct connection errors when you try to scan for detailed troubleshooting. Please choose your operating system (Mac OS X 10.8) and if you have a USB or network connection.

  # You can have USB and wired, or USB and wireless.  You can not have wired and wireless at the same time.   As soon as the Ethernet cable is connected wireless is disconnected automatically.

  I see that you have found one black vertical line when using the ADF. With a few steps, we should be able to solve this problem.

  Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

• OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 leaves black lines on docs scanned when using the document feeder

  This is the second HP Officejet Pro 8600 I had - one was replaced by HP, after that the same issue arose.  I tried to clean the entire unit, but we still get a thin black line running vertically down the page.  This line is divided into sections of 1 "and 2.5" in length.  Sometimes I get the fine line and then almost a shadow line that is parallel.

  Any suggestions would be very appreciated I have scan documents to PDF format and it's hassle to put everyone on the flat for scanning.  I use the charger of the doc on a daily basis and wonder if this could have something to do with the lines.

  The question is a spec on thin (~ 1 "wide) glass to the left of the main bed scanner.  Clean this area as described in this document.  It can be difficult to see the affected area, a bright flashlight which is held at an angle to the glass can help find the place.  Even a very small spec on the glass can cause a black line when using the ADF.

  I'm sorry to learn that when you scan from your ADF file, you see a line on your document. This is usually fixed by clean under the scanner, however there could be other causes.   I have 64-bit Windows 8.1.   I installed Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one-made N-911 using OJ8600 - 1315.exe.   The printer and the software worked fine in Windows 7.   Windows 8.1, the printer works well wirlessly.   It prints, scans, and copies without problem.   I can use the printer window to start scanning and copying.   However, I have an icon on the 8.1 Windows Start Page that says Officejet Pro 8600.   When I click it, it opens a window labled HPSolutionsPortal.hta - Microsoft Visual Studio.  I don't get the Officejet software where I can control the resolution of the scans and files generated by the printer.   How can I access the HP Officejet Pro software?

  From the control panel select programs, then select default programs.

  Click associate a file or Protocol to a specific product type.

  Locate the prefix .hta , double click on it, click More Options and select the Microsoft (R) HTML Application Host instead of the selected Visual Studio.

  If you can not find this option in the list of scrool to the end and click on watch for another file on your PC.

  Navigate and select C:\windows\system32\mshta.exe.

  Confirm the changes and check for the difference.

  If you see yet another type of error, install the hotfix by following the steps for Windows 8 below:

  HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer-N911a, XP operating system. It's all new today and I'm very aware of this new stuff. (I'm older)

  My old Scanner from HP (HP Scanjet G 4010) let me resize my photos or obituaries that I put in a genealogy program. When you try to analyze recent articles in my program, in that I have a small image to the left of the page with the rest of a page 8 x 11 white.

  Is it possible to implement on this 8600 or am I missing something?  Any help or ideas appreciated.

How did you install the software for your computer that is running Windows XP? How do you scan, you scan the front of the printer, or you use the HP software on the computer?

  What is the "Maximum paper weight" represented for a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium model #CN577A"?

  New printer for us and I can't find the maximum weight of the paper in the instructions, plug - both in the manual or online or other sources.

  I spent more than 45-minute wait for the conversation online tech support (estimated time was listed as 7 minutes when I plugged) and abandoned.

  In our old printer (HP Business Inkjet 1200n), we could use up to 100 lb Bond (8.5 x 11 office paper).

• HP 8600 Pro - default is Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8600, how can I change the ordinary printer

  Running Win 8.  Under control panel, the print device only shown is Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8600.  In specific applications, I choose the HP Officejet Pro 8600 in the drop down menu, but this option in not avialable in the control panel to make the printer regularly by default.

  I hope I am explaining that properly.

  When you right-click on the Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8600 icon and browse to set a default done it gives the choice, if not
  Click on the printer icon and look for the properties of the server printer on the top of the page to go to tab drivers and check if it shows you only officejet Pro listed twice a 8600 8600 series and the other as a Fax.

  If you see the two that could be the problem of installation does not complete successfully. I would uninstall from Add/Remove programs to remove the entry from the server properties and install the lates SW of the website the link is below

  I can't find any place to enable printing of the confirmation by fax to the wide page.

  There was a suggestion to go to Fax reports, but I don't have a Fax reports page. Fax just history, and there is no option for the confirmation of the turn off.

  The option for fax reports are in the configuration menu of the printer.  I'll give you the steps below to access this feature.

  • Since the premium 8600 home screen, press the RIGHT ARROW
  • Select the installation program on the screen
  • Select reports from the list (maybe scroll on the screen)
  • Select Fax reports out of the list that appears
  • Select Fax of Confirmation and turn it off
