• ProDesk 600 G1 BIOS configuration of the TPM secure through the BIOS Configuration utility

  We have a range of devices, computers HP desktop and laptops in our environment.  Devices are all running Windows 7 64 bit and should have Bitlocker enabled, but we found that some were not encrypted.  So I am trying to set up a remote BIOS and Bitlocker config activate software that we can get out via SCCM and then embed in a task sequence image for new machines.

  I use the Bios HP Configuration utility to check a BIOS password is set and then activate the TPM chip.  I took a BIOS config output of each of our models and created a settings file that has all of the TPM associated parameters of all models.

  At the moment I run Setup BIOS utility manually for testing.  On all models I tried that works very well, except for the 600 ProDesk G1 SFF.

  When I run the utility on the ProDesk 600 G1 MFS, it says that I have managed to update the settings, and when I check the BIOS, the TPM secure has been unhidden and the TPM Management was given to the operating system (two settings I change), but the TPM itself remains hidden.

  It's the release of the BIOS configuration utility (it uses the 2.60.13.1 version, which uses plaintext passwords.  I also tried with the 3.0.13.1 later version that uses password files - same result)

  And after a reboot (where it should activate the TPM), BIOS shows as disabled built-in safety device (see attachment for the image).

  I have tried everything I can think of to get this to activate, including:

  • Different versions of the BIOS configuration utility
  
  
  • Remove the password from the BIOS and the application in the same order as the parameters
  
  
  • Different passwords
  
  
  • Reboot and allowing the machine to start completely to Windows before checking if the setting took effect

  I also tried to add the utility and the commands for an SCCM package and it works directly and as part of a sequence of tasks to see if that makes a difference, but nothing I've done has activated the TPM module.

  I know that the TPM module works, as you can turn it on manually and then Bitlocker can be applied to the machine, but with thousands of devices in our environment, I need to get this job without the need for manual intervention.

  Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Or has someone at - he managed to activate the TPM on the SFF of 600 ProDesk G1 using the BIOS Setup utility?  Any ideas / suggestions would be very appreciated!

  This problem has now been resolved by HP.
  
  They provided a replacement motherboard for the test machine I was using that solved this problem. I don't know what kind of motherboard failure could prevent the activation via the script TMP chip but not prevent activation through the BIOS menu, but as a replacement solved the problem, then it must be a hardware failure.

  Check with support from the manufacturer of your system (manufacturer of motherboard for customized systems)
  or a real computer store (that makes its own domestic service).

I used the DPS configurator and selected slide show right banner, added two slides, the first with "Hide if right to the last number" checked, and the second with "Hide, if not the right to issue" checked.   But that is the problem. Our application is using a distribution restricted to entitle A group only to the folios of Group A and Group B group folios. If I am logged in as Group B banners appear as expected, but if I log in as A group, they are not. The problem is that the last number is entitled to group B, since it was published a minute after the group a folio.

  Any suggestions?

  You will need to create a slide for Group b and another for the one group. For each slide, you will need to 'hide otherwise entitled' and specify the product id for the other group. Unfortunately, there is not a way to hide a slide, if a user has the right to one of the two folios.

  Please use the ESC key to enter the BIOS settings.
  You should see the option to increase the shared graphics memory.

  I'm new to NI Veristand. We use a controller NIPXI 8108 with a map of FPGA OR 7841R. Is the used chassis OR PXI 1042 q. VeriStand does not deploy, when we try to add the target FPGA. For adding, we used the default for NOR 7841R provided with veristand FPGA configuration file. The error is attached! Without adding the FPGA target, we are able to deploy.

  We programmed with LabVIEW FPGA card and it works.

  This is because the FPGA card is not connected through the chassis

  Right click on the (unidentified) PXI system and identify as PXI 1042 q.

  Right-click on the PXI-1042 q system and identify the PXI-8108 controller.

  Then it will automatically fill the devices under the controller

  Now try to deploy again. It will work

  Yes you can.  It's actually probably the same BIOS, I am not aware that Lenovo release BIOS in different languages.

  If you need to update the BIOS I highly recommend to download the iso disk image, burn the image to a cd and then boot from it to perform the update.

  Flashing the laptop computer with a BIOS that is not designed to be used with a specific motherboard shouldn't work.  Even if this does not work, I do not recommend this update because it would be very likely to cause other problems.

  If the most recent BIOS is not released which probably means that there is no reason for this.

  The question is: why you want to update the BIOS?
  Is there something wrong?

  As you know, the BIOS update is a sensitive technique.
  My laptop works with old BIOS and I did not upgrade to update even if the new version has been released I didn't update because my camera is ok.

  However, it seems that the two series are similar, but I think there are still some minor differences besides the BIOS update should not continues if the wrong version would be selected

  I need to enable "hardware assisted virtualization" in the bios, but there is no parameters (that I can find) to do. Yes, I went through the security settings in the bios. I ran MS CoreInfo.exe and the computer is good for the VHA and LATTE. DEP is good as well (checked via Control Panel............ System properties). Hyper-V is enabled in the operating system. Is there some 'hidden' attributes that I don't see in the bios?

  FYI the point of this is that I'm trying to get phone win8 emulator to run.

  Thanks for the reply and the problem lies, I only have the setting for Vtx/Vtd, who is disabled because it must be determined in accordance with the documentation of MS (in my case). I don't have the DEP setting. Now just for S & G I activated the setting and guess what... the phone emulator worked! Maybe in the bios I have they rolled up a number of things in a setting, I can only guess. But it does not work so I'll close this. Thanks for the help.
