• Printing labels direct mail from a worksheet using iWork 09

  I know how to use iWork 09 to perform a normal mailing.  However, to print mailing labels, I have to say that each label is NOT a new page.  By example, if I use 2 "x 4" labels, I need to print 10 labels on each physical page.  Is this possible?

  If you do not find a way to do it with Numbers/Pages (I don't know of a way, but I do not know much Numbers/Pages), you can download and install Avery Design and printing software. You can save the data of numbers in an Excel format and then import them to the Avery software: http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-%26-Software/Software/Avery-Design--P rint.htm

  I have iWork ' 08 and the latest versions of each application. I don't have a ' 09.

  I prefer much pages ' 08 and my billing system for numbers only works in it. I'll be able to continue to use it if I update?

  I had been on 10.8 until very recently, and I thought that I was eligible for iWork free upgrade if I upgrade Maverick or later because I had bought iWork 9 and in the box 'bought' in the app store, I see more free marked iWork.

  Now I've upgraded to 10.10 and when I go to the app store, they do not appear in the purchased area more and those I find a search for "iwork" are not intended to free practice.

  What do you think might happen?

  Apple Keynote is free from the Mac App Store, only if you qualify. A previous purchase of iWork 09, or upgrade to a newer version of Mac OS are not qualities in obtaining Keynote version 6 or 7 as a free purchase.

  Keynote version 6 and 7 are free to owners of a Mac, if during the first 12 months after the purchase of a new Mac, after this time, they are a paid purchase. Once this initial free purchase of Keynote is done, all new updates are free.

• Obtaining iWork ' 09 on Yosemite

  I have iWork ' 09 running on my MBP with 10.10.  However, I am unable to get ' 09 on my MP 5.1 running 10.9.5 (13F1911) because I do not have the patch that allows to iWork ' 09 to function on 10.10.  I bought ' 09 on a DVD, and Apple has stopped supporting the old iWork.  Because I do not have my ' 09 on the App store I can not get the fix.  I guess that I do not have the patch on my MBP because it works.  Is there anyway that I can get iWork ' 09 to work on Yosemite on my MP?

  I was really disappointed by the way Apple iWork for the new version dumbed down to make it compatible with iOS.  I have no desire to use iWork on my iOS but depend on the features that they have left behind.  iWork is so much easier to use than DSM and has almost everything I need.

  Have you tried to install iWorks on 10.9 computer to see if the patch appear in the updates?

  My specs are:

  My problem is that I spent 20 years using Windows programs and recently converted to Apple products and software, almost exclusively 100%.

  I am a business owner of IT Support, where I assist businesses and individuals in the creation and management of their systems and devices. As part of my business, more on an operational basis, I made my goal to use exclusively, iWork applications in order to have all of my documents and files stored in iCloud and accessible on all of my devices (iPhone 6 Plus, iPad 3, MacBook Air 13 ").

  In view of my goal, I understand that most of my corporate clients use programs such as Office365 or OpenOffice. Part 1 of my question, when I opened a doc Word (.docx), is it possible that I can easily copy the content and paste it into Pages? I constantly encounter the issue of "some formatting can be copied in the Pages", and the document that emerges isn't pretty.

  Part 2 of my question is, if one assumes that the point above can be solved, is there a process where I can create and share/collaborate with others who can not use iWork and avoid formatting issues?

  There is a little more sub-questions that I have on this subject, I would like to address based on the responses I receive from readers, so I'll wait for those to come!

  You're opening le.doc/.docx directly in the Pages or first in Word and then copy and paste in a doc white pages?

  You can use .doc .xls .ppt as Pages/numbers/Keynote format and then save in iCloud drive. Just remember to use "export to" rather than "Save/Save as" when you want to save the doc.

• iWork ' 09, iWork ' 06?

  Well, I am having some problems serious screen with my iMac which is under Snow Leopard. It's still usable, but I prefer not to use. So I'll start using my iBook G4 running Tiger until I have buy a new Mac. The iBook works very well for me, but I don't have a problem. On my iMac, I used iWork ' 09. But the iBook running iWork ' 06. I know that I can upgrade the iBook, but I really don't want to I don't have to. So, is it possible to convert documents iWork ' 09, iWork ' 06? I have a copy of iWork ' 08, so useful. So, anyone know a simple way to downgrade documents iWork ' 09, iWork ' 06? Thanks in advance.

  I suggest that you export your stuff of pages in .doc and then see if your pages 06 may open that.

  You might be better off makes every .doc in any case that the production of things in such an old application that no one may be able to read everything except more you format.

• Is it possible to use the software version of pages with the online version?

