Utility IMP EXP in Linux.

Hi all

I'm Imp the diagram but I'm not able to do this successfully.

Step, I've done so far.

1. I have a Exp. DMP folder under as follows

Directory = DATA_PUMP_DIR

what lsgdev/dpdumpexp_tbsbi.dmp

2Select * from dba_directories;

SYSlsgdev/dpdump/.

3GRANT READ on DIRECTORY DATA_PUMP_DIR FOR system

GRANT WRITING ON DIRECTORY DATA_PUMP_DIR ON the system

4linux permission rwxrwxrwx on the file exp_tbsbi

Linux permission dpdump rwxrwxrwx

[oracle@lsgapps ~]impdp system $ / * remap_tablespace = directory USERS TBSBI:= DATA_PUMP_DIR exp_tbsbi. = dumpfile dmp full = y imp_tbsbi1. = logfile Open a parallel session = 4

Additional information: 3

Can you pls help on this.

Thank you

You have two choices

1. place the export file in the location/u02/app/oracle/admin/lsgdev/dpdump and then run the import.

2. create a directory in the database (see CREATE a DIRECTORY ) pointing to/u02/app/oracle/admin/lsgdb/dpdump , and then call impdp using this directory.

  • language of stdout IMP/exp

    Hi all

    I'm interested in changing language exp or imp log files? Oracle version is 10.2.0.4.0, version of the OS is Win 2k3R2.

    I have Oracle DB installed on the OS of the Hungarian language and when starts a command exp, I get the log on the Hungarian language file. I need language stdout for utility imp/exp on English. Can I do this?
    For as far as I know language stdout to query for the current session sqlplus can be changed with alter session set nls_language = ENGLISH.

    A little demonstration:

    current log file:
    . . . . .
    . . a következo tábla exportálása:                         A          3 sor exportálva
    . . a következo tábla exportálása:                         B          2 sor exportálva
    . . a következo tábla exportálása:                         C          0 sor exportálva
    . . . . .
    desired logfile:

    . . exporting table                       A          3 rows exported
    . . exporting table                       B          2 rows exported
    . . exporting table                       C          0 rows exported

    TNX in advance.

    Before walking exp or imp (and why use exp and imp?)

    Set nls_lang =_.

    Don't know why but it seems that it is "Question Doc day" again.

  • imp exp/full FUL grant allows select u / drop all tables... How to avoid this?

    Hi all

    We do nightly exp as our backup for certain pattern... and shell script we used the password hardcoded in the script system and we want to avoid this... so I try to create another user who can make exp/IMP... and what's my user statement like... to give full grant create imp exp/full...

    CREATE test USER
    IDENTIFIED BY THE VALUES OF 'PASS '.
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS
    TEMPORARY TEMP TABLESPACE
    DEFAULT PROFILE
    RELEASE OF ACCOUNT;
    -3 roles for test
    GRANT IMP_FULL_DATABASE TO test.
    GRANT CONNECT TO test;
    GRANT permission TO test;
    Test of ALTER USER DEFAULT ROLE;
    -1 privilege system for test
    GRANT UNLIMITED TABLESPACE TO test;

    but now, here's the thing... This test user is able to query every single table in any schema... or drop something... . How can I stop that...

    all I want to do for test user is exp/imp and nothing else... the user can select on any table but cannot modify or drop whatever it is... what according to give for it? some exp/IMP...

    If not, how can I avoid hard codding the password in my shell script? Can I have one parfile but then again who will need to have the password... and we try to avoid that...

    Anyone (with the appropriate privileges) can import the dump file later. You wouldn't need the TEST user to be able to import the file. If the only thing that the TEST user generates a FULL dump file = a, then the user would only need permission privileges. If the user does not have a full export because you're that concerned about a few diagrams, the user didn't even need permission privileges.

    Hi H. Christy

    As you mentioned in the previous post, your database schema source GSW has segments in the following storage spaces;

    SQL > select tablespace_name distinct from dba_segments where owner = 'GSW ';

    TABLESPACE_NAME

    ------------------------------

    USERS

    SYSTEM

    When you import, you specify:

    REMAP_TABLESPACE = SYSTEM: GSW

    But the import process fails with:

    ORA-39083: TABLE object type: 'GSW '. "' REPORTS ' unable to create with the error:

    ORA-00959: tablespace 'GSW' does not exist

    Above means GSW tablespace must be created in the target database because you specify that all segments of the SYSTEM tablespace must be redirected (created) in tablespace GSW.

