utility vmnetcfg with VMware Player 4

Is it possible and how to get, please?

> Thankyou - when I tried this I got in the destination directory was another copy of VMware-player - 4.0.0 - 471780.exe

This is normal - wait a few minutes more - and then the rest should appear as well

You can also double-click any VMs .vmx files you want to start.  What I've done is set up the shortcuts in my quick launch for my VMs frequently used toolbar.  Each shortcut target the respective virtual machine .vmx file, is to start.

  • Guy Android coming to BB. Installation with VMWare player/Simulator/SDK issues

    I installed it,

    C/C++ QNX Momentics IDE...installer-bbndk-BB10_0_04-win32-186-201204250810-201204251322.exe

    VMWare... VMware-player-version 4.0.3 - 703057.exe

I go to the early stages of QNX Momentics IDE and try opening an example (SDK)
I get the Setup Deployment Wizard. I go to Device Setup and choose Simulator.
What should I do now? The last step click the HELP (?) says he launched the Simulator, but I get a page with the title "Blackberry Simulator is not found and it's looking for a file VNX. I checked and tripled check the previous steps on the help icon.

The Simulator is deadlocked C:\Documents and Settings\User1\My Documents\Virtual Machines\BlackBerry10Simulator-BB10_0_04. And I clearly see a BlackBerry10Simulator.vmx file in there
but the SDK app doesn't see a single VMX file. The folder 'controllers' and other records.

I tried the VMWare Player. It works very well.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Hey be based,

The initial installation of the IDE and Simulator can be sometimes a bit daunting. Some of these steps you've done but im going anyway to list them:

    1. raise some Code by signing keys: keys

    2. download and install Momentics IDE and install

    3. download and install Blackberry Simulator

    4 download and install VMWare

5 disable all firewall programs including windows firewall

    6. open VMWare-> choose open a Virtual Machine-> access your VNX file and open it

7 if it opens really slow try changing options in VMWare 2 CPU and see if you can activate the "Virtualization technology" or "AMD Virtualization" in the BIOS

8 the address of development of the Simulator (click the icon of the person with the toothed wheel on the menu bar of your alpha dev Simulator

    9. open the IDE, click window > Preferences on Windows and select BlackBerry and click BlackBerry Setup Wizard Deployment.

    10. follow the onscreen instructions to set up your target (Simulator or device) and add your chips of the device debugging.

11 A this point your simulator could not auto discover so add your IP address you found earlier and if you haven't added a password in your simulator then let empty password.

    12. the rest of the wizard of BlackBerry deployment configuration should work just fine.

    13 open a sample application

    14. click on the file of the bar - descriptor.xml in the Project Explorer view, and then select "Set of symbolic debugging.

    15. right click on the project file, and then select Configurations to Build > Set Active > 4 Simulator-Debug

    16. right click on the project file, and then select generate the project.

    17. then right click on the project again and select run as > BlackBerry Application C/C++

    18. If all goes well, everything should work from there.

Remember you need to do 14-17 for each project you want to run through the Simulator. And always turn on the virtual machine before you start the IDE I found that things always work better that way.

    I hope this helps!

  • Need help with VMware Player to run!

I've been using VMware Player 7.1 successfully for some time, but my drive hard host started making noise, so I installed a new SSD drive as drive C on the host computer.  My old hard drive installation was 8.1 for Windows 64-bit, but needed to be cleaned, so I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 64 bit on my new SSD for the host.  My guest OS (8.1 64-bit Windows) has been installed on drive E, then I'm not touching this player.  I then installed VMware Player 7.1 and all is well.  However, when I now run VMware Player 7.1 and try to open my (8.1 Windows 64-bit) guest OS, he says now that the Intel VT - x is disabled.  I've never touched the BIOS at all, but to check I went into the BIOS and Intel Virtualization is always on because it has been.  My system is a motherboard ASUS Sabertooth with an i7 processor and 16 GB of ram.

So I rechecked everything in the BIOS and made sure the virtualization is enabled.  What else can I do to get VMware Player 7.1 running?  Help, please!

The log file created when I tried to run the guest operating system is attached.

    Thank you

    Abby

It is indeed strange that there is a difference with no changes to the BIOS. In any case, other messages in the forums, it seems like some antivirus/end point protection applications can cause these issues (see, for example, binary translation is incompatible with the long mode). You have already installed this application?

It might be interesting to see vmware.log from the virtual machine HARD disk.

  • Vmrun fails with VMware Player

    Hello

I am currently using VMware Player version 7.1.2 and VIX version 1.13

I want to start my VM using vmrun VIX, unfortunately when I type in the command line, the following command:

    departure of player vmrun t 'D:\myUser\VMWare\Windows7\Windows 7.vmx '.

It will give me something like this:

Unable to connect to the host.

Error: The specified version is not found

I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug?

For the mention I don't want to not buy or even to install VMware Workstation as I had a lot of trouble with it in the past (I had to do a system restore to get rid of) uninstall.

OK, managed to make it work, here's how:

    1) there is a vixwrapper config.txt file in the folder VMware\VMware VIX. Make a backup and overwrite the following on the content of the file:

    #@Version-Info
    #
    # VixAllProducts revision mapping for Workstation/Player
    #
    # This file translates product version specifications into the appropriate Vix
    # implementations.
    #
    # Each @Version-Info line has 5 white-space seperated entries:
    #
    # provider-type: ws, esx, viserver, etc
    # apiVersion: the apiVersion supported, as passed in from VixHost_Connect()
    # ipc-type: none, vmdb, vmodl, cim
    # product-version: the product version string
    #
    # implementation-directory: the path to the library that implements the
    # version described by the first 4 parameters
    #
    #
    # The configuration is based on the first 4 fields, which describe
    # the product. The 5th field is the location. To force it to try
    # multiple location, the same configuration can be repeated. Note that
    # list is built in LIFO order, so the latest entry in the configuration
    # will be the first used. If for some reason that value fails, it will
    # continue through any other matches.

    # Workstation 11.1.2 and Player 7.1.2
    ws 17 vmdb 11.1.2 Workstation-11.0.0-and-vSphere-6.0.0
    player 17 vmdb 7.1.2 Workstation-11.0.0-and-vSphere-6.0.0
    ws-shared 17 none 11.1.2 Workstation-11.0.0-and-vSphere-6.0.0

    # EOF

    (2) if there is a folder named "workstation - 11.0.0 - and-vSphere - 6.0.0" then move elsewhere as a backup

    (3) make a copy of the folder "Desktop - 10.0.0 - and-vSphere - 5.5.0" and name it:

    Workstation - 11.0.0 - and-vSphere - 6.0.0

    (4) do not forget to add the vmrun path to the variable user: PATH (the vmrun path should be something like this: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware")

Now the vmrun commands should work.

The following command opens the virtual machine:

    departure of player vmrun t 'D:\myUser\VMWare\Windows7\Windows 7.vmx '.

  • Problems with VMware Player

    Can someone help me please?

I have two questions, but here's the background. I run a virtual machine using VM Player with Enterprise Server 2008 x 64 as my OS and Windows 7 on the client system. The version of the player that I use is the 3.0.1 and am not able to upgrade to a newer version that the virtual machines created on the new version won't be compatible with the rest on 3.0.1.

Question 1: I get the following error message:

"Could not get the driver vmci version: the handle is invalid.".

You have an incorrect version of the driver 'vmci.sys '. Try reinstalling VMware Player.

Power DevicePowerOn module has failed. »

I uninstalled the software and reinstalled again, download the software from vmware download sit and still get the same error message. I also entered in the configuration of the .vm file and changed the settings vmciio:present from true to false. Should I do this?

Question 2: Now the virtual machine is not recognizing the CDROM. I tried to use the real player allocated on the client system and also let the virtual machine automatically select, the two ways fail. I looked through other forums that show screen shots of how to fix this problem, unfortunately the screen with what I presented is different from that in demonstration.

Any help would be fantastic, thank you.

    Welcome to the community,

I don't know, but what you can try is to:

1st edition.) Can you confirm you changed the setting vmci0.present = 'false' with the virtual machine properly closed - not suspended - and VMware Player closed.

2nd edition.) In settings of the virtual machine CD-ROM, click on the button "Advanced...". "and enable"Legacy Emulation"see if that helps.

If the above does not help, please report (attached) file vmware.log of the virtual machine to a response message.

  • The simplies never backup? -with VMware Player

    Hello community,

is it possible to use VMware player form simplies to 'save' like this:

    1. a virtual machine inside directoty create: VM_Win7_Folder

    2. copy and paste the complete record for let say Copy_VM_Win7_Folder

3 and virtual distributor once the VM_Win7_Folder is infected or something just go and delete the entire folder

with Windows Explorer and rename Copy_VM_Win7_Folder in VM_Win7_Folder and start VM?

    Is it works too?

    Best regards

    Milan

Yes, make a copy of the files that make up a virtual machine is a way to save.  Made it with the stop of the guest operating system, not suspended and VMware Player closed.