  I know that google docs has a feature where all those who have access to a document can edit it at the same time and everyone can see the changes as they are made. To me, it looks like the iCloud.com pages is the same too. I was wondering if a user of Microsoft could go online with his apple ID, login to iCloud.com, open a pages document that I shared with him with iCloud pages and work together with me, that has the version of the pages on my mac software. I want to be able to see the changes he makes on the request pages. If this is not possible, I have to go to iCloud.com as well?

If you use Pages for Mac, you should be able to share your document via iCloud to other users for collaboration or editing, even if they do not have an account iCloud.com.   I was under the impression that iWorks is now downloadable for free on new devices, however, I am unable to dl mini apple iPad pages 4? Someone knows why? Or how can I? App Store gives me only option at $9.99

• 5 pages can import Pages 2 documents?

  My iBook G4 died last week. I was using iWork ' 06, who has 2 Pages, so I wonder if I can just import my Pages documents with the current application of the Pages, or if I have to use TextEdit and do a lot of copy and paste. With the exception of a few documents that use tables there are that nothing complicated thereon.

  Why can't you just reinstall iWork ' 06? If you do not have the original CD/DVD, check eBay or Amazon to get a copy.

  Also, try libreoffice. I don't know if it can open Pages documents but it can open many old AppleWorks documents, so it is worth trying since it's free.

  The current version of Pages, Pages 5, is supposed to be able to open the Pages 3 & 4 documents, but 2 Pages is not listed. The current version requires at least Mavericks, OS X 10.9.

• It worked!

  I have a Macbook Pro for mid-2010 running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard since it's purchase.  I wiped it clean last summer (2015) and reinstalled Snow Leopard and did a cleanup of the House.  With Safari is no longer supported, I used Chrome and Firefox until they stopped taking in charge.  My main hesitation in the upgrade has been the duration of use, I give the older versions of iMovie and Garageband and not sold on the newer versions.

  To have my imposed hand needing a browser supported and safe, I gritted my teeth and downloaded El Capitan on the premise that I have to buy versions of Djay updates, iMovie, and Garageband.

  Well, after 3 has not been able to download attempts during peak times, worked my 4th attempt (at night), and the installation went perfectly (about 45 minutes).  To my surprise, all my older apps, for that was my concern are working properly.  Anyone else with older versions of 2010 on El Capitan?

  I always use iWorks ' 08 without problem on El Cap - although I have the latest version too, just prefer the old version of numbers with the sidebar for all the various leaves rather then the new top tabs (when you have 30 + leaves on a single document to tabs are really clumsy compared to a list).

  I even got iMovie HD (2006) work at will a bit of hacking on.

• Is it possible to switch languages between paragraphs in 5 Pages?

  I just upgraded to a new Macbook running the Mavericks and using iWork with 5 Pages. I am writing a thesis that is to regularly switch between English and French. On my old Mac running an archaic version of the word for Mac, I was able to switch between languages by going in "Language."... "and then setting the language for the individual paragraphs. I was even able to create body styles in the document template for each language, so that I can switch between languages quickly, just keyboard shortcuts.

  On Pages you seem to not even be able to change the language for the individual paragraphs at all? As far as I know, you can only change the language for the entire document using the grammar and spelling... Display spelling and grammar-> language - or not at all. The only way I seem to be able to get around this is simply by disabling all spelling and grammar correction settings, so that at least I can type in French without finding it's autocorrected it all back to English.

  This thread - pages 5 change the languages of the various paragraphs? suggests that the feature has existed in the last Pages, but is now auto - however, based on my own experience, it certainly isn't!

  Is there a work around for this maybe using Styles? Otherwise, it will be without a doubt the thing that sends me to Microsoft Word...

  5 pages has been removed and the ability to text of language tag.  For this and other similar reasons, many users have slept with or is returned to 4 Pages, which is superior in several ways, or moved to Word or LibreOffice since 5 Pages was released 3 years ago.   I recommend do you the same thing.

  I used iWorks ' 09, 4.3 Pages for several years and I am very happy with it. I recently installed 5.6.1 Pages and open documents created with 4.3 Pages. Sometimes I include an image (TIFF, PNG, GIF or JPG without animation) in a footnote or an endnote. The images are missing in notes in the conversion of Pages 5.6.1.

  I tried in vain to reimport the photos. Is there a solution to this?

  5.6.1 pages has a long list of missing features and flaws you simply press another.

  Until these latest versions, it was not possible to insert graphics in headers/feet page or tables, but they were added later, so there may be some hope but don't hold your breath.

  Why not just continue to use Pages ' 09?