    Also, you must rewrite your import like this command:

    Impdp gsw/pass remap_tablespace = SYSTEM: GSW remap_tablespace = the rΘpertoire of USERS: GSW dumpfile = gsw.dmp = dmpdir

    Then, you must restart all import process in the target database:

    SQL> CREATE TABLESPACE gsw .......

    SQL> drop user gsw cascade;
    SQL> create user gsw identified by pass;
    SQL> grant connect, resource to gsw;
    SQL> grant read, write on directory dmpdir to gsw;
    SQL> grant create database link to gsw;

    impdp gsw/pass remap_tablespace=SYSTEM:GSW remap_tablespace=USERS:GSW dumpfile=gsw.dmp directory=dmpdir

    Kind regards

  • IMP/exp expdp/impdp vs

    Hi all;
    which is better in performance the traditional exp/imp or expdp/impdp?

    Hello

    Oracle Data Pump is a more recent, rapid and flexible alternative to utilities 'exp' and 'imp' used in previous versions of Oracle. In addition to export and import of basic feature data pump provides a PL/SQL API and support for external tables

    If Oracle is recommended for all 10g databases and more use of Data Pump and pre 10g use old exp/imp :)

  • IMP - exp

    Hello

    I had two diagrams in my database with the following information.
    Schema name1 --> Test
    User --> test
    Default Tablespace --> Users

    Schema Name2 -->hms
    user --> hms
    Default tablespace --> hms
    I want to spend the DataSet from the schema of the user to the schema for which I followed as a result of scenario and hms

    First of all, exported all test pattern
    expdp test/password schemas=test directory=my_data_pump_directory dumpfile=testdump1.dmp logfile=testexp1.log
    Then import all schema in the schema of hms
    impdp hms/password schemas=test directory=my_data_pump_directory dumpfile=testdump1.dmp logfile=testimp1.log remap_schema=test:hms;
    Well were imported, but my concern is that after import in the hms scheme, the data set continues in tablespace users rather than hms tablespace that is the default tablespace for the user to hms

    What is the problem? Two objects with the same name may reside in the same table. I don't see a problem with that.
    Always concern you, change the default tablespace OR use the REMAP_TABLESPACE parameter.
    REMAP_TABLESPACE = user: hms

  • IMP/exp and charactersets

    We have been important (not datapump) export with a provider, and it appeared at the top of the log file:
    import done in WE8ISO8859P1 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
    import server uses AL32UTF8 character set (possible charset conversion)
    export client uses US7ASCII character set (possible charset conversion)
    Previously, we only used expdp/impdp and then only between our servers configured in the same way. What kind of problem that can create, if any?

    Thank you

    What kind of problem that can create, if any?

    NO result of problems

  • Oracle Data Pump

    oracle11g oracle introduced the new feature called oracle data dump. What is the difference in comparing utility imp/exp? can someone explain how to use this new feature

    for example, by using the user scott to export some tables in my diagram.

    Data pump is very fast, parallel importation is made in 11g. exp/imp sometimes fails due to problems of space on the server. but by using method of parallel import is performed. parallel importation is nothing but imported when 1 row have exported the corresponding row in the table, thus saving disk space. With Data Pump Import, a single stream of data load is about 15 to 45 times faster than the initial import.

  • exp/expdp of 32-bit, and then imp/impdp 9i to 11 GR 2 64-bit

    Hi all

    This process is supported?

    exp/expdp of 32-bit, and then imp/impdp 9i to 11 GR 2 64-bit

    Thank you very much

    JC

    Hi, Jenna.

    Yes, it is supported.

    Import/export is done at the level of the data files OS no not really something to do with the system, the data files are the same regardless of the oracle software binary level. However, you should check if any problem with the compatibility of data on levels of oracle version.

    But please make sure that you use the same utility dump file, i.e., imp - exp and expdp-impdp(introduced from 10g)

    Thank you
