Validate Windows XP Pro

I had our company IT Department install a hard drive in my laptop again.  But now, when I am installing my updates from microsoft download site he says: I don't have a valid copy of windows.  I've never had this problem before and I wrote down the license key from the bottom of my laptop.  This can be corrected?

I ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool as suggested in a different thread.  It's what came.

Your current installation uses a blocked Volume License Key for Windows XP Pro
You * may * be able to change the key by using the COA key sticker and the product key Update Utility (assuming that the COA sticker is for XP Pro).

HTH - and good luck!

There is no need to upgrade - and no points.

We'll see if we can get rid of the feat...

Best way to fix it now (since we do not know what version of RemoveWAT served) is to run WATFix...

Download WATFix - make sure you UNCHECK the box for the "Download Manager and click on the link on the left of the page, not the big button on the right (which is an ad for the Download Manager!)" - and use that - extract the .exe file and run it, and then restart your computer.

Post back with another report MGADiag (new this time, if you please!), and then we'll see what we can do.

  • Windows XP Pro do not validate after the removal of the hard drive

In an older machine, I have a copy of Windows XP Pro, it is validated and worked perfectly fine, until I removed a dying hard drive of the machine, then it is suddenly telling me that the OS is not genuine. I can't get to turn on again in a way that I can think of, and I don't see anything immediately above that might interfere with the activation. I would really not like to re - install the operating system, anyway I can activate it again without doing so would be greatly appreciated.

  • I can validate a sticker/Windows 7 Pro OA installation product key FRONT of the BONE?

    Hi all

I bought a 2nd hand PC that has windows XP on, but I want now to remove it and install Windows 7.

Curiously, the PC had original Windows 7 Pro OA sticker with the product key (my guess is that windows XP has been installed then it was a PC ex).

My question is: is there a way to check if the product key is valid before installing Windows 7 Pro, because I don't want to install Windows 7 Professional, only to find out that for some reason any key is invalid and I have to re - install Windows XP.

A big thank you to all for reading (and I hope to answer to) this question.

No, you can not determine if it is valid or not, but just the fact that it is a Windows 7 Pro COA attached to the machine he could prove the validity.

  • Windows xp pro for PC refurbished - ID of product not valid

I want to install windows from a CD of restoration kit and when I put the product key Windows outside the pc I get the message "the product ID you entered is not valid." There is no way to move beyond the screen. I returned the product key several times and checked to make sure I have the correct key. I use the product key for the Windows XP Pro product tag refurbished. How to spend it?

I saw another post that we were talking about using the Windows product key update tool. I can't go to the tool. If I restart the computer, it will not start for something else that installing windows even when I try to use F9 to start from the hard drive. After that he tries to start, it goes back to the installation screen and asks me to insert the windows installation disc.

Follow the steps in the article.

You receive an error message after you enter the product key when you try to install Windows XP

  • Will be validate Windows if previous owner used product key?

I need to run Windows XP on a new computer, I am building for games, so I searched eBay and found a seller of good reputation with a full detail of Windows XP Pro package. Assuming that the seller has retired the PC that were previously running this copy of Windows, I'll be able to install it on my new build? Or Microsoft will always record the product key is in use? If this is the case, what is my recourse? Can Microsoft help me validate the copy, because I'm having the certificate of authenticity and documents proving that I bought the software enough?

    Thank you!

If the key is not used for a long period of time (say, 6 months or more) there is an activation lucky will not be a problem.  If she fails to activate (assuming that the key is no longer in use), then try to phone activation.

Please note that there are sellers on eBay who are not trustworthy and you take a risk, suggest that you only use PayPal to protect you.

  • This copy of Windows did not validate Windows.

I got a pc from a friend of my brothers. It is free OF THE discs, but had Windows XP Pro installed. Needless to say I got it at low cost. I recently bought an Internet access and began installing updates from Windows Update. He changed to update Microsoft Update sites and asked for me to validate Windows. I did it, but the software is a pirate? The system for this problem (a small star) tray icon has four options to resolve this problem. The four go to the site, which is NO HELP. Can I buy a genuine Windows license for this? If so I hope that's not expensive, if it is I'll be forced to return the pc to my brothers friend and cancel my internet service as I am a disabled veteran and have ZERO income. I have Windows 95 and 98 originals if that helps.

Oh... before you propose, this pc has only 256 MB of RAM and impossible to move to Windows7.

    Help, please.

    Sincerely, Ron

    Hello Ron,

If you receive a non-genuine message after validating your copy of Windows XP, then you can call Windows Genuine Advantage team to help you get your validated copy and make it genuine, please call the 866-530-6599 this service is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, if your system does not pass validation, you can ask for the Windows Genuine Advantage Kit that will convert your copy of Windows to a genuine copy. I hope this information helps. :-)

  • Windows 7 Pro activation problem

I installed windows 7 on my laptop, but it was not a good fit so I went back to vista.  I installed windows 7 on my pc instead, but now it won't turn on.  It has been activated very well when I installed it first, but now it won't turn on even by the method of the phone.   I have window 7 pro.  Can somone please help?

    Hi, YumpinYimminy,

Is it an OEM version or retail?  Is this the full version or upgrade version?