You can also use snapshot to revert to a previous State thus solve the immediate problem, but remember to always keep any user of data that is stored with the file systems Guest if operating system you do not lose and the user data when it is necessary to restore a VM from the backup or to revert to a previous snapshot.

  • I need assistance with VMware Player Manifest.txt file

I make a program of federal work with ITT Technical Institute study. Well, we have VMware Player installed on lab computers, and on a weekly basis, I have to empty the student accounts.  Well some student accounts I can't delete, I am logged in as the administrator of the Local Machine and when I try to remove most of the accounts I get the message saying that the manifest.txt file is "cannot delete manifest.txt.2: access denied."  Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. »

and see that I have clear accounts because space is limited on these machines.  I was just wondering if any 1 can help me on how to remove this file, it would be greatly appreciated and if I have this post in the wrong section will be some 1 let me know?

    Thank you

If the boot without failure for the administrator account and not be able to delete a file under the other user account or the account itself, there is something else wrong.

First, I make sure that no VMware not associated with the process are running which must be in Mode safe and then I would take a look at the permissions on the file and, if necessary and or possible I would take possession in order to delete the file.  Otherwise issues that may could be corruption of the file system, in which case I would run chkdsk with the argument/f or if it's just that a file could / can be an area damaged the disk hard physics so you can test the physical hard drive with a diagnostic tool specific HARD drive manufacturing.

Other options would be to try to remove the file from the Recovery Console by booting from the installation disc or Windows using a Linux Live OS like Slax.

BTW is this topic on the host or guest?  If in a guest I just delete the virtual machine and replace it from a backup and if it is on the host computer, then this is not really a matter of VMware itself and it is more a problem of Windows Administration and must be treated accordingly from the point of view of the user account and or file system management regardless of the application that created the file and act accordingly.

  • Dist small linux with VMWare player

I only want to allow a host workstation run virtual computer images. So for this I need an OS and a player of VMWare. Currently, I used the OEM operating system that comes with work stations. However, they come with vista overload is big enough. Especially when it comes to memory. So I was wondering if there is any document that describes a process step by step (or even a complete iso) with a linux distro and a vmware player installed on it. Where the os and vmware player has been configured to allow the player to vmware the largest amount of resources and where the player was executed near kiosk mode.

This is of course what VMWare themselves have said would come in the future

I suggest that you download and install that Xubuntu 8.04.1 codename Hardy Heron, includes long-term support.  It is the variant of Ubuntu Linux designed for low overhead.  Installation of Xubuntu should be very simple in normal cases.

After that Xubuntu is installed, download and install VMware Player using the packaging variant ".bundle".

To install VMware Player on Xubuntu, simply run the .bundle from the command line - open a terminal and

    type something like this:

    $ sudo VMware-Player - 2.5.0 - 118166.i386.bundle

You will need to answer several questions, starting with your password.  You probably want to just press enter several times to select the default values.

  • VMWare Player and VLAN

    Hi all out there.

I have a problem regarding virtual local networks and virtualization. The configuration is as follows. Our developers are about to get virtual machines with Linux (centos) guests on their desktop computers. Host machines are Windows 7 boxes with sufficient CPU, RAM and disk space. Each box has only one NIC installed and connected to the internal LAN. On this single cable Lan, there should be 2 VLANS:

    1. vLan id 100 for windows hosts (configured as default vLan on the switch ports)
    2. vLan id 199 for the machine virtual (different configuration for routing/firewall/proxy)

The network for the virtual machine must be set to bridged, because making web development, developers must be able to access Web servers installed on the virtual machines via a browser.

The original plan was to use VMware Player, install Linux, configure the vLan in the comments, and it works. But no package has left the virtual machine when you ping the default gateway of the vLan 199. To me, it seems that something is declining for all packages on vLan the vLan 199.

    The questions are:

    • VLANs are supported by VMware Player or workstation after all?
    • They are supported in a configuration like that?
    • How do we? Must be setup in Windows as well?

    Help would be very nice

    Greetings

    Joachim

The default virtual network Editor is not installed with VMware Player and you will need to transform automatic bridging and define VMnet0 to use vLAN199 and then bridge network adapter to the Virtual Machine should work.

For the workaround you can run VMware-player-* .exe - e c:\vmptmp from a command line and then search for the c:\vmptmp\network.cab file and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually 'C:\Program Files\VMware/VMware Player', you can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player If you want easier access.  NOTE: It takes several minutes for the VMware-player-* .exe to extract all then be patient.

  • How to convert a Machine of VMWare ESXi 4.0 to run on VMWare Player

    Hi Experts

I am new to VMWare and need help, we are running ESXi 4.0, I installed on our Windows Server (Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2) the following:

    -VMWare vSphere Client 4.0

-VMWare vSphere Host Update Utility 4.0

    -VMWare vCenter Converter Standalone

We have currently x-2 VMS Machines on our server ESXi (ISSDBN01 & ISSSAP), ISSAP installing Windows Server 2008R2 Standard Editon and SAP, I now want to convert this Machine VM (ISSAP) so I can play on / via VMWare Player. My steps were as follows:

-Turning off the machine that needs conversion

-Make sure that I am on the parameters users & groups

-Convert the Machine (ISSSAP) using VMWare vCenter Converter Standalone VM

Once the conversion is complete it converts a 145 GB file (that is stored on an external hard drive and the machine has x 2 100 GB disks = disk C and data disc), I select the .vmx with VMWare Player (version 3.0.1.11056) file that I use on my laptop (running Windows Vista Business SP2, 4 GB of RAM), but it does not seem to boot up It keeps saying "Windows is loading files", I Googled it and came across someone adding the parameters of the resolution of the .vmx file.

I'm not sure what to do now that I need to convert this machine as soon as possible, as I have to get a copy of this machine and test upgrades (because the server is going to be broken and most of the parts used for our hosted server); can anyone help me on what steps I must take to ensure that I convert it properly so I can play this machine converted by VMWare Player.

Thank you very much for any help, much appreciated.

    Concerning

    Kurt Walters

    Hello Kurt.

I just have a question about my machine converted, is there a best practice or a better way to convert a VM Machine.

It is really not a good practice. The most important part of the conversion is the correct selection of the controller (as you did) and disk size/commissioning type. The other settings depend on what you want to achieve. After conversion, review the settings of the virtual machine to ensure that everything is as it should be for example (guest operating system, controller, network,...)

You can also download the latest version of VMware Converter 4.3 which is supported for Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7.

Thank you very much for your help is was extremely useful and appreciated.

You are welcome. If you believe it, feel free to use the 'proper' or 'Useful' buttons

  • CentOS 7 in VMWare Player 7 bug report

    Hello

Don't know if this is the right place to post so please let me know if I'm in the wrong place, but I've been hit problems with VMWare Player 7 installation of CentOS and Ubuntu:

I had several problems with anything CPU intensive while trying to set up a CentOS 7

Workstation inside VMWare Player 7.  This is a new KDE workstation installation out of the box

with maven installed via yum.  The system has been fully updated via # yum update.

This problem happens every time I try to compile Apache spark 1.1.0 with maven.  However, it seemed

be the case with other applications, including the GNOME desktop.  I tried the MATE as office

Well and still have the problem.

    Environment:

    Host:

    VMWare Player 7.0.0 build-2305329

    Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1

    4 core CPU AMD64

    16 GB OF RAM

    Comments:

    CentOS-7, 0-1406-x86_64 (installation of KDE)

    2 carrots

~ 11 GB of RAM (tried with different values)

    HARD DRIVE 60 GB

A CPU intensive causes this deadlock.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1 install CentOS-7, 0-1406

2 $ sudo yum install maven

3 update of $ sudo yum

4 Download spark 1.1.0 Apache sources of http://spark.apache.org/downloads.html and uncompress

    5 $ cd spark - 1.1.0

    $6 export MAVEN_OPTS = "" - Xmx2g - XX: MaxPermSize = 512 M - XX: ReservedCodeCacheSize = 512 m ""

    $7 mvn - Pyarn - Phadoop - 2.2 - Dhadoop.version = 2.2.0 - DskipTests clean package

Finally, the machine hangs, and a hard reset is required.

I don't know if it's a question of CentOS, a core issue or, more likely, a matter of VMWare Player.

don't know if it's a question of CentOS, a core issue or, more likely, a matter of VMWare Player.

    A Crash report is attached.

  • Virtual machines VMware Player 6.0.3 gel.

I had a problem with VMware Player 6.0.3. All my guests freeze finally after awhile. This seems to happen more often with my Linux VM rather than my windows VM. The two become very annoying.

I tried to adjust memory and its use, but it doesn't seem to work.

My temporary solution is only a pause virtual machines and run again. Graphics performance are poor thereafter.

Someone at - it experience something like this?

    Hi Jmattson,

It seems to me I found the problem and it is fixed. I had added the following line to the VMX file:

    sound.bufferTime = "200".

Apparently, the problem can be associated with buffer as I had very chopped him reading audio and video of the virtual machine just before it freezes. This may be due to move from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 as a host operating system.
