If image launched initially with a word in the background, you can't change it with paint. You can write a note on top of it so you cover, but you can consider using Adobe Photoshop.

  • Refusal to open JPEG files, inability to use 'Paint'... all due to a catastrophic hard drive failure!

I am semi-retired and depend on my XP system during a large part of my income.    Yesterday, my hard drive "took a dive", and I upgraded my computer with a second hard disk, burner CD, etc., etc.   However, somewhere along the way I lost the ability, integrated with this when I bought it in 2001, to open and edit the JPEG and other picture files.  PAINTING has been my main editing tool for photos on which I rely.   My opening software allowed me to crop, change the contrast, color saturation, etc. etc.  I don't had fooled it with all this in so long, that I can't even remember the name of the program!   My technician downloaded XP service Pack 3.   And I'm pretty sure it's something simple.   But while I have become adroit enough with my computer and was able to reinstall my scanner, printer, etc., etc., I never did quite this kind of reconfigure.   I know that I had ANY software program that came with the computer or the attendant to the scanner and printer, etc, etc.     He had twelve hours now and I have pictures that I need to get online as soon as POSSIBLE.

    In short: help!  Help, please!

My old hard drive could not be recovered.  No files have been saved.  No program.  No files have been transferred, but I

generate new photos every day!  And I cannot now meaningfully change them.  I need to crop, lighten, Darken,

change the color balance, etc. etc and IMPOSSIBLE.

When I click on my JPEG files (and probably all OTHER files!)  I don't get any guest of 'open '.   I can not even FIND paint, I used every day.  I got XP Professional Service Pack 3, apparently.   Yes, I think that every single Windows Update has been loaded and installed.   As far as I know, or paint, or Photoshop (I think that's what has been!) is on my computer or activated.

    ===============================================
OK... the old hard drive disappeared...

Am I to assume that you have pictures currently saved to your new hard drive?

If you double click left photo it will open in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

Paint comes with Windows... If you want PhotoShop, you will have to
buy it. (he might have image editing software included in)
your original OEM but package that was lost when your hard drive is dead
unless you have records of installation for the individual programs)

For painting... go... Start button / all programs / Accessories / Paint.
If you do not paint... try the following steps to install it.

Uninstall and reinstall MS Paint in Windows XP

You might like Windows Live Photo Gallery... it's a free download
from Microsoft and it has cropping and editing capabilities.

You can save the download in a folder on your hard drive and
install from there, instead of trying to install online.

    Go to the following site:...

    Windows Live Photo Gallery (Essentials)
    http://download.live.com/Photogallery

On the left, click the "Download..." button

    When the download screen appears...
On the left, click on the button "Cancel"...

Now left click on the "Try Again" button...

This will allow you to download the
    complete record of 134 MB...

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

On the installation screen, you will have the
option to uncheck all the apps that you
    do not want to install.

  • Using Paint in Windows Vista (Windows VIsta Home Premium ver 6.0)

    Greetings,

I would greatly appreciate someone's help with this issue:

I created a jpeg file in the version of paint that comes with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium, using, for the most, the drawing tools and text boxes (text input). It looks good, when I see him in painting, in fact, there are horizontal and vertical scroll bars when this image is in the paint).

When I double-click the file saved in my windows Explorer, however, by default the image is viewed in the usual Windows image viewer. In the Viewer, the image is much smaller and the text is very small (you can't read) and the whole image is on the far left of the Viewer.

I think if I had to send it to someone and they should open in the same way I have, it would be not readable.

I tried different settings of the image in Paint, ("attributes"), but still no luck. It must be a setting or some way to make the image easily read (and read) in the windows image viewer - I was to send in the form of a file attached to someone by e-mail and after saving.

    Thanks for any help!

    JT

You have a large canvas - you can go to the lower right of the white background (use scrollbars) and drag the smaller.

In the menu Image Paint - attributes and the value of 1 x 1. This (or drag) is the default size in the future. If sticky auto will grow to the size of the pasted image. If you want to draw fresh you resizeit first dragging or the menu.

  • Can I use Paint to change the color of the text in a jpeg file?

That covers it pretty well.  Also, can I put a background color in without the text being covered?

    Hello

If the text already exists in the image, then you cannot delete/edit it in paint. Yes, it is possible but requires a little extra work, you can use third-party application to make changes in the jpeg file. I suggest you research on the use of your favorite search engine.

A box with a dotted line round it appears on the photo, but when I try to type in that I get a "ding" sound?

Try to restore the file associations using the registry mentioned in this link

I strongly recommend allows you to back up the registry or create a restore point before you perform the steps

  • Using paint tool

Its been 8 years am use Microsoft products. Am a satisfied Microsoft user and now uses windows 7.
am facing a problem with the application of paint. Is this problem in all previous versions of windows.
The problem is when I access the basic colors of the color scheme.
When I move up and down (left-right mode), I find that the colors in the 39th and 47th boxes are the same. I mean they come with the same color code(Hue:200,Sat:240,Lum:30,Red:64,Green:0,Blue:64). It is a problem when I go to this palette for my application under development. When I put fundamental colors of the palette as a primary key, the constraint violation occurs... forward your answer

    Hi, Maryse,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forums.

After the description, it seems that it has same in the application of painting colors in boxes 39th and 47th.

That you are working on the development of applications, it is better suited for the IT audience Pro on MSDN. Please ask your question in the MSDN Support Forum.

  • When should I use Paint on Photoshop?

Most recent IM for Photoshop so it's easier for me to throw my images in Paint to resize and crop.

I was curious, if other members of the community never use Microsoft Paint for tasks and if so what?

In addition, should I do this or would it benefit me to use Photoshop for resizing and cropping of images?  I intend using Photoshop, but I rarely have it open since I mostly use development within the CS5 programs and there are orders of magnitude more time to open Photoshop painting.  But even with a Fireworks image and running attended Fireworks I still through my image in paint because it seems faster.  Am I stupid? Should I give up painting? Some shortcut keys for this task would be probably better ahhhh... any idea?

    Thank you

I don't think I've used MS Paint, since on Windows 2.0. I didn't even know it was still there.

I just use PS for everything, except JPEG, with butt header information, the PS does not open. Then I just use ThumbsPlus, or IrfanView, open, and then save it with the appropriate header information.

I did all the data on the algorithms of scaling (resizing) in the paint, but would think that PS would be better. They offer a good range of choice, but perhaps only a similar painting? Even when cropping. What part of these operations do you find easier in the paint?

If I use PS a lot and have for a long time, image editing software is just a tool in a process. Using the appropriate tool, or that the artist is no longer at ease, is the trick. I use the (now Corel) painter for a large number of treatments, but almost always end up in PS. Over the decades, PS became closest to painter, as in days past. Yet, there are treatments that I want to apply to the painter, and some of those choices will be my personal comfort level. I have something very similar to my most recent PS, but if I know that each step by heart in painter, my comfort level increases.

Use what you like for different operations, but I have a Visual control with surgery, as the scale/resize. Do the same exact operation of each program, using the same base Image and the same exact settings. Compare the results of two critical programs.

    Good luck

  • Using paint and how to change the text box.

How can I select a text box that you want to modify in the paint - Windows 7 Home Premium?  Once I leave the text box I can't select again a second time to change the text or grab it to move... • Using Paint Bucket fill selection puts a line of 1px down on each side...

I want to fill a selection.  I have a simple rectangle path.  I make the path a selection and fill it with the paint bucket.  I get a line on the left outside of the selection:

    select01.jpg

Can I get a straight line inside the selection:

    select02.jpg

There is no line at the top and the bottom of the embankment is at the bottom of the image.

This line is only 1px but it's for a web graphic and I try to get a pixel-perfect size.

Can someone tell me why the behavior and how to avoid it?

    Thank you

With the live selection, check in "Refine edges" that there are no odd value.

The same thing happens if you create a shape layer or fill pixel?

  • In Windows Paint there seems to be no way to resize in inches, only in pixels or as a percentage. An inch option would be more useful to resize to a standard size picture frame.

For the first time the user and didn't know there would be a window for more details. My question is: paint can resize images in inches?

    Hello

In the Microsoft paint program, it has no option to resize the size of the image in inches; It comes to the design of Windows 7. See the following link for more information.

on paint it willnt allow to use the text why

    Hi logannill,

What version of windows are you using?

You can add text to pictures using paint, you can follow the steps below

    1. open MS Paint your current photo.

    2. find the area where you want to add text.

    3. Select the text tool, represented by the letter A, in the box to tools on your left.

    4. position the cursor on the location where you want the text to start.

    5. Select the font style and size of the help box that appears when you select the tool.

    6. start to type. You will see the text added during typing. It is a good indicator of how it will look when you are done.

    7. click outside of it, and it will be fixed on your photo. If the spacing, size or placement is not quite right, scrap it and start again by selecting 'Cancel' in the Edit menu, and then restart the process again