You do a clean install on the pc, or you upgrade the computer to Windows 7 Pro from a previous version of Windows?

Repeat the activation of the phone.

    1. with the operation of Windows, click Start, then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
    2. press enter on your keyboard
    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option, then dial the given number and hold for a real person.  Do not press any button or anything to say until it responds to a real person.

    Explain your situation in detail.

Go to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate - the valid system?

  • Desktop Windows 8 PRO has a 'Windows 8 PRO with media center Build 9200' text,

    Original title: Windows 8 PRO.

Good day, I was talking with my friend about I want to buy the Windows 8 PRO, so it make the "favor" to see in the internet a series of Windows 8 PRO cracked and 'validate', so I have my office have a text: "Windows 8 PRO with media center Build 9200", I want to restore my normal version of Windows 8, which is original.

I try using to refresh the pc, but does not work.

Thank you and have a nice day.

If the computer came with Windows 8.0/8.1 so if you have a DVD, or recovery Partition do a factory restore it will be the same as it was when you the activated. Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows 10 Pro: Firefox 40.0 constantly using 75 to 85% of cpu with HTML 5 1080 p video playback

Firefox version 40.0 can no longer play videos from youtube.com without ridiculously high levels of cpu on my 10 Pro 64-bit Windows System. The non-video HD, the cpu is using Firefox level is a constant 45 to 50%. On change to 1080 p HD, Firefox 40.0 now consumes a staggering 75-85% of cpu. It started since the upgrade to Firefox 39.

Opera of 31.0, Edge and Internet Explorer 11.0.10240.16384 all use less than 20% cpu when running HTML5 or Flash in mode HD 1080 p on the youtube.com site.

Why Firefox works at 75-85% of the cpu on my system? Video on youtube.com is rough and stutter and 40.0 Firefox is having a devastating effect on the proper functioning of my entire system, mounted in power overall cpu usage just up to 100%. He managed to slow down my entire operating system. I've never had this problem with Firefox before, not even in many Insider Preview of WIndows 10 Pro versions.

No one knows what causes this unacceptable amout of use cpu 40,0 Firefox and how to fix it? I already uninstalled Firefox completely and re-installed. This had no effect on the cpu extreme use.

You use NVIDIA? It of because they were disabled, so more processing power to use hardware acceleration.

  • My computer with Windows 7 Home updated for Firefox v34.0.5 but my two computers that are running Windows 7 Pro have not yet updated beyond Firefox v34.0. Something wrong?

See info above. I re - run the update process at least 10 times on the two machines running Windows 7 Pro (most recently this morning), and whenever the two machines running Windows 7 Pro (one is 64-bit, one is 32-bit) say that Firefox v34.0 is "up-to-date". I checked Mozilla.org, which States that Firefox v34.0.5 was released in mid-December, but he said nothing about whether this update was only for some OSs. I also ran several scans antivirus from different vendors on two machines running Windows 7 Pro and all scans show no problems.

Please advise is there are different versions of Firefox for Windows 7 family or Professional Edition, or if I'm having a problem. If I'm having a problem, please tell us how I can correct.

We changed how updates were deployed to a test, that's why you were probably the 34.0.5 on a computer and 34.0.0 on the other. The only difference between them is that 34.0.5 defines yahoo as the default search. You don't need to worry because of the different versions (who both were released at the same time BTW)

  • Thunderbird impossible sendmail on mail server yahoo after upgrading to Windows 7 Pro on an ASUS BP1AD PC. Tried 31.2 24.6 configured in IMAP & Thunderbird.

After recently upgrading to Windows 7 Pro on an ASUS BP1AD PC, I can receive emails but NOT send using the yahoo mail server. I am set up to use the IMAP protocol. Other e-mail servers/accounts do not have this problem. I get the error message right is an alert which States: "an error has occurred when sending mail. The mail server responded: unverified address - see http://help.yahoo.com/I/us/yahoo/mail/manage/sendfrom-07.html. Please make sure your e-mail address is correct in your mail preferences and try again"if my email in Thunderbird is good enough upward with i. sending messages. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

did you actually check your mailing address in your web account to yahoo? That is to say had them send you a special courier to check that it actually works? Sounds stupid, but they made me do it years ago.

  • I can't get rid of Highlightly even though I disabled in the extensions and uninstalled in the control panel. (windows 7 pro)

Highlightly does not appear in the control panel more since I uninstalled it. I disabled the extension in the Add-ons. He however keeps popping up. I have windows 7 pro 64-bit.

Is there an action actually uninstall Highlightly your list of extensions instead of disable?

One thing I would recommend is that make you a Reset of Firefox. The reset Firefox feature can solve a lot of problems in restaurant Firefox to its factory default condition while saving your vital information.

Note: This will make you lose all the Extensions and preferences.

    • Sites Web open is not recorded in less than 25 versions of Firefox.

To reset Firefox, perform the following steps:

    1. Go to Firefox > help > troubleshooting information.
    2. Click on the button 'Reset Firefox'.
    3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is finished, it will display a window with the imported information. Click Finish.
    4. Firefox opens with all the default settings applied.

Information can be found in the article Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons .
